My hopes for next seasons:

High level of fitness.

Fast tempo football.

No signings with bad injury records.

Use the squad. Take players off after 60-70mins to rest them.

Donโ€™t defend single goal leads by getting behind the ball and inviting the opposition to attack.

The EPL needs a wake up call. The football played this season was abysmal. To maintain the level of broadcast rights itโ€™s got to get more entertaining.

17 Apr 2026 13:35:54
The quality of the Premier League this season has been diabolical. The fact the best team had to park the bus to squeak past a Sporting side, City used to beat about 15-2 on aggregate, sums it up.

Also, the fact we could plausibly finish 3rd despite only winning once a month.

@Navy, Think you missed the point, pal. I was referring to the questioning of those who make the effort to put out info they have.

Don't allow my posts in jest to worry you, buddy.

Much love - peace!

Last season was awful too. Winning it didn't make it special in the slightest. We are firmly in the era of Arteta and Slot and their deeply uninspiring brand of football. But these things are cyclical. After the Klopp vs Pep years, which were genuinely exciting regardless of outcomes, there was always going to be a period of soulless, heartless football.

Apparently Slot is staying on next season, so we have a bit more of this to endure yet. Once the disillusionment fully sets in, anyone or anything with even a hint of progressive football will feel like a breath of fresh air again. Till then, I will try and find something else to do on weekends rather than being glued to the tele. There is some benefit to this after all.

Agree0

17 Apr 2026 14:19:46
It is somewhat funny the stick we got last season for winning, and the standard of football this year is significantly worse, with zero consistent opposition to the gooners.

Add to that, they still might blow it.

Anyway, we have a preseason to reset, albeit a short one with the World Cup.

Looking forward to Leoni and Jacquet coming in, and hopefully Isak and Bradley can stay fit once back.

Agree0

17 Apr 2026 15:48:38
The standard of entertainment in the league is well down. It's to be expected when there's an age in most matches taken to dry footballs for a long throw. What I will say is that the league is a lot more competitive than it was a few years ago.

The midtable teams are very strong. Not many away games in that league anymore that can be taken as a given you'll get 3 pts.

High level of fitness.

Fast tempo football.

Are just two of the things you won't see if Arnold Slop is still in charge.

More home defeats and teams running through our midfield at will are just two of the things you will see, though.

Agree1

17 Apr 2026 10:11:53
Ladies and Gents the constant requirement for the will he won't he stay whilst an important issue is driving people mad.

We do not want to drive away people like Carra from posting on this site when they take the time to offer their genuine insight into what is going on at the time of posting.

Football is a forever moving beast and crazy things happen all the time ask Peter Odemwingi (spelling? )

Any try chill, sit back ride out these final 6 games as crap as they will be and what will be will be.

Carra please do not let other drive you away info from you, thefields, robbo etc are all greatly appreciated.

The work the Eds do to maintain things is great and they are all good people - except that dirty ed25 guy don't trust him haha

Love always Eddie25 (except on sunday)

Tris hope all is well your part of the world!

17 Apr 2026 12:54:36
I've always been sceptical of Carra, but he has staked his entire reputation on this by being so insistent Slot leaves. If Slot stays this summer, we can disregard any other info he puts forward.

Agree1

17 Apr 2026 12:59:31
@BeKind, I think that's a bit rich from you considering you've been doing a countdown of his remaining games in your posts for a while now... 8 games left, 7 games left, 6 games left...

Agree2

17 Apr 2026 13:02:21
I actually enjoy reading the info that Carra and others put on here but to get offended because a stranger(s) who probably live thousands of miles away that you'll never likely meet disagrees with you is hardly worth worrying about.

Keep posting away, Carra mate, but if you feel you no longer wish to post then that's totally up to you.

Agree4

17 Apr 2026 13:05:08
Great post, BeKind, I wish more people were like your name!
I've much appreciation for Carra, Ned etc with the info they bring. But things change, decisions can be reversed or postponed. Don't be bashing these who bring us their news - this is a rumours site after all!

Agree1

17 Apr 2026 13:17:55
Livered, you're talking nonsense mate. Everything posted on here is heard through the grapevine, nobody has direct access to boardroom meetings. Even if you know somebody at the club, we're still getting 2nd hand information that's already been "interpreted" as opposed to directly shared. Even if you were best mates with Virgil, you wouldn't really know what's going on. This isn't Madrid. Players do not have direct access to execs like Edwards or Hughes.

There's a strict hierarchy, and outside of contract negotiations or major issues, that chain of command is not broken. So even the likes of our own captain does not know what's really going on behind closed doors. They can only make assumptions based on what they themselves hear through the grapevine or can interpret from day to day vibes or rumours.

Agree2

17 Apr 2026 17:19:08
Exactly, @Willo. I don't know why Carra and the other so-called ITK's are being slandered all of a sudden. It seems that the same people saying, "This is a rumours site, so anything goes" now seem to be saying, "I don't fully believe what ITK X is posting." Seriously, who cares what posts you trust or don't trust on a rumours forum? I don't.

What these people post are just their two cents based on what they may have heard or gathered, and they darn well have a right to do that. They did not ask a soul on here to take their info as gospel truth, so if you don't trust the info, move on, wait and see what happens. Just my opinion.

Agree1

17 Apr 2026 14:03:18
Carra, the field's, Ned and robbo are essential to the site, it's a rumour site ,
This happened before and macca stopped posting, so try and keep it civil and as ed25 said if you don't like it, scroll past

Liverpool Fear a Collapse After Klopp's Departure

17 Apr 2026 11:17:47
{Ed's Note - Anonymous Woolback has posted a new article entitled, Liverpool Fear a Collapse After Klopp's Departure

17 Apr 2026 10:34:30
Interesting the new look Premier League rules on money. The green zone for them is up to 85%, but can be ok to go to 100% if you pay them some tax. Points deductions start from 115%. We are sat at 61% so around 4th.

Brighton the best. Bournemouth sat at 104% due mainly to a tiny stadium. Nice little raid on them for a few players would do nicely, with Scott, Rayan, and Kroupi the standouts.

17 Apr 2026 10:57:05
Evanilson is another top player they have, but Rayan is the better of the two.

Agree0

17 Apr 2026 11:20:11
Rules do not allow teams to compete with the big teams.

How is any team meant to grow their fan base and sponsorship, etc., to allow them to compete. Chelsea and Man City were allowed to spend billions and worldwide fans then followed with the success.

Fans did the same with Utd in the 90's and Liverpool in the 80's.

Agree3

17 Apr 2026 11:34:50
Brighton are top of the list, doing very well, yet voted against it. 14 teams said yes, not just the usual suspects.

Agree0

17 Apr 2026 11:51:37
Isn't there weird rollover rules too, though, just to make it confusing? If you are at 80%, you can carry the 20% over to next season or something stupid?

Agree0

17 Apr 2026 12:08:38
JK, that's the issue, and the same problem Newcastle are having in that they are constrained by their revenue income against expenditure, despite having access to substantial fees.

I understand the reasons, in that the rules are there to prevent clubs financially collapsing if funding ends, but it definitely limits clubs' ability to break through and compete with the more established teams.

The only exception I'd say is Wrexham, who have used their celebrity connections to maximise their revenue and, in turn, allow them to far outspend rivals, but stay within the limits, though I see this becoming an issue as they get further up the ladder, as they'll be more squeezed by stadium size etc.

Agree2

17 Apr 2026 12:17:43
I wish we could be more creative than wanting to sign all the Bournemouth players.

Agree3

17 Apr 2026 12:34:12
Who do you suggest then, Fly? Name me who you'd bring in without naming any players previously mentioned on here.

Agree0

17 Apr 2026 13:42:04
Keegans Purm, well, I am not a Liverpool scout or analyst. However, I would like to think we can do better than lazily signing Senesi, Scott, Rayan and Kroupi from Bournemouth, Richard Hughes' former club.

Agree1

17 Apr 2026 15:22:19
So no suggestions then, Fly. We poached some good players from Southampton. Bournemouth take the risk on these players who then earn a move to top clubs. Scott was watched by Fallows and Hunter before his move to Bournemouth. We were going to make a move. Kroupi is admired but many clubs and Senesi has played under our manager and is a freebie.

{Ed025's Note - take no notice Carra, most of us appreciate your information mate and look forward to your input which has up to now been correct, you will always get the nay sayers who will try to pick holes in everything just for the sake of it, hang in there my friend..

Ignore it all, mate. It's all been triggered by loads of people hearing Ornstein etc saying the opposite to what you've said.

We all know things can change, but personally I'd much rather have your input than not! Keep it coming.

Also, any further updates on incomings/outgoings or changes to your last update?

Personally hoping for a strong, dominant midfielder, one decent centre back (maybe Schlotterback) and topped off with Diomande and Olise...

Maybe I'm just being greedy? (My gut would definitely agree).

How does a journalist manage to get his or her information to report, as Romano seems to have a lot to say but not much is true. Do they have someone at the club telling them or just guesswork?

People are hearing Slot is staying from journos and getting aggy. Most of the people on this site regard what you say highly.

I have far more interest in what you, TheFields, Robbo & the Ed's have to say over any of the journos.

Thanks for all the info you pass on, Carra!

When Carra speaks we listen. When others speak we laugh. Carra is one of the posters who is literally on the money 99% of the time. Things, as we know, can change very quickly in the football world.

It's a rumours site, folks. If you can't handle the good guys giving information, which is why we come to this site, then maybe slysoprts is the place for yous.

I'm with you, Carra. I've not posted anything because it's all becoming a little toxic towards people like ourselves. We can't always be right as things change. People need to understand that and not see it as kop out.

Agree9

{Ed025's Note - i wouldn,t take no notice of the posters who actually offer nothing TF they are just looking for a scapegoat mate, the good posters and the ED,s are thankful to have posters lijke yourself, Carra, Robbo, Ned etc who put their head on the block to supply us with information, anybody with half a brain can see that things can change from time to time but im confident that all the information you guys supply is correct at the time..keep it coming guys..

17 Apr 2026 12:02:52
Hi Thefields, like Carra, really sorry you feel like that, mate. Please don't let some of the people push you away. We appreciate your insight. If it wasn't for you, Carra, Robbo etc., they'd be moaning there was nobody with insight.

Been visiting this site for years, incite from people with inside knowledge is what makes it special. We were lucky to have Ed 2 and Macca, and we are lucky to have Carra and the rest of the posters that offer great insight. I also love the old school rumours, from the window cleaners etc. I have to also say what a great job all the other Eds do too, it's just depressing that they have to deal with so much rubbish.

Liverpool fans will often tell you that we are special, the best fans in the world. That YNWA means more than any other phrase in football. I would ask all fans to try think of this before spewing bile online. Cheers.

This site is wild just now, people calling out the ITK's, arguing with each other over what some "reliable journalist" who is a mouth piece for the club is posting... on top of that the "FSG" want Slot to stay argument...

People need to be logical, look at the clues and be patient as it won't be long before we know who actually knows what they are talking about and who does not.

Slot has 13 months left on his contract, as shown many times he's not settled and the complete changes in formation etc for me show he has no clue how to change things....

I don't think this is a blip and it sounds like due to him being "Hughes and Edwards" man and winning the league last season they want to give him the remainder so he can close his account with Liverpool and they all save face.

I personally think Slot leaves at the end of the season, everything points to that and the journalists claiming otherwise are being told to by the club again to make it look like LFC never failed nor did Slot.... It's all ego.

17 Apr 2026 09:22:03
I am quite surprised at the call out as well.

One of the ITKs mentioned that the club already met with journalists, so news like this should be expected, but it is just a facade, as Slot is still leaving at the end of the season.

Carra also mentioned that Slot might be requesting to leave so as to return home, which, in fact, is another perspective.

While the ITKs have not always been hundred percent accurate with their info, they have been correct on several occasions.

So, instead of turning on them now because of what some journalists are saying, why not wait until the end of the season to see what actually happens? I am sure the journalists have not always been correct as well.

I personally think he will leave at the end of the season, with a send forth in appreciation of last season title victory. This might just be another reason why the club did not sack him.

Agree1

17 Apr 2026 10:14:55
It's a superiority thing calling out the ITKs. Thinking they are smarter than everybody else here.

I always enjoy a good rumour and love reading Carras, Fields, Akira and the many more posts. Good fun.

Even the "reliable" journalists get a tonne wrong when to transfer rumours, but it's enjoyable to read and think about.

Some people here think we are all rushing off to the bookies to bet our life savings on these rumours.

Trust me, we are all just enjoying the site and having some banter. Whether the ITKs have genuine contact, or things keep changing in the background, I never know, but I'll enjoy the info all the same, as I would reading any other rumour.

Agree5

17 Apr 2026 10:34:17
Spot on Davey, as a certain Manc manager said, it is squeaky bum time and our fans are getting frantic over whether Slot goes or stays, and ITKs are trying their best to lift spirits. YNWA.

Agree1

17 Apr 2026 13:03:24
I don't mind so called ITK's. They are voicing their opinions based on what they know and have the guts to put on this site, which I find rather courageous.

At the end of the day, we will all be here to see exactly what will happen, and then let the chips fall where they may. If the so called ITK's are wrong, then it simply doesn't mean they were told fake news directly.

It may just mean that either they were fed fake news, or they were fed actual news at the time and things then changed, and something else was done.

Personally, I don't waste my time following ITK's around.

Frode Kippers, my comment re Arsenal was an attempt at a light hearted play on words as I have 2 mates who are Arsenal supporters. While you are out and about today try and pick yourself up a sense of humour.

17 Apr 2026 06:44:04
Eds or posters, I saw Redknapp (Jamie) doing some punditry rnd other day. I started watching football in the early 2000s, so I know he was captain and played for us. However, I have no recollection of him actually playing just him being injured.

I just wondered what was he like as a player?

{Ed001's Note - he was very good, but had a tendency to coast through games and did not work hard enough. Also had this annoying habit of dropping right back to stand on the toes of the centre-backs to take the ball off them. Why he couldn't just stand 5 or 10 yards further forward and let them pass it to them, where he would have been in a better position to create danger, I have no idea.}

17 Apr 2026 07:51:16
Redknapp was the best sideways passing midfielder in Liverpool's history. If you wanted a player to pick the ball off our defenders, drop the shoulder a few times, then pass it 10 yards sideways or back, he was your man. I think he had a doctor's note that said he wasn't allowed to pass forward more than twice a game on medical grounds.

Agree1

17 Apr 2026 08:07:11
Bobby, Apparently Jordan Henderson had posters of Redknapp on his bedroom wall.

In fairness, so did I, but mine were Louise.
