Ed01, what do you think about Flick as a manager?
He seems to be doing well with Barca.
He was also very successful with Bayern if I remember correctly.
{Ed001's Note - he seems to be a very good club manager, but that's because he is similar to Klopp - he builds a great rapport with his players. You can't really do that as well when you only see them every couple of months, so it made it difficult for him taking on the international job. I think we are seeing more of the real Flick again now. And he was great in Allo Allo.}

Thanks Ed.
Now I know why it didn't quite go well for him with the German national team. I do rate him though.

I really think Nunez will do a good job elsewhere but not at Liverpool.
He is a good player but it has not just worked out for him at Liverpool and I don't think it will unfortunately.
We should look at selling in the summer for the good of everyone.
1.) 20 Feb 2025 07:50:09
Had the opportunity to sell him January as Macca said and signed Marmoush as a replacement. I doubt anyone would touch him now.
2.) 20 Feb 2025 08:28:15
so the same teams who would have bought him a few weeks ago won't touch him now? and why is that? because he missed a big chance last night?
3.) 20 Feb 2025 09:18:50
Im just asking why there is all this slander at Darwin for missing a big chance from a tight angle (wider of the goal) whereas the guy in Jota who is touted to be a better finisher than him, balooned the ball into row z in a more central position with the GK to beat?
Anyone of those slandering Darwin want to take this one or are we only slandering those we hate and protecting those we like despite them failing at the same thing?
4.) 20 Feb 2025 10:54:32
Oli . Nunez isn't good enough. he's been here a while n yea he runs around but his finishing is and has always been poor . we all wanted him to be a success but it's never going to happen . should have snapped the 70/ 80mill fee from Saudi right outta their hands . as for Jota . he missed a few last nigh but normally he bangs them in . there is the difference no one expects Nunez to score them.
5.) 20 Feb 2025 11:09:32
Yeah, I'll take that one :)
You need to look at it again, Oli. Jota was barely in line with the six yard box for his chance once he'd carried the ball in from wide, so approx 5 metres away from being in line with the goal and quite an angle to the goal. Nunez was almost in line with the back post, so clearly a much better angle.
Not to mention the fact that one of them had the goalkeeper to beat and the other had an empty net in front of them but in terms of the angle that you mentioned, look at the pictures - neither angle was particularly tight but Jota was clearly in a wider position when he struck his shot than Nunez was.
Both really bad misses and the type of chance you need to take in tight matches in title run ins.
{Ed001's Note - I would have said his header was a bigger miss from Jota, that was pretty easy.}
6.) 20 Feb 2025 12:14:20
Oli, why are you talking about slander? It's not slander, is it?
If it is, you are slandering others, too.
What tight angle did Nunez have to finish the open goal from? You may need to watch that miss more than twice, mate.
Slot has said Nunez is feeling down about it, so what does that tell you?
It was the easiest chance of the night and he missed the target.
7.) 20 Feb 2025 12:16:39
I agree with the header. Jota missed a couple of good chances. I guess it comes down to expecting Jota to really do better and he usually does and being hit with the reality that when Darwin has a chance you put your hands over your eyes and hope for the best.
Darwin’s career at Liverpool hasn’t really got going, which is a shame, he seems to want to do well, sometimes that’s just not enough tho.
8.) 20 Feb 2025 15:35:39
For those having issues understanding my point, all I am asking for is for the same people having a go at Darwin, to apply the same energy to Jota who missed a chance just as big. Im not even saying Jota had to score. All Im saying is to hit the target cos you got to do that first before anything else.
Even if Darwin's chance was easier (I disagree but okay), does that suddenly mean Jota should escape the same level of criticism Darwin is getting for missing a big chance as well? Seriously, who gives a hoot who missed the bigger chance at the end of the day? Good grief.
Me? Im try to be consistent and fair which is all Im asking from others. They both missed big chances, end of story so the sugar coating needs to end. I have not slandered nor called either of them names cos that's not my way and if I did, they BOTH would be getting it equally. Instead, all I see is glossing over Jota's miss and OTT on Darwin's.

I like both players as well but I would prefer Bowen.

If a reasonable offer comes for Nunez this summer then we should sell. Get someone more reliable. We can't keep relying on Salah as our main source of goals. He is aging. In fact, he should also be sold if a reasonable offer comes for him as well.
If Nunez is not sold, I will keep supporting him and hopes he succeeds.
06 May 2024 15:32:31
Nunez is called Captain Chaos. His name his chanted by the fans in the stadium. Possibly he has a song as well. But truth be told, has he really done enough to warrant all these?
Ours arms have long been around his shoulders but I really don't know how much longer those arms need to be there for him to start being the number 9 we all hoped we were getting when we bought him.
Nunez has not worked out so far and if he was sold this summer I wouldn't be sad even though I like him and want him to succeed here.
With all these said, he or his family should NEVER BE SUBJECT TO ABUSE no matter how much he is being paid or how many clear cut chances he misses.
11 Jun 2025 20:39:24
If this is true then it is very sad. I could as well stop watching football.
30 May 2025 21:42:54
Ed001 thanks for the response.
It also feels like he wants it more.
If we get this over the line, it would be like winning another trophy.
30 May 2025 16:59:37
Ed001, Wirtz or Bellingham which potential signing got you more excited?
I would love to get the opinions of other posters too.
I have never be more excited about a possible signing since Bellingham.
{Ed001's Note - Wirtz because it feels like it will happen.}
14 May 2025 10:21:36
I think he feels he is better than he really is. Having self confidence is good but his is bordering on cockiness.
You wouldn't find me complaining if he is sold.
13 May 2025 17:39:24
Ed001, now addidas are our major shirt sponsors, I hope they can get a superb player for us with such kind of deal. We can look at it as a form of compensation for making us miss out on Bellingham.
{Ed001's Note - they won't do that for us, the value isn't there for them.}
