Afternoon Ed's, are you aware of any interest in our own players?

Sturridge, Clyne, migs, etc?

Be interesting to see where they end up and if we set silly price valuations.

{Ed001's Note - there is little interest in Sturridge unless the asking price and wages drop. Sevilla still hold interest in him.

Clyne was looking to return down south and Palace were interested. Not sure if anything has happened there. Bournemouth are a possibility as well.

Mignolet has a similar problem to Sturridge.}

1.) 21 May 2018 16:04:48
Apologies if a daft question ed001, but could you see us just coming to an aranagment to let them go or would loans be more likely as a last resort?

{Ed001's Note - those in the last year of their contract are more likely to come to an arrangement, loans may be possible otherwise if someone is desperate enough to pay £2m+ like the Baggies did with Studger.}

2.) 21 May 2018 16:57:55
I hope we see the back of Clyne before anybody, please, some club come and take him from us, he's good, honest! ;)

3.) 21 May 2018 17:29:55
Salah. I use reddit a lot for Liverpool based news and conversation. The sub is 98k strong.
I can't figure out why but, whenever I've mentioned how poor Clyne is on there I've been vilified. A lot of them see him as the saviour we need at RB and how we've looked so much worse without him this season.

The guy not only can't defend but he's utterly useless going forward. I think it's down to his FIFA 18 rating tbh.

4.) 21 May 2018 17:46:46
That's absolutely crazy shents, I don't understand what game some people are watching at times mate.

I agree with you, he is just poor at every aspect in the game, to be honest I think I'd go as far to say, any PL team who went for him would be stupid to do so, he's Championship level at best. The bugger gives me palpitations as much as Migs/ Matip does. Anybody who rates him can't be watching him. TAA would do a better job blindfolded.

5.) 21 May 2018 17:49:49
Shents me too! To be fair been banned for laughing at United in their page because I’m a child but yes they do love Clyne and I too state his lack of ability and people assum I’m in need of a doctor, defensively frail he cannot cross a ball, they all think he offers more attacking than TAA!

6.) 21 May 2018 18:36:40
It's probably because a lot of people assume muscular athleticism is indicative of footballing ability. It's not. The ManU fans probably love Clyne because he reminds them of their own Valencia. They may be physically similar, but there's a vast difference in footbaling skill and ability between those two.

7.) 21 May 2018 20:20:51
Considering how he whined about being dropped for Karius, surely Mignolet will have to drop his wage demands if he doesn't want to become third choice next season if Butland/ Navas/ Reina comes in?

8.) 21 May 2018 20:35:50
I’d rather Mignolet than Navas! Navas is the worst keeper playing at a top side. Hopefully he’ll have another nightmare on Saturday!

9.) 21 May 2018 21:26:25
Mignolet dropping his wage demands makes a change from dropping the ball.
Sorry I’ll get me coat 😐.

{Ed025's Note - i think you should mikey.. :)

10 May 2017 15:09:24
Ed (1) if your around. I see Stewart being linked with a loan/ permenant move away, do you know what the plans are for him? And why he hasn't seen more game time this year? I always thought he showed promise.

{Ed001's Note - he has not done enough and is now considered surplus.}

1.) 10 May 2017 15:54:47
Im not entirely sure he got that much opportunity to prove himself. I thought given time he could be an asset for us.

2.) 10 May 2017 15:58:38
plenty of clubs interested in him, shame it did not work out, I wish him well, we cannot keep everybody I suspect a lot of fringe players will be moving on come the summer.

3.) 10 May 2017 16:02:21
I agree he hasn't done enough seems klopp liked him, it was then up to him to step up and put in that work but I don't think he did.

4.) 10 May 2017 17:55:43
I think some of you guys don't understand what proving and doing enough is, you can't get game time if you don't prove yourself at the training facility where the management staff see you everyday, so with the apparent lack of game time its seems he don't do enough when training etc, i like the kid but if this is true he probably needs go prove himself in the championship or similar.

5.) 10 May 2017 17:58:21
Stewart has been injured for a month or two which is why he has not even been playing for the U23's. Honest player but lacks that bit of extra quality needed for a top EPL team.

6.) 10 May 2017 21:31:19
Agree with costared above, his best games looked mid table quality. He seems like a good kid, best of luck to him if he does move.

7.) 12 May 2017 06:28:41
And to be fair mid EPL quality is still high quality so not like people are saying he is rubbish, just not the level LFC are looking to reach.

20 Apr 2017 10:03:47
Morning Eds,

What are the possible (plausible I'll throw in too) destinations for Sturridge If he were to be sold? Is there any mooted interest?

{Ed001's Note - there is a bit of mild interest from West Ham. Palace, Stoke and West Brom would all love to sign him as well, the issue is that I am not sure he would have much interest in them. Maybe Palace could persuade him, they have the funds, but I can't see how they would use him in their current system. Stoke need a striker desperately who can score goals, but they look to be going backward under Hughes. West Brom just don't look to have the money to afford a deal for him.}

1.) 20 Apr 2017 10:29:06
What a shame that that's the level of club he'll probably end up at. He should be in his prime right now. Wish he could've stayed fit for us.

2.) 20 Apr 2017 10:40:46
Ed do you think a move abroad would suit him better France or Spain.

{Ed001's Note - yes, but the clubs that have the money to afford him are not the ones likely to need or want him, sadly.}

3.) 20 Apr 2017 12:17:21
Ed, do you think there is a chance he could stay or do you think Klopp is fed up of how little he is available?

{Ed001's Note - there is every chance he could stay, it is just more likely he leaves due to his injury problems. Klopp would prefer someone more reliable but that is all it is.}

4.) 20 Apr 2017 15:51:28
sad but he will never be fit for more than 5 games in a row.

5.) 21 Apr 2017 22:50:47
5 games at a push. On his day quality in front of goal but that injection of pace he had is long gone, the guy doesn't even lok interested in chasing a ball in behind anymore. The injuties have got to him which is probably fair enough considering the amount he has had but for LFC it's time to move on and get a decent price for him. He will score goals for whoever he signs for and best of luck to him but we need someone we can rely on up top if we are to push on.

6.) 22 Apr 2017 17:13:30
With a World cup around the corner I am sure he will want to be playing.
I hope he finds some fitness and gets his career back on track.

We have all seen how good he can be.

Morning Ed, question for one of your future podcasts, how do you see the coming years shaping under KLopp and the rest of league? We seem to have a very good team assembled but can you foresee Any significant challenges? (Players leaving, a resurgent Man Utd etc? )

{Ed001's Note - if it is for a podcast, there is a red button at the top to send them in, it will just get lost here.}

06 May 2019 11:15:01
Just read the match review, good read though you are being incredibly generous saying Fabinho slipped lol.

{Ed001's Note - he did slip. Watch his feet go from under him as he tries to stop. There was a lot of that happening in the game, most of it while the player was nowhere near anyone else.}

04 Oct 2018 17:58:04
ED, any chance of your take on the Chelsea games? Apologies if you've done reviews, I did search but couldn't find them?

{Ed001's Note - sorry mate I had a free ticket to the cinema so went to see Venom, but I am in the middle of it and will get back to it asap.}

1.) 04 Oct 2018 19:20:20
No worries, I hear Tom hardy plays a good venom?

{Ed001's Note - I like Hardy anyway, but yeah I enjoyed it. Was not the greatest movie in the world or anything, but it was enjoyable enough that 2 hours flew by.}

2.) 04 Oct 2018 19:39:22
Same as Ed001 I went to see it as well and thought it was very enjoyable. Tom Hardy is class the next 007 for me.

3.) 04 Oct 2018 20:39:27
Not a bad suggestion - the next James Bond. Why is his neck twice the size of everybody else's? 😵🤣.

4.) 04 Oct 2018 20:49:04
Hardy is a fantastic actor. Stole the show in the revenant.

5.) 04 Oct 2018 22:48:45
Just FYI - Warrior for me is one of the the greatest sports movies ever.
Check him out in that.

{Ed001's Note - I love that film.}

6.) 05 Oct 2018 02:02:42
Im going to go today!

{Ed001's Note - enjoy mate.}

03 Aug 2018 18:34:44
Evening Ed, fellow poster further down the page mentioned Coady and prompted me to look him up, I remember him being a midfielder not a defender though, do you know how he is getting on? How did he end up as a defender?

{Ed001's Note - he played both midfield and defence. Was Huddersfield's player of the year in midfield, moved to Wolves but they were not playing good football like they are now and he struggled. Then Nuno Espirito Santo took charge, dropped him to defence as part of a back 3 and he has once again shown he is a very good player.}

1.) 03 Aug 2018 19:31:25
He's now their captain I believe.

{Ed001's Note - correct.}

2.) 03 Aug 2018 20:24:36
I thought he went to Sheffield Utd before ending up at wolves.

{Ed001's Note - no mate, he had a loan from us there, but when he left us he joined Huddersfield.}

3.) 04 Aug 2018 03:42:17
Wolves look a very good team next year, I can see them challenging for the Europa League spots at the very least.

4.) 04 Aug 2018 08:14:24
do you think he can return as a liverpool player maybe in his late 20s? i like him. gets stuck in and is able to pass the able around well and spot runs. maybe just lacking a bit of quality but who knows if he turns out to be a very reliable center back?

{Ed001's Note - he is not the best defensively, he acts more as a sweeper in a back 3 there, in a back four he struggles as he does not have the space to spot the runs.}

28 Jul 2018 17:26:00
Ed01, you said the other day (at least I think it was you! ) that there where no obvious bad teams in the prem this year. what do you make of Cardiffs chances? Got to be favourites for the drop for me,

Who would be your three as of now for relegation?

{Ed001's Note - worst in teams of players and style of play but they will fight and scrap (literally) for every point with Colin in charge. He will have them breaking legs, scratching, biting and punching their way to survival. Huddersfield could well be in trouble. Watford are another one, they always struggle with fitness and injuries. Bournemouth are the other that might well struggle, they are too nice under Howe.}

1.) 28 Jul 2018 17:48:59
I'm surprised you mentioned Colin without expletives Ed1 mate! wow I can't stand that man, horrible person.

{Ed001's Note - he is a vile abusive cretin.}

2.) 28 Jul 2018 18:04:05
Colin W by name and Colin W by nature.

3.) 28 Jul 2018 19:47:14
That's more like it Ed1 mate, how he's even a manager is beyond me.

4.) 28 Jul 2018 19:51:15
Southampton is my tip to go Down.

5.) 28 Jul 2018 19:53:20
I really hope it’s Newcastle who go down, I really do. I hope someone headhunts Benitez long before and he leaves them to wallow in their own delusional sty. I know it’s really nothing to me but I hate the way they boo every one of their ex players or players who once played for their rivals or players who scored against them or who turned them down a contract offer or who just drove by the city without stopping in for tea. You might say I just hate Newcastle and we’ll leave it at that.

6.) 29 Jul 2018 06:24:34

And I think Fulham will struggle as they have no strength in depth 👍.

{Ed001's Note - Fulham are buying it mate, they have a few more incomings this summer if all goes to plan.}

Didn't Utd sign RVP at 29 and then promptly win the league? . I would have no qualms with Lewandoski (not that it will happen thou! )

Definitely an entertaining race, and interesting to see the Ferrari international assistance program. sorry the FIA is alive and well.

I also like Leclerc but some bizarre calls for sure.

I would of liked to of seen all the drivers get across the line in Q3 because 9 into 1 at the first corner doesn’t go and would of been quite entertaining and pure carnage!

My favourite bit of the race though was watching Verstappen try to be conservative at the first corner and still make contact and damage his car!

{Ed001's Note - you are right about that Q3 would have been incredible if they had all made it across the line!

And it is true that Verstappen and caution just do not go together at all.}

The track suited Mercedes and Red bull, lots of slow speed corners hence the big time gap.

Whilst Verstappen is showing more maturity lately I thought is comments pre race that Hamilton was nothing special where disrespectful and Lewis offered the perfect response by hunting him down in the race closing stages, which to be 20 seconds back - not something an ordinary drive could do!

Hopefully they have more epic battles!

Whilst I don’t doubt they want rid. if you watch all of it Verrati and Mbappe also pull neymar into celebrations.

So question Ed’s, why would There be such a drastic drop in Griezmanns release clause just a year after signing a new deal? Seems rather daft?

{Ed002's Note - That was the agreement that the player wanted to give him the chance to move on rather than being priced out of a move.}

Whats your take on Griezmann Ed? I mean aside from clearly being a massive tool, the protracted transfer saga to Barcelona seems to have some serious breaches in trust?

{Ed001's Note - to be honest, there is not a lot to add to the fact that he is a massive tool. He has been talking to Barcelona for years behind Atleti's back. It was always going to end in tears. I mean he just signed a new long term contract saying he wanted to stay, then he is again in talks over a move a few weeks later.}
