Curious if Eds have heard anything about this, but I have seen couple articles claiming UEFA offered money to big 6 to leave the European Super League, seems odd, but curious if Eds can dispel the rumor. Fifa and UEFA don't have a great reputation, so I wouldn't put a golden handshake past them.

Maybe invite the Irish teams to join for a bit too? Would they all be kicked out again if they were no longer part of Britain?

Hi Eds, Gelson Martins, we were linked to him before, big release clause, was he released from his contract with sporting? Have we shown any interest in signing him on for free? What is Eds opinion of him?

mflis

{Ed001's Note - nobody has been released by Sporting. They asked for a contract termination which Sporting are contesting.}

1.) 09 Jul 2018 17:12:04
I know it’s not Liverpool related but does that mean the patricio to wolves is going to or be contested?

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

2.) 09 Jul 2018 21:09:42
TSR I saw something either yesterday or the day before that sporting have already filed a complaint or something over that transfer and are demanding €18mil ish (iirc)

3.) 10 Jul 2018 13:43:49
awkward.

17 Dec 2016 04:58:04
Hey Eds, just curious, with Matip injury being a bit troublesome it seems and possibly requiring extended rest or surgery, will that force Klopps hand to get a CB he might have gotten in the summer window in the january window? Jonathan Tah?

mflis

{Ed001's Note - a lot depends on who is available.}

1.) 17 Dec 2016 15:04:28
No club will sell their star CB in January and we won`t be paying the stupid money they will ask for hence, we move on.

2.) 18 Dec 2016 00:22:24
Caulker will be signed in time for the League cup semi final 1st leg.

06 Nov 2016 22:46:01
See Pulisic rumors making rounds again, any updates or changes when it comes to him? Do you see Dortmund selling in January or the summer?

mflis

1.) 07 Nov 2016 09:10:17
As ed2 said - ' Pulisic is 17 and Dortmund has no interest in selling - but the summer is a long way off. Interest has been shown in other youngsters who may be more viable in the wing-back or attacking midfield/ winger type role. Club are constantly looking at players, and Liverpool are no different. '

2.) 07 Nov 2016 17:52:03
18 now. he will be 19 in September 😉😂.

3.) 08 Nov 2016 01:14:25
Not needed.

4.) 08 Nov 2016 10:16:50
If Klopp wants him then end of discussion. Let's see eh!

5.) 10 Nov 2016 01:02:21
Hi laddie bunton did you get email address? Would be good to chat re jfc. Steviep62.

31 Aug 2016 01:45:13
Any updates on loans for youngsters Connor Randall, Cameron Brannagan, Pedro Chirivella? Or the surplus players Tiago Ilori, Lazar Markovic? Is liverpool still insisting on the 75% time played clause?

With the season over and us knowing which teams will be relegated, are there any hidden gems on those teams that could do well on a better team? I remember Ed championing Andy Robertson after Hull's relegation and that turned out well.

mflis

1.) 25 May 2022 08:35:28
Maxwell cornet from Burnley and sarr from Watford as back up players for me.

2.) 25 May 2022 09:19:40
I believe Starr blotted his copybook last week.

3.) 25 May 2022 09:33:00
How wdw?

4.) 25 May 2022 09:33:49
Let It Be, WDW. I'm sure We Can Work It Out.

5.) 25 May 2022 10:23:57
Why let it be? Why would you want a homophobic presence in the club?

6.) 25 May 2022 10:50:09
Cornet is a good shout. Low buyout clause because of relegation. Can play anywhere on the left and has stood out in an otherwise dire Burnley side, can play left back, left midfield, left wing or through the middle up front. Can even play right wing and cut in on his left. Almost the perfect Milner swiss Army knife utility type player who can fill a variety of roles. Nice squad option👌.

Also has a good record of scoring against Man City.

{Ed001's Note - and we have shown interest in him in the past when he was younger.}

7.) 25 May 2022 12:01:04
Off the top of my head, Max Aarons (Norwich) and Joao Pedro (Watford) come to mind.

{Ed002's Note - Cornet is already considering an offer from elsewhere. Aarons won't move to be cover. Joao Pedro would be an interesting option.}

8.) 25 May 2022 11:19:33
Oh, he meant Freddie Starr? I thought he was talking about Ringo.

9.) 25 May 2022 11:19:10
Cornet could prove to be a shrewd little signing, especially if Millie, the Ox and/ or Minamino end up leaving.

10.) 25 May 2022 12:39:04
Best out of the bunch would be Pedro, Cornet potentially Foster on a free if Adrian is going as a third choice GK English aswell might appeal to a lot of clubs.

{Ed002's Note - Forster has a greed a move elsewhere already. Cornet will be moving elsewhere.}

11.) 25 May 2022 12:39:36
Whos interested in cornet eds. has a few goals and assist this season. Sure he would jump at the chance.

{Ed002's Note - Wrong page - this is the Liverpool page.

12.) 25 May 2022 13:19:38
Collins from Burnley. Only 19 but plays like a seasoned pro. A right back or centre back. Great tackler and positioning and passer of ball. A gem of a player. huge potential. I think his father was on the lfc books in early 90s but never made a first team appearance.

13.) 25 May 2022 14:08:04
@Magico1234 - Tottenham.

14.) 25 May 2022 18:45:03
Reynard cheers. putting together a dec3nt forward line spurs then.

You said yesterday Micheal Edwards is going to leave next summer looking for new challenge. Is there friction with Klopp or management? Does he want to have full power of sporting director? Has there been players he wanted to sell and/ or buy and he's been denied? Is there a job he's eyeing? I look at Arsenal, Man City if they clean house after pep leaves, he came from Spurs but they got guys in this year if he's looking to take over, don't see jobs on the continent available where he could spend more than we have, there is language barrier possibly also. Eds talked about a guy working with or under Edwards that club are very high on, maybe even refused to let go when other clubs approached, is he going to slide in and take over for Edwards once he departs? Was just shocked to see Eds say that he's leaving and hoping for better and bigger picture that I can understand with your help.

mflis

{Ed002's Note - No I don’t think there is any issue, his contract is running out, he has delivered and now has the opportunity to look at new options. It is a natural progression.}

1.) 01 Sep 2021 22:39:33
I doubt we will need a replacement as we don't sign anyone anymore 😉.

2.) 02 Sep 2021 00:47:50
Am I right in saying since brexit it’s easier to bring in young players from South America? Easier than say eastern Europe anyway as far as i know. Definitely talent to be snapped up. Lazaro and Gabriel Veron I heard are good players.

3.) 02 Sep 2021 10:42:26
It’s easier if they want to drive a HGV or pull pints in Wetherspoons 🤣.

{Ed002's Note - To answer the previous question Brexit makes no difference to the rules for South Americans.}

mflis

{Ed002's Note - I am sorry but I don't understand - are you suggesting that UEFA offered money to stop all of this nonsense? That would be a great ploy as the UEFA could then charge the clubs over allowing third party interference. Do you think it soungds plausible?}

1.) 22 Apr 2021 02:22:00
it doesn't sound plausible at all lol But! Once it's known, I'd be keen to know whether these clubs did manage to force UEFA into negotiations after all this hooplah and what they settled on.

2.) 22 Apr 2021 07:59:30
OP, I don’t believe that for a second. Do you have any idea how big of a payoff that would be for each club? Someone’s teasing you, bro.

28 Dec 2020 09:53:21
Hey Eds, I have a broad type question to you, hope you don't think of me as a total weasel for asking this, with the C.V. economics of football, I would imagine teams not in europe, in leagues with small tv deals, where teams rely much more on attendence, teams will have to shed assets, best players to stay afloat. I have read EDs recent post about managing wage bill, but do you know if Liverpool have looked at at possibility of some really good young players being available at steep discount because club needs to balance the books? Are the owners, Klopp willing to go that route? Can you name any young players from financially hit clubs/ leagues that would be good enough to be squad players and develop into first team players?

Thank you.

mflis

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool have very significant financial issues and will need to balance the books or borrow against future predicted earnings. The will not be able to sign 16 and 17 year old players from Europe after January 1. The squad management of youngsters has been poor and they need to bring club developed players through if they are going to fulfil future quotas.}

Hi Eds, wanted to ask you about two players, Ozan Kabak and Jean Clair Tobido. What's your opinion of the players? Have we looked at either one? Think Tobido is out of contract in the summer.

mflis

{Ed002's Note - Questions like this really belong on the European pages - these are no more than random names. But as it is Jacques Cartier's birthday, Ozan Kabak is a good CB who has signed a new contract with Galatasaray so any immediate move is unlikely - and to boost his value - but much is expected of Kabak and he has attracted scouts from Manchester City, RB Leipzig, Arsenal, Fortuna Dusseldorf, Manchester United and, in particular, Inter Milan whose interest (together with Manchester City) led to the new contract.Todibo is of interest to Wolves, Marseille, Napoli, RBL, Borussia Dortmund, Inter, Barcelona, Lyon and Juventus.

Liverpool has shown no interest in either and is well stocked with CBs. I refer you to the Sharkopod.}

1.) 31 Dec 2018 20:44:14
Ed2, everyone knows that he was born 23rd December, same as Johann Siebenkas 😅
I only kid - please be kind.
And while I am on here, happy new year to you and all the other eds on here, the web will be pretty empty without this fantastically addictive site!

beat me to it robbie23, that had united signing all over it, there is certainly feeling of changing of a guard at bayern that's coming, Kimmich, Muller, Sane all been in the rumor mill a lot of this past couple months.

West Derby, while winning is good, I never thought winning at the academy level was the most important thing, it's about developing players skill levels for me.

I'll throw a curve ball, move Darwin Nunez to the right to replace Salah, he has had some success playing on the right and buy another forward/ striker or possibly attacking midfielder.

I really don't want Leroy Sane, too old, Klopp does best and gets best results with young, talented and hungry players. Sane is talented but never striked me hungry player.

It's not chinese superleague where every team was throwing money around, I believe it's only 4 teams throwing stupid money around and they actually have foreign quotas too I believe,

Truth is, we need couthinho like infusion of money to rebuild the squad, I know one of the eds have said over and over we are against the wall at what we can spend and Matip needs replacing, VVD has not been the same since the injury, we will need to find long term Fabinho replacement, if you look at Klopps players, those that do a LOT of running like Robertson usually don't age well, more like fall off the cliff, so possibly Robertson replacement, and depending how you feel about current forwards, Salah replacement.

He'll score some goals, but he's taking a spot of their 2 best forwards, left forward drifting inside is Rashfords thing, Greenwood will probably have become a Benzema type decoy runner to make space for Ronaldo instead of developing and scoring. Be interesting how he and Fernandez get along. We know he won't press, so other guys will have to do the running. I think if EPL club made a bid for Greenwood with good wages, he would go now.
