Probably a question for Ed002 if you have a moment:
Reports in Italy that Juve might consider selling Bremer to raise funds this summer - despite him only having moved there last summer.
You mentioned previously that Liverpool did have an interest back in '21, but opted to go elsewhere (Konate i assume) .
Would Bremer likely be on the radar again? . Big, quick and has experience playing in a back 3.
Oh, and thanks again for all the work you and the other Ed's put into this site. Much appreciated.

TrickyT

{Ed002's Note - Gleison Bremer (CB) Juventus do not want to sell and the player wishes to stay the club but need to raise funds which has led to his representatives testing the waters with Spurs and Chelsea to see if there is interest.}

'And the sun shines now. '

Thinking of the victims and their families, the survivors, and everyone affected by that horrible day 35 years ago.

Never forgotten.

Great result last night. Was at the back of the Annie Road with my lad - been a while, but loved it.

Mac excellent throughout; Robbo's introduction changed the game, but a word for Virj, Ibou and Joe who i thought were very good.

And how can you not love Captain Chaos?

TrickyT

1.) 05 Apr 2024 09:24:24
TT, I thought Gakpo (even before his goal) looked very sharp and gave us a spark. Took his goal well. Dare I say, this is one game where I think every single player who came on gave us a jolt in energy and quality, IMO.

2.) 05 Apr 2024 09:42:54
Gomez was at fault for their goal and we lacked width due him being out of position. Other than that agree with everything else you said though. Robbo, Virg, Ibou and Nunez were superb. As was Macca and also I thought Szoboszlai had his best game for some time. Unlucky not to come away with a goal and an assist, but for 2 good saves from Grbic.

3.) 05 Apr 2024 13:42:21
Cheers Oli and MK, i agree that all of the subs were superb last night - really helped us get a vital win.

And on another night, Slob scores one and makes one.

I mentioned Joe as he was asked to play 2 positions, neither of which are natural to him. Maybe he dived in a bit for their goal, but that was his only mistake of the night - and to be fair, that move started further up the pitch with Diaz and Nunez botching a break.

Anyway, a good win and great to be there.

4.) 05 Apr 2024 15:00:03
Tricky Gomez gave the ball away quite a bit last night and I thought he went in extremely half hearted for their goal.

Not a slating of him as I thought he done lots right as well but just an honest opinion of what I saw.

5.) 05 Apr 2024 15:31:49
Gomez was not on it, TT. He just looked tried and seemed to be stretching on every ball, slack in his passing and dived in a bit too much into challenges as the one that led to the goal proves. He's been splendid for us overall BUT thatwas not his best game esp. when he switched to DM which made it even more complicated as that's where we lost control.

6.) 05 Apr 2024 21:48:21
Agree Oli, Joe looked a split second off the pace.

Also time for me to eat another slice of humble pie. I was vocal about Darwin not being ‘up to it’ earlier in the season. I have to say I was ‘spot off’. The lad is a constant threat to the opposition either in terms of goal attempts or running the opposition ragged making space for the rest of out attack to use. Happy to admit that I was was way, way off the mark on this one.

Klopp's greatest achievement at LFC, IMO.

Thank you Jurgen, for everything.

Totally gutted, but completely understand.

Words cannot express my gratitude for what this man has done for us. He deserves to go out on his own terms and he has.

Immortal.

Fallen out with FSG. Possibly to do with a deal with Saudi/ Chinese takeover. Don't shoot messenger. Just something I have heard from somoene quite reliable. They have tried to convince him to stay.

There is talks he isn't well also Dunno with what tho.

They want x amount for club and it is currently short by around 1bn. Again just what I have heard. Posted before but forgot my username.

Here come the conspiracy theories ….

3.) 26 Jan 2024 12:15:32
SCOUSE10, too soon with conspiracy theories, bro. Just saying.

4.) 26 Jan 2024 12:28:33
Not a conspiracy theory. Just got told it by someone who is well connected to the club. And very close to me.

Speaks to a lot of people within the club still. And still works in football. Just not liverpool anymore.

So not a conspiracy. Just what iv been told and passed on. Apparently you can't post that on a rumours site anymore. Keyboard warriors/ and champ manager experts know better. Hence when other things have happened never bothered.

I was told earlier this morning. He heard last night.

5.) 26 Jan 2024 20:02:21
SCOUSE10, save all the childish insults cos it's just white noise which does nothing for me. I gave an opinion and that's it. So cos I disagree with your take, Im now a keyboard warriror? N btw, I don't play video games either. Take a day off, man.

Anyone else seen the article on TIA quoting Ljinders taking the 'credit' for the inverted full back system change?

Even stated he'd bet his salary on it working.

TrickyT

1.) 24 Aug 2023 18:01:36
Yes, yes saw it already. They should deduct all the damage done from his salary and then make him work for the next two years for free. ?

Sorry, but Herr Klopp is not free from blame for having listened, and continuing to listem, to the fool in the first place.

2.) 24 Aug 2023 18:22:00
Agree ArAy, Klopp needs to earn his money and start dictating the team himself again. We’ve gone from having an absolutely fantastic system to an utter disaster since Lijnders got his hands on it.

There is a reason he got sacked by a Dutch 2nd division team and nobody has offered him a number 1 role since. Guardiola’s assistant regularly get offered jobs, nobody touches Lijnders with a 10 foot pole

I’m aware I’m probably being too harsh on him. But I’m going to do it anyway because I find him really irritating, he’s like a Dutch Brendan Rodgers - but even more David Brent-like.

3.) 24 Aug 2023 18:45:57
Its not a bad style of play but we just don't have the right players. . We just have 3 world defenders that are the requirements for this style.

4.) 24 Aug 2023 19:23:47
It's worked so far.

5.) 24 Aug 2023 20:46:29
Not sure Klopp really cares about all that cos he ain't that insecure and to him, the credit is shared among the staff so if one is out there tooting his own horn then, I bet he is fine with it. Just my take.

6.) 24 Aug 2023 21:27:48
Have I missed something? We were doing badly until we changed the system. We are 13 games unbeaten since, is the system perfect no, but what is? Other teams will always find gaps in any system, but it is up to the coaching staff to counteract that.

Not all great coaches, make great managers. Ljinders may have got the sack as a manager, but Klopp has always praised him for his coaching abilities. You may not like the system, but I think for now it is here to stay.

7.) 25 Aug 2023 01:08:32
To those who say we're winning with this new hybrid system, so what's the big deal? Comparison is always with a point of reference. If you compare the last 13 games with the first 25, then yes the new system is better because the form earlier last season was disastrous. But if your point of reference is the year or two before then we are still not near that form or performance levels. And that's why there is a worry. We won titles with that earlier form and system, why can't it be done again? This new hybrid system just corrected the earlier issues of last year. Am not sure it makes us title contenders as before.

If you need an example of what the right or wrong tactics can do for / to a player, look at Amorim’s current star striker - Viktor Gyokores.

In Brighton’s system he looked like a player who’d struggle to get a game on Stanley Park.

But stick him with 2 managers who play to his strengths (Robins at Cov and Amorim at Sporting) and he’s flying.

To be fair to Darwin, he was beginning to look like he could be the real deal - then we inexplicably decided to revert to the late years Wenger / Guardiola lite style of play that was such a disaster last season (presumably to boost Ljinders stock for job interviews or push sales of his book) .

It doesn’t suit him - or most of the squad tbh - and just exposes the weaknesses in his game.

Hopefully Amorim and his coaching staff play to his strengths and we can see the real Captain Chaos again.

Ed, is there any chance when Enrique said (paraphrasing) ‘he’s our player’ about Gravenberch, he meant the agency, not Liverpool?

{Ed002's Note - Of course not.}

Decent player, but looking good against our midfield this season is hardly a badge of honour.
Bit like when Skrtel and Coates made that lad from Oldham look like prime Drogba back in 2013.

I think the key word in there is indecisive. I noticed it in the Sheff Utd game. Until the subs came on, we didn’t seem decisive enough in the final 3rd - which meant we didn’t put them away and had to work very hard for what should have been a routine win.

Still, we are in with a big shout of the title with 7 games to go - after last season, i’d have taken that last August.

Enjoy Wassa.

For me, days like this are a testament to what this club is all about. A sell out, the enthusiasm of fans, officials, ex-players - and the genuine display of respect for Sven. Not sure it could happen anywhere else.

Massive respect to the foundation and all the work they do - hope it’s a brilliant day for all involved.
