Daniel Farke Is Still The Right Man For Leeds United

11 Dec 2025 07:39:02
{Ed's Note - OptimistPesimistt has posted a new article entitled, Daniel Farke Is Still The Right Man For Leeds United

11 Dec 2025 06:18:52
Hindsight is a wonderful thing but do wonder if Alonso thinks he should’ve been our next coach after Klopp instead of that poisonous toxic club that is Real Madrid but now I get the feeling he may be damaged goods. Think if he gets the sack from Real he needs a break to reevaluate. Like to know ed001 thoughts.

{Ed078's Note - I think Xabi is strong enough to move on if needed, without any "damage". Ed001 may well have more informed opinions.

11 Dec 2025 07:27:20
If Alonso had no connection to Liverpool, there’s no way fans would be excited at taking him as a Manager. A manager who has failed in 15 games at Real Madrid and couldn’t control the dressing room.

I thought we had issues in the dressing room. If he doesn’t have the personality to deal with their players and can’t win games he should with their team why does everyone think he could do it at Liverpool.

Agree5

11 Dec 2025 07:33:04
On the other hand it might be a welcome relief. Who knows how he's feeling, what the club's are planning and how things will turn out.
I think he did the right think staying in Germany an extra year.

Agree2

11 Dec 2025 07:57:01
Because Liverpool don't have the poisonous dressing room culture and sense of entitlement of Real Madrid. Ancelotti himself said that he didn't try to do much coaching at Real Madrid, he had a very hands-off approach. Xabi is trying to coach the team, and it's a long term project that will alienate some players used to having certain privileges and other players, often unexpected, coming to the fore and shining. Guler and Carreras have been superb under him, and he looks to be bringing Gonzalo Garcia through the ranks slowly.

Every time Perez has been convinced to hire a 'project' manager who will coach the team and drill a certain philosophy into them, they abort the project halfway through once players start to kick up a fuss and results don't go their way. It's going that way again, which is par for the course for Madrid, I don't think it's a stain on Xabi's resume necessarily though, it took quite a bit of courage for him to take the job knowing what was at stake.

Agree9

11 Dec 2025 08:13:51
It sounds like the players have turned on him or are making life difficult, he has tried to instill professionalism and structure and the players do like it. From what I understand or have read is that player were allowed to go on holidays during the first half of the season under previous managers and Alonso has put a stop to that.

Players have been going over his head to Perez and that has made things extremely difficult, basically undermining him.

I don't judge any manager that fails at real madrid as it isn't run like any other team in the world.

Agree3

11 Dec 2025 08:16:56
Also, like PB says, Ancelotti said there wasnt much coaching happening. He had said that they would work on tactics in the week and then the players wouldn't bother to use them in the game.

Agree2

11 Dec 2025 08:27:01
I’m not sold on Alonso but how has he failed in 15 games at Madrid? That’s just daft.

Agree5

11 Dec 2025 08:48:28
Exactly, PB. That RM dressing room has destroyed the reputation of many a top manager so saying that Xabi "failed" to control such a toxic dressing room hence, to say he is suddenly a poor manager is just ludicrous stuff. If that DR has destroyed other top managers then, what chance does a project manager like Alonso have esp. when trying to instill discipline and professionalism into the team? Yeah, none at all.

If people don't want Xabi here then, that's fine but using the extreme situations that like that of RM whose DR ate Ancelotti up and spat him out TWICE despite winning lots of pots with them btw, is not a valid argument to make. There are other arguments BUT this ain't one of them, IMO.

Oh and should he come to us (not sure he will), he has a certain Florian Wirtz to work with which can only be good for both parties and the team, IMO.

Agree3

11 Dec 2025 08:49:43
Didn't he win 13 out of the first 14 games or something? Reading what's coming out of Spain, it seems it's more to do with the players not getting on board with his ideas as he is trying to increase fitness, running etc and sounds like they can't be bothered!

Agree1

11 Dec 2025 09:12:36
Real are 4 pts off Barcelona and currently sitting in 2nd place.
I’d hardly call that failing in your first 15 games.

Agree4

11 Dec 2025 09:55:45
Real Madrid - Last 15 games, won 8, lost 3, drawn 4 - failed.
What do you call a star player coming out and attacking the manager and club then which we’ve all seen v some rumours of dressing room unrest no one actually knows about in Madrid.
Some people on here just have a vendetta against Slot. The guy who took us higher than Utd in main trophies.

I honestly thought this site was the best discussion site over last few years but now post Ed02 it resembles other social media sites with lots of BS from people ITK all contradicting each other and people taking that as gospel if it feeds their view and jumping on bandwagons. The actual discussion has gone.

Agree1

11 Dec 2025 10:24:53
His side are second in La Liga, four points adrift of Barca, and the 15-time winners are in the Champions League top-eight on goal difference.

Alonso would bring the cohesion, intensity and trianing regieme that we need and which is required for the prem. He gets the league.

PB's points are spot on.

Agree3

11 Dec 2025 11:45:56
I thought PaddyB was being ironic saying we don’t have a poisonous dressing room culture and sense of entitlement.

We’re not on the scale of RM, but the dressing room seems pretty poisonous at the moment, our fans are turning on a title winning manager after 14 games and ask Newcastle if we’re seen as entitled.

Agree0

11 Dec 2025 12:13:17
Rojack how does Alonso get the Premier League and stuie we won our first 6 games this season. People can look for differences in Slots and Alonso's situation all they want but the reality is there are none. And this is from a Xabi Alonso fan.

Agree1

11 Dec 2025 12:48:00
More wins than losses now means a manager has failed? Yeah, got it.

Agree1

11 Dec 2025 13:28:03
Nice one Oli as you really don’t get much.

Agree1

11 Dec 2025 13:38:24
Slot also has more wins than losses. Just saying.

Agree0

11 Dec 2025 15:54:26
Just to clarify my opinion and in part, a return of serve to WM73; I have zero vendetta v AS. None whatsoever. I just don't believe he's the correct person in charge of first team affairs anymore. To come from the position of champions to where we are now just cannot be acceptable to anyone, or perhaps it can.

But it isn't for me. There may be many mitigating factors for this but ultimately it's his can to carry and he should have the nous to preempt and contain or control the issues at hand. He doesn't have it. Any manager capable of managing Liverpool NEEDS to have it. Or else the results are plain to see for one and all.

Agree1

10 Dec 2025 23:43:04
Bild are reporting that Salah has an issue with Wirtz as he’s being touted as the future of Liverpool.

I’m not saying I believe this but you can see what Salah’s outburst has caused. These rumours won’t stop until he’s gone.

11 Dec 2025 00:31:53
Thought you was sick of talking about Salah.

Agree10

11 Dec 2025 00:35:58
Bild is just Germany's bog standard rag no need to ever share what they say here.

Agree8

11 Dec 2025 00:44:35
loving all the rumours lol

this is one that doesn't pass the sniff test for me.

As deluded as Mo has been recently, surely even he knows he isn't the future of this club.

Lol, Stroms - you beat me to it mate.

Agree5

11 Dec 2025 03:53:42
Sean, just yesterday you said you were sick of talking about Salah. Yet here you are, blabbing about him again. You already forgot about what you said yesterday? It's not even 24 hours yet.

Agree6

11 Dec 2025 07:33:04
I’m declaring Friday as Alonso Day and everybody has to make stuff up about him rather than the Egyptian fella. It’ll make a nice change. Or perhaps, God forbid, we can even discuss the Brighton game?

Agree2

11 Dec 2025 07:34:52
Is Sean Dundee not a fan of Mo Salah?

Professional jealousy is ugly.

Agree2

11 Dec 2025 08:41:49
Nice one WDW! I second that motion!

Agree0

11 Dec 2025 08:50:27
@Sean, quoting stuff from German rags is fine as this is a rumours page. Just don't get mad when people dismiss it.

Oh and that rumour is something anyone on the planet can make up under the circumstances.

Agree1

11 Dec 2025 08:51:00
Salah. I think Sean Dundee secretly loves him but can't admit it ha.

A good Alonso story to have a look at is the Peter Crouch podcast and the hotel receptionist.

Agree0

10 Dec 2025 23:03:24
Hahaha, certainly feels like that Ron.

Yeah Scouse, it wasn't a great performance at all but I'm clutching on hope these days. Truth be told, I'm not even sure where my hope is being channeled as it's been such an indifferent season.

Agree2

10 Dec 2025 23:10:46
Just seen Alonso outside the chippy. He said he misses the Rain and is thinking about renting a terrace in Bootle 👀.

Agree2

{Ed078's Note - nonsense, he's more a Walton lover. Too much chance of bumping into Carragher in Bootle

10 Dec 2025 23:15:00
I'm with you Ron. not sure its the right choice if all is as reported!

Agree1

10 Dec 2025 23:23:35
Was a great game though.

Agree0

11 Dec 2025 04:11:49
Lol Faith, Real Madrid has win more and lose less matches than Liverpool this season. Wouldn't that make Slot a failure as well?

Agree2

11 Dec 2025 07:27:02
Doku was superb, it was an exciting fast game, and enjoyable football watch.

Agree0

11 Dec 2025 08:51:30
Ed078, and we wouldn't want that now, would we?

A post a few weeks back claimed that gvb was potentially off to manage a club abroad. Has anyone got more updates on this and I would love to hear thoughts from people about this and if we got a new assistant manager then this change could have a positive impact on rest of squad.

Is gvb highly thought of by the squad or would a change suit all parties and who would a potential new assistant manager be.

10 Dec 2025 22:04:49
Real Madrid got beat, hopefully press conference Anfield tomorrow,

Xabi New Manager? Stevie G Head Coach? What a fantastic Christmas Present?

Agree1

{Ed025's Note - if you think having Gerrard as your head coach is a fantastic "Christmas present" bond...im glad you were not my Santa mate..

10 Dec 2025 22:20:02
With you Ed025. I'm sure Ed01 has said more than once, and I agree with him, that Gerrard relies on a team of people around him to coach. I certainly don't want to see him in my stocking, thanks very much.

Agree2

{Ed025's Note - that would give credence that the Grinch story is true Rome..

10 Dec 2025 22:20:47
Gerrard? I seriously hope your messing 007 absolutely horrendous decision.

Agree3

10 Dec 2025 22:25:36
Don’t know about head coach, but maybe on the team. Teach the midfielders a couple of things.

Agree0

10 Dec 2025 22:44:29
Milner over Gerrard thanks.

Agree6

10 Dec 2025 23:12:33
Gerrard is a good coach, not a good tactician. Form all accounts, he was very good in his spell at the academy. As long as he comes back in that capacity, he will be a success.

Agree4

11 Dec 2025 01:41:10
How about Heitinga back replacing GVB.

Agree1

11 Dec 2025 06:13:54
Spot on Ron. Milner would bond those players again and repair the damage in my opinion.

11 Dec 2025 12:49:28
That was funny Ed25, I must admit. Bravo, sir.

Agree0

{Ed025's Note - cheers Oli

10 Dec 2025 21:08:01
Hi Eds or anyone itk,

With Slot seemingly suggesting there's a way back for Mo if he acknowledges his poor behaviour and apologises do you expect this to happen? And if they can't sort things out do you expect it to be one or both who leave regardless?

Thanks in advance.

{Ed025's Note - i think if Mo wanted to ever play for Liverpool again then he would have to apologize KK, not only to the manager but also the club his team mates and the supporters, do i think he will?...i hope so but no, whether or not Slot goes as well would be determined by results and a better style of play i imagine mate, but that is just my opinion..

10 Dec 2025 22:05:41
If the club really wanted to move Salah on as he has implied, he shot himself in the foot. There may have been backlash from the fans about a transfer a month ago but sadly there will be a lot more supporters happy to cash in after his recent dummy spit.

Agree4

10 Dec 2025 22:13:55
May be there is something happened behind Salah back which got him frustrated and gave that interview. As I read that Salah was not on Slot plan. He signed new contract so he can sell him in January to generate some funds for new transfer. He knew Saudi are interested in him.

Agree1

{Ed025's Note - a lot of Bollox is being assumed on this Yaz, truth is there are only a very few people who know the real truth mate, all those who profess to know the in,s and out,s of what went on are blaggers imo, if i told you a space ship came down last night and landed in my garden would you take it as gospel?, the truth will out in the end i suppose but until then people have got to stop being so gullible..

10 Dec 2025 22:30:25
Slot got bumped into that position regarding a way back for Mo by the questions the pundits asked at full time. He wouldn’t have offered it voluntarily.

Like Ed I doubt Mo will apologise, but let’s see. Whilst Arne did on the face of it leave a way back, he seemed really fed up with both the questions that were asked and the issue as a whole which makes you wonder if a reconciliation is realistic.

On Alonso he’ll be scarred a bit by the Madrid experience if he leaves, not exactly ideal prep for his next position.

Agree1

11 Dec 2025 08:32:05
Ed025 - did it land in your front garden or your back one.

Agree0

{Ed025's Note - the back one KBL, you should see the marks its left on my astroturf mate...bloody aliens.. :)

Hi diddly Ho,

I’ve reason to believe that Salah isn’t pushing to leave the club - he wants to continue playing at the club, at the highest level.

Please be careful when reading and interpreting what the media are putting out - neither the club nor Salah have been correctly portrayed in the situation.

Diddly out.

10 Dec 2025 20:19:43
All we know for sure is that Salah was dropped for 3 games and then he decided to speak to the media. Everything else is just guesswork and speculation.

Agree4

{Ed025's Note - absolutely Thunderbird..

10 Dec 2025 20:48:30
I hope he does stay, but if it's truly him being dropped for 3 games and he's done this then he needs to sort his attitude.

I know apparently we're offering him around why not say that, wouldn't be any worse than what he's done anyway.

Agree2

PS. thanks for the info Ned. Keep it coming mate.

And so the games begin. all posturing.

Agree0

10 Dec 2025 22:50:23
I don’t care who the player is or was, you can’t have players breaking ranks and criticising the club to the press. Not if you want to be successful.

He didn’t criticise Slot, he criticised the club.

Legend and all that accepted he absolutely should go because this is not his first transgression. He tried it with Klopp too. Not just the antics against West Ham, also the constant “gimme a contract” drama.

He should not be given the opportunity to sabotage another manager, sorry, but if he stays it will happen again and again.

Sell him ASAP and it will all blow over. Keep him and it will be a story every time he’s not on the pitch (subbed or not selected) .

Agree4

10 Dec 2025 23:09:45
personally hope we move on in Jan.

I had the same thought about Stevie before his last, that we should have moved on.

As much as we can talk about transitioning to life post-Mo, players with his kind of personality / ego are difficult to transition out unless he has a change of heart and is ok with being out of the spotlight.

As it is currently, that doesn't appear to be what will happen, so I think we should take the chance now to move him on and bring in a player in jan.

My ideal transfers over the next two windows for the attacking group would be to move on Mo and Gakpo for Semenyo and Olise.

Agree1

10 Dec 2025 23:34:25
What I don’t understand is people saying the club are out of order for trying to sell him to Saudi (if that ever even happened) .

Didn’t Klopp get criticised for being too loyal to players who were past it? Didn’t we hope that Slot was a bit more ruthless?

If the Saudi rumours are true we are doing exactly what people were asking us to do.

And if that is true I understand Salah being upset. His life is in Liverpool, his kids are basically scousers and the rug is being pulled from under him but that is still no excuse for whinging to the press claiming he’s been ‘thrown under the bus’ whilst he throws the manager and his team mates under the next bus (they always come in twos don’t they) .

The fact is he’s the highest paid player in our history and he’s not delivering. that's why he was dropped and that’s why the club are open to selling him. The answer? Play better and you wouldn’t be in this situation in the first place.

Agree2

11 Dec 2025 00:46:28
Sean - yup, fans will always want something / someone else.

Agree0

11 Dec 2025 09:03:51
Sean if the club wanted to sell Salah after they gave him the new contract then, that don't make any sense. And if they did that then, did they tell him and his team that at the start?

Was there any comms. btw the concerned parties cos Salah is saying things were done behind his back? Should we just ignore these gaps, not address Salah's accusations to the club, and just blame Salah? Sorry, I won't. My thing is that there are WAY too many gaps to fill here esp. from the club's side cos clearly, both parties cannot be telling the truth here.

To me, someone is lying here and if that is the case, I'm not taking the club's side either cos like it or lump it, this makes them look bad regardless people trying to blame Salah for all and sundry. A terrible look for them, in fact and no amount of Jaime Carrager's bent "crash-outs" is going to change that, IMO.

Agree0

10 Dec 2025 18:28:51
I like slot, he seems like a decent bloke so hope he can turn this around and keep his job! But I do feel like mo has been very hard done by here, think one thing that has gone unnoticed was slots interview after the westham game when the reporter asked him about Joe gomez and how solid he was, slots response was, he got a lot of help down the right side from dom.

Clearly a dig in the direction of mo made in public! It looks like he needs to work on his man management but hopefully this gets resolved and mo can come back into the team! Our away fans were fantastic and singing for slots was a nice touch! Hopefully we sing for both slot and mo at the weekend!

10 Dec 2025 18:58:54
Was it clearly a dig, is this where we are now? And even if it was the whole liverpool fanbase were having a go for his lack of workrate. Or is that all forgotten now?

Agree5

10 Dec 2025 19:37:15
Awful manager and doubtful he can turn it around. Has the team playing horrible football. Hopefully someone else takes over soon.

Agree7

10 Dec 2025 20:07:44
In an ideal world Slot can start getting a tune out of this team and secure a top four finish, but come the summer he has to go.

If anything last nights conservative display has raised more questions, why not do this ten games ago instead of persisting with the rubbish that was being served up.

Agree3

10 Dec 2025 20:40:10
What's up, Whatsup? You don't seem happy. It's only 15 more sleeps to Xmas. Maybe Santa will buy you a new manager.

Agree4

10 Dec 2025 21:01:38
Lack of workrate?

You do realise that Slot was the one, who when he joined last season, told Mo that he didn't expect Mo to do as much defensive work as Klopp wanted him to do.

Agree5

10 Dec 2025 21:02:06
I thought it was a dig aswel to Salah . Slot if he doesn't want to play you, won't praise you either, when Cheisa saved that last minute shot, Slot praised Alisson instead . he has his favourites.

Agree5

10 Dec 2025 21:04:05
Maybe its the Head Coach "s ego.

Agree2

10 Dec 2025 22:18:08
I'd prefer if it was only one more sleep till slot gets sacked.

Agree2

11 Dec 2025 01:04:28
Florian, yes to me it seems like a direct dig at mo! Do you think it's alright for slot to do that in public just because some fans think he's not working hard enough? Does that make mo right calling slot out because plenty of fans think he doesn't have a clue either! I'm pretty sure I seen the running stats and mo has covered more ground this season than last season.

And if slot thought mo wasnt defending properly, maybe it would have been a good idea to play a defender at rb instead of our best midfielder for most of the season!

Agree1

11 Dec 2025 09:10:36
JLC, Salah wasn't doing that much defensive work for years already under Klopp so I don't know why this is being seen as such a shocker. We all knew this at the time. Sadio Mane gave an interview to Rio a couple of weeks back and he said that was the deal everyone agreed to under Klopp and he personally, was fine with it. This ain't new.

As you said, he and Slot agreed the exact same thing last season and Salah delivered. The issue here is that the way we are playing now now is diff. (hugging the touchline a bit more) and I have never seen Slot say Salah may need to track back a bit this season as a result. I could be wrong.

Agree0

10 Dec 2025 15:29:18
Hi all, Eds especially ed01 as I would love your opinion on this. This is usually the same pattern with this team, Allison gets injured and our number 2 keeper causes our defense to lose confidence as they aren't anywhere near AB1 level and the team completely implodes however, previous times the team was fairly settled and didn't have as many new signings and Salah always seemed to save us with goals and/ or assists.

Then AB1 returns and the defense slowly starts to gain confidence.

This current situation, we have a host of new signings bedding in, Salah still getting used to the new signings and not being as effective.

I love AB1 as he is the best in the world but he's injured a lot in a season and it detrimental to the team every single time.

Either we find a really quality number 2 or we find really good number 1 who doesn't get injured as much.

I have nothing against AB1 I just feel he causes so much harm to the team when he isn't there.

Ed01 what do you think?

{Ed001's Note - I don't believe it is just down to him, as they were abysmal before he got injured.}

10 Dec 2025 18:26:30
Ab1 cannot cover every flaw of each defender, flawed though he himself is, of course!

Agree5

10 Dec 2025 18:29:06
That's quite unreasonable. No elite goalkeeper would come to be our No.2. And there's hardly anyone better than Ali, so no point replacing him. Also Kelleher was a very good No.2, and I don't think we can hope for someone better than his level to be agree to be a No.2. Mama right now doesn't look a great fit, but let's hope he grows into it.

Agree3

10 Dec 2025 19:15:14

Agree0

11 Dec 2025 09:18:33
"Then AB1 returns and the defense slowly starts to gain confidence. ".

When did this happen? I must have missed the 3 goals we conceded in 25 mins vs Leeds with AB1 in goal even tho, none of the goals were his fault. The goals we conceded vs Leeds was due to poor defensive tactics by the manager trying to sit deep, something we are not good at.

Also, are you saying that the constant individual mistakes leading to goals (as well as the poor def. tactics from Slot) are also Marma's fault? Mate, trying to scapegoat Marma (who did no harm in his tenure, IMO) is just lazy and of poor taste cos as Ed01 said, we were abysmal defensively when Ali was fit and IMO, same goes for Marma (who kept clean sheets vs RM and Villa, btw) .

Do better, mate. The scapegoating is just pathetic at this point.

Agree0

10 Dec 2025 15:14:54
Is Semenyo rated that highly that he would be a heir to Salah? Iv not taken in his play much to have a real opinion on him.

If he comes in, he needs to concentrate on being the best version of Semenyo. Nothing else.

Between Wirtz, Isak, Semenyo, Gakpo, Chiesa and Ekitike we should be able to form a formidable attack. It doesn't look like one right now but there's enough quality there to scare teams if performing to their level. Isak is really really struggling right now. Have to get him and Wirtz to their worldy best. That has to be the key to a successful team.

10 Dec 2025 17:00:56
I would say in terms of replacing Salah's output, that will have to come from Isak and Wirtz.

Semenyo, if we sign him, would offer some direct pace and power with a decent output, rather than a world class output like Mo has been delivering year on year.

Other than possibly Estevao, I don't think there's any player in the world that has the ability to replicate what Mo has done for us on the right hand side.

10 Dec 2025 17:01:01
I'm not sure anyone could replace him TBH but we have to adapt.
It just hasn't worked this season. Our game is just way too slow.

Under Klopp I honestly used to like it when we had to defend a corner. I always seen it as a chance for us to break at speed running direct at the opposition.

The way we play now I think Slot would drop anybody who tried to do it.

His ethos seems to be camp on the edge of the final 3rd our outside their 19 yard box. Pass it relentlessly until
We get board then try a silly pass to break the lines. Loose the ball and have to many players to far forward.

Say what you see.

Much better last night

YNWA.

He's class, and has a brilliant attitude plus a great work rate. Seems like a good bloke too, after he was abused by that colin, from our fan base, he handled it extremely well, would be a terrific signing for us, IMO.

Agree4

10 Dec 2025 16:18:28
I don't think you should look on him as an heir to Salah. Rather, he is a foil to the players we already have, with Isak, Wirtz and Ekitike the new spearheads of the attack. As far as hardworking, two-footed, incredibly fast and muscular wingers who excel in one on one situations and can go inside or outside go, he is probably the best out there for the price being discussed.

I think his end product still needs some work, particularly when it comes to creating for others, but off the ball he is already a smart and willing runner, I think he will do a lot of sacrificial work to make things easier for our attacking players.

Agree4

10 Dec 2025 16:24:56
Isak and Wirtz are the Salah replacements.

If we were to get him, I imagine Semenyo would pick up a facilitative role in the team.

Its never going to be like for like because of what Mo has achieved for us but yeah he is great, two footed, hard working, scores, assists and can play anywhere across the front line, good age and homegrown.
In my opinion every bit a Liverpool player.

I don’t think we necessarily need an heir to Salah Snoots.

We’ve been spoilt by having a RW who scores as many goals as he does and the team has been set up to provide him with chances.

Now we have Isak and Ekitike I’d expect more goals to come from the strikers so the RW just needs to be able to create chances for them and chip in with double figures and Semenyo can certainly do that.

He doesn’t Fit into the “undefeated” 4-4-2 Arne Slot Diamond, that only conceded 2 shots on target away at last seasons Champions League finalists.

I might be criticised for saying this but here's my opinion. I think we lack genuine, electric pace over 5-10m like what Mane and Salah used to have. Gakpo, Isak, Ekitike and the rest, to me, don't have carry that which frightens most teams. It could be very much down to the slow build up play and tactics or even the lack of pressing.
Personally, I'd like all out pace on the wings and therefore, Semenyo gives us something different.

I'm happy to be educated but that's my
Prognosis.

Semenyo is a LW who can play RW. Has bags of pace and tracks back. Him and Kerkez down the left would be ideal.

Semenyo can play in all 3 attacking positions, per Ed01 even tho, I never seen him play thru the middle.

Carragher is supposed to be all for Liverpool but yet makes statements attacking Liverpool best player of the past decade. He could have been like Seedorf and tried to remedy the situation but instead acts like an asshat and inflames it to get views. Elmohamady summed it up perfectly.

No wonder we never won the EPL with Carragher as a defender. You only have to watch the first half of the 2005 champions league to see the quality of his defending. Embarrassing.

I do not blame Mo for speaking out after the quality of Liverpool's performances and how slot has them playing. It is terrible to watch, slow and goes against what makes Mo dangerous. He is human and has emotions but probably could have worded it better, but I have no doubt he has tried to raise issues in house but has met a brick wall.

VVD, Konate, Gravenberch, gapko and others could have been dropped for their performances but Mo has been the scapegoat for Slot, Edwards and Hughes. Theyade. for. tooany changes from a successful team.

Anybody that payed 130 mill for player that goes on strike and is unfit in Isak, and looks a million miles off it, and 115 million for lightweight in Wirtz should be sacked. Not to mention is on par with Timikas.

Playing Isak ahead of Mo is a disgrace considering the efforts Mo has put in for this club.

10 Dec 2025 15:25:03
From Carras perspective Mo attacked the club with what he said. Carra defended the club. Regardless of if you like him or not, that's truth of the matter.

Basically what you are saying is give Mo what he wants and make everything about Mo. We are a team, not a 1 man band. The club comes before any player, regardless of what they have done or who they are.

As for the comments about Isak and Wirtz, laughable mate at the least.

Agree11

10 Dec 2025 16:43:14
@Fields, Carra wasn't defending my club. He was all out for his "revenge", IMO. To me, Carra absolutely disgraced himself with all the bitter, long-winded and personal cheap shots he rained on Salah that one would think Salah had done something so despicable to him in a former life and had been waiting to let it all out at long last.

Also, there was a lot of revisionist history in a lot of his attacks on Mo in his mindless, bitter rants. Saying "Before he signed for Liverpool, he was a Chelsea reject" cos clearly Salah wasn't doing bits at Serie A before Ian Graham, Edwards and his bros. convinced Klopp to sign him. Saying that how Salah threw Trent under the bus for him not tracking back for 8 years, conveniently ommiting that it was a deal he made with Klopp that even Sadio Mane (in an interview with Rio) said he was fine with . So was Trent.

Mate, I can keep going but the bottom line here is that Carra made a right bitter, jealous crank of himself with this personal attacks, flip flopping and disgraceful revisionist history about Salah's time here. And sorry, nobody wants to hear the opinions of a guy who spat at a kid lecture the rest of us on topics like public behaviour and respectful, dignified professional conduct.

Liverpool are said to have long been aware that Salah possesses the biggest ego at the club but given his extraordinary record of goals and assists, it was accepted. The report added, however, that should the winger's level of end product slip, the support he enjoys from the club will no longer exist.

Honestly it’s become a circus but o place blame solely at salahs door, he has a bit of a habit of playing the media how he wants when things don’t go his way. etc. no player is bigger than the club.

Carra has a blind spot when it comes to Mo. His comments about AFCON last year pretty much give it away.

In addition, he's not authentic. He's playing a pantomime character for his employers.

I am pretty sure none of the current Liverpool squad like him.

As a comparator, check out Stevie G's words on TNT.

Have you seen Mo Salah play this season? He deserved to get dropped. I don't care what he did last season or the season before. He's played 19 games this season and scored 5 goals. For a player that doesn't defend that isn't good enough.

Agree4

10 Dec 2025 16:32:27
Let's get it out there, Salah was totally WRONG. and as a Liverpool player for many years, he was quite within his rights to say what he said.

For what it's worth, Thefields, you're spot on. And regards to Slot, I said before the game that the travelling support would sing his name, and they did. I'm certainly not happy with our drop in form, but I'll be singing Slot's name on Saturday.

It's what supporters do. It's one thing criticising him, I've said things myself, but some of the guff that's been said on here has simply been made up to support people's agenda. The bottom line is, despite people's wishes, he ain't going anywhere.

10 Dec 2025 17:18:55
Carra, regardless of what you may think of him as an individual, was doing his job. He has rattled cages and sky must be laughing as they are the only winners in this.

However, carra played a huge part in us winning in 05 and literally ran himself into the ground. If I remember correctly, he was throwing himself round like a rag doll in extra time to try get us to pens.

Is he the best defender? No. Did he have his draw backs? Absolutely but you cannot diminish his role in it based on the first 45. They were all awful and that's why we needed the miracle in the first place.

As for Mo, the only person that thinks he was a scapegoat was him all based on the media noise. His form was terrible and wasn't just this season either. Go and look at his output from around March. He wasn't the only problem and I don't recall anyone saying drop Mo and it magically all gets fixed.

The summer spend was done based on a life without him, building round someone heading into his mid 30's would have been a horrible mistake by the club.

Agree4

10 Dec 2025 17:26:01
I don’t think anyone blames Mo for being upset. He’s an elite footballer who’s not ready to accept his best years are behind him he was always going to be annoyed if and when his playing time is restricted.

That doesn’t excuse the way he went about it though. Since he spoke to that reporter every question to any of our players and the manager has been about Mo. At a time when we need to be concentrating on winning games more than ever he’s dropped his team mates and the manager in the middle of a media storm. He’s been around long enough to have known that this would be the reaction to his comments so you can only assume that’s what he wanted.

That is why he’s getting stick and rightfully so. He was out of order and now he’s just left the manager and his team mates to pick up the pieces.

Yesterday he tweeted a picture of himself in the gym with no caption. Why? He hasn’t tweeted anything for 6 weeks and now he does that. Why wouldn’t he say good luck to the lads tonight or something like that?

Because he wants it all to be about him that's why.

We all love Salah he’s been immense for us but he’s behaving like a petulant child.

Suarez did a lot worse, as did cantona. my point being not to defend Salah, but to point out that other superstars have been handled differently in similar or worse situations. Carragher offered no solutions just an attack.

Why are people still talking about Jamie Carragher? Yesterday’s news is today’s fish and chip wrappers, for those of a certain age.

If he continually annoys you press the volume or off button when he on. Like all the talking heads he’s just trying to boost subscription figures by being provocative.

Carragher was on about again, seen clips of him n Micah Richards ina heated discussion when Richards said he feels a bit sorry for Salah . he thinks because he's a Scouser n played for the club he is still relevant.

he dug out Mo for not coming out to speak about our bad period . he always got something to say . never good, been hanging round with rat boy too long.

Carra went over the top with his comments. As for Salah I stand by understanding his outburst. It’s playing out like it did for quansah Elliot and our most expensive player Nunez. No man management skills at all.

Agree1

10 Dec 2025 20:45:59
Yes, Scouse John, because Elliott, Nunez and Quansah have been a major loss this season. ( To be fair, I'll give you Quansah, we perhaps could've done with him) .

May I ask, where as this "lack of man management skills" come from? I don't recall anyone questioning it last season. When he benched Quansah he was praised for doing so.

Rome . why will you be singing Slots name . I get we cheer the team but why you also certain he's not going anywhere . have you seen things in the game what make you think yea that's a great manager.

funny how some people word things so they're the ones who think they support their team more . I go the games aswel n plenty are moaning at him n loads want him gone .

Agree0

10 Dec 2025 22:11:50
Because, Strom, he's currently the Liverpool manager, that's why I sing his name. That's why those that travelled to Milan were singing his name.

Regards why I don't think he's going anywhere, I've said on here a few times, it's because it's my opinion that the powers that be don't consider there to be a suitable candidate to replace him at this moment in time. I've also said that I've flip flopped on whether he should go or stay as well. After the PSV game I thought it was time for him to go, but I've since changed my mind, again, because I don't see an alternative.

If you want him gone, you're obviously entitled to have that opinion. And if you say there are loads that want him gone that go to games, so be it. When I was there last week at the Sunderland game, no one by me was happy, but I personally didn't hear anyone say they wanted rid. Like you say, there are no doubt those that do want him gone.

I'm sure you'll be at the game on Saturday, so let's see how that turns out. I wouldn't mind betting that his name will be sang.

Regards to supporting the team more, I couldn't care less. I've always considered myself to be fortunate to be able to get tickets and to be able to afford to go. I do, however, consider myself to be more of a supporter than those that say they can't be bothered to watch us on tele because they don't like the way we are playing. I'm sorry if that point of view offends you.

Agree2

10 Dec 2025 22:17:38
@Rome: I just think it could of been sorted behind closed doors mate, if slot talks to Mo but with Mo’s comment of breakdown in communication hints at that not happening, looking back on last season with Nunez and Elliot they was big part of the team then just dropped ( Nunez after the psg penalty miss it changed) and eventually shown the door maybe Salah is reading the m.

o of slot? As for carra and souness they could take a leaf out of Gerard’s book when commenting on it.

Agree1

10 Dec 2025 22:48:29
Scouse, I've no time for Carragher either mate. Some of what he said was vindictive, petty and unnecessary.

Regards to Elliott and Nunez, I never rated either of them. Just my opinion. I've said to you before, I'm a miserable git. My wife will testify!

Agree2

10 Dec 2025 23:34:30
Rome, your point of view didn't offend in the slightest . just that you seen certain that's he's going nowhere because you've mentioned it a few times on here, last year I thought Slot was a breath of fresh air . new ideas n came across really well but that has evaporated very quickly this year, I too think he hasn't gone because there's either no one available or they are waiting for the right man .

but I can't see us closing the gap to the top 4 if he continues to play this absolutely dreadful football, id love to be wrong . but as u say its all about opinions, some want him gone some want him to stay.

How do you have "no doubt" that Mo has tried to have a conversation but has been met by a brick wall?

Agree0

11 Dec 2025 10:49:10
Faith, this is where my issues are. There are too many gaps to fill. I agree, we have no way of knowing ifMo reached out to the club and they said nothing. We also have no way of knowing Mo did NOT do this. And to me, it is up to the club to clarify this cos scenarios cannot be true.

I mean if I accused accused you of having no comms. with me on a topic and in actuality you did, wouldn't you come out and set the record straight? Cos if you don't then, people will assume you are guilty of my accusation, no? Just saying, man.

Agree0

11 Dec 2025 22:43:52
Oli - I actually don't think the club needs to justify anything. they can't be responsible for all of the external noise.

If I'm the club I wouldn't be engaging in he said / she said in the media.

I wouldn't want to publicly undercut the player either, unless it was someone that I didn't like and wanted to get rid of.
