5:1 against Arsenal. Do you know what's scary. We actually played at about 60%. We've got another gear or two!

1.) 30 Dec 2018 00:07:46
We got a bit of luck, the bobbled goal came at the perfect time, and very soft pen on Lovren. But if I was an arsenal fan I’d be furious. Koscienly has stolen a living for years now, can’t believe they still play him! He makes Matip look keen. He walks back to the goal after getting beaten. Mustafi is just as bad, I swear he went off ‘injured’ the last time we put a few past them. If it gets tough he gets going. They are awful at the back, other teams just know they can have a go and put them under pressure and they can get something. Hopefully people know see that with city!

2.) 30 Dec 2018 03:33:17
Would ya stop firmane, there was only one team that was going to win when arsenal went one up. Unbelievable performance.

3.) 30 Dec 2018 04:01:09
What a day lads. city next.

I can see a Central Defender being bought this month. With this being the closest to the title In years, If we beat City i wouldn't be surprised if klopp spent big to secure it.

1.) 02 Jan 2019 14:36:44
Klopps already spent big. All new players can possibly do for us right now is upset the apple cart. We are better than most with injuries and covered in nearly all positions for further injuries. We’ve got this mate.

30 Dec 2018 14:45:53
I'm sat watching City here and I get the same feeling as I've got all season when I've seen them. They are excellent in attack very dangerous, but they can't defend, they are a bag of nerves. If we attack these at Etihad we'll beat them, if we sit back we'll lose.

1.) 30 Dec 2018 14:58:28
Southampton had equalised 1 1 last time I looked.

2.) 30 Dec 2018 15:07:08
Oh well 3 1 city now. Still a 7 point cushion. And a 4 if we lose at the etiad. This December has been excellent for us. A draw at the etiad and its ours. I still think its ours anyway.

But, one game at a time.

3.) 30 Dec 2018 15:13:43
What happens at southampton is irrelevant, city were always going to show a positive reaction after recent fixtures. It is about how we ride that wave at the Etihad come january 3rd. What is noticeable is how poor Zinchenko has been; Salah could have a field day.

4.) 30 Dec 2018 16:16:59
We don't sit back.

5.) 30 Dec 2018 16:22:33
We've just got to give a good account of ourselves at their place to keep confidence up. Win lose or draw we just don't want to get smashed 5 nil. Then kick on and put a run of wins together. But if we beat them which is acheviable we will see if they are up for the fight. They are a great team but I suspect not as great as everyone is making out. Come on red men.

6.) 30 Dec 2018 18:07:58
Liverpool won't sit back. It's why we smashed them every time we played them apart from the first game at he etiad with 10 men.

The question is will they sit back and try something else because step to us and as pep found out at anfield twice and the ethiad once, we will show there defenders true colours.

Merry Christmas Reds and Eds!
Top of the Tree YNWA.

21 Dec 2018 14:12:24
Ed01. I've just read the United game review. Good read as always. One thing I want to point out is corners. Why are we so awful at them and for the odd one that's good, why isn't VVD threatening the goal. It needs addressing. It can't be that hard to beat the first man? And why can't we mix it up and try an 'in swinger' for once?!

{Ed001's Note - I don't get it either though we were missing out set piece takers in the starting line up for that game.}

1.) 21 Dec 2018 17:26:16
Was it Lee Dixon (? ) who said on commentary that VVD jumps from a standing start whereas most CBs who score from corners run into the 6-yard box.

2.) 21 Dec 2018 17:57:13
I just thought he was a decoy. It’s not like we score many from corners anyway, but he doesn’t seem to often be aimed for and is dangerous enough for extra attention from the defence, leaving space for our other guys. He’s just normally the one that everyone else peels off from.

3.) 21 Dec 2018 19:46:03
Maybe we should hire a corner kick coach to go with our throw in coach?

4.) 22 Dec 2018 01:58:57
We’re trying to be too accurate, trying to JUST avoid the first man. If it works, it’s a high percentage success in terms of goals, but more often than not we fail.

VVD is a big lump, there is no need to be so accurate. Just lump it into the middle of the box and have someone running in on the back post 👍.

17 Dec 2018 18:32:49
Do you know what. It's just brilliant being amongst the elite again. I think we're obviously up there with City Barcelona Madrid Juve as the elite teams in Europe once again. Just feels good knowing whatever happens in the Prem were probably going to be back in the champions league next season, again one of the favourites!
Not sitting in 5th anymore getting knocked out of the group with Ricky Lambert upfront. It's just Great times to be a Red.

1.) 17 Dec 2018 18:55:38
Love it mate!

2.) 17 Dec 2018 18:59:04
Agreed FC8 but let's not forget we haven't won anything yet and we must remember how we got here, what it took, how long it took and how much the owners have done for us. A little humility goes a long way, as it could all come crashing down. Cough cough, United. Sorry humility.

3.) 17 Dec 2018 19:47:26
Brilliant post OP and Kimuraking. th. We have achieved nothing yet in terms of trophies and that is surely the goal for this team. I will say that how and the way we got here, what it took and all the ups and downs involved to get here, it is an achievement in itself to be where we are right now.

Never forget this: Nothing was given to us. We have had to go out there every week and earn it and we continue to do so at this time. Keep the faith and enjoy the ride, lads. Where it takes us? I don't know BUT I do know that we are going to give it loads till the very end. YNWA!

4.) 17 Dec 2018 21:25:06
What has changed though, apart from the Style of play etc. is the signings. No longer do we sell Suarez and buy 4/ 5 signings like Lallana Balotelli Lambert and all that.
Coutinho wanted out, boom VVD and Allison, 2 record signings. That's how you don't slip down. When we sold Suarez we went 4 steps backwards.
We sold Coutinho and got stronger.

5.) 17 Dec 2018 22:42:20
I would caution that we are only an injury to VVD and/ or Alisson away from 5th place.

Gini has played ok for us. But klopps replaced him, so he couldn't of been that good.

Thanks Cara. I'm struggling to think of a single loanee that will ever pull on the red jersey of Liverpool tbh
Bar youth players obviously. I think most have missed their shot.

I went to Anfield today for a mooch round the tour with the kids whilst it was raining. I had a look at Anfield Rd and the area behind it, could easily fit another massive Stand there like the main one. I agree though, no train stations, minimal parking and absolutely nothing there other than the stadium. It's miles behind. But then on the flip side, it's a scary place for other teams, there's no TGI's and all that friendly vibes. probably why we have a better home record than the other lot.

All City's goals are either bad referee decisions, or getting to the by line and smashing it across goal for tap ins haha.

It's a great draw. I think we can progress to the Semi without completely zapping the mental tiredness that comes with say a Barcelona tie for example, we can take game by game and it won't destroy our League Campaign with a good chance of progressing.
