Question for eds (if you have the time) and reds.

This season we were a third tier team in the champions league (I think) which seems weird seeing as we made the final.

When will it be decided what tier Liverpool will be in next season? Will winning or not winning the league make a difference, and what other factors are considered?

Robbiesline

{Ed002's Note - Winning league or CL will be pot 1 - else pot 2 or 3 depending on ranking and who else qualifies.}

1.) 05 Feb 2019 07:30:57
The pot you go in is based on European performance over the last 5 years I believe? But if you win the league or champions league you automatically go in pot 1. We were on the cusp of pot 2/ 3 this year so at a guess I think if we beat Bayern that will probably bump us up into pot 2 but a lot has to do with who qualifies.

No word of a lie, I saw timo werner near wlva rd. In a grey mazzarati. God knows why. Reckon he will be a liverpool player next year.

Robbiesline

1.) 02 Feb 2019 20:40:09
Or Everton?

2.) 02 Feb 2019 20:43:47
Think he was supposed to go to Blackpool.

3.) 03 Feb 2019 10:29:48
Timo was in a grey Walter Mazzarri? Got nothing against it, but I didn’t know Walter had gone grey already. But if he is signing, then it’s good to know he’s enjoying the sights and attractions of Liverpool already. 👍.

4.) 03 Feb 2019 18:50:01
‘God knows why’ 😂😂.

Hi ed02 (or anyone, eds or reds)

Do we still have interest in the young full back from Bristol City?

Robbiesline

{Ed002's Note - There is nothing new.}

1.) 10 Jan 2019 10:13:36
i very much doubt they would sell him mid season! potentially one for the summer but i imagine most big clubs would be looking at him, having a very good season!

2.) 10 Jan 2019 10:18:17
Lloyd Kelly could be a very smart purchase, he’s a big, quick, mobile, a good defender and a good footballer (he dominates players who are a lot older than him) . He can also cover left back comfortably as well as centre back. To my mind he looks like he has the ability to step up, the same way Rob Jones did.

3.) 10 Jan 2019 10:41:52
Id take another rob jones alright!

Just watched klopp interview today. And burst into tears. It's been absolute joy to support this club but also absolutely heart breaking. I've never given up hope, we've never given up hope. I thought I'd taken this all a bit too casually, wondered why it didn't feel as special as I thought it should. Then klopp looks to the camera and says "this is for you and its an honour to do it for you" and the dam broke. Oh my god.

I don't know how to say it any differently. Thank you klopp. Thank you Henderson. Thank you Virgil. Than you to all the boys. Thank you to all the amazing fans that make this club so special. You've made an old man very very proud.

And a thank you to the eds and all the posters that make this a very special place for a non liverpudlian to revel in our successes and near misses. I love you all. Amazing. Absolutely amazing. I recommend leaving it 30 years between titles, as when it comes it's so so amazing.

I cannot wait to see the boys run out at the ethiad. More tears I suspect. YNWA X

GET INNNNNNNNNN.

Well said mate!

Kloptimism is infectious, great leaders awaken the mass.

I don't know about everyone else but I've suddenly been hit by this massive hit of adrenaline. I can barely breathe thinking we are 2 wins. Potentially 4 days from winning the Premier league. Jesus man. I think the way we were playing before the break, we all just expected to win the league but the anticipation of "will we finish the season, won't we" and now we are going to. I can't believe it. I haven't had a drink for a long time but I will the day we win it (if we win it, surely we will)

Robbiesline

1.) 21 Jun 2020 11:51:54
Keep an iced bottle of water at your side at all times. Not worth giving yourself a heart attack! (But keep a drink aside for me also, LOL) . 😉.

17 Jun 2020 04:00:54
Who does everyone fancy to score our first goal? I think Everton will be tight, they have a great manager and were playing okay before the break. For that reason I reckon Hendo.
If it's a forward I fancy salah.

Robbiesline

1.) 17 Jun 2020 06:56:45
Everton without the home crowd behind them will be a walk over. Mane to score first.

2.) 17 Jun 2020 08:21:38
Admire your confidence Thunderbird, don’t thing they will be a walk over though mate, very much the opposite infact could well be a tricky game.

3.) 17 Jun 2020 14:13:42
Pickford for me.

4.) 17 Jun 2020 22:08:13
With you there, Hhanif005. The most dreadful GK in the PL (neck and neck with the other clown Kepa from Chelsea) has been throwing them in all season long so won't be surprised if he throws one in again com Sun.

Just watched the "make us dream" documentary about captain fantastic - Steven Gerrard. What a player. I love the guy. Always have and always will. We were so lucky to have him. And he stayed loyal.

I quote - 9 out of 10 people might think I'm mad to not go to Chelsea. But I'm the 1.

After that transfer nonsense he really settled down. He stayed faithful and I think that deserves a massive amount of respect. He's got it from me.

A very "unappreciated on this site" Legend! only caught the end of Barnes so Stevies d best player I ever seen play for us!

2.) 09 Jun 2020 09:42:07
Ed's, I remember when stevie was going to go chelsea and then changed his mind. There were lots of rumours that his family had been threatened and stuff about his family life possibly being leaked if he moved etc. Was there ever any truth to any of this or just bs? Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - there was a lot going on in his personal life messing with his head yes. Once it was all sorted out he decided to stay. He did not stay because of threats to his family. He stayed because he wanted to.}

Ah, this is more like it. Am I mad or is being a football fan a bit boring when you win every game. Its way more intense when you're a goal down. This was a horrible game for us after Watford. Chelsea are a tight team, at home, playing for the only trophy available to them. We really need Bournemouth at anfield to get back to winning. Won't be easy though.

Robbiesline

1.) 04 Mar 2020 08:48:58
Robbie. Yes you are mad!

It is anything but boring this season. How many games have we shown the mentality monsters and won by the odd goal. It has not been a parade. We’ve fought hard to grind out the victories. It is the attitude of the players which will put them down in history as a great team.

2.) 04 Mar 2020 18:20:26
Thank you for the grounding g1dgo. I'm so used to frustration as a fan. This season I've been putting on the match waiting to see us win. At least this blip has made it interesting.

And I wish everyone would stop saying the league is done. It isn't. It's heaping pressure on the team. I've been saying it all year, ghat we'll get yo the pressure games and it'll be difficult.

Salah isn't getting a Hollywood move based on last night's performance. He's brilliant, don't get me wrong, but Madrid, Barcelona or juve won't take him imo.

The ox has definitely given klopp something to think about. It was only genk though. I'd bring him on at 60 minutes. Open the tired defence.

Dembeles unvieling said it all i think. The kid couldn't even do one keep up when they announced him. He looked like the kid in the playground who couldn't kick a ball. i've rarely seen a pro footballer (even semi pro) who couldn't dazzle me with keep ups and tricks. I don't doubt dembele could. But he has so much pressure on him and was sold too soon. A kid thrown into the snakepit that is the Barcelona dressing room.

They, and he, would've been better off had they not signed him. There is a message there if you have the wit to see it.

I believe him when he says that. He was a red for years. We developed him into one of the best players in the world. It has been said that he regrets leaving Liverpool and i believe that too.

It won't be the only motivation behind him snubbing utd, much more likely is the state that utd are in right now. But i believe that liverpool are part of the reason.

Dodgy theory: coutinio, through his agent, generates interest in a utd move. Snubs them at the last minute because he still has love for liverpool. Paving the way for pipco's return.

No he's not even close, they have a similar style though and Kdb wasn't a world beater at 20 either.

I think there's something in it. Does seem a bit strange but, I dunno, klopp when asked batted it aside but I remember thinking "somethings happening" it was my instinct. Could be wishful thinking.

Except for Todd cantwell. Sorry Norwich, been brave and played some nice football going forward, just awful under pressure. I really don't see them getting the, what?, 5 wins they need. I'd LOVE to see them get them but.

So yeah Todd cantwell. And if we're looking for z decent cb on the cheap then the Norwich lad is decent. Not amazing but young enough to improve massively under klopp and his amazing team. Both English players though and we know they often come at a premium price. The cb is English right? Is it Godfrey?
