Hi ed02 (or anyone, eds or reds)

Do we still have interest in the young full back from Bristol City?

{Ed002's Note - There is nothing new.}

1.) 10 Jan 2019 10:13:36
i very much doubt they would sell him mid season! potentially one for the summer but i imagine most big clubs would be looking at him, having a very good season!

2.) 10 Jan 2019 10:18:17
Lloyd Kelly could be a very smart purchase, he’s a big, quick, mobile, a good defender and a good footballer (he dominates players who are a lot older than him) . He can also cover left back comfortably as well as centre back. To my mind he looks like he has the ability to step up, the same way Rob Jones did.

3.) 10 Jan 2019 10:41:52
Id take another rob jones alright!

Having watched Wilson for Derby playing against Premier league opposition has left me with no doubt that he could do a job for us next season. He isn't even match fit but has been class. A brilliant free kick and then a pin perfect cross to set up the equaliser. Shown not only massive talent but good temperament too. I'd rather take a chance on the rising star than go another season with the aging and fading lallana.

I've always been a big lallana fan but he isn't the same player he was 2 years ago. His efforts will always be appreciated by me but maybe its time for him to take that step down. Maybe we could sell saints a player for a change. Jeez if it were up to me I'd give him to them for nothing, as a thanks for van dijke and mane.

1.) 16 Jan 2019 21:45:21
I'd rather have him coming off our bench now than the likes of lallana, Sturridge and Origi. Great left foot.

12 Jan 2019 00:55:56
Hey eds, do you play lead guitar for U2?

Also, how far are matip, gomez and The Ox from full recovery?

Thanks in advance, (it's a beautiful day)

{Ed001's Note - U2? You've lost me. Are we really that bad that you think one of us is in one of the most embarrassingly crap bands of all time?

Matip is back in full training, so could possibly play this weekend. Possibly.

Gomez is a bit further away but should be back at the end of the month.

The Ox is still a couple of months away.}

1.) 12 Jan 2019 03:41:11
No no. U2 is not crap. Its one of the best ever. I'm offended!

{Ed001's Note - they are awful.}

2.) 12 Jan 2019 05:24:31
Was there ever a more overrated band than U2? I prefer hearing Barnes’ rapping.

{Ed001's Note - I certainly can't think of one.}

3.) 12 Jan 2019 08:39:17
Bono is a p#%#k and I’m Irish can’t stand him.

4.) 12 Jan 2019 10:33:53
I really liked their early stuff but they went downhill quickly!

5.) 12 Jan 2019 12:24:10
Thank you Ed, I thought I was the only one. Them and Bruce Spingstein, I just don't understand what people see in either one.

6.) 12 Jan 2019 12:42:01
Bruce Springsteen is the soundtrack to everyday struggles in American life. Only problem is I’m not American, I think they are more proud to have him than think he’s a musical genius.

7.) 12 Jan 2019 13:53:37
They used to be good and then around the time of pop bono became everything smackable in a rockstar. I’m Irish as well, a (crap) musician of twenty years, and cannot stand them. Also for tax reasons they’re a Dutch band so they’re that country’s problem anyway.

8.) 12 Jan 2019 15:24:36
Musical creativity in general just sort of stopped about 25-30 years ago. All just generic rubbish recycling old hits at a slower tempo marketed by Cowell 🙄.

{Ed002's Note - Like Gandalf Murphy and the Slambovian Circus of Dreams I guess.}

9.) 12 Jan 2019 17:27:07
Yeah spot on Ron, I wouldn't be able to tell anybody what the newer music of these days are, all bloody sh*te though I know that much!

30 Dec 2018 15:28:47
Alison has been better than I ever hoped he would be. That ball in second half! Good god. Ed01 was right.

Vvd has transformed our defence, lovren, gomez and matip all look to have improved.

The wing backs are 2 of the most exciting young wing backs in Europe. And tbh Clyne has looked decent this year and moreno has improved a bit.

The midfield is just a source of riches, every type of player but they can ALL play football. Keita can go forward but also defend. Fabhino and hendo can defend but also play forward well. Gini and milner are just ultra industrial and both have end product and quality. Then there's shaqiri, lallana who can both make things happen.

Then there are the forwards. Mane is electric, Firmino is Firmino and salah is getting better and better.

Origi looks hungry after his luke warm spell in Germany. Studge has quality and can score World c lass goals from nowhere. And there are the youngsters solanke, brewster and Duncan who all know where the net is.

What a squad, what a season. I get goose bumps every time I imagine hendo lifting that cup, the red and white glitter.

1.) 30 Dec 2018 16:30:27
Steady on. While I like your positivity Clyne and Orogi have barely played. Let's have some balance.

2.) 30 Dec 2018 16:41:03
'imagining' Hendo lifting that cup will be a thing of the past come May WHEN we witness it :) .

3.) 30 Dec 2018 17:21:19
Mignolet, Clyne, Moreno, Lallana, Solanke and Origi are all available for transfer or loan. They're simply not good enough.

HessleRed is right. Needs to be more balanced for me. The rest of the squad has been fantastic so far aside from Keita who just needs time to settle. Which is why we are we are. Never ignore your weak links though. That's how you slip up. If you're not moving forwards, you're moving backwards.

4.) 30 Dec 2018 18:01:41
Yeah agreed with that MK, the players you mention are far from good enough for this Liverpool team now. Three years ago they would've of fitted right in, now they stand out clearly as not good enough. I don't expect all to leave in January but by the end of the summer of 2019 I think they'll all be gone.

5.) 30 Dec 2018 20:33:44
Agree totally MK. I'm sure there's a plan for the summer to address the squad and make sure we are strong for next season. There could be a number of leavers: Milner, Lallana, Origi, Sturridge, Moreno, Clyne etc these all need filling. I do expect Keita to come good next season as this one he is clearly adjusting to the team. We seem like a well oiled machine at the moment. I just worry about the full back areas and of course injuries to VVD in particular.

6.) 30 Dec 2018 21:16:11
Yeah, vvd is the one we don't want to lose. I think in shaqiri and sturridge there is just enough to cover the front 3 and we can always go 442 when needed.

7.) 31 Dec 2018 02:29:59
cos we're top of the league and can't moan about that let's start a pitch forked lynch mob about who we can push out of the squad in January. Their crime: 'not being good enuff'

some of those players have barely played, have been injured, have contributed to the team over the years and are generally not complaining about being on the bench, just trying to get fit to help the team, but what do we care ' Get them All out'

honestly, yes everyone wants to improve but the hypocrisy with which we treat players when they don't want to stay ( couts, Can etc) Vs when the fans don't want them is laughable,

29 Dec 2018 23:18:31
Reds (and eds if you have the time. )

Simple yes or no.

Will Liverpool win the league in 2019?

For me it's a yes now.

{Ed0333's Note - yes

1.) 29 Dec 2018 23:37:09

2.) 30 Dec 2018 01:15:50
100% if we defeat city!

3.) 30 Dec 2018 03:41:40
We might not win the league but this is the best Liverpool team I’ve seen in my life. Problem is, it’s the fiercest competition i've ever seen in my life as well. It’s ours to lose but t I doubt any pool player wants to live with the mantle of the lad who lost it for us.

4.) 30 Dec 2018 03:58:48
Yes! Or Yes!

5.) 30 Dec 2018 04:00:25
Whether we beat city or not, we will win the league but the way we’re playing we will beat city.

6.) 30 Dec 2018 04:33:00
Maybe. If we get more points than the other teams.

7.) 30 Dec 2018 07:45:13
Yes. Klopp has got it right this year and we've been on a steady cruise control since the season started. If you park the bus against us we will pound away until we win with a 1-0 or 2-0. And if you decide to attack us and play an open, expansive football, then we'll get you anyway with a 4-1 or a 5-1. Pep has a serious decision to make for Thursday.

8.) 30 Dec 2018 10:33:54
We are playing well at the moment but there is so much football to play and any injuries along the way could be crucial, just look at City. No Fernandinho and they have lost twice.

27 Dec 2018 01:51:26
Question to ed025. Genuine question. A few weeks ago you were suggesting fabhino may be a lemon. Now, if he had not played for Liverpool would you like Everton to sign him?

{Ed025's Note - he has done very well lately robbie, if he keeps it up then i will have to change my opinion of him of course, the jury is still out just yet but he is starting to win me over mate..

1.) 27 Dec 2018 07:29:19
You saw the sudden and massive difference the moment he took over from Wijnaldum, in the last game Ed0025? Immediately obvious. I think this Fabinho and Henderson duo is going to work out very very nicely.

{Ed025's Note - its going swimmingly ArAy so i believe anyone you put in there would do well mate, it helps when luck is going for you as well, mo did a great impression of tom daley yet gets no punishment whereas niasse gets bundled over and gets a 3 match ban, im not complaining just saying..

2.) 27 Dec 2018 09:18:46

I’d just say he’s your favourite player now, just to starve off the questions haha.

{Ed025's Note - im going to see how he does against the better players around before i make my mind up drogie, i cant judge him against a non-competitive side like newcastle mate..

3.) 27 Dec 2018 10:31:22
Fair play ed, i respect the fact that you're very open minded and always happy to dole out compliments to the reds when It's due. The only blue i know is my dad and he's not so balanced! Good luck to your team for the rest of the season, the only time i want Everton to lose is when they're playing us!

{Ed025's Note - cheers rugby, i will always give the reds due credit and this season they have been excellent...even though it breaks my heart mate.. :)

4.) 27 Dec 2018 11:07:39
You're right though, Ed025. Blatant dive by Mo. Hate that s**t. Something has to be done, because refs are getting fooled very consistently.

{Ed025's Note - i agree ArAy, mo is not the only one mind we have richarlison who is fond of going over too easily as well, in fact most teams have the same blight and its ruining the game, when niasse got banned even though i thought it was harsh i hoped that it at least showed the FA were dealing with the matter, alas no one has been charged with simulation since and if clubs are getting away with it then the problem is not going to go away mate, the likes of neymar who has turned it into an art form has a lot to answer for as well..

5.) 27 Dec 2018 16:45:39
Wouldnt it be more of a dive if the defender disnt touch salah? On another note there have been maybe 2 mm3 occasions I can recall when Salah has been fouled in the box and he has kept his feet yet we don't sing and dance about those.

For me, the salah "incident" isn't a dive. I agree he made the most of it but that is the game and there was contact. Outside the box its a foul and maybe a yello if the ref deems it a professional foul to halt progress.

{Ed002's Note - It was a dive and he has a reputation for it - and has been booked in the past for doing it. Try and avoid pitiful excuses - he cheated and got away with it.}

6.) 27 Dec 2018 17:11:40
Thanks for the reply ed025. I watched him in pre season and decided he was fine, klopp was just easing him in. I didn't see the Can similarity then though. I think lately he has shown he has an attacking edge. I think he's going to prove a great signing.

{Ed025's Note - time will tell robbie but the signs look good mate..

No idea but he showed some talent in pre season and was probably the standout defender in pre season. Tall lad, if he fills out he could become a real handful. Skill, height and strength.

He also reminded me of carra, the way he threw himself into blocks and all the last ditch defending.

I dunno if he has pace though, And that seems an important trait in klopp's high line of defence.

I disagree MK. We have been lucky with injuries in the attacking areas but after selling solanke, if we sold origi would you be happy placing your faith on Danny sturridge and his iffy knee? Coz after him there are only youth players. I truly believe Bobby Duncan will be the next fowler/ Owen but it may be a little too soon for him. Brewster also has bags of talent but his inexperience is the issue again.

Okay shaq can play in the front three, lallana at a push, maybe Keita but none are proper strikers.

If we sell origi we need to loan in a CF imo, so why go through all that?

And also, spurs are a rival with an outside chance of making a challenge (not going to happen but still) they've lost Harry kane, eff em. If we lost salah would they loan us lamela or son? Of course not. We should go in for Eriksonn next summer though.

Hazard to Madrid, so that leaves Barcelona and juve, City and us. If I were him I would stick to the league I know. Also, the afore mentioned teams are filled with prima Donna's and big egos. Stay with spurs or come to us.

I think fab is more than direct enough to bee an attacking FB.

Although we generally set up 433, there is a place for a player who can play between the mid and attack. Klopp almost signed fekir remember. Wilson can play in any of the 6 mid/ attack positions. That's an asset. We have to keep him.

Ah, thanks ed01, I didn't know matip was back. That makes it less of a problem then. Matip at CB and fabhino out on the right.

Fab matip vvd and robbo.

That is a pretty strong defence. I wouldn't be surprised if fab turns out to be a better RB than young trent. Matip looks to have improved a lot too. All our defenders look so much better alongside vvd.
