Question for eds (if you have the time) and reds.

This season we were a third tier team in the champions league (I think) which seems weird seeing as we made the final.

When will it be decided what tier Liverpool will be in next season? Will winning or not winning the league make a difference, and what other factors are considered?

{Ed002's Note - Winning league or CL will be pot 1 - else pot 2 or 3 depending on ranking and who else qualifies.}

1.) 05 Feb 2019 07:30:57
The pot you go in is based on European performance over the last 5 years I believe? But if you win the league or champions league you automatically go in pot 1. We were on the cusp of pot 2/ 3 this year so at a guess I think if we beat Bayern that will probably bump us up into pot 2 but a lot has to do with who qualifies.

No word of a lie, I saw timo werner near wlva rd. In a grey mazzarati. God knows why. Reckon he will be a liverpool player next year.

1.) 02 Feb 2019 20:40:09
Or Everton?

2.) 02 Feb 2019 20:43:47
Think he was supposed to go to Blackpool.

3.) 03 Feb 2019 10:29:48
Timo was in a grey Walter Mazzarri? Got nothing against it, but I didn’t know Walter had gone grey already. But if he is signing, then it’s good to know he’s enjoying the sights and attractions of Liverpool already. 👍.

4.) 03 Feb 2019 18:50:01
‘God knows why’ 😂😂.

Hi ed02 (or anyone, eds or reds)

Do we still have interest in the young full back from Bristol City?

{Ed002's Note - There is nothing new.}

1.) 10 Jan 2019 10:13:36
i very much doubt they would sell him mid season! potentially one for the summer but i imagine most big clubs would be looking at him, having a very good season!

2.) 10 Jan 2019 10:18:17
Lloyd Kelly could be a very smart purchase, he’s a big, quick, mobile, a good defender and a good footballer (he dominates players who are a lot older than him) . He can also cover left back comfortably as well as centre back. To my mind he looks like he has the ability to step up, the same way Rob Jones did.

3.) 10 Jan 2019 10:41:52
Id take another rob jones alright!

What happened to klopp at dortmund? Did he leave them to come to us or was he sacked?

{Ed001's Note - he left, despite the fans begging him to stay. Even when that final season was going badly the fans were desperate for him to stay on. They still love him there and at Mainz.}

1.) 25 Jan 2020 22:14:35
The man is unreal that’s why . I remember saying to my mate when he signed for us I could listen to Him speak him all day .
Still the same 4 seasons in .

{Ed001's Note - it is charisma. He has it in spades.}

2.) 25 Jan 2020 22:22:19
Klopp is revered at both clubs esp. at Mainz where till the CL win in Madrid, klopp still says getting them promoted to the Bundesliga was the greatest achievement in his managerial career.

{Ed001's Note - he also got them into Europe for the first time ever. Well obviously really as they hadn't even been in the top flight before him so they would have struggled to get into Europe before!}

18 Jan 2020 17:58:50
Get in Palace. That Roy Hodgson knows his football eh!

1.) 18 Jan 2020 19:32:21
The football gods are smiling on us again, so far this weekend from the Big Six - 3 draws and a loss. It just gets easier.

2.) 18 Jan 2020 20:07:34
These days polecat there’s a big 1 and 5 also rans 😉.

13 Jan 2020 15:32:20
It's my birthday today. Spur win was the best present. Never been so far ahead at this time of year. Making it one of my better birdays as a 80 something. Now very soon, in as year, my life will start. Mot holding my breath.

{Ed001's Note - happy birthday Robbie!}

1.) 13 Jan 2020 17:54:11
Happy birthday lad.

2.) 13 Jan 2020 21:48:54
Many happy returns, RobbiesLine.

3.) 14 Jan 2020 13:58:08
Happy birthday mate, I hope you have a grand day.

4.) 15 Jan 2020 11:33:34
Cheers dudes, got smashed. I used to hate knocking about with utd fans but now I don't mind it. At all.

It's official. Liverpool are the best team in the world. Well played boys, especially hendo. Thought he was excellent and I don't know how he managed to stay professional with some of those decisions. Ref was unbelievably bad.

Gutted for the ox. I really hate rafhinio. What a door knob.

1.) 21 Dec 2019 21:38:19
Just what I didn't want lad's a injury to a player and extra time.

2.) 21 Dec 2019 21:43:58
Thought Joe Gomez had a great game.

3.) 21 Dec 2019 21:53:46
Yeah same hear Roro. He was great. Firmino was also excellent.

4.) 21 Dec 2019 22:42:32
Robbiesline Rafinha fought for his team throughout the game. He was determined, led by example and pushed his team mates to the very end. Towards the end he let the occasion get to him and was maybe over emotional which led to him making some stupid decisions but his dedication to his team was unquestionable. He did nothing I wouldn’t want any Liverpool player to do when representing us. Total commitment to the cause.

5.) 21 Dec 2019 22:53:35
I taught Rafinha was an embarrassment with he's behaviour, would hate to see trent act like that.

6.) 21 Dec 2019 23:40:51
Think I’m going to have to rewatch the game. I’ve finished work for the Christmas period and maybe had a few too many so didn’t see what others did. Merry Christmas everyone.

Salah isn't getting a Hollywood move based on last night's performance. He's brilliant, don't get me wrong, but Madrid, Barcelona or juve won't take him imo.

The ox has definitely given klopp something to think about. It was only genk though. I'd bring him on at 60 minutes. Open the tired defence.

Dembeles unvieling said it all i think. The kid couldn't even do one keep up when they announced him. He looked like the kid in the playground who couldn't kick a ball. i've rarely seen a pro footballer (even semi pro) who couldn't dazzle me with keep ups and tricks. I don't doubt dembele could. But he has so much pressure on him and was sold too soon. A kid thrown into the snakepit that is the Barcelona dressing room.

They, and he, would've been better off had they not signed him. There is a message there if you have the wit to see it.

I believe him when he says that. He was a red for years. We developed him into one of the best players in the world. It has been said that he regrets leaving Liverpool and i believe that too.

It won't be the only motivation behind him snubbing utd, much more likely is the state that utd are in right now. But i believe that liverpool are part of the reason.

Dodgy theory: coutinio, through his agent, generates interest in a utd move. Snubs them at the last minute because he still has love for liverpool. Paving the way for pipco's return.

He's a good player but utd would be a bad move for him. I also agree that 70mil is ridiculous for him. If he were at 45/ 50 I reckon he'd have been snapped up. The neymar transfer changed the game but it shouldn't have really. Everyone knows that psg are immensely wealthy. It's stupid to suggest we can all keep up with them financially. Yes it's ruined neymar's game. I hate him but he's a decent footballer. Should be competing in a better league. Most players leave the French league when they've made it but its the reverse for neymar.

Fernandes is a very creative player, he's strong on the ball and an intelligent player. He's got everything you need to make it in the prem or la liga imho. I think he'd be decent for Liverpool actually, and if he were available for a bit less, I see him as a decent keita replacement. That said, I haven't given up on keita yet. Yes, it's getting silly with his injuries but I think he'll overcome them. He was top notch before this latest injury. Was getting assists and goals every week and looked like the player we paid big for.

Well if the 6th place team have only won 8 games out of 24, that would suggest that either all the clubs have gone up a notch or down. Probably up tbf as they all have a fair bit of cash.

{Ed025's Note - i would say down robbie..

I don't buy it. Salah is a top footballer, he can see a guy 5 ft away in space. Had salah scored we would not be too worried but he would be just as good, if not better if he had three assists instead of one goal.

Had we drawn that game it would've been a massive issue.

I like hoddle too. Thought he was a good manager as well. Old school commentary. Knows what he's on about. I like danny Murphy too.

Keown's an idiot. Feet like paint brushes! Twot. Micah richards is too biased imo.

Crouch is a goodun. Don't like linekar (is that sacrilege)

Surely the best way to see Liverpool (and I don't know, its been years) is to go to the away games in the away section. Not perfect but at least you get to see Bobby's teeth in real life.

All games are televised now tho, you can smoke, drink. You know what's happening with VAR. You get commentary. Better angles. I'd love to see a home European tie though. Sing YNWA. Gives me goosebumps at home. God, it gives utd fans goosebumps!
