And fans all soft, mentioning points deduction or relegation.
As I said last week. Man city should be stripped of every medal and title. Complete cheats.

Klopp and Liverpool rightly deserve their extra medals. I don't care if x doesn't want it because of the circumstances. They cheated. Strip them.

29 Sep 2026 22:11:06
I agree they should be stripped of all titles. Not just from the period they cheated but from the minute Abu Dhabi bought them.

They wouldn't have had the squad they've had for the last 8 years if they hadn't cheated for the decade that preceded it.

As for awarding titles to other clubs I think there are too many variables to say with any certainty that if City hadn't cheated, another team would've won the league. Or different teams would've been relegated or got European spots etc.

Football isn't a straight line sport. If City hadn't got 98pts it's likely Liverpool wouldn't have got 97pts. One thing lead to the other.

You'd have to just strip them of all titles and those titles become null and void. It's the only real answer.

{Ed666's Note - in my mind Klopp won us at least 3 premierships..I’ve already had the parades and have the hangover to prove it

29 Sep 2026 15:19:46
Ed001 would you see Tyrick Mitchell as a budget option to strengthen us at LB? I've heard him mentioned as he's in the final year of his contract and homegrown, so how would you assess his strengths and weaknesses to do well in an Iraola side? Others' views also welcome. Thanks!

{Ed001's Note - I don't know, I have only ever seen him play wing-back which makes it difficult. He does seem decent defensively, but it is a bit easier to do so when you have cover. Also, he is not that great going forward, especially for a wing-back, until this season, when he has stepped up a bit. But that was in a very defensive set-up prior to this season, so maybe he could.

I have always thought he has more to his game than he showed, but he is now at peak age, so there is probably not going to be much more to come. I think he had lost his chance to make the step up due to playing under Glasner, if he hadn't run down his contract in order to get out of Palace no one would be considering him.

As a budget back up option who is home grown, then yes, but I can't see why he would leave there to be a back up. I would expect him to want to go somewhere he can play and nail down an England berth.}

30 Sep 2026 09:08:42
Ed01 you know me. I am always weary of defenders who do well in a defensive system.

29 Sep 2026 16:29:03
If the cheats get the titles stripped from them, do the players hand back the medals? Also if they allowed to keep them, will they become more valuable for being tarnished?

29 Sep 2026 16:54:14
Personally, I don't think they should be stripped of the titles and I think it won't go that far anyways. At the end of the day, they competed for those title on the pitch. Unfair advantage or not, they earned the right to be champions by beating their opponent.

Don't get me wrong, they cheated and had officials on their side for some reason but in the end, they fought to win games. If they were to be stripped, I don't want anything to do with the title at all. Btw, I don't think the players should feel anything less than champions, they earned it.

Agree0

29 Sep 2026 17:18:06
I simply don't get the "those titles were earned on the pitch" rhetoric. I'm hearing it a lot. What am I missing?

The whole point is that Manchester City were the best team because they had the best players and ridiculous squad depth. The only reason that was possible was because of the financial cheating, which based on the statement just released by the Premier League was on an insane scale.

As far as I'm concerned everything they have "won" since the cheating started should be erased, right up to now - not just the period that has been under investigation. No titles, no centurions, no Champions League, no FA Cups and League cups, no four consecutive titles. Void the player of the year and manager of the year awards as well. I'd even want to see an asterisk against Aguero, Haaland and anyone else from City in the all time scorers list.

You can't simply ignore the significance of the financial cheating in enabling all of those "achievements".

Agree21

29 Sep 2026 18:12:17
Take the lot off them. It was us they was cheating

Jurgan Klopp went up against a dynasty of Corruption.

Clear evidence of cheating from Man City, and clear bodies of evidence from the PGMOL certain refs were Bias against Liverpool.

Agree5

{Ed666's Note - The mere mention of Klopps name makes me go warm & fuzzy and I’m like a teenager at a Justin Bieber concert. I would give my right pinkie finger for the great man to manage us for 1 more season in the future. Shankley, Paisley, Fagan, Dalglish, Rafa & Klopp what a Mount Rushmore of managers that is.

29 Sep 2026 18:28:36
Ugbes sorry mate but that's a load of rubbish. They were able to compete on the pitch because of what the did off the pitch, its absolutely blatant cheating and everything they won should be stripped, I don't want any titles handed out though. Leave them with no winner. Same as with Lance Armstrong, just strip everything. Doping, financial doping same thing, same results.

Agree8

{Ed666's Note - I don’t understand why you wouldn’t want a retrospective premiership or three?

29 Sep 2026 18:39:59
That's a really strange point of view Ugbes. The fact is, as others have said, the only reason they were in a position to compete on the pitch was because they were cheating on a huge scale off it.

They simply can't keep any titles they've won since Abu Dhabi took over. It's all built on cheating and deception.

Even the team they have now has been made possible because they cheated for a decade up to 2018.

Taking Lance Armstrong as an example. It's like saying, we know you were doped up to the eyeballs with illegal, performance enhancing drugs but it was you on the bike so you can keep your Tour de France titles. Makes no sense at all.

Agree8

29 Sep 2026 18:52:41
I haven't always agreed with you Rio but I certainly do on what you have said there.

Agree3

29 Sep 2026 19:50:21
Don't want to be mean, but if the logic is that they competed on the field, then tie the opposition's legs together, throw them onto the field, and play a football match. Both sides would still compete! So the winners deserve credit even then!

Agree1

29 Sep 2026 22:05:48
Of course the titles should be stripped.
Whether they are handed to the runners up or voided is a different question though.
I was going to make the point but another poster beat me to it that the players had to go on the field and score goals yeah but lance armstrong also had to get on his bike and pedal.

Agree3

{Ed666's Note - in my mind Victor Moses is a premier league winner with Liverpool

30 Sep 2026 09:16:17
Ugbes, I couldn't give a flying fig about the whole "the players earned it on the pitch" stuff. If anything, these players should be banging on these corrupt owners demanding why they were lied to because essentially, their legacies have been destroyed due to this generational level of cheating.

Like RF said, strip them to the bare bones of everything they won and loved and send them down to Non league football for 5 years mandatory and pay a billion pounds in fines with a 5 year transfer ban. Seems fair, no?

Agree2

30 Sep 2026 10:17:28
Strip all titles till the current ones.

All the cheating in the part has led to where they are now.

Plus they've made it extremely difficult for years by not cooperating with the investigation and still claiming they're not guilty.

Make an example of it and give them the highest possible punishment:

Strip titles. Huge fine. Demotion. Transfer bans. Point deduction for every year they cheated. Compensation to other teams who lost a title or cup final to them. The lot!

Agree2

30 Sep 2026 12:57:29
I wouldn't include Rafa in with those boys ED0666. Just my opinion.

Agree0

{Ed666's Note - I did mention Rafa mate. Would never leave him out of a list of the greats. Rafa divided opinion but for me he was as much as a warrior as Klopp was for us. He didn’t take any of fergies crap and had to fight a biased FA/Premier league as well as owners that didn’t like him.

29 Sep 2026 15:31:30
Can't blame City for their response. As Ken Dodd said to Lester Piggot, get a good brief and never plead guilty.

29 Sep 2026 17:49:02
Did he?

Man Cheaty*.

Agree2

29 Sep 2026 13:02:42
Indeed, @Arne. Let them think so.

I guess that no one has told them that even after being punished for their crimes, the appeals process won't stop them from suffering said punishment.

Agree2

Most of the experts, who I've listened to, say it is likely to drag on till the end of the season.

Agree1

29 Sep 2026 13:55:27
Let's just hope the home crowds give City the welcome they deserve and sing to the cheats every game until this case is over and sent packing to the championship starting at Anfield on October 11th!

Agree4

29 Sep 2026 14:24:17
I don't think it'll deter anyone from copying City unless Everton are relegated for this.

Agree9

29 Sep 2026 15:07:58
Rome - all well I hope?
Stefan Borson this morning reckons they'll drag it out for as long as possible &
Could well take more than this season for a resolution?
Not sure why the Premier League haven't come out with some sort of statement.

Agree3

29 Sep 2026 15:28:20
For me I'd like to see Man City reset into the club it was before the current cheating owners took over.

So ban the owners and force them to sel for starters.
Punishments that return Man City back into a smallish club that will bounce between the prem and championship. So relegation, fines and transfer bans until they are the size they were before.
And everything they have won since 2009 wiped from the record like it never happened.

The punishment needs to put things right and also deter other people coming in and doing the same. Putting city back into its pre 2009 state does that for me. For all the cheating of the owners they did spend years of hard work doing it, seeing it all taken away in one go is justice.

Agree6

29 Sep 2026 16:02:32
I'm assuming the Premier League are not making comment because they are engaged in a confidential legal dispute and likely in depts of an appeal from City, making public statements prior to a conclusion could be seen as prejudicial to City's case and hand the citizens the technicality they are looking for to squirm out of there cheating.

On an evidence basis City may well be guilty ( we've all seen the emails leaks) but unfortunately in legal cases it's rarely about evidence and right and wrong, cases are won and lost on technicalities and procedural arguments.

Agree1

29 Sep 2026 16:16:36
All good, Bristol, thank you, my mate. Hope you're well. Off down to yours and mines favourite haunt on Friday, Cornwall, for the week. Will be back for the City game.

Forgive me, I'm turning this site into Instagram!

Agree1

{Ed666's Note - we need a pic of you eating a Cornish pastie Rome!

29 Sep 2026 16:54:24
I don't know the exact reason Roman Abramovich was forced to sell Chelsea not sure what he directly with the invasion of Ukraine.
But I think that should be the start the club should be sold and all money given to the clubs affected.
A one division relegation will not stop city from coming straight back up and challenging for the league the next season so they need to go down at least two.

A five year transfer ban should also be included to revert all the gains from the cheating. They still have some fantastic young players in there academy so that should be what they use going forward along with the players they can convince to stay long term.

Agree2

29 Sep 2026 17:35:06
It can be arranged, Ed0666! Washed down with a Rattler!

Agree0

{Ed666's Note - ok mate everyone’s expecting a pic now..send it in and we’ll put it on the site..enjoy your holiday

28 Sep 2026 21:44:05
Ed 666 what do you think about a move for Tyrick Mitchell from Palace? I think he'd be a great signing for us. Homegrown, on a free in the summer and would be a much more solid option at LB rostering with Kerkez. Surely Kostas time is up soon. Cheers ynwa.

{Ed666's Note - I think he'd be an excellent purchase mate. In fact I would go as far as saying he’s good enough to be the first choice ahead of Kerkez right now. Good shout mate.

29 Sep 2026 00:07:16
Good option on a free. However, is he a good LB or more of a WB?

Palace play with WBs so just wondering if we'd have the same issue we have with Frimpong on the other side. I can't say I've seen much of Mitchell to know.

Agree4

29 Sep 2026 08:32:27
Thanks for the reply mate 👊.

Agree0

{Ed666's Note - looks like where in the minority mate

29 Sep 2026 09:49:41
Gregarios is right though, he is a WB more than a LB. However he is not as small or weak as Frimpong.

Agree3

29 Sep 2026 10:42:57
He is a wing back only because that's how Palace play before they went to 3 at the back he was there left back. First two full seasons he was a left back under Roy Hodgson before that he played 19 games at left back but that was only because of injury missing 4 months of the season.

Agree1

29 Sep 2026 10:54:02
Tyrick Mitchell? Not for me. We should be looking to replace Kostas with a ball playing LB that can invert into midfield and that can also play LCB at a push. That would then give us two distinct profiles.

Not a massive fan of taking the South London lads out of their home either. JoeyG is the exception rather than the rule.

Plus, I am sure there will be other clubs that can offer Mitchell first team guarantees eg Man Utd.

Agree2

29 Sep 2026 11:57:42
Mitchell is no where near good enough for us. He's end product and crossing is abysmal and he isn't good enough on the ball for what we need.

Agree4

29 Sep 2026 12:58:32
Who would you suggest Dilly2?

Agree0

29 Sep 2026 13:08:03
He would certainly be an improvement on Tsimikas and, at this moment in time, Kerkez.

Agree4

29 Sep 2026 13:03:34
Nah Ed, I think we can do a lot better than him.

Agree1

{Ed666's Note - yes mate I think so too but I meant at this present moment in time he would be a massive upgrade on Kerkez and Tsimi kerkez offers nothing offensively anymore

28 Sep 2026 16:57:32
This thing with Man Cheaty is going to drag on for ages! Probably a year or two or maybe more who knows! Point is can we get back to red business please, more worried about Isak and Gakpo at the moment!

28 Sep 2026 17:33:56
Isak going to be injured longer than time it will take to finalize the Cheaty charges 😂😂😂😂.

RebelLFC

The level of lawyers Man City can afford. Will tie up the whole situation for a very long time. If they have to. Quite possibly a large fine and a ban on transfers. If that.
An elite lawyer should be able to tie up the FA judgement in knots.

Agree2

28 Sep 2026 18:58:24
Yuri, haven't they been using the best lawyers already?

Agree18

28 Sep 2026 19:43:59
City are cheats and it's been an open 'secret' for over a decade I'm just glad that we actually have a guilty verdict to nail them with, still can't expect some serious legal shenanigans before any sanctions are stuck.

City are rightly getting there public dressing down by media and fans but surely the Premier League have some serious questions to answer, how did/do they scrutinise sponsorship deals for artificial inflation, how were sweetheart deals to Mancini escape oversight? I accept that City were being crafty with there accounting but a blind man on a galloping horse could see City were spending money hand over fist, did nobody ask where the legitimate revenue was coming from?

Agree4

28 Sep 2026 20:09:50
Are the lawyers tax deductible or are they off the books aswel.

Agree3

28 Sep 2026 21:09:31
@OP, just start a thread about LFC and away we go .

Agree3

28 Sep 2026 21:23:44
Exactly Downey but whilst they are bringing players like De Bruyne, Aguero, Silva etc. to the Premier League they are making it more watchable and so growing the brand.

It's like the Premier League have turned a blind eye because it suited them. Until they've made enough money then they've decided to put a stop to it because other clubs were following suit and some were days away from not existing because of it.

You'd have to be living under rock to not know what was going on. You don't go from Shaun Goater and Nicky Weaver to Aguero and Silva that quickly without the owners falsely inflating the income and paying back handers left right and centre.

Agree3

28 Sep 2026 22:43:43
Some of the details coming out are truly staggering and how it didn't come under Premier League scrutiny is unbelievable, between 08/09 City's revenue was recorded at approx 101m, by the time City won there 1st cup (fa cup) there revenue had almost tripled due to lucrative sponsorship and partnership deals, this is before they won a cup! In one season alone there 08/09 there sponsorship went up almost 400% ( all Middle East companies)

{Ed666's Note - I know a particularly annoying Man City fan actually I’m being kind when I say annoying he’s levels above annoying I must try and find his phone number and see how he’s doing?

29 Sep 2026 00:03:47
You can find Harry on here Ed, no need for his number.

Agree9

{Ed666's Note - This the post of the century touché mate 🤣🤣🤣. Ed’s 001 and I did a podcast with Harry years ago and hand in my heart it’s the funniest thing ever..I should ask Ed’s 001 if he can dig it up I’d love to hear it again..What is Harry’s new moniker now? And how do you guys know it’s him every time he changes his username?

29 Sep 2026 05:24:45
Apparently City had spent over £30m at the end of the 23/24 season on defending themselves, which is rather a lot of money on flogging a dead horse.

Their lead lawyer is Lord Pannick KC (I kid you not . 'Don't panic Captain Mainwearing, for those as old as me). The rate he charges is apparently £5000 per hour, and, again, I kid you not. The whole thing is obscene.

Agree4

29 Sep 2026 08:07:10
He can't spell and uses very similar username types every time he changes it.

Agree1

29 Sep 2026 10:02:49
It's kinda easy to spot Harry after a while Ed. The username is usually a dead giveaway. But his posts are usually made up of false facts and a very liberal use of the laughing emoji.

Oh another sign is when he glazes up a Chelsea or City player. Or basically any other player other than ours. That's usually a giveaway ;)

Agree3

29 Sep 2026 13:05:59
WestYorkshirered if anything, City need to go get their refund because these "briilliant lawyers" they kept bragging to us about could only get them off for one charge out of the whole lot.

Maybe they're on a no win no fee basis.

Ed666 I have a feeling it's lastfanofslot.
What was harry like on podcast ed?
I remember when he first appeared and I quite liked his posts. They were always a bit controversial but you could tell he was quite knowledgeable. Then he turned full troll.
His thirstforwirtz moniker was insufferable though.

Agree1

{Ed666's Note - I always found Harry to be likeable and he knew his football. I can’t remember his trolling days because I’m old and probably have early dementia or am I confusing myself with Ed’s 025? Anyway I digress the podcast with Harry was comedy gold I think me and Ed’s 001 just laughed a lot through it because Harry just took over and it was just really really funny because he was so cheesy.

28 Sep 2026 13:00:42
Ed001, there are reports that the UK government are worried about any punishment of Man City affecting relations between the UK and the UAE.

Surely this should be a massive red flag to everyone. This is the reason why any potential owner who is a politician or a member of a countries royal family should not be allowed to purchase a football club.

If a football club breaks the rules, they should be punished without the worry of a political falling out hanging over the case.

{Ed001's Note - I very much doubt there is any truth in that.

28 Sep 2026 15:39:26
Cue the import ban on all kebab ingredients.

Agree3

29 Sep 2026 00:20:04
A large fine and transfer ban is simply not enough. These are serious crimes. Relegate City and throw the owners out of the Premier League for bringing the game into disrepute. City's owners are finished. Appalling what they have done. Cheats. Conmen. Criminals.

Agree1

{Ed666's Note - Then by that standard we should throw the owners of Chelsea, Forest and Everton out of the Premiership also no? Aren’t they cheats, conmen and criminals? You can’t have one rule for one and one rule for others..

29 Sep 2026 05:27:04
I think the owner of Forest is a Richard of the first order but he doesn't strike me as a criminal mastermind.

Agree1

29 Sep 2026 10:07:04
The owners of Chelsea were technically thrown out though Ed. Abramovich was forced to sell and although the punishment happened under their current owners, they were committed under Abramovich's tenure.

And Everton had a recent change in owners too from the ones who broke the financial rules.

Agree2

29 Sep 2026 11:14:56
There are plenty of jokes we can make about City and their owners. Not sure kebab ones are the way.

Agree2

{Ed025's Note - i will ask my sister...Donna mate.. :)

29 Sep 2026 13:11:37
JK_RED, I don't think any of that would matter in reality. I know a lot of City and rival fans have been saying this for years now in a bid to brace for impact should City had gotten off. They didn't.

Which tells me that none of those fears matter because if they did, then surely, they would have gotten off for the most part. Also, keep in mind that other PL clubs will be looking to sue City for lost revenue and all that and depending on how many clubs, that could almost bankrupt them. The factors you fear will not stop any of that, should it happen the way it should.

Imo, City are should get the stiffest of penalties for what they have done because mind you, this is the biggest scandal in British Sports history, let alone English football. People have yet to process this yet because they are waiting for the official punishment and the ramifications that would have for the PL.

Agree2

29 Sep 2026 06:32:30
Hang on ed666

They took their punishment. And accepted what got? Reluctant though they were and got on with it.

These cheats just double down and double down again. They could well bring the whole PL Down.

Agree2

{Ed666's Note - if someone commits a crime does it make a difference if they owned up to it and found guilty or denied it and found guilty?

Fine then ed666, you drive a hard bargain. Kick them all.

Agree1

{Ed666's Note - harsh!!!!

I think it does make a difference if criminals plead guilty, their sentence is often less severe. I'm no legal expert.

The aren't 'alleged' anymore, at least according to the independent panel.

Agree10

28 Sep 2026 14:21:24
Indeed, WDW. There is nothing "alleged" when an actual verdict has been reached by a court, a civil hearing or an independent panel for that matter.

28 Sep 2026 14:59:23
Am I the only one who is fed up of all the posts, regarding City and what punishment they are likely to get. Let's talk about the injuries to Gakpo and Isak, that is more important at this time. If neither are available to face City we are in serious trouble.

Agree3

{Ed666's Note - I’m just delirious we don’t have to talk about Wirtz at nauseam for another couple of weeks..boy was that the most boring topic ever

28 Sep 2026 15:18:43
But if they are we're not. Now. That's all the talking done. What'll we talk about next?

Agree2

28 Sep 2026 20:07:33
I find it quite interesting that this news breaks just before the three week international break.
Leaves fans of all the clubs the whole three weeks to discuss the gravity of the cheating that has happened, also three weeks in the news cycle and online media to realy dissect it.
No prem games to distract, pretty sure the Premier League done this on purpose.

Agree2

28 Sep 2026 21:28:17
Snoots the story about them being found guilty has been 'leaked'.

The Premier League have not said anything official at all so it's quite feasible that a major media outlet has put the cat amongst the pigeons to keep up the clicks during the international break.

I literally wouldn't put anything past the British media.

Agree1

29 Sep 2026 13:14:32
Rios, the problem with your logic is that Ornstien was the contact and if he did this without doing his due diligence, can you imagine the defamation lawsuits that would be flying his way along with that of the media company he works for?

I know the British media is dodgy as heck but not to the point that they will let their journalist face the penalty of multiple defamation lawsuits just to get some "clicks".
