Pep is a bigger draw than Slot, and we are a mess ATM so this would not surprise me. We live in hope that the players preference from the summer remains but I imagine City are paying more and are currently a better option from a sporting perspective.

I've seen a few ITKs on Twitter saying the same, we're allegedly pressing pause on Semenyo and targeting Barcola (and others, Nico Williams name is getting thrown around as well) in January. Seems a bit strange to me seeing as we'd likely have to clear space in the Premier League squad to play Barcola, whereas Semenyo counts as homegrown.

I think Barcola is going to be one of the best wingers in the world in the next couple of years. Remember the lad is still very young and is posting good numbers all be it in Ligue 1.

The only reason you would opt for Barcola over Semenyo is fee. Semenyo was signed by Hughes who knows his quality, is home grown, premier league proven and fits our style of play and system. Barcola could potentially have a higher ceiling but that’s potential and he could also flop in the premier league.

Hi all,

One last update before Christmas begins.

As you can all understand and see by now, Arne Slot is going nowhere. An internal decision has been reached that is giving Arne full backing until next summer (barring a collapse even worse than what we seen previously which most likely won’t happen) . In the last month or two, due diligence was completed on other options but he was never informed they were finding a replacement despite what some sources say.

Additionally, Semenyo has informed all interested clubs that he prefers a move to Anfield, although City’s recent involvement in the matter has complicated things. I still predict he signs for us.

Guehi in January is very, very unlikely. Id be shocked if he left anytime other than on a free next summer.

Now we have put a couple of results together i can see why holding on to Slot makes sense for the short term but do we really want SlotBall as our new identity?
We have still been poor in my opinion and it doesn't fill me with confidence that it would take a collapse WORSE than the previous one (which hasn't been seen for 70+ years) for Hughes and co to react.

As I sated previously he's not going anywhere as Palace won't find an alternative and he won't push for it. Semenyo fits our system so much better than others. Wil he want Togo to City and sit on the bench more or come to us and start. City still have to move on a player or two.

Things will become clear soon enough, reporting is all speculative at the moment. According to media We’ve went from having agreements in place to haven’t spoke since November in the space of 48 hours.
One can only assume that he was/ is keen on Liverpool but others have now entered the contest and he’s assessing his options.

There is a clear release clause in place so no chance of a bidding war, all comes down to player preference! Maybe he has seen how crap our style of play is and decided to take a swerve.

Man United fan in peace. I think the world and its mother wants Semenyo but in Liverpool's case I'd question if he's the right choice. The inevitable consequence I think is you guys are writing off at least one of Isak, Ekitike, Wirtz, Gakpo and certainly also Salah - and also Ngumoha would get fewer minutes. Imo you bought Ekitike last summer with an eye on replacing Salah (albeit different position) .


Undoubtedly Semenyo is an excellent player but it appears to me you lads should be focused on getting in a no. 6, another CB and at least one full back.
I'll be jealous if he goes to you lads instead of us though. Certainly feels like another Sadio Mane moment for us.

Have it on good authority that Liverpool are already progressing in talks with Semenyo’s camp.

Relationship still good with Bournemouth and release clause will be met in the first two weeks if Liverpool are given the green light by Semenyo and his team.

Hughes, Board and Slot’s team in discussions about pushing ahead with the agreed fee of £35m for Guehi. Belief is that Liverpool hierarchy feel a push for Champions League and FA Cup are possible this season if strengthened at the back. Also not ruling out push for the title. Owners agree with still pushing for Guehi as can still play Champions League football for us.

I posted on 27th August about Isak and Guehi bids being made and had doubters, but my source delivered on that both bids would be made.

Will update you as soon as I have more on both camps.

It is not a very good business decision to pay £35m for a player you can have for free in 6 months time. If Palace won't budge on valuation, I think we'll take the risk and wait until the summer.

If he chooses another club so be it. He's a good player, but he's not an elite talent we have to sign at all costs. Jacquet and/ or Ordonez should be signed.

A free is never a free because the club typically has to pay a hefty signing on fee to the player hence why so many players run down there contract, not saying it’s anywhere near a 35m mark but signing a player on a ‘free’ is somewhat misleading. Can’t really complain about palaces stance here we did the same and even managed to rinse Madrid of 10m for letting Trent leave a month early.

Still good business in my opinion as we cannot go into the2nd half of the season with no back ups and a potential champions league run.

Some rumours from online so take with a pinch of salt.

Gabriel Mec from Gremio. Young 17 yr old talent who we have watched since 2023. Keeping tabs on him but so are many others.

Franculino from Guinea who didn't qualify for Afcon. Plays for FC Midtjlland. Striker in hot form. £25m wanted by us and Everton but Bayern and Dortmund also very keen. Deal would be ideal in January.

Jeremy Monga 16 plays for Leicester. Massive talent wanted by everyone. Apparently not signed a professional deal yet but we have spoken to him to show a pathway like Rio.

Bouaddi from Lille being watched. Just turned 18 but is a gem. Lille want to keep him. Arsenal apparently have a bid ready.

Apparently we've bid £52m for Bergvall from Spurs. That's according to Spanish press. Spurs don't want to sell but need the money to spend themselves.
