Game over at half time. Salah and Jones and Virg are their usual error-prone anonymous selves. PSG will batter us by four on Wednesday and guaranteed to lose against our perennial bogey team Fulham next weekend. And we'll be out of champ leagues contention by then.
Why is slot still in charge. Is this some practical joke. He is the wrong man for this club. Leave now. Good rail links from Manchester to London for you to fly back to Holland this evening.
04 Apr 2026 13:53:43
Well, both those teams are better than us; so you'd expect them to win...

Can we sack a manager mid game?
Tired of hearing about underlying stats, this guy doesn't understand the club.

04 Apr 2026 14:05:19
My God, this is absolutely disgraceful stuff. No fight. No heart. I'm dreading the PSG match already. How can we go from league winners to this absolute muck in one season. Never seen any team fall off a cliff like this in such a short space of time. Depressing to watch.

Away for the weekend, was a bit frustrated to miss the game, but seems that was rather lucky.

It's beyond embarrassing at this stage, and borderline depressing, to be honest. Think I'm developing PTSD (Post Traumatic Slot Disorder). Therapy may be on the cards.
Agree3
04 Apr 2026 14:18:37
What's worse than the scoreline is not being surprised by it. Slot has long lost the dressing room, and there's only one answer to that.
Agree3
04 Apr 2026 14:37:33
Utter shambolic start to finish. Mr Oliver this time cannot be held responsible. The one to blame is As, surely he needs to go and go now. Surely he has some dignity left in him.
I'm dreading niteshift tonite. Am on with a devil's 11 fan and an Arsenal fan. Not looking forward to wed nite, but a will always be a Red. The good times will come back, and soon I hope. 👍

Fanbase called it in November, yet the board stuck with this dross… Back in the day it would have been thanks for the memories and move on end of last season for VVD and Salah. That’s not captain hindsight either btw. I wanted them both moved on; MK will back me up as well from our WhatsApp group.
04 Apr 2026 13:56:26
Too late to change now apparently.
Agree1

Dougie, sadly most of the fans were still crying, we can't sack him, he won us the league, b*******! Luckily I don't represent the larger fan base.

Another transfer mistake was selling Kellegher. Mamardashvili is a good shot stopper but he puts us in jeopardy every time he passes the ball out. Not good enough. Allison has missed a good chunk of the season for the last three years, no longer reliable enough, so we need to buy two keepers on the summer in my eyes.
04 Apr 2026 12:17:01
Kelleher wanted out.
Agree7
04 Apr 2026 12:35:00
Mama was "the" best GK at Euros 24.
Agree3
04 Apr 2026 12:46:58
OP, and what do we propose we should have done? Lock him up in the Anfield basement? Seriously, let it go. Kelleher wanted to go and, in fact, he stayed an extra season, as he wanted to go the season before.
That's not a mistake. That is taking care of a player who had played well enuff for you to win trophies and granting him his wish.
Agree5
04 Apr 2026 13:43:48
Kelleher wanted it cos there was no sign he would ever be first choice.

Reading today's BBC piece on Tyler Morton and how he rediscovered his love of football at Lyon, it makes me think Harvey Elliot could resurrect his career and thrive in the French or Italian leagues.
04 Apr 2026 11:36:56
Massive shame for Elliot basically having a year out from football.
I think it's testament to 3 quarters of our team though who've also decided to have a year out of football.

While there isn't much to talk about concerning Liverpool while the internationals are on. That Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior seems a very weird cat, doesn't he? He has come out with some riddles lately, when the players was respecting the ball bfr kick off n a few other bits of strange.
Now 2 Chelsea players seem to have said similar things about moving clubs while on international duty, but one is suspended n the other one allowed to play, but he had 2 great chats with both.
03 Apr 2026 23:48:39
I'm still at a loss how he even got the Chelsea job. Don't get me wrong, I hope they don't get rid of him any time soon.
Agree14
04 Apr 2026 00:43:35
IR.. I hope they give him a 5 year contract.
Agree2
04 Apr 2026 00:52:04
Strom, that'd be shorter than the 6 year contract he does have.
Agree12
04 Apr 2026 06:01:53
SR, I thought he was only temp... 6 year contract, how on earth did he manage to get that.
Agree4
04 Apr 2026 07:15:28
That is a temporary contract for Chelsea.
Most of their new signings get 15 year contracts.
Agree8
04 Apr 2026 08:06:39
Which is why they're still stuck with Mudryk till 2032. Like, bro could get banned for 4yrs, make a return to football and still have 2yrs left on his contract. It's crazy!
Agree4
04 Apr 2026 08:45:21
And that's where Pep is miles apart. Look how he is handling the Rodri and Foden situations, then look at Rosenior...
Just as we are asking for Chelsea to give him another 6 years, they are probably saying the same about Slot.
Agree0
04 Apr 2026 07:50:20
Ed1, is Rosenior a temporary manager for Chelsea? Or a permanent one? Some saying he sign 5/6 years contract? I always thought he is a temporary manager until they go after someone like Iraola, Hoeness, Alonso or anyone else with better pedigree in the summer.
Agree0
{Ed001's Note - his contract runs until 2032, not sure even Chelsea would call that temporary. The Chelsea fans were astonished at him being brought in on such a long term contract.}
04 Apr 2026 09:03:13
Is there some sort of cooking of the books going on at Chelsea Ed? I can think of no sane reason to give Rosenior such a long contract?
Agree0
{Ed001's Note - they are just badly run by clueless sporting executives trying to follow a business plan with no idea of how it translates to this industry.}
04 Apr 2026 10:32:50
It's gross incompetence and negligence to have that sort of spending power and f*** it up/squander it so badly.
I'm equal measures staggered and absolutely delighted!

Cooking of the books COTG?
Im no finance guy, but they have just reported the biggest pre-tax loss of any PL team ever....
Since there is no ladies team to sell to themselves, or some fancy hotel to sell to themselves, these financial results speak volumes. Just imagine if they didn't sell those entities to themselves last year!!!!
Their business model is to buy the best young talent, and then sell them in for a massive profit.
I always thought that they were quite well off as a result of that model, but clearly not.
Like I said, im no finance guy, so maybe my understanding is way off.
Agree0
04 Apr 2026 11:47:54
JLC, I was more meaning there's surely some sort of financial loophole they're striving for by offering such a long contract to Rosenior (I'm not saying there is, just scratching my head on the thought process).
If there isn't, it's the most brain dead decision I've probably ever seen when hiring a manager. Hiring him in the first place was bold. But giving him a 6 year deal is ludicrous.
Agree0
04 Apr 2026 13:28:44
Clearly he got the job because he's just a yes man for Blueco. I'm certain it wasn't his decision to ban Fernandez for the next two games, it was a mandate handed to him from above because they felt like they have to do something (though why they didn't punish Cucurella for saying something much more serious, asking not once but twice why Maresca was fired, and indicating his disagreement).
Rosenior just seems really weak and out of his depth. He said all that stuff about respecting the ball because he wanted to curry favour with the players.
It just feels like the players don't respect him and the press don't respect him. Blueco just expect him to follow their misguided orders (Maresca didn't, which was why he had to walk), and he's desperate to impress because he got a shortcut to one of the biggest jobs in world football, but he has been afforded no room at all to impose himself in any way, and the players don't take him seriously because of his nonexistent stature in the game anyway. It's just a disaster.

Good to see Roy Hodgson proving the new manager bounce still exists!
With 7 games to go!

It was ugly how it ended for him at Palace, so I hope he gets to end his career on a high.

03 Apr 2026 15:33:43
I f*** love Alison, he is still in the very top tier of goalkeepers in the world. For me, injured or not he shouldn't be let go anywhere until his match is met.
03 Apr 2026 17:04:49
Given that we triggered the extension, it looks likely he'll be here until the end of next season, finding his equal might prove tricky.
Agree6
03 Apr 2026 17:13:02
I agree. Nothing has changed, really, he's loved an injury for years.
Agree6
03 Apr 2026 17:32:24
To replace Ali, Salah and Vvd was always going to be an enormous task. 3 all time greats for the club. Salah + Vvd, I think, make our best all time 11 and it Ali r Clem in nets.
Agree4
03 Apr 2026 20:38:53
Certainly in this era they are extremely difficult to replace, especially like for like. City have the same issue too, tho, with the great players they've had of late. It definitely feels like there's a lack of quality out there.
It is going to be interesting to see what way the club deal with it. Semenyo would have been a handy addition and reasonably well priced too. 🙄
Agree5
04 Apr 2026 10:02:23
We need Khelleher back. We didn't miss him as much when we had Khelleher as back up to come in. Mamadashvilli isn't at that level. With only, say, a season or two left with us, and his injuries more common these days, I think it makes sense to get back.
Best number two we ever had.
I know he left for more first team football, but he would get that now, as Beckers injuries are occurring more often.

03 Apr 2026 11:58:19
Alisson out til towards the end of the season. Christ.
03 Apr 2026 12:22:48
Time to see what Mama is really worth. He will have a run of games to get into it too.

Agree11
03 Apr 2026 13:03:45
PSG will be buoyed, after his heroics there last season. This is a huge loss, unfortunately Mama is nowhere near good enough from what I've seen.
Agree10
03 Apr 2026 13:59:49
Cafu, the whole season has been a disaster already.
Agree5
03 Apr 2026 16:14:45
Whose idea was it to buy Mama in the first place. He is extremely poor with the ball at his feet. He doesn't possess the skillset to play for LFC.
Jaros was and is a much better option for no.2. He should not have been loaned out. He was the obvious candidate to replace Kelleher.
Agree7
03 Apr 2026 11:39:00
Sounds like Alisson is gonna be out for a few weeks according to James Pearce. Well "towards the end of the season" was his words. 🤦
03 Apr 2026 11:57:30
Unpopular opinion, I know, but if Italian clubs are interested in him, then we should let him go. It is ridiculous, the amount of injuries; no other keeper gets them, yet Alisson gets them consistently and at the worst possible times. Something is not right, could be the training he undergoes, the application he has towards maintaining and looking after himself, but enough is enough.
Unconvinced by Giorgi, so suspect we would need to look elsewhere for our number 1. God knows where. I doubt we would though, as it is simply more we would need to cover in a transfer window which requires us to buy a RB, CB, LB, CM, RW and LW. That is an insane number of coverage, considering we spent 450 million last summer, and yet still have these positions to target.
Agree6
03 Apr 2026 12:28:41
Has anyone seen much of Pecsi for the u21s? He looks like he needs to fill out a bit, and, in goalkeeping terms, still very young. Mamardashvili wanted to prove he could be Liverpool's no1. Personally, I'm less than convinced so far.
Agree0
{Ed025's Note - Mama is a poor mans Jordan Pickford for me No8, good shot stopper but the rest of is game is pants, poor positioning, not very good at crosses and a worse kicking game than Douglas Bader mate..
03 Apr 2026 12:46:12
Should've kept Kelleher.
Agree7
03 Apr 2026 12:54:46
Kelleher wanted away, SR.

03 Apr 2026 13:00:58
Mamardashvili has played in 11 league and CL games this season and we've lost 8 of them.
This is a massive opportunity for the lad.
Does it get any bigger than City and PSG away next?
Agree3
03 Apr 2026 13:16:15
Douglas Bader 🤣
Didn't expect to see his name pop up on here.
FYI for anybody that doesn't know who that is I would suggest a quick google to a) understand how badly ed0025 thinks of mama's kicking but b) it's worth it to learn more about his story which is colourful to say the least.
Agree3
{Ed025's Note - a great man in history Wazza mate..
03 Apr 2026 15:41:24
It's not only the games Alli misses, it's the games it then takes him to get his sharpness back when he returns. He's moved like a 40-year-old in some of the games he's played this season. He seems afraid to put his full force behind his kicks, which results in him pulling them.
Absolute legend. Best in my time as a fan, but for me, if we could get a top young replacement in, it's time to maybe part ways after the season.
Agree1
03 Apr 2026 15:45:27
I vaguely remember him being on "This Is Your Life" years ago. He told the story about his false legs trapping him in his Spitfire when he needed to bail out. He undid them and parachuted without them. A proper hero.
Agree3
03 Apr 2026 15:56:04
I recall seeing an interview with Simon Mignolet, and he was saying that Ali has very impressive fast twitch reflexes, which are part of what makes him such a great keeper... Fast twitch players are more prone to muscle injuries, and I think in Ali's case his injury record is as simple as that rather than a training or mismanagement issue.
Agree3
03 Apr 2026 16:02:52
There's no one out there I'd swap Alison for. Best bet would be to sort the sh*te in front of him so he's not got extra to do.
Agree4
03 Apr 2026 16:20:22
Even if he misses or isn't 100% fit for half the games, John?
Agree1
03 Apr 2026 16:24:48
I'm struggling to think of another keeper who has had as many injuries as Alisson. When you think the great Ray Clemence played 336 games on the spin. I'm not criticising Alisson, he's our best ever. Just saying.
Agree7
03 Apr 2026 16:43:23
Regards to Douglas Bader, a tad racist you will find.
Agree4
03 Apr 2026 16:42:28
Florian he doesn't miss half the games and when he does play he's elite. You can isolate a few moments but who's better. As usual Florian the contrarian would argue with his reflection.
Agree6
03 Apr 2026 16:57:11
Frode, he misses a lot of games. He then takes a few to get back to 100%. I don't know who's better, I don't know the European Leagues like I would have when I was younger. As I said, he's a legend and the best I've seen play for us.
I would have him for another 10 years on ability alone. It's just the injuries. You bury your head in the sand about them if you want, but they'll still be there.
Agree3
03 Apr 2026 16:56:37
Douglas Bader Ed025 now that's quality mate 😂 👏. A hero of WWII in the air
Agree0
{Ed025's Note - he was Barry...if only Mama was as good in the air mate.. :)
03 Apr 2026 17:01:45
Douglas Bader once had to escape his crippled plane after he was shot down. Unclipped his legs then bailed out without them. Crazy to think he would do that. I'm pretty sure his kicking would have been better than Mamas 🤣
Agree2
{Ed025's Note - he was certainly braver than MacAllister CGD.. :)
03 Apr 2026 18:18:30
Ha ha class Ed! Let's be honest though Mac is no stronger than the average 5 year old, bless him. What happened to the player from the last couple of seasons Ed? I thought he was class when he first arrived.
Agree0
{Ed025's Note - i really dont know CGD, i cant remember all that nonsense when he was at Brighton mate...but to be fair i never watched a lot of their games, the only thing i can think of is that...he is Argentinian.. :)
03 Apr 2026 18:45:19
The prison camp guards used to confiscate Bader's legs to stop his escape attempts.
Meanwhile, we have footballers who roll large distances when nudged while running fast, then stay down acting like they've been shot.
What a contrast.
Agree5
{Ed025's Note - they were made of sterner stuff those days Flash, i would not want the players these days next to me in the trenches mate.. :)
03 Apr 2026 18:40:15
Agree Ed, cultural differences. We need steel in the middle of the park and we definitely don't have any real bite. Love Grav as a 6, he is perfect for it but we need legs and a little snap next to him.
That would allow us to move Slob either as the 10 or a 7 on the wing, I think he would be fantastic as a wide forward.
Agree0
03 Apr 2026 19:05:21
So edd25 how many times have you watched mama play? I remember Pickford was poor when he first came to EFC so as the saying goes you can't judge a book by it's cover.
Agree1
{Ed025's Note - all of his games at Liverpool Albey...probably the same as you mate..my eyes are not 20/20 these days but i know a lemon when i see one..
03 Apr 2026 19:32:00
I have to say Ed
I'm not with you entirely on Pickford
Everything seems to be a show for him
He often makes the ordinary look spectacular
Agree3
{Ed025's Note - hes a good keeper SB, never injured and has saved us a lot of points over the years mate, is he perfect..no..what keeper is?, yes he makes the odd mistake but which keeper doesn,t?, he makes a lot of world class saves and for me hes one of the best around..
