Anfieldwatch say we have reached an agreement in principle on Barcola.
27 Jul 2026 11:11:13
You mean Craig, who was on here at the weekend... I'll wait until one of our "go to" people on here confirm it.
27 Jul 2026 11:13:51
Can we please stop referencing Anfield Watch on here? It's nothing more than a clickbait site and a very bad one! Let's not give them any more traffic.
27 Jul 2026 09:50:24
Good morning
I have it on good authority Diomande is not happening, that ship has sailed now, we are moving on to other targets. Real Madrid will tie up a deal this week. We will wrap up Barcola very soon, Gapko will go to Bayern, Rayan will sign for around 80m, big movement this week.

27 Jul 2026 12:01:18
Don't forget to come back in a week (if this happens) under a different username and praise yourself!
{Ed025's Note - love it MK..
27 Jul 2026 12:10:21
We need more big movements.
{Ed025's Note - try eating dates WDW.. :)
27 Jul 2026 08:47:42
Well I be.
I started on this site and there were only references of macca. Never seen a post!
Welcome back macca. you have quite the rep. like you just walked on stage. gave everyone the winning lotto numbers. dropped the Mike. and walked off left stage!.
This site is mental. I love all the posters. all make it what it is. we are blessed to have people willing to share what they hear. people talking sense. talking nonsense. support. rage bait. all of it.
Long may it continue.
And Ed25. hope to hear from you a lot more too. for a blue on the red page. your posts are funny and sometimes good old fashioned banter.even if you still believe in Pickford!
{Ed025's Note - i believe in a lot of things MR, God...equality...and the Loch ness monster to name 3, i think i may have walked the latter home from the Grafton in the 70,s mate.. :)
27 Jul 2026 10:47:41
I believe in Joe Hendry.
27 Jul 2026 12:39:55
"I believe in miracles."
{Ed001's Note - you sexy thing!}
27 Jul 2026 10:58:40
Well in that case Ed025 I definitely shifted her Irish cousin âšī¸
{Ed025's Note - we are all guilty of that Barry mate.. :)
27 Jul 2026 06:48:56
How's it going Ed001, all good? I have a question, well more of a curiosity, as to how much of a help for the site if you have the AI moderation tools available?
Should help make editing easier and quicker for all the Eds?
{Ed001's Note - I have no idea what you are even talking about, sorry.}
27 Jul 2026 07:48:39
I think it's a bit much to expect Andoni Iraola to moderate this site, as well as managing the team!
27 Jul 2026 08:10:18
Will be interesting to see his moderation tool. I don't think I've ever seen one. Perhaps I should get out more.
27 Jul 2026 09:27:01
Haha mates, it's essentially a chat-moderation tool. So you set out the parameters of what you will automatically exclude (profanities, racial slurs etc), so it will take care of it without your input.
But at the same time, and the reason I asked, was that I was curious if the site uses it and if so, how would you have set out the parameters because the range of topics that we would comment on are vast and wide.
27 Jul 2026 09:04:42
All the Eds need is a cattle prod and a heavy mallett.
Happy to lend these, if required.
27 Jul 2026 09:37:05
Brilliantly explained, Azk2. I hope you didn't use AI to write it!
27 Jul 2026 09:44:13
So it's a censorship tool that also manipulates what people write to conform to a set of pre-defined set of parameters to provide a text that suits the person applying the tool to edit the input.

27 Jul 2026 10:22:31
Ed01 đ¤Ŗđ¤Ŗđ¤Ŗđ¤Ŗ.
If we had AI we wouldn't get that response or Ed33s to Spion yesterday!!
27 Jul 2026 10:37:50
Whatever tools they may or may not use the Eds do a great job of modding the site đ
27 Jul 2026 06:01:24
Question to Carra, thefields, robbo, VG, or anyone who knows:
You said we have put in months of hard work to untangle Diomande's legal situation to make a move possible.
Has PSG done the same? And how can Real sign him late in the window - wouldn't they also need months of work first before signing him? Or is everyone piggy-backing off the work we did?!
Many thanks!
27 Jul 2026 08:33:54
Only ones prepared to pay the silly money to wanted by the club, player, and difficult agents' demands.
27 Jul 2026 11:00:38
But Real Madrid haven't signed him, they are only in the same position as us and PSG. We have all agreed terms, but nobody has met the price tag for selling.
27 Jul 2026 00:12:00
I'm here long enough to remember when Macca had his own "Macca's rumours" tab on this page haha. Nice to see him back and concise as ever.
26 Jul 2026 11:32:02
Morning ed001
With your knowledge of injury management could you give an assessment of the pathway back from long term injury's.
I'm thinking about Leonie from ACL I wondering if his shear size and stature has an effect on his recovery? As an opposed to a smaller guy like Bradley. Or would it be mainly due to the level of tear?
Also how much would a shoulder injury affect a centre back? Is it a balance thing or moreover an avoidance of contact?
Finally Ekitike I worry about this one. I remember Jon Barns suffering the same years ago. He did get back stronger. But with the game being so much quicker can a recovery be expected?
Soz for lots of questions. But short term deals in the TFM could help maybe?
Thanks Edd
{Ed001's Note - the key thing is the severity of the injury. Then it is actually the person themselves, not their sheer size etc, just their bodies natural reaction to injury. Some people are fast healers, some are slow healers. Some bodies suffer worse from wear and tear, others their bodies don't really suffer with it.
It depends on the injury as to how it affects the player, a dislocation, for example, is a pain as it usually weakens the protection around the joint creating a weakness that can see it reoccur. Each time it does occur, it becomes more prone to happening again.
Ekitike's is a problem, even now with the improved medical care it is a very serious one. Again there are many factors affecting how well he can return, not least his own body's reaction to it. Even in the past some people could return from an ACL, when for most it was career ending, for example. There is no one size fits all answer when we are talking about human beings, as we are all slightly different. We just have to hope the surgeon was on top of his game, that the rehab was done perfectly (which is mostly on him as he has to put everything into it) and that his body is capable of coping with the stress it is going through. If so, he will be back to something like his best. The most likely result is that he will be, in the short term, heavily affected but will gradually learn to adapt to any issues. Luckily he is young, so it is a bit easier to learn and adapt, so he has every chance to getting back to a level where he can use experience to work around any issues and adapt his game to suit the way his body will work for him.}
27 Jul 2026 08:20:42
One example is Jude with that shoulder issue. If you watch him when he gets wacked in it, he does wince and move a bit badly for a couple minutes.
Hugo, I believe, is working with the same doctor that helps the NBA stars out who get the same injury, so the hope is he's got them playing back to full potential.
Hopefully he does with Hugo.
26 Jul 2026 08:18:52
Ed001 where do you think our transfer priorities lie going into the new season? It's clear we are looking at a versatile winger but do we need 2?
Also do you think we need another CB with experience or do we go with VVD, Jaquet, Leoni and the youngsters who I have to say looked quite good earlier today against Sunderland.
Striker wise Isak looks to be the only striker option with Ekitike a good way off being recovered from injury?
{Ed001's Note - it depends on how you view it, we do defo need 1 versatile winger, but a second would strengthen the squad (possibly team depending on who it was) but I would say that one is priority.
Again, it would be nice to have an experienced defender, but it is not the flat out urgent need, which is clearly a right-back. After that, I think the biggest hole in the squad is some bite in the centre of midfield. Then for me, we then need a forward, preferably a versatile one who can play across the front line. A centre-back would be next.
The big question is which of those gaps in the squad does Iraola see players in and around the squad that he believes can be developed to fill those gaps. That can change everything.}
27 Jul 2026 10:48:20
I'd say RB and CB are the potential holes.
RB - can Ramsey and Frimpong cover that gap until Bradley is fully match fit?
CB - VVD and Jacquet are the starters. Leoni is backup when he is match fit. Then you have the young lads minus Ndukwe.
We have a lot of players who can play in the front 4 positions and I'm including Koumas in there now.
Do we need an upgrade? I think that would be useful.
We also have a lot of central midfielders, but we need 2024/5 Gravenberch not 2025/6 Gravenberch. We probably need an upgrade in there.
27 Jul 2026 08:21:18
Completely agree Ed001. 3 priorities are a winger, a right back and a defensive midfielder. These are the positions in the starting XI that need filling. As long as the right back can also cover centre back though. You mentioned Kounde a while back, and I think he's a match made in heaven.
If funds allow then another winger and a centre back are nice to haves. These 2 signings would allow us to loan out either Chiesa or Rio and also leave Gomez in the background to wind down his career/contract without any reliance on him whatsoever.
{Ed001's Note - Kounde does seem to fit very well.}
27 Jul 2026 08:23:52
Agreed Ed01 I wonder if he's taking a long look at Ndiaye, Mconnel, Bajetic, Nyoni and Koumas just to see if he does need to fill all the holes in the squad or could he focus on 1/2 areas and use the youth for the others.
Koumas did look decent at the 9 position and could be a option
26 Jul 2026 21:10:39
First time poster, love the website Ed's keep up the good work.
@John Barnes looks like Diomande is not coming to us, fair play to Grizz for calling it in June that we have walked away

26 Jul 2026 22:19:19
I can't even fathom some of the stuff that goes on. I just happen to love LFC.
26 Jul 2026 22:22:06
Not sure what people get out of doing stuff like this. People should go easy on him, though, since we don't actually know what's going on in people's lives to need this kind of validation from strangers online.
26 Jul 2026 22:18:17
Get a life mate
26 Jul 2026 22:19:36

Remember you don't score if you don't shoot. đ
27 Jul 2026 08:34:03
Oh Grizz. You realise Ed033 is a savant? He knows all of our IP addresses by heart. The guy has memorised the value of pi to 3,000 decimal places.
27 Jul 2026 07:47:04
Each to their own, big pat on the back to the eds for making this site so special. There's guys trying to be someone on here i find that hilarious. What a great forum here, takes all sorts to create a community.
Cheers to all the guys making an effort and giving us info, even the guys taking the p#ss its entertaining.
27 Jul 2026 08:15:35
Haha brilliant Ed! Good man Grizz, nothing like a bit of self praise.
Tbf I always assume with the amount of "first time posters" and ITKs these days there has to be multiple accounts.
A broken clock and all that.
27 Jul 2026 09:17:06
@Red Kie, It would be a "retromingent gilfnard".
27 Jul 2026 10:08:53
