Straight from the book of Fabinho and Gakpo this one.
Accelerated through the early hours due to USA time difference.
Before my '40 winks' last night, I had absolutely no word on us moving for Munoz.
It goes to show, the club are ready to react when needed.
This was Edwards and new Head coach Iraola's choice to activate the release clause after a relatively brief conversation.
Personal terms never an issue. Nice to see Andoni getting a say on players.

Bid for Victor Munoz at Osasunna imminent, release clause I believe 42m £s. One player who was a top Newcastle target and A. Madrid. Don't know too much about him but in a good Spain World Cup squad.
Think that means no Barcola, but if right price agreed we do want Diamonde. Also AA wants Mingueza.
18 Jun 2026 03:30:07
It's a done deal. £34m or EUR40m was his buyout. We wanted him, but he was in talks with Newcastle, who were haggling over the fee, so we just went in and paid it.
18 Jun 2026 04:35:18
@Keegan, Victor Munoz could do with a purm.
18 Jun 2026 05:15:57
Strad, I am hoping he does go for one with an added moustache. Although a Perm not purm would be ideal.
18 Jun 2026 05:45:40
Newcastle this morning phoning up Department s.
18 Jun 2026 06:41:56
Another signing kept totally under wraps like Jacquet.
18 Jun 2026 06:46:20
Looks a good player. Young and at a good price. This is like the kinda signings we used to do.
18 Jun 2026 06:54:55
Newcastle p*ss must be boiling, we are definitely not their favourite team.
18 Jun 2026 07:14:32
I read that Real Madrid have a buy-back clause for 2027 included. Hope this is not true.
{Ed001's Note - they had one with Osasuna, that will not carry over when he moves.}
18 Jun 2026 07:16:27
As much as I like Newcastle, they are the Spurs of the north.
18 Jun 2026 07:23:53
RM's buy back clause was clearly in his contract at Osasuna, Smede, not part of our deal.
18 Jun 2026 07:24:29
I have no idea about him either, but he looks quick and strong in possession, so he has traits which can succeed in the Premier League.
He looks like the love-child of Alberto Moreno and Fernando Torres.
18 Jun 2026 07:26:40
I read they are due 50% if the fee SmedeDK. Doubt we would be interested with a buy back.
18 Jun 2026 07:34:07
Haven't seen much of him, but from what I have, he seems quick, direct and has an eye for a goal. He has scored a few different types of goals, and seems comfortable shooting with both feet. Love the signing, relatively under the radar, and while still a jump on his feet from last season, that's the modern day 10/15mil, I guess.
In a world where Gordon is worth 80mil, it's definitely a good punt. Wages you'd imagine wouldn't be crazy either.
18 Jun 2026 07:46:29
Primarily a LW, so I wonder if it means that Gakpo will be going?
18 Jun 2026 08:05:05
Or does it mean there's some legs in Rio to Bayern?
18 Jun 2026 08:08:54
The only bad thing about this deal is that Real apparently are set to make 20 mill of the fee that we give Osasuna. That gives them more headroom to pay wages as they continue to collect freebies around Europe.
18 Jun 2026 08:11:53
Seems to me that this purchase is influenced heavily by Iraola.
Not sure how high he was in the list before Iraola came.
Looks raw as usual for us, but there's a lot of things that look really good about him. Seems to me his worst quality is decision making, and that is usually something that can be coached.
One thing he certainly has is electric speed. Don't think full backs will enjoy playing against him. Also looks to have a good shot on him.
Good price too.
Hopeful on this one without knowing too much about him.
18 Jun 2026 08:38:59
Wouldn't say so, Davey. I'd imagine it's primarily Hughes, like last summer. Don't think Ireola wants much say in new players.
18 Jun 2026 08:44:09
He needs a pruper purm if he's to be taken seriously.
18 Jun 2026 08:48:19
It will be a decent signing if it's as well as Diamonde, who I assume is at a more advanced stage than any talk of Barcola. On paper, a lot of fans would have preferred the two star names for LW and RW, but I get this sort of transfer economically and it's definitely an Iraola target. I wonder if he has heavy influence on all the transfers.
One thing I have noticed with Barcola is that he seems to be used as an impact sub both internationally and for PSG when all options for respective sides are fit.
It seems like that's when he's at his best, running in behind and at tired defences on the counter, rather than low block defences with his team having loads of possession, maybe I'm wrong but I do think he's a top player and I hope Arsenal don't get him. Diamonde on the other hand is raw but probably has more of the attributes Iraola is looking for, because he's very similar to Semenyo. I hope we add Nunez on a free as well and that spells the end of Gakpo and Chiesa.
18 Jun 2026 09:00:46
I recall Iraola saying that if his wide men could still run after 65 mins they hadn't worked hard enough. On that basis, we need at least 4 wide players. 1 down, 2 more to come, plus Rio.
18 Jun 2026 00:18:41
Reading up on Munoz he's a left winger, we have Gakpo and Rio who play left wing for us, isn't Diomande also a left winger? Surely this means we aren't getting him now?
18 Jun 2026 00:23:20
Diomande can play both wings, but played mostly RW last season.
I thought he was better on the RW too in the game against Ecuador, can cut in, hold the ball up or go down the byline... very dynamic player.
18 Jun 2026 00:23:34
Diomande is right footed and can play both sides.
Played primarily RW for Leipzig and interestingly scored 7/12 goals with his left foot.
Perhaps a function of coming off the right perhaps?
I wouldn't be worried about it anyways, he'll be versatile.
18 Jun 2026 00:34:05
Diomande will be playing on the Rw, he is the Salah replacement.
Gakpo rumoured to want out of LFC, Munoz can also play as a striker, which will be very handy, as the likelihood of Isak staying fit all season is very slim indeed.
I would suggest this means Barcola will not be signing, but as I am a humble poster and not an ITK, I could be wrong about that.
18 Jun 2026 00:36:59
There may be some legs to the rumours surrounding Gakpo, I'm guessing.
If we get Diomande and Munoz, then that would also allow Rio to play and rotate with both. That, plus possibly Elliott, would produce some threat beyond what we had last season.
Pace too, which has been desperately needed. Munoz does feel like a Bournemouth signing, and I am excited to see what Iraola can do with a player with Munoz's physical attributes.
18 Jun 2026 01:00:58
Both can play either side.
18 Jun 2026 01:07:55
Tbh, if we sign Diomande & Munoz, that is decent business. Stand out player in a relegation threatened team and was responsible for 25% of their goals.
18 Jun 2026 02:23:26
Anyone know what sort of player Munoz is? What are his strengths? Where does he need to improve? I know very little about him, eh.
18 Jun 2026 03:31:54
He is like a Jota but with more pace and tricks. Probably not as clinical though.
18 Jun 2026 06:20:48
Pace, power, and dribbling seem his strengths. Like a Spanish Harvey Barnes ;).
{Ed001's Note - Munoz can play on either side as well.}
18 Jun 2026 06:23:26
Wee fella but speedy as they come. Versatile and tricksy.
18 Jun 2026 06:40:30
He's played right across the forward line this season, absolutely rapid, low centre of gravity, decent build, hard working lad with a good attitude. Signing out of nowhere, but one I'm happy about.
18 Jun 2026 09:59:00
So long as we add some physicality to the team too. Nice to have tricky speed merchants like Munoz and Rio, but we badly lack a bit of brute force. Hopefully we replace Mac Alister with someone more robust.
17 Jun 2026 23:31:19
Victor Munoz is now set to sign with us instead of Newcastle according to Fabrizo, didn’t see that one coming.
17 Jun 2026 20:26:36.
Hello,
I’m new to this, and this is my first post. I’ve got some sources at academy level, and therefore get some info here and there that I though I’d share here.
So, Liverpool are still working on signing Xavier Parker from Manchester City, with City pushing for him to stay. Expectation from some close to the situation is that the player will end up joining Liverpool, but nothing is confirmed at this stage.
17 Jun 2026 20:41:48
Nice one Noah.
17 Jun 2026 20:52:20
Welcome!!
17 Jun 2026 22:01:47
Cheers, Noah.
17 Jun 2026 22:06:42
Thanks for sharing, Noah.
17 Jun 2026 23:11:28
Nice one Noah, going for a pint in the Ark-les?
17 Jun 2026 23:24:17
Exactly what this site is all about, thank you, Noah.
17 Jun 2026 18:45:24
Italian media reports Inter have come back in with a deal to meet Liverpool's valuation for Jones. We wanted £25m. Inter have offered £21.8m rising to the £25m.
17 Jun 2026 19:11:30
How is Anderson, Wharton and even Tonali valued at 80m+ but we baring getting 20m for Jones.
17 Jun 2026 19:17:29
Contract length and general ability?
17 Jun 2026 19:36:10
Anderson, Wharton and Tonali are objectively better midfielders and don't have one year left on their contract, it's quite simple.
17 Jun 2026 20:07:35
Ox had one year left and they wanted £40m.
I don't understand why he valued so low.
17 Jun 2026 20:08:47
If Curtis goes to Inter that's a really good move for him, and hopefully he does as well as recent British players out there. It's not a great fee but will help us continue with the refresh of the squad. Probably best for all parties.
17 Jun 2026 20:14:30
Don't think Wharton's done enough yet to say he's better than Jones. Not to the extent of being worth three or four times as much in the transfer market anyway. Jones was our 2nd best midfielder last season and he's local (although, if he was our worst midfielder, that wouldn't be a reason to keep him), literally only Dom was better.
£20m is pittance. Keep him and get him to sign on if that's all you're getting for him.
17 Jun 2026 20:26:31
Come on Florian, Jones is poor, not one manager has found his best position and he's 26? If it wasn't for his postcode, people would have wanted him gone a long time ago.
17 Jun 2026 20:47:02
He was brilliant, best midfielder at the club up to his sending off vs Spurs. He's not crap.
17 Jun 2026 21:00:56
If Jones is poor, we've a few poor midfielders, Fatwallet. He also turned 25 on 30th January. It's nothing to do with his postcode, he is a better player than some on here give him credit for. A good engine, and one of our better pressers, he can suit Ireola's play.
I'd have him in the England squad over Mainoo all day long. On performances, he should have been starting over Grav and Mecca last year. As it was, he still featured 49 times for us last season, struggling to think who'd have appeared more than that apart from Virg and maybe Ibou?
17 Jun 2026 21:05:32
I wouldn't be any fan of Jones myself. I agree with Fatwallet.
17 Jun 2026 21:06:28
Whilst I don't agree with all the Jones is crap stuff that is said on this site, given a full healthy squad, he doesn't start for me, however, he is the perfect squad player. The problem is whether he is happy with that role.
If he wants a starting place, then I think he better look elsewhere.
17 Jun 2026 21:22:50
Agree to disagree, Florian, I really don't rate him.
17 Jun 2026 21:23:59
No one's saying he has to start, JLC, but like you said he can be the perfect squad player. He played 2850 mins in all comps, which is nearly 32 full 90 mins, and let's face it, on merit he should have got more. Only 6 players made more appearances than him.
I think he would be happy with similar mins next season, or even a few more if we went a bit further in the domestic Cups. It's a fresh start for all the players now, and as the squad stands right now, if I was Curtis I'd back myself to try get into that 11.
17 Jun 2026 21:41:43
Jones is 25 and we know he is never going to be world class, he is decent but prone to the odd brain-fart. Wharton and Anderson are younger and the price reflects the possibility that they might develop into something like world class.
17 Jun 2026 22:02:46
Difference between Jones n Wharton etc, is the calibre of the players at Liverpool are a lot better than those at Palace, say if Wharton, for example, came through our academy n had to break into the team, would have got as many starts to show his value, but if Jones was at Palace he'd be a starter for most of their games.
17 Jun 2026 22:22:32
I agree, Strom. Someone said Jones is prone to the odd brain fart. Thing is, we see all the brain farts from young players at LFC, Utd or City, etc. We see every one of their games more or less, whereas with the likes of Forest and Pakace a lot of what we see is just highlights on MOTD.
Very easy to think these players do no wrong. They also don't face anything like the expectation players coming through at the top clubs do.
17 Jun 2026 22:36:28
Rising ro £25m?
I would rather give Jones a new contract and make him captain.
Just my two cents.
17 Jun 2026 23:07:27
Thats it, Florian, they are allowed to grow at the smaller teams, Jones is under scrutiny all the time at Liverpool. Not saying Wharton is a bad player, but Jones is a decent squad player for us.
Since we let everyone go for no transfer fee, why we worrying over 20 mill for a player who will play at least 30 games for us n knows the way we play, id keep him.
17 Jun 2026 23:23:52
It might have been easier for Curtis if he wasn't carrying the expectations on his back to be world class since he was 18.
I'll bet you a £1 to a pinch of excrement that he will flourish if he goes to Milan. Then we can expect the 'Why did we let him go?', 'Why don't we buy him back?' stuff.
17 Jun 2026 23:37:11
There will be a sell-on clause if he moves to Milan.
18 Jun 2026 00:37:30
25m is a joke. Should be 35m rising to 40m with achievable add-ons.
If he goes to Inter, he's going to have the same impact McTominnay (spelling) had at Napoli.
25-30m is probably what we could get for Elliott if we sold him to a German club, and he barely played all season.
I'd much rather keep Jones if that's all we're getting for him, he could be solid in Iraola's system.
Macca is the higher priority to sell in midfield. Seems to have no legs or desire to play for us.
Mind you, I wonder if Jones has simply checked out and is telling the club to sell him. His face when he scored on the last game of the season said a lot.
It sucks that Italian teams don't pay much.
18 Jun 2026 00:46:13
Keep Curtis.
18 Jun 2026 05:58:52
Serie A clubs aren't exactly shopping with champagne money. Neither is the rest of the world outside the Prem, mind you.
Personally, I think the finance scale weighted so heavily towards the Premier League is a problem.
18 Jun 2026 09:22:00
Jones was sent off against Spurs almost 3 years ago, lol.
Sep 2023.
17 Jun 2026 16:25:28
Hello all!
I’ve been in Italy and my line of work has given me the chance to speak to someone who works for TuttoJuve and was told that Liverpool have enquired about Kephren Thurman? (I’m not sure how reliable this site is as I’ve never heard of it before).
I’ve been traveling a lot recently with work and haven’t had the chance to get any info from the misses and her clientele.
17 Jun 2026 16:58:03
Uma's brother is playing football these days?
17 Jun 2026 17:30:04
How dare you assume their gender! Una has transitioned! I read all about it in The National Enquirer.
17 Jun 2026 18:07:32
I posted re Khephren and Kone links on the 6th, either would be an upgrade on Macca or Curtis?
17 Jun 2026 18:44:59
Not sure how true, but seen Arsenal have agreed terms with Kone.
17 Jun 2026 10:09:56
Been told Arsenal are close to getting Bouaddi possibly to replace Odegarrd who is of interest to Ath Madrid.
17 Jun 2026 10:49:26
4 CBs, 3 DMs and 2 wingbacks. We need to come up with a new name, as haram ball won't cut it anymore about Arteta.
17 Jun 2026 11:27:00
Real must have left the race.
17 Jun 2026 11:31:17
Ok, Dan-Ish,
How about Eddie Waring's "Up and Under"?
Apologies to all those under 60, who probably have never heard of him.
17 Jun 2026 11:57:00
False. Been told from Carol in LFC Kitchen that big order for couscous and tagine have been placed.
17 Jun 2026 12:04:15
I love me some Couscous and Tagine, myself.
17 Jun 2026 12:15:52
Not long back from Morocco, and given how crap their airport and staff are, if he were to sign, he wouldn't arrive till next season.
Impossible to get out of that place!
17 Jun 2026 13:40:15
In the last 4 days you've been 'told' Liverpool are favourites, Arsenal are favourites and Real Madrid are entering the race.
17 Jun 2026 13:45:39
Big squad, great depth, competing for everything, that's what you want!!!
17 Jun 2026 13:43:53
Raceylfc do you just dream stuff up and then think it's real.
You contradict yourself more than Clinton Morrison and if I did not see your post myself I would not believe anyone could.
17 Jun 2026 13:50:43
I know you claim to be getting info from an agent @Racey, but I remember that earlier you used to copy/paste WilsonCoxLFC twitter updates here. I find it hard to pick out the correct bits from all the things you share here.
17 Jun 2026 14:11:42
Just back from Agadir in Morocco. Great holiday, tiny airport. Flight left on time.
17 Jun 2026 14:37:46
Agadir... Did you push pineapple, shake the tree...
17 Jun 2026 14:51:19
@ Cookie Monster, ... what are you trying to get at?? Things change all the time regarding transfers, all I know is the kid wants to join PSG but they have to shift some big name players in midfield first which they are reluctant to do.
17 Jun 2026 15:08:51
Be crazy to join PSG. Some job trying to get a game there in midfield.
17 Jun 2026 15:17:14
Last thing I saw, he was leaning towards us as he saw more a route to first team football.
18 Jun 2026 01:38:47
Hi again all.
Basically been reliably informed by a source close to the situation that raceylfc is a massive fraud. Not going to reveal my source but LFC kitchen staff very vocal on this.
Ta
16 Jun 2026 22:35:29
Real Madrid have apparently entered chase for Bouaddi.
16 Jun 2026 22:44:31
To sit on the bench for 4 years?
16 Jun 2026 22:45:02
Nope. He won't go there. It's either Arsenal or us.
16 Jun 2026 23:59:30
PSG or us, I think.
17 Jun 2026 03:25:36
LFC or Arsenal because he wants to go to England.
17 Jun 2026 05:29:35
It's going to be us. He's a huge fan of Billy J Kramer and the Dakotas.
17 Jun 2026 05:51:12
How long do Rm have to wait until Bouaddi is on a free?
17 Jun 2026 10:02:05
In Morocco, they've named a vast riverbed after him. I've just booked to visit the Bouaddi Wadi. I'll sit with the missus under the moon of love.
17 Jun 2026 10:29:32
RobbyRoll wins the internet.
17 Jun 2026 12:17:40
Real Madrid will be speaking to him over the next move aka in four years time, mate, leave *insert club here* for free and join us for a nice sign on fee.
17 Jun 2026 14:11:45
They aren't even similar type of players, so this makes 0 sense.
Ken.
