03 Nov 2017 17:25:09
hi ed can i ask a question has coutinho got a genuine injury? we all know about his so called back injury at the start of the season yet he played for Brazil alls klopp said today was he's unavailable cheers.

{Ed001's Note - I don't know that it really matters, he won't be playing this weekend and that is the important thing.}

1.) 03 Nov 2017 18:13:05
Hhmmm sounds like its another one of those then ed. he has to go asap mate surely to god we can't have a guy in the squad who doesn't want ti be there and is no doubt causing friction in the squad. He has to go in January?

2.) 03 Nov 2017 19:10:03
We need to tell Barcelona our price and tell them to only contact the club when they are willing to meet it. With Coutinho hardly hitting form and looking like he's going through the motions these over occurring injuries could be playing right into Barca's hands where they will most likely try and underbid. Let's hope we do not get our pants pulled down over this deal.

{Ed001's Note - just get rid. Should have got rid in the summer it has caused nothing but disruption to our season to hold on to him.}

3.) 03 Nov 2017 19:42:32
I thought he had done ok ed with the goals he has cone up with mate. Probably not then if I look at how often he has lost the ball or shot over the bar from 30yards. We should just drop him mate not fake injuries?

{Ed001's Note - I think he has been awful personally. Not just that he is giving the ball away constantly, it is the way it happens, he is playing for himself, not for the team. Just sell asap.}

4.) 03 Nov 2017 21:42:58
personally I wouldn't let coutinho or can wear a Liverpool shirt again they clearly don't want to be here so give the shirt to someone who wants to play for the club and get rid of both of them in January.

5.) 04 Nov 2017 02:28:29
Coutinho's become a liability now. Get rid in January and sign a quality replacement coz his influence on the team's performances has been non existent and we will be 100 million pounds better off to spend on better defenders. If he goes in January itself, sign a decent CB and a direct replacement for Coutinho.

6.) 04 Nov 2017 03:57:55
Agree completely about coutinho going. My freling is that when he is on the field the chemistry takes a nosedive. This season at least. not in it to win it so tata.

7.) 04 Nov 2017 11:24:29
Ideal world, sell couts to Barcelona for 130M then give it all to united for de gea.

8.) 04 Nov 2017 14:47:23
Red Steve, I think that’s pretty unfair on Can, mate.

9.) 05 Nov 2017 02:28:30
So let him have a cry and let diddums get his own way,

He is a disgrace and should be with the U23s unless required by Klopp,

I would leave him in u23s all this year and most of next,
Or until a suitable replacement was found,
But on the club's terms, not his,

10.) 05 Nov 2017 07:03:32
So every time he gets a niggle and misses a game we are all going to jump straight on the forum to slate him?

Grow up!
Any thought that it might be genuine!

11.) 05 Nov 2017 15:40:50
I don't think coutinho has been that bad as been made out, and I love the statements " we'll be 100m better off, " or just get a replacement", cause that's so easy to do, esp with our abs shambolic record in the transfer market after losing big players,

12.) 05 Nov 2017 22:35:21
Some prime time wind lick going on here.

23 Oct 2017 23:04:07
I've come to the conclusion that klopps biggest problem is himself and his stubboness and at times his arrogance he said a few weeks ago he's a good defencsive coach weres the proof--he said befor the spurs game no matter the result were still title challengers im not one to give up but 2 wins in 10 games tells you everythink. i really do think he needs a rethink on the way he thinks the team should play because it ain't working results tell you that. you can't play through every team you play against and think your going to get 3 or 4 goals every game that's just arrogance and the goals we concede is just a joke he's had 5 Windows to sort out the keeper and defence. give WARD a run of games pick a back 4 and stick with them mine would be tta-gomez-matip- Robertson or Moreno stop all this swapping and changing also i would drop courtinho back and give solanke a chance he's a different option this is only my opinion.

1.) 24 Oct 2017 00:07:58
I’m still pro Klopp but I have been disappointed with his lack of ruthlessness when it comes to some players who clearly aren’t good enough, loyalty is important but eventually some of these players could cost him his job. I hope that this is the turning point and he finally realizes that things need to change.

2.) 24 Oct 2017 06:52:28
Spot on Smeg, in this game, keeping loyal to players that aren’t good enough will eventually cost you your job.

3.) 26 Oct 2017 07:11:53
Agree but equally slagging players and chopping and changing is also a good way of losing your job. I don't envy him his position.

15 Sep 2017 22:41:51
can't understand why Milner ain't getting a game he just seems to have been dumped. didn't klopp say in the summer it was like signing a new midfielder talking about Milner thought he was one of our best players last season baffles me how Moreno is playing every week and Milner and Robertson are keeping the bench warm.

1.) 15 Sep 2017 22:55:15
So you want to drop an in form Moreno for Milner? That is very strange to me!

2.) 15 Sep 2017 23:22:14
I'm not convinced he's in form. He's still good at bombing forward and still bad at defending. that's just Moreno being Moreno. He's no different.

3.) 16 Sep 2017 00:30:55
Milner shouldn't play left back again, have you already forgot about all the cutt backs and slowly the attacks down, Robertson needs game time.

4.) 16 Sep 2017 00:34:40
You honestly thought Milner wouldn't get "dumped" this season? We are overloaded in midfield and out wide so a squad player role was the best he could have hoped for this season. Don't be surprised if he leaves in January due to lack of game time. Jack of all trades but master of none is our James Milner.

{Ed001's Note - I think people forget how bad he was after his initial good start. He offered nothing going forward and was all over the place defensively as teams targeted him. He was an excellent stop gap emergency left back, but that is all.}

5.) 16 Sep 2017 01:50:42
Yes Harry, Milner is still streets ahead of "an in form Moreno"

{Ed001's Note - I disagree, go back and watch his games again, he was caught out of position, just like Moreno, but offered nothing going forward and lacked the pace to get back in. Ok Moreno makes rash tackles, but at least he is getting back to affect the play, Milner was just getting left stranded, even though he was not going forward as far or as much. I like Milner, he has a fantastic attitude and was a great emergency left back, but he should only ever play there again in a major injury crisis.}

6.) 16 Sep 2017 01:58:09
I think that's a bit unfair in Moreno. His attacking play has improved no end and whilst defensively he's not solid he is clearly making an effort to curb the rash diving in which has got him in trouble previously. He has has visibly started to learn about staying on his feet and goal side, and he knows that if he let's his current standards slip, Robertson comes straight into his place.

7.) 16 Sep 2017 04:26:12
We have Moreno, Robertson, TAA and Gomez who can play much better than Milner at full back. Please stop putting Milner's name into the hat. He is ok to play in cup games and for seeing out games, that's it.

8.) 16 Sep 2017 04:57:24
Too many people on this page play favourites, Moreno has been better than usual of late and Bette ThTs. Milner last year (no offence to Milner he did an admirable job! ) but lovren/ insert keeper here/ Moreno get the blame (sometimes rightly so) yet others have bad games and have excuses made, 'hendo', matip, even firmino at times get a free pass! Firmino isn't a striker but does well I creating space for mane and salah, so now mane is absent should we omit roberto for an out and out striker? Shall we kick out an averge Henderson? No because the fans like them?

9.) 16 Sep 2017 08:07:23
Hendo has been average at best this season but was quality last season and we really missed him when not playing. I think he has earnt a little grace.
Firmino is a great player and although not a natural striker he fits perfectly into our system especially now we have Salah, he gives 100% every game and doesn't get flack because he doesn't deserve it.
I agree with you regarding Matip, but I think the reasoning is that people tend to think it's Lovren bringing out the worst in him, to be fair it could be the other way round as Lovren has looked worse since being paired with Matip, as another poster said he seemed to be forming a decent partnership with Sakho.

10.) 16 Sep 2017 08:23:44
I don't really rate Moreno but he has been a little better, his link up play is starting to come through and did well for our first goal on Wednesday.

Maybe Andy Robertson will get a chance today against Burnley. Tricky game today chaps, Id like to Couthino start, him and Salah seemed to have an understanding in pre season so it'll be interesting to see how they link up today, should they both start.

11.) 16 Sep 2017 09:54:38
Robertson anyone?

12.) 16 Sep 2017 10:13:22
Agree, really want to see Robertson play more - mom on debut in a position we don't know who our best is. Milner agreed to play there for the season but it was known he doesn't want to play defence. Assume that's why he's not featured there. Love Moreno as shows he wants to Play for us when I watch him I'm always hoping he'll be good but again he's not got goal side and not stopped an important goal and also against hoffenheimn 2nd leg the goal from his side he could have easily defended if he was simply aware of who was around him - winning games is more important and he does not seem able to change that aspect of his game, so frustrating.

13.) 16 Sep 2017 10:43:20
I know Robbie hit the post with the penalty, but in match changing situations like that, it would have been great to have Milner on the pitch to step up,

Just a thought Ed.
Do you think Milner could play the holding midfield role?
He seems to have dicipline to avoid being pulled forward on attacks, and reads the game well,

{Ed001's Note - no, not for me.}

14.) 17 Sep 2017 06:06:52
On hindsight, what position did he play. and can we say he did an Ok Job. personally i prefer he plays even our next game ahead of our Captain.

15.) 17 Sep 2017 07:28:04
Milner offers more defensively and offensively than Moreno.

{Ed001's Note - no he does not, I really do not know what people were watching last season but he offered nothing.}

04 Aug 2017 23:55:34
hi ed do you think will move for the ox? after hearing the news on lallana. cheers.

{Ed025's Note - it seems possible to me steve..

1.) 05 Aug 2017 00:29:30
I hope not. Waste of money, terrible player.

2.) 05 Aug 2017 00:30:09
If Coutinho does go we should definitely sign Lanzini from West Ham - we have been linked to him in the past - very similar to Coutinho great dribbling at pace, good freekicks and can only get better at Liverpool where there's more quality.

3.) 05 Aug 2017 01:09:59
Lanzini? What are you smoking? That's like selling a Ferrari and buying a Yugo Zastava and expecting the same performance.

4.) 05 Aug 2017 02:11:56
I think lanzini would be a decent signing.

5.) 05 Aug 2017 03:40:54
Klopp won't sign a player just for 3 months though.

6.) 05 Aug 2017 08:27:39
Loads of cover. He is out for Aug and Sept. Can't just keep buying players Every time someone gets injured.

Was the same on her when make went to afcon.

7.) 05 Aug 2017 10:36:00
And what's the Ox going to do, keep them company in the treatment room?

8.) 05 Aug 2017 14:23:45
My thoughts exactly bbb
Hope couts stays but wish him well if he leaves agree we need a class striker who is not injury prone however attacking mid field is our strongest position in strength and depth i know mingnolet had a decent 2nd half of the season but he is still a worry to me but we support who ever wears the badge.

9.) 05 Aug 2017 21:46:22
There is no one out there that can replace Couts' influence on the pitch. Nobody. Not Gylfi, Lanzini, Meyer, Rakitic (an insult really as Ciots is twice the player any of these clowns will ever be, IMO) or whoever. He needs to be kept at all costs at least for one more season.

10.) 06 Aug 2017 11:01:12
Woluwe makes me laugh when people mention Rakitic as a suitable signing. He's not been a decent player for at least two years and is in serious decline.

11.) 06 Aug 2017 18:00:25
I am a massive coutinio fan but I honestly think he is over rated here. He scored 14 goals last season not 44. When he starts scoring the amount of goals that messi and Ronaldo do then you can validate the 130 million pound price tag that reds fans have put on him. He has the potential to be one of the very best players in the world but he isn't quite there yet. Again, he wasn't our best player last term, 30 million pound mane was imo. You can score an over head kick from a cross cut back from the byline and you can score a tap in from a keepers dropped save, they are still counted the same. My point is, coutinio is great to watch, amazing style of play but a goal is a goal and last season bournmouths king scored more goals than Phil did.

12.) 06 Aug 2017 22:31:10
Just read report of a 120 million offer. That will be hard to turn down. Hope we do though. Reports that it took just 45 minutes to turn down last offer worries me even though it is supposed to have the opposite effect. 45 minutes means there was some sort of discussion. "No, sorry" takes seconds. I like Phil though, and I don't think he wants to leave us in trouble. As much as I don't like to admit it, I think he is going to leave sooner or later. I think he will give us enough time to sort out replacements and generally get ready for life without him.

06 Dec 2017 23:16:25
just been watching highlights of the match on itv and watching roy Keane who had a gob on him like a wet echo talking about Liverpool he was saying we havnt played anyone yet and there's bigger tests to come dosnt that go for all the British teams there won't be many teams who fancy playing us over 2 legs as for Keane what did he say a couple of weeks ago wouldn't watch Liverpool if they were playing in his backyard watching us today and commenting on it must have killed him 😁. well done to the lads tonight looking forward to Sunday now.

{Ed0333's Note - To be fair mate we’ve only won a group that we were expected to win. So he has a bit of a point.

1.) 06 Dec 2017 23:41:20
I agree too be great we have too do great things, in terms of beating quality sides but it's great progress to qualify an money good for qualifying hope we can really kick on an get better we have so much potential especially if we strengthen defence.

{Ed0333's Note - As Ed’s 001 keeps telling me the whole world is looking for central defenders that can defend and their not easy to find. I’m still hopeful we can magic a Hyppia, Henchoz or a Carragher from somewhere in January.

2.) 06 Dec 2017 23:44:25
Yeah but we broke two records winning it eds0333, tonite is a happy night we should partaaah.

{Ed0333's Note - I’m wayyyyy to old to party I’ll just have a celebaratory slice of water melon and leave the grooving to the youth like you mate.

3.) 07 Dec 2017 00:07:36
If your older than me eds fair enough but I'm on the back 9 myself and I'm getting close to Ron's level of optimism for this team.

{Ed0333's Note - Alas im not a spring chicken I still remember grooving to Shakin Stevens and shwaddywaddy. Did I just admit to that?

4.) 07 Dec 2017 00:12:53
I know why can't we unearth a gem of a defender, we did well with Gomez surely there is quality out there.

{Ed0333's Note - if City can’t find a good up with all their cash what does that say about the availability of quality defenders mate.

5.) 07 Dec 2017 03:34:44
him saying we haven't played anyone yet is stupid though. we have played the teams who qualified for the tournament, and battered most of them. There are only one real madrid, munich and Juventus. They can't be in every group. I agree, although we are far fronm favourites to win it, no one will fancy us atm.

6.) 07 Dec 2017 06:48:48
Too right Superred, there are no easy games in the champions league - unless you're in a group with the mighty Basel, CSKA Moscow and Benfica.

7.) 07 Dec 2017 09:19:16
It doesn't matter who is in your group. Winning two games with 7 goals scored is a genuine show of strength.

25 Nov 2017 16:03:13
Chelsea u23s v l. pool u23s
1 3
h. wilson.
b. woodburn
h. wilson.

good win for the lads 👍.

1.) 25 Nov 2017 16:19:48
Wilson again .

2.) 25 Nov 2017 16:59:46
Could Wilson become our Kane? Lol nobody expected Kane to be this good from what I’ve read.

3.) 25 Nov 2017 17:25:50
Why isn't he anywhere near our first team yet?

4.) 25 Nov 2017 19:25:14
That is a Dear Jurgen question.

5.) 25 Nov 2017 20:00:37
Because he’s still 3ft nothing and not strong enough to play against adults if he doesn’t have a growth spurt he’ll go the same way as rossiter.

6.) 25 Nov 2017 20:22:55
I think Michael Owen was 17 and a bit of a pip squeek when he scored on his debut against Wimbledon think Harry Wilson is 20 and banging in goals left right and centre for the u23s.

7.) 25 Nov 2017 21:38:11
That was 20 yrs ago, redsteve. Football has changed massively even since the 13/ 14 season when we almost won the PL.

8.) 25 Nov 2017 23:34:46
I agree with you BRover football has changed but unless some of these players are given a chance we'll never know what there like I'd like to see solanke given some game time see how he gets on can't be any worse than sturridge is at the moment.

9.) 26 Nov 2017 05:47:55
Jezza Kyle, what a stupid comment. Read up on the average height and weight of players in the top teams in Europe. They are all smaller than average. I don’t get this obsession with the fact that you have to be big and strong to be a footballer. I think that’s what’s held back England for years. It’s the Tony Pullis train of thought. Dinosaurs

Red Sandman.

22 Nov 2017 22:49:10
I honestly think if klopp had brought Milner and can on at half time we would of won the game instead of him thinking we'll just go out and get another 3 goals in the second half his use of subs baffles me sometimes. he said after the game we stopped playing football in my opinion seville made a tactical change at half time and we got over run and he only changed it when it went 3.2 i think he's slow to react only my opinion.

1.) 22 Nov 2017 23:26:18
Why on earth would Klopp make that sort of change at half time? 3-0 up and things looking good. What if he had made that change and they still got back into the game? Would we see banners at Anfield calling for KLOPP OUT?
We just love to lay blame here. Sevilla picked up their act and played good footy. Our midfield couldn't cope and the usual set piece defending issues came to the fore. Have we conceded from set pieces with Can and Milner on the pitch in the past? definitely have.
I know many would have been happy with a point but are gutted at the manner in which we were overrun, and I understand that. But let's get a grip. We're still on a decent run, a good performance against Chelski and suddenly the "fans" on here will be on cloud 9 again.

2.) 22 Nov 2017 23:40:51
Name me one manager who has made 2 substitutions at half time when their team were winning 3-0?

3.) 22 Nov 2017 23:52:38
Captain Hindsight to the rescue.

4.) 22 Nov 2017 23:54:35
maybe he should have are you allowed to play two keepers at once? like sub mignolet on for firmino and he can just play in goal next to karius without using his hands? crazy idea I know.

5.) 23 Nov 2017 00:18:14
100% right smeg - who in their right mind changes things at half time when 3-0 up and plays someone at left back that hasn’t played there all season?

Everyone is so quick to blame individuals and look for excuses, it’s the whole teams fault for not coming out at 100% and then panicking a bit. Hopefully we learn and move on.

6.) 23 Nov 2017 03:03:25
Yeah that screams hindsight for me. Don’t get me wrong he’s deserved criticism for his poor game management in the past but this wasn’t his fault. Far too often we suffer from individual errors but I do think as a whole the defensive issues are down to Klopp. After the first goal id agree, changes were needed as Sevilla had complete momentum at this point and it was obvious we were going to be on the ropes for the rest of the game but they scored quite quickly after. Its a shocker but it’s one of those ones where you just can’t blame the manager, we executed the game plan perfectly with a bit of luck then certain players messed it up. A draw would have been an acceptable result before the game but what transpired made it feel like a defeat. Last 16 is as far as we’re getting if Sevilla are that hard to beat for us.

7.) 23 Nov 2017 05:01:49
Actually this 3rd time we play Sevilla. And the main tormentors same guy- Banega. He wears no.10 but plays both no.10 and no.6 . Often collecting ball from back 4 to spread passes to forwards and instigate attack. Why din Klopp and co figure that out? Henderson cannot cope with him nor any of mobile sevilla midfielders who like to play quick 1 touch passing. To stop that we need dig in grind out result, even bit of gamesmanship. No. we didn't.

{Ed001's Note - we managed to stop him in the first half when he was abysmal. They chaged formation to move him away from Henderson and that was when he took control of the game. I know that doesn't fit in with your constant, pathetic and frankly boringly repetitive whines, but it is true.}

8.) 23 Nov 2017 06:34:21
Why would Klopp make changes at half time. Everything was going according to plan till then. And it was the players that went into hiding so it was not Klopp's fault. I have my reservations about Klopp but the capitulation was on the players who forgot their balls back on Merseyside.

9.) 23 Nov 2017 07:47:31
Ed01, shouldn’t a Klopp then have made a tactical change to again cancel him out of the game. And then another if that didn’t work, and another and another if needed. My fear is when we are getting dominated Klopp doesn’t have any idea how to stem it, City, Spurs now Sevilla, where was he tactical genius to stem the flood.

{Ed001's Note - he did make changes, Can was brought on to play in the area around Banega to try and close him down but Can did not do the job well.}

10.) 23 Nov 2017 14:37:04
Did you say we manage to stop Banega in 1st half ed001? We did not. They fashion at least 2 clear cut chances 1 vs 1 with GK. 1st half could have ended 2-3 had they scored. It was Banega who asking the question in 1st half then 1nd half they step it up and then took their chances.

{Ed001's Note - sorry but you are talking crap, Banega was awful in the first half, as he himself said. You might want to learn to stop whining and try watching the games without your anti-anyone who plays for Liverpool blinkers on in future.}

21 Nov 2017 16:54:04
good win for Liverpool u19s against Seville u19s 4.0 rhian Brewster on the scoresheet again hope the first team get the same kind of result.

18 Nov 2017 20:51:00
a mention for Liverpool u23s had a good 4.0 win against Everton u23s tonight rhian Brewster was amongst the scores well done lads.

1.) 18 Nov 2017 21:45:14
Eds25 you ok.

{Ed025's Note - yeah fine thanks ace, got a lot of stuff on the moment mate but i will be back to tell you lot the truth very shortly..but thanks for asking..

2.) 19 Nov 2017 06:48:52

personally I wouldn't let coutinho or can wear a Liverpool shirt again they clearly don't want to be here so give the shirt to someone who wants to play for the club and get rid of both of them in January.

I hold my hands up ed i worded that wrong meant to say the lack of oppertunities he had at Chelsea maybe he had a point to prove saying that he's not getting many oppertunities her neither looks a good player too.

{Ed002's Note - He was a child who demanded £50k a week from Chelsea. He wasn't ready for the first team on a regular basis.}

happy to be a red.
your spot on. and klopps use of subs really does baffle me sometimes and if he was going to leave firminio and mane on the bench why on earth didn't he give solanke a game he would of been fired up playing against Chelsea the way they treated him because in my opinion sturridge just ain't got it any more.

{Ed002's Note - How do you think Chelsea trated Solanke then?}
