Hi ed. Any truth in the aguero link? Best player we been links with this summer. Some people doubt whether liverpool are title challengers. Aguero has played against us. He knows we are. Sturridge aguero front line seems perfect but in the middle of front three I think he'd smash it too.

{Ed001's Note - no.}

1.) 31 Jul 2017 10:49:55
Costa would be a better option.

2.) 31 Jul 2017 14:06:51
Jesus, aguero is unpopular? Why?

3.) 31 Jul 2017 14:18:45
Cos he's not joining Liverpool. Pretty simple.

4.) 31 Jul 2017 14:37:28
Liken the purchase of Aguero with the fact it would be the equivalent of giving a woman needing a knee transplant a set of DDs instead . looks great up top but not quite what's needed.

5.) 31 Jul 2017 15:06:31
Lol, fair play jcw! I think someone to knock in all the chances we create would be great. Personally I'd rather have a fully fit sturridge but is that just wishful thinking?

6.) 31 Jul 2017 15:42:01
I would love Aguero to join. But that isn't going to happen.

7.) 31 Jul 2017 15:57:09
It got dislikes because it's very unlikely to happen and goes against what the eds are saying we will look to do with any business we have remaining.

I'm sure we'd all love to have Aguero in our team, every club would, it's just not happening though.

8.) 31 Jul 2017 22:18:54
I agree superred, id love to see aguerooooooooo (say that in the style of Martin Tyler lol) in an LFC shirt but id prefer to plug the leaky back line first prior to adding to an already very well equipped attacking force.

9.) 01 Aug 2017 04:21:52
If PC leaves and we get a windfall which I don't want to happen, would we consider trying for Aubameyang or even Bale? Pulisic or Dembele have potential but unproven. PL rivals will not sell their top players to us, so we will be limited to European options. A left field thought, what about Sanchez? He did'nt want to come the first time but we will be cashed up and in the CL, would Arsenal except 40m and 1.00.

30 Jul 2017 20:07:06
Hi eds, reading that the ox could be off to Stoke. (For some reason that seems like a good fit) have we ceased any interest in him now? If so do you know why? Would rather we made sure to keep Can than splash out for the ox. Would like to have both, I think he would bring something different to the party. Speed and strength.

{Ed002's Note - I have never understood the interest - he is HG which I guess helps. Stoke are in a good place financially and can buy players like that. If Chelsea were keen it would be to convert to a wing back.}

1.) 30 Jul 2017 20:29:30
Unless they strengthen, I'd be worried for Stoke. Arnotovic was part of half of their goals and they let him go. Not easy to replace.

2.) 30 Jul 2017 20:31:08
I've never understood the interest in Ox either, baffling.

3.) 30 Jul 2017 20:54:11
And the other half EP, Johnny Walters.

4.) 30 Jul 2017 22:01:31
Always assumed Ox would be wing back if he came.

5.) 31 Jul 2017 06:17:28
Versatile home grown and a very decent player on his day. I think he would add depth to our squad and provide cover to several positions where his pace and power would be a real asset.

No brainer for me!

{Ed001's Note - yep, I agree, you would need to have no brain to think he was worth buying when he is only 'decent'. You buy players to better what you have, not to fill a slot on the bench so you don't have to give youth players a chance.}

6.) 31 Jul 2017 16:36:30
Ox is a poor player and would not make our bench, Beddoe. We have better players in our reserves than him and does not make us better in any way, not even in squad depth. Typical Arsenal player which is why they are getting nowhere fast under AW.

27 Jul 2017 01:09:06
Hi eds. Looks although the field is open if want to sign Dalbert (or so papers say) any chance of us going for him now we've signed Robertson. I've been a Robertson supporter during build up to his signing but also feel Dalbert would be a better target.

{Ed002's Note - Inter is the club they have been in discussions with.}

25 Jul 2017 20:38:49
Ho ed. Do you know anything about the talks jurgen had with coutinio? And have Barcelona really had talks with coutinio?
Sorry for all the questions, is Can going to go?

{Ed002's Note - (a) No. (b) There have been a number of discussions with his agent and Neymar has been talking to the, () Maybe.}

1.) 25 Jul 2017 20:52:09
Don't see Neymar talking as news.

2.) 25 Jul 2017 21:17:31
Id sell coutinio for 50 million. id keep coutinho though.

3.) 25 Jul 2017 20:46:29
Sorry if this is a stupid question ed002, but could that be seen as Barcelona tapping up coutihno.

{Ed002's Note - No, it is Coutinho who has orchestrated this.}

4.) 25 Jul 2017 21:06:15
Cheers ed. Worrying times for the reds. Say they do leave ( think can is going to go ) do you expect klopp to look at players other than kieta and van dyke
Am I the only one ( and juventus ) who can see Can's potential? He is strong, he has a good football mind. He can pass the ball, win the ball. Stop our midfield getting bullied. And score screamers from outside the box and dynamic over head goal to secure our fourth place finish. The guy has got it all. We should do the right thing and offer him a big old contract. He deserves it. He listens ho instructions well too. Can play the part asked of him.
I know you get asked all the time ed but I haven't seen anything about possible signings. Do you know of any players we are interested in? Cheers la.

{Ed002's Note - It is what it is - players are transient - if the go others will likely arrive or youngsters will be given a shot.}

5.) 25 Jul 2017 21:19:05
Genuine question Ed, not a trying to get out of what we've done wrong moment.

Would the club have to go r permission for Barcelona to talk to the agent?

Seems pretty non-sensical that they could be scoping out packages for the player etc.

Almost a fait accompli by the time club gets involved.

{Ed002's Note - There is a word or two missing, byt Barcelona are talking with Liverpool. If they want to talk with the player, then they need the pwermission of the club.}

6.) 26 Jul 2017 08:01:21
Wobsworth why bother mate?
Who cares about spelling and spell check changes.

7.) 26 Jul 2017 03:32:42
We used to give our youngsters mote chances eh. Thanks ed. Owen fowler mcmanaman the list goes on.

Cheers for the reply.

8.) 26 Jul 2017 10:26:40
Super, that was 20 years ago. Football has changed a lot since then.

9.) 26 Jul 2017 13:40:23
Thanks ed002.

I've just read that dom solanke and Joe gomez have been nominated for the European "Golden boy" award! It's a 25 man short list. Fantastic achievement for the lad's.

1.) 19 Sep 2017 13:24:46
That's very impressive.
Congrats to both!

2.) 19 Sep 2017 14:02:41
And Ed025 thinks Valencia is better than Gomez πŸ˜‰ damn these peaky bluenoses and their MOTD fever.

Joking aside, i reckon we have 2 future starters there. Add in Woodburn and Arnold and it makes for some exciting times ahead.

3.) 19 Sep 2017 14:18:21
Yeah looks good mk. Robertson and keita are pretty fresh too.

4.) 19 Sep 2017 14:54:29
And Lovren, Klavan and Mignolet too. oh wait wrong thread haha!
This is the positive one πŸ˜‚.

5.) 19 Sep 2017 15:57:52
Surprised at Joe Gomez making that list. I'm delighted but surprised. Wouldn't of thought he has played enough. Solanke makes sense due to what he did at the U20 for England.

6.) 19 Sep 2017 17:14:28
Congrats to our boys and another feather in the cap for LFC.

16 Sep 2017 23:47:15
Fabianski has been great for Swansea ghe last two years, I think he would be great for us. Has he ever played for a big club? I'm thinking arsenal? I think he's earned a shot at ucl again.

1.) 17 Sep 2017 00:48:37
Great shot stopper in a team where he gets constantly bombarded, but lacks the concentration levels needed to play for a top team where you may have to wait until the 80th minute to make your first save or just be alert 2 or 3 times a game.

He was also so dodgy on crosses that the Arsenal fans rather unlovingly nicknamed him Flappyhandski πŸ™„

Having said all that though, with our defence so inconsistent, our goal at times can be peppered by shots so maybe he'd be a good fit with his great shot stopping πŸ˜‚

In all seriousness though, it is the Mignolet effect. Keepers always look good at lesser clubs because they have to make more saves. Mignolet looked great on the highlight reels for Sunderland for that exact reason, but look how that turned out!

If we are going to sign a keeper from another Premier League Club, realistically I'd have to pick either Butland or Begovic. They have the aptitude to be top team goal keepers. I like De Gea, Lloris, Courtois and Pickford but with who they play for they are impossibilities. Personally i don't know why Ward and Karius aren't getting more chances. Mignolet has proven he isn't good enough so it makes no sense to keep giving him chance after chance.

2.) 17 Sep 2017 01:26:06
He was at Arsenal and made mistakes. Sometimes it's easier to stay error free and look good as a goalie if you're in a 'weaker' team that's under pressure and are consequently involved in the game more, instead of not having any saves to make for 20 minutes at a time and have to be sharp all of a sudden when a shot comes in.

Dunno if it's that's the case for Fabianski or if he's genuinely improved.

3.) 17 Sep 2017 03:02:06
He is a good shot stopper, that's it. So is Migs. Swansea is the perfect fit for Fabianski while Migs should be at West Brom or Stoke. LFC should either be grooming Karius and Ward for the long term future or looking at the likes of Oblak if Klopp does not have patience to wait for Karius/ Ward to come good.

4.) 17 Sep 2017 07:17:54
Fraser Forster?

{Ed001's Note - god no, even the Saints fans do not rate him. He is a terrible keeper.}

5.) 17 Sep 2017 07:32:01
What would I take on a good Sunday morning? A coffee or MK's post? Obviously the later one! Flappianski lol! ROFL MK πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

6.) 17 Sep 2017 08:15:25
Pickford looked good at Sunderland too as he was always bombarded and making saves for fun. He's already had 3 goals conceded against him due to his own errors. Like MK said, it's the Migs effect. Fabianski has made mistakes as well at Swansea BUT he keeps playing cos well, they think he's the best they have got. Migs is NOT the best we have as we have two other goalies who are more talented than he is in the areas where Klopp wants his GK's to excel so why we keep playing him when he is crap overall, only Klopp can tell you that as he has messed up this GK thing completely.

7.) 17 Sep 2017 09:01:40
Fraser Forster? Dude we may as well bring Dudek and David James out of retirement!

16 Sep 2017 17:23:37
Sorry eds didn't mean to send that. Can I start again please.

Before people start calling for klopp's head I have to remind people that both spurs and Chelsea have had poor results against Burnley AT HOME. Their fans are still firmly behind their managers.
We have lost one match against the pl camps imo and they are turning everyone over and there is no shame losing to city.

The question is, if klopp left who would replace him? If you have a genuine target fair enough but if you think we will start winning games just coz we sack a manager then you are wrong. We will truly be a headless chicken. Klopp is a fantastic, proven manager and we are still not in a crisis. We still have only one loss. We played fairly well and should have won. In fact we were only inches away from doing so. That is players missing their chances NOT the manager making the wrong tactical decision. If you want to knock the players after a poor result like today then that is fine, they should have won. The managers tactics worked well enough to create chances and held Burnley at bay for most of the game. I thought we played well at times today. People are now saying we have no chance of a top four finish but would those people say spurs or chelsea have no chance of ucl qualification? Coz they both lost or drew at home to Burnley.

There is a long way to go. I think our summer recruitment was good. Our bench looked very very strong today. Not perfect but I'm sure we will pick up.

1.) 16 Sep 2017 17:36:21
Who's calling for Klopps head?

2.) 16 Sep 2017 17:37:10
super its not about sacking Kloop. its about coming to a conclusion as club owner, directors and as fan that Kloop is not the one to win us the prem. and for Kloop to realise that his system has major flaws and the only way for him to keep his job and get Lfc back on track is accepting his mistakes going back to the drawing board and find a system which works for the players he has on diaposal. if he gets his defence and midfield sorted we will be ok. i personally see him doing the same mistakes as Rodgers just not as bad yet. begening of this season i wanted to see improvment in the team which i haven't seen so far.
i will repeat myself i don't see Kloop as the man to win us prem or Cl, yes maybe Fa cup or league cup. we as a great club should have a long term plan which i feel should be getting in a very very good DOF, better scouts ( so that we don't have to buy players from southhamton and then thier scouts to find the next gem) and give Kloop atleast till end of season.

3.) 16 Sep 2017 17:40:57
Spurs and Chelsea have a btr defence then ours.

4.) 16 Sep 2017 17:43:44
Nothing wrong with the system today. Just that our defenders made mistakes again. Silly thing is these defenders could play somewhere else and look like world beaters. It seems to be a nervousness that's ingrained in the team at the moment.

5.) 16 Sep 2017 17:43:47
We drew Watford and by your logic City should also drew Watford. Infact they banged in half a dozen goals without conceding one having a ceappy defense according to Mr bingo after spending Β£150 mill!

6.) 16 Sep 2017 17:55:53
Good post crazy horse. I don't think klopp should be judged until the end of season. If we have gone backwards then fair enough I guess, although I think he will get it right in the end.

The natural, I was on live chat during the game and it was worrying how many people were slagging klopp.
It made me laugh, Can pulled a shot and the first reaction from some was "bloody klopp"

7.) 16 Sep 2017 18:13:04
It's not a case of everybody or anybody wanting klopp sacked it's the fact that we continue to make the same mistakes, fall at the same hurdle, every single time. It doesn't look like changing any time soon unless something different happens on the training pitch. The formation never changes regardless of who the opposition is, we try time and time again to just barrage these teams that like to sit back and soak up pressure and it rarely works, the defence is still a shambles but to be fair to them they're changed every game so nobody gets a chance to settle. The keeper swapping needs to stops mignolet is the worst keeper we have stick with ward/ karius regardless of if they make a mistake. We put a lot of pressure on our team more than most would and although an unpopular view I'm sorry but we don't have a god given right to be challenging for titles we've been in the fight twice in god knows how long. I'm not saying don't aim high and don't have high hopes but when miracles can't be pulled off every season it doesn't help to get on the teams back. I'm as bad as others for being negative but that's more due to the lack of learning opposed to lack of ability.

16 Sep 2017 17:08:39
I hope you post this as I just wanted to say something before the usual rabble start calling for klopp's head.

Both spurs and Chelsea have had poor results against Burnley and the fans remain firmly behind their managers. Watford got hammered by future pl camps imo.

1.) 16 Sep 2017 17:15:34
Chelsea went down to 10 men.

Not good enough today.

2.) 16 Sep 2017 17:16:38
I just never want to see Klavan EVER start a league game ever again,

3.) 16 Sep 2017 17:17:56
It's not the poor result that bothers. It's the nature of it. All that possession, all that pressure and we couldn't find a way through. We had two clear cut chances, one for Salah's goal and one for Solanke near the end. And yet again, we have a lapse at the back that let's the opposition in for an easy goal with their first chance. Same thing happened in mid-week. We must have the worst goals conceded to shots against ratio in any professional league in Europe.

And it's being going on for years with no sign of abating.

Do I think that perhaps Klopp could've done more to address this? Yes. Does that mean I want him sacked? No. It doesn't. But some frustration is understandable, just so long as people don't go ott and start looking to fly banners over Anfield over it.

4.) 16 Sep 2017 17:18:29
Those results they've had against Spuds and Chelsea aren't an excuse for us to draw at home to them? Comparing results is pointless, you should focus on how we haven't beaten Burnley at home with nearly 30 shots to our name and only 1 goal!

5.) 16 Sep 2017 17:22:55
Rubbish! Both the teams sit above us and looking nailed on to top 4. Who do you think we will replace from UTD, City, Chelse and Spurs?

6.) 16 Sep 2017 17:23:02
We were excellent today just one of those days.

7.) 16 Sep 2017 17:41:03
mighty we still had a draw at home, brother let's all of us take off our red tinted glasses starting with me.

8.) 16 Sep 2017 23:06:04
Crazy, while red tinted does not help nor does blind negativity. We need to improve defensively without question and clearly there are personnel issues but we dominated the game and had more than enough chances to win it. You ask for a balanced view but don't do it yourself. I am not happy with the results of late but it is not all negative. Danny, Phil and Robbo will all be better for games under their belt as well.

06 Sep 2017 06:22:02
AOC coming to liverpool can only be a good thing for england. It will mean a predominantly liverpool midfield. Hendo, lallana and AOC. Looking forward to seeing lallana and AOC together. Think they will be devastating. Anyone who doubts AOC ability must be blind. He is a brilliant player and I honestly think klopp will tugn him into one of the best players in the league. A proper technical player with blistering pace and great counter attacking ability.

1.) 06 Sep 2017 06:47:55
I have watched him for more than 5 years at Arsenal
And I highly doubt his ability. I am wrong but what are his abilities other than PACE! Do you know any? please list it. Lol a Technical player! If he was one he would be playing in the center midfield at Arsenal!

He is the same AOX who got dog abuse from the same Liverpool fans an year ago! Things changes so quickly don't they?

2.) 06 Sep 2017 06:50:31
I Expect Eric Dier to retain his place in the midfield and it would one of Wilshere or Henderson partnering him.

3.) 06 Sep 2017 07:02:54
You say you've been watching Arsenal for 5 years yet then say jack wheelchair will compete with hendo for and England place? Strange one that.

4.) 06 Sep 2017 07:16:14
Oh well, Beware mate. What if klop buys Wilshere next summer? He could quickly become the next Alonso for liverpool fans! It's so simple! People change their opinions when players trade their clubs. Lol!

And regarding England. There are no half decent CM in the country that could actually play consistently! Dier is a good holding mid so I expect him to start ahead of Hendo in that role and who else we do we have who is a typical ball playing CM! Name one?

{Ed001's Note - of course they change their opinions, that is because your views change over time, unlike yours, which change immediately.....

Anyway, the point is you judge a player, once they have signed, on how they perform for you, not on how they performed in the past. The only thing that matters is how Ox does in a Liverpool shirt, just like any other player at the club.}

5.) 06 Sep 2017 07:29:50
Dier allows Hendo to get forward a lot more and he is an ok holding mid. Nowhere near as good as Hendo but he is capable. So I am pleased to have Eric in the midfield coz Hendo was part of all England's good football the other night.

I think AOC will surprise everyone and very quickly become a fans favourite. League football is a lot different from international footy. We dill see Alex playing free flowing football. Say what you want about wenger but he was/ is an amazing manager, so is klopp and conte and they all really wanted AOC. Offering ridiculous wages. The lad took the offer that offered the least money and this is the contract that will define his career. I already really like him for that. Guarantee that he scores more for liverpool than he did for arsenal.

We know arsenal have played some of the sweetest football ever over the years and AOC was a part of fat. In my opinion he is far better suited to klopps heavy metal style of football than wenger silent orchestra. Hendo is on the opponent very quickly, not giving them time to think. Often winning the ball and setting off the wingers. I can see the ox getting stuck in like Hendo and lallana do and quickly closing the opposition down and using his strength to win the ball.

Gerrard knows what he is talking about and he thinks AOC is a "very very good signing" that's good enough for me.

{Ed001's Note - I think Dier is better in the holding role personally, he is much better than you give him credit for. Very well coached in Portugal, to be a much better player than people seem to realise.

As for Gerrard, he thought Joe Cole was a great signing and could be our 'Messi'. He even reckoned Cole was trickier than Messi ffs. His eye for a player must be in question!}

6.) 06 Sep 2017 07:40:49
Dier ahead of Hendo? Did you watch him vs Slovakia? Hendo was the only one taking the game forward.

{Ed001's Note - different types of players, Hendo is better at driving forward, Dier is better in the holding role. Dier has a better understanding of defending and when to drop in and become a centre back and when to move out wide and cover the fullbacks. If it was just a central midfielder, there is no competition, Henderson is a better central midfielder, but he is still learning the holding role and it does hinder one of his main assets, those driving forward runs.}

7.) 06 Sep 2017 08:04:49
I'll accept that ed. People often debate Hendo on here and a lot of his game isn't seen on the camera. I guess dier is a bit like that too with his role for england. Don't gdt me wrong, I do like dier, Got a bit of steel about him and he will only get better.

I do think the ox will be good for us. If he does get z midfield role imagine how quickly Hendo znd Alex will close down opposition. When lallana is back, teams won't get two seconds on the ball in midfield.

{Ed001's Note - sorry mate, I should have been clearer in my original post, I was only talking about the holding role. It is a very specialised role and few players do it as well as Dier, if any.}

8.) 06 Sep 2017 08:05:20
My take on ox, I think klopp has brought him in for his speed a bit like salah/ manè but from the centre for the specific task of transition after winning the ball back to driving at the oppositions defence for which I think he'll be ideal.

9.) 06 Sep 2017 08:10:36
I rate Dier but i think he is being wasted in midfield. He is the best centre back of this generation of English footballers.

{Ed001's Note - I am not sure I agree, if he does move back, playing in midfield will have improved his play on the ball immensely.}

10.) 06 Sep 2017 08:18:37
Thank heavens Ed01 finally spoke! Dier is the best holding in the league! Henderson is never a holding mid. His best attributes lies elsewhere.

Regarding opinion Ed01. It's simple when liverpool sign a player He quickly become a Pele's or Johan Cryuff's and I just warned people of a posssible scenario in the future.
You can't rule out klop going on for Jack wilshere!

You could only frame an opinion on what you saw / see. And I have seen nothing so far in AOX which excites me!

{Ed001's Note - give it a rest Harry, Klopp has no interest in Wheelchair. No one has said Ox is Pele just because he has signed for Liverpool, except you. You are doing your usual of getting carried away over nothing.}

11.) 06 Sep 2017 08:24:42
Fair point Ed. Good for his development when you look at it that way!

12.) 06 Sep 2017 08:26:58
Harry, why can't you just give the lad a clean slate and judge him in a Liverpool shirt.
5 years at Arsenal played out of position.

Wenger's football is like a symphony, Klopp plays heavy metal football. Can you see a heavy metal guitarist thriving in an orchestra?

13.) 06 Sep 2017 08:30:03
Yeah that's what I thought you meant mate. Like I said earlier, I'm more than happy for dier to play the holding role as I think Hendo thrives a little higher up the pitch. But henfo plays the holding role well for liverpool when given the job too.

Would you swap Hendo for dier ed? I don't think I would but I have to admit I don't watch spurs play that often, except motd. Just interested in your opinion.

Thanks for clearing that up for me ed. Are you excited / dissapointed about AOC?

{Ed001's Note - I would rather keep Hendo and have Dier as well, to allow Hendo more freedom.}

14.) 06 Sep 2017 08:46:55
Would be a sweet signing ed. Yeah I totally agree dude. Hendo is great further up the park.

15.) 06 Sep 2017 08:57:22

Then this discussion should happen after 5 years. We discuss about players at present. I can't predict what will happen tomorrow or against Man city! I would be happy if AOX proves me wrong in the future. But if you ask an opinion of a player I can only say what I have seen all these times!

16.) 06 Sep 2017 09:33:38
Is this the same Wilshere that nearly signed for Birmingham? Behave yourself Harry. As for Dier, he's a centre back playing in midfield he should be better defensively than Hendo and he has another defensive midfielder sitting beside him for Spurs which makes life a lot easier for him. For me he does a job in there but is nowhere near a Matic for example he just doesn't have enough quality on the ball. Hendo is a better footballer IMO and he's getting better and better at being a leader of the team which is an attribute that shouldn't be underestimated.

17.) 06 Sep 2017 09:47:49
Underestimating Hendo? How about playing out of his comfort zone? He should play where he is good at. A solid ball winner and a good one! Play there and you get the best out from him! Henderson's best attributes is his ability to press and win the ball back! Playing him deeper takes that completely out! It's like playing playing Salah as a CAM!

18.) 06 Sep 2017 10:14:38
Fine Harry, you have an opinion, but your opinion is only of how well he plays in Wenger's team.
Let's give him a chance to succeed in Klopps system before writing him off. 🀝.

Harry, I am no fan of Ox BUT since he signed, i have put my negativity away and decided to support the boy as he really wanted to come here and help us. is that too much to ask or will you keep slating the boy just to prove a pathetic point that no one else cares about but yourself?

Also, you sure post a lot of "stuff" on this forum and you have once again, posted a whopper. Comparing a crap, overrated and lazy Wilshere to England and LFC capt. who is 3 times the player Wilshere wishes he was, is just laughable and completely comical. We get it, you dislike Hendo and wishes he was gone so Can can be kept BUT he is a very good player and continues to get better with every game.

Did I also mention that he was LFC and England capt.? Clearly, those who made him capt, are mugs and should be sacked cos you don't like him, right? Let it go, man. It's becoming tedious reading your tired posts slating Hendo and comparing him to players who are way inferior to him or to players who do not even play his position.

Harry, you were saying the same of Salah when we signed him that he wasn't a technical player and was all about pace.

I wouldn't be surprised if liverpool pulled a strange one out of the hat this evening in terms of a cb. Not getting vvd but we will in the end. January or next year. Unless he goes to arsenal or chelsea which wouldn't totally surprise me. I think 4 cbs, with one being quite young and another not proving that great, we are a little thin there. An injury and a suspension and we are in trouble. I reckon we'll grab someone on a year loan perhaps or someone old but good ish. To fill the numbers.

We've signed some very good players this year and I've thought all summer that keeping pipco could be our biggest success. It looks like it's happening. Let's forget about any possible disruption to the squad and remember how good the lad is and feel pleased he will be on our team this season.

Some people have a funny definition of disaster! Jeez, the team we have have qualified for ucl and got 2nd in league (dunno if we're still there) we have kept clean sheets this season and defended well except for watford game. If we keep coutinio then we really don't need lemar. We have bought really well this summer. Our team is geared up to attack and that is where we have reinforced. Vvd would be great and until it's over (tw) it's not over. We will be fine Without him but stronger with. If I had to choose between vvd or coutinio I would choose pc and if we're not going to break for Barcelona then why should Southampton break for us.

But sahko wouldn't be picked anyway. It's 26mil or we have a player (whose wages we are paying) who is not going to get a game no matter what. I keep saying it "7 clean sheets in last 9 premiership matches" that is not a team that can't defend. We will be fine as we are, and stronger with vvd. Sahko is irrelevant. That said I think he is a decent cb.

That's cool ed. I used to be on a very dark road in my twenties. I'm 36 now and have turned my life around. Uni etc. Charles Dickens saved my life.! and of course liverpool football club.

{Ed001's Note - Charles Dickens? Interesting choice, I never minded Dickens books but it is not what I would consider life saving. Book I really enjoyed (and the film too) is Fahrenheit 451 but I can't remember who wrote if for the life of me. I used to read 4 or 5 books at a time, when the weather was too crap to play footie I would read anything and everything, depending on what was to hand.}

Ed I'm such a technophobe, on reddit (listening to radio at the same time) I couldn't get it going, by the time I worked it out there was five minutes left!

Have BT sport to watch Leicester game tonight and I know how to get redit going now for next game.

{Ed001's Note - one of the reasons I chose to move here was that I could get to watch more games than ever. There is every league just about in the world covered on TV here. There is usually ten different matches on at any moment on the various sports channels.}

{Ed001's Note - shame it doesn't happen every year....}

Migs has been pretty poor this season, but to be fair to him, he is a good shot stopper. I don't think he is championship level, I think there are a few teams that would snap him up in the premiership. I don't think he is good enough for liverpool though if we want to challenge for the league. There is no leadership at the back, if the CBS aren't going to take charge then we need the keeper to. Migs doesn't do that, end of. I feel a lot more confident when karius is in goal, especially at set pieces. With migs I get light headed! Ward is a confident lad, I think he could take charge.
