Ok, here's the United perspective from me. I may be wrong but hey, it's my view.

We looked completely knackered today, you were the better team and if it was a boxing match theen you were clear winners. However, looking at other results it has been a strange old day all round so maybe the international break had something to do with it.

As for today, I thought we did ok in the first half. We took the sting out of the game and pressed high, this wasn't parking the bus. However, in the second half we were pretty shocking, the worst I have seen us play all year. We had no legs in central midfield and nobody on the bench to come help. But a point at Anfield is ultimately ok, particularly when Arsenal and Chelsea both lost.

Your issue isn't today's game, it is the one we had last year, playing well against "lesser" teams but not putting them away. If you don't fix that then the season will be a struggle.

City are on a different planet right now and it will take something special to stop them. But I don't see anybody else to fear. I think City will win it with United second, probably Spurs third and fourth is a cat fight.

Well played today, you deserv d more than a point but hey, that's how it goes.

Good comment that AJH.

2.) 14 Oct 2017 20:24:26
Jose bottled it pal! He knows we are weak at the back but he still bottled it de gea was the difference other then that it was 93 mins of Liverpool! I've gained some confidence today! As for Utd they're 1st real test and u where muck I expected goals and a game today I got neither!

3.) 14 Oct 2017 20:24:49
Couldn't agree more with your post mate, and I do believe the biggest problem today with results was down to the internationals, everybody's lethargic, they need to get back into the swing of things again.

I enjoyed the game, usually I wouldn't say that with there been no goals, gutted we didn't finish off the chances we had though, I can't quiet grasp why we're not finishing as we should but I do think the tables will turn and we'll start to do so. Question is, when? This concerns me a little.

I know Man City have had some fantastic results and all, but personally I just can't see them keeping it up, maybe I'm wrong and they'll fly to the title but to me, I don't think they will, I think many teams this season will be close to getting that title, You fellas, Chelsea, City, Spurs, who knows dare I say, if we start scoring maybe even us ;)

The season is still very early, thing's change, teams get in good form, then maybe have a bad period, this is football. Look at Everton, I wouldn't expect how they've started and I'd of thought they will pick things up again, surely? not that I'm moaning, they can keep down there for me (sorry ed25 :) ) But they won't.

For the record though, overall I am happy with the point because in the back of my mind although I was predicting a draw all week, I was scared stiff you'd go and beat us so a draw does me just fine. A win was deserved in my opinion but nevermind, we'll save that for when we come to OT ;)

4.) 14 Oct 2017 21:40:23
United won't be 2nd that will be spurs united will drop out of the top four again, they stated great last season, fell out, they're no stronger than last season bar the addition of matic and a better PR team.

5.) 14 Oct 2017 22:09:43
Mou seems to be uninterested in playing against us and Klopp at Anfield. I simply do not know why. They were the form team and were HEAVY fav's to win today and they come out there and simply just refuse to play, almost. Well, if that is what he wants to do then so be it. He should simply not be surprised when people think he's scared of Klopp or accuse him of playing stoneage footie after spending near 300m since last season on players.

6.) 14 Oct 2017 22:19:50
JBLP, haha wishful thinking.

7.) 14 Oct 2017 22:46:02
Jblp, poor banter.

8.) 14 Oct 2017 23:18:03
Bigored it's not only against us or klopp, I'm just shocked to see you know very little about mou especially with your knowledge of footy.

This is how mou plays against top teams, He has been playing like this since he started his managerial career and has served him really well bringing him lots of trophies and success.

9.) 14 Oct 2017 23:21:15
What 'banter' was there? United started very well last season, where did they finish? Spurs have a better team, have been tested while united stumbled over their first challenge, no 'banter' what so ever just a informative opinion but don't worry lads I'll tell you United will win the treble if it makes you feel better, won't happen like but tell stop you's moaning.

10.) 15 Oct 2017 04:41:34
JBLP, Utd will finish top4 comfortably. If u look at that logic, we too stumbled mid way through the season while Jose won 2 trophies. Whatever the discussion, majority will agree that Utd have a better and more balanced team than we do and will comfortably finish above us.

11.) 15 Oct 2017 06:48:01
β€œ. Mourinho scared of Klopp πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. ”
Someone needs to Star those lines and pin at the top of this page!

12.) 15 Oct 2017 08:11:34
Kopite7, I do not disagree with that. He is free to play how he wants to play just as I am free to critique it and make fun of it. That is all I'm saying.

Harry, YES Mou is scared of Klopp cos Klopp owns him and has embarrassed him in the CL with BVB and Klopp smashed him at Chelsea and helped get him sacked. Klopp also owns him in the head to head battles and is yet to beat Klopp in the PL. Maybe cos he is actually scared of him so he parks two buses or relies on the ref to bail him out (like he did last season at OT when the assistant blatantly ignored an offside on Valencia that led to the equalizer) Fact! That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

13.) 15 Oct 2017 13:04:07
Quite honesty nobody bae Manchester City will make the top 4 'comfortably' some good teams are dropping points left right and centre, of the top6 last year united had the easiest start to the season, they have done well so far but their first challenge and they didn't exactly rise to the challenge, they didn't even challenge, kind of just waited for it to be over. Not saying wel make top 4 by any means but the top 6 apart from city winning it, will be close. United were lucky yesterday, the referee was scared to whip the yellow cards out and refused a penalty. Liverpool lack bite but united performance was toothless, Alex ferguson wouldn't ever have approached such a big game in such a feable manner.

Sorry I I'm a bit late. Well played on Thursday, we were poor but you were up for it and should have won by more. I think Klopp will prove to be the best signing you have made in the last 20 years

I think you'll finish us off and Thursday and then hopefully get knocked out 😁.

1.) 12 Mar 2016 10:16:11
Hahaha fair play mate. Actually I can see us getting Klopp's old team. Now that would be fun.

2.) 12 Mar 2016 10:19:23
Wish you lot had put up more of a fight to be honest.
Bit embarrassing that, if it wasn't for de gea your lot would be about 14th in the league.

3.) 12 Mar 2016 10:46:27
Oh how times have changed AJH, for both clubs. How has it come to this, bragging rights for 5th spot? :-/.

4.) 12 Mar 2016 11:45:01
It's only half time and De gea has kept you in the game, it's adv to us but it's all to play for imo.

5.) 12 Mar 2016 12:11:28
Good shout Irish, it is actually very sad for both teams.

Great debate down the age about Neville and Carragher, initially about punditry but then about how good they were as players. The were some great comments made but as A United fan, I'd like to add a couple.

1. Neither were the most technically gifted but both worked incredibly hard to improve and make the most of what they had allowing them to have long and distinguished careers at top clubs.

2. They sum up what we want in our players - 1 club men who gave their all and were completely committed to our clubs.

I remember the pain on Carragher's face when things were going badly, and after fighting back from a lomg term injury, Neville called it a day after being run ragged against West Brom, that must have been a horrible decision.

When Carragher retired I came n her and paid tribute to him, he may have played for Liverpool but that doesn't stopme appreciating hm as a man' a player, or for what he gave to your club. How much would be give to have players like them available for us this weekend? I guess you have Gerrard, and bizarrely, we have Roooney who despite being from your end, never gives less than 100%.

Final point for EMS, Neville may not have been world class but the injury that took the best part of 2 seasons off him and shortened his career probably cost him joining the 100 cap club and captaining he country.

As for punditry, Neville tells it how it is (sometims a little too directly) but as fans we n our heads when he uses terms we would use. Carragher is settling in and I'm sure will do well. I also don't agree that they hate each other. That may have been the case on the pitch but assuming they are BH decent blokes, that will quickly be forgotten.

Have a good Christmas boys although hopefully not too happy this weekend.

1.) 12 Dec 2014 12:15:01
Thank you for giving your opinions on our site. Nice to here views from other clubs supporters who are not trying to cause trouble

2.) You basically said exactly what I said regarding them as players. Not as gifted as others but passionate and do a job. Don't get me wrong, I loved them both as players. Just never considered either to be world class.

I still disagree on the punditry side of things but opinions are always going to differ and I 100% appreciate that you have a differing opinion mate. I never said they hate eachother though, but they just make really good banter that makes good TV. I'm not questioning that they're both great tactical minds. I just think a lot of their analysis is wrong. That's just my opinion and in a lot of people's opinions (clearly) I am wrong. I can accept that though.

Thanks for your post mate, I found it to be a mature and calculated argument.

3.) I rated Neville highly as a player, though I was gutted that Rob Jones was made of glass as I thought he was a better defender and better footballer.

Personally, can't be bothered with the Neville hate thing, let's face, who amongst us wouldn't have celebrated the way he did when they had that last minute winner, if it was any of us playing for Liverpool against the Mancs? I know I would.

4.) I missed the debate yesterday, but I might as well add my bit.

When GN first became a Sky pundit, I couldn't stand him. I used to turn the TV over straight after the match to avoid listening to him, but as time went on and I watched him a few times I quickly realised how good he is at reading the game. He knows what he's talking about and puts it across in a direct way, but that's what I like about him. JC looked a bit out of place at first but he also knows what he's talking about and for me they both do a good job.

So, as a United fan, what do you see happening at the weekend? Did you perhaps over achieve last year or are you under achieving this year? Are United over achieving this year? The rivalry will always be there but it's been a long time since a game has felt so difficult to call. Losing Suarez was a major blow and Sturridge's injury just compounded it. As for us, over 40 injuries so far this year, particularly in defence where we have had something like 25 different combinations so far. So, anΕ· predictions boys?

1.) Can't see us getting anything with this person in charge. I won't be going, think I'll go Christmas shopping with the wife instead and save myself the pain.

2.) Personally I see an easy three points. For you lot.

3.) Pains me to say it but I can't see a win coming from this squad at the moment, even against the old enemy.
My heart says we might get a bit of luck with a penalty, or nick a goal on the break if utd come full on, but my head says they'll be more likely to score than us, and where will our answering goals come from?

4.) I feel that this is a game that's really up for grabs. Rodgers has to stop playing Lambert; he's a talented player but he doesn't give us enough pace or movement up front. If we play Sterling, Lallana, Coutinho and Markovic with no recognised striker, I think it may pay off. However, if your star players are fit then you'll probably score a few and beat us.

5.) Jesus, you know it's bad when blokes would rather go shopping than watch us play. Did Hodgson even do that to any of us?

6.) Utd to win 3-1, simple. Liverpool are there for the taking by any club at the moment. Our teams confidence is at an all time low and i expect Utd to win this game quite easily.

7.) Yeah got to that stage with uncle Woy too.

8.) I can only hope that this is the game we need to have and the players simply refuse to lose.

9.) Unless you lot put a few in the back of your own net for us, I don't really see how anything other than defeat is on the cards, unfortunately. I'm sure we'll show character and just have needed a wee but more luck after the game is over.

10.) Based on last night`s horrendous showing of a clueless manager who succeeds in making things easier for the other team, he might jut help you guys out and pick a useless line up to make it easier for the mancs (not like you needed any help)

I'd like to wish Stevie G the best of luck retiring after not wining the World Cup with England to concentrate on not winning the league with Liverpool. Good luck Stevie

1.) 22 Jul 2014 20:00:04
I concur.

{Ed002's Note - I am surprised at that.}

2.) Will be gutted if stevie doesn't get the premier league winners medal he deserves, I read carras autobiography and its clear he WAS desperate to win it .

3.) Nice of you to post AJH. And I appreciate the sentiment. May I reciprocate by extending my (premature?) congratulations to Wayne Rooney on becoming the first England captain to lead the side from the bench. ;)

4.) Fair point Ben, you won't know but I'm not a Rooney fan and would be happy if we sold him. He's a very unpleasant individual

5.) Because being average and playing 10 games a season to get a winners medal is a far greater achievement than playing all the games and dragging your team into the Champions League single handedly is a lesser achievement.

John O'Shea is therefore a greater player than Steven Gerrard.

Got to love some teams supporters

6.) 22 Jul 2014 23:56:40
I'm glad Stevie has retired from England but not just for the sake of LFC. With Lampard, Gerrard, Ferdinand, Terry and Cole all gone, Hodgson is the last one left to remove before we have a full, exciting generation of players with a few experienced guys mixed in and a hope of actually playing something that looks like entertaining football. We might not win, but at least we're one step close to having some joy and interest back into the national team
