Lots coming out today from both Fekir and his ex agent. Certainly seems that the theory the move fell apart was because Lfc messed Lyon around is afair way off the mark.

Little Naby

1.) 10 Sep 2019 20:10:38
The agent said a foriegn pseudo-Representative as for negotiations to begin from the start at The moment of signing, so I'm guessing this was the reason why.

2.) 10 Sep 2019 21:05:47
Ed2 said at the time that we dicked Lyon about at the 11th hour.

3.) 10 Sep 2019 22:24:57
Well Fekir certainly shows no ill feelings and says our dealings with him were excellent and that we showed that we really wanted him. Straight from the horses mouth, good enough for me.

4.) 11 Sep 2019 07:32:53
What Fekir is saying makes no sense. On one hand he's complaining about the lies about his injury and his family (presumably the "pseudo-representative" is his family), and on the other, he's saying he has no ill feelings towards Liverpool. Something's not right.

5.) 11 Sep 2019 08:58:04
Since when is anything said to the media for public consumption, 100% on the level? I rarely worry too much about content. Rather I always wonder about the timing, and why a story comes out when it does.

6.) 11 Sep 2019 10:55:37
Cant get anymore on the level than the horses mouth.

7.) 11 Sep 2019 10:58:05
As far as I am concerned, of the 3 sources it’s only ed2 who has no dog in that particular fight, so I’m most inclined to believe him. I doubt he wastes his time coming on here to tell lies. As my old history teacher would say, you need to apply the 5 W’s when considering a sources info; who, what, when, where and why.

8.) 11 Sep 2019 11:38:29
And there was me thinking the actual player himself, who was actually in the room and involved in the deal would be a fairly good source of information. How silly of me.

{Ed001's Note - no because he still wants a move to Liverpool, so he has motivation to say good things about the club. You have to know people's angles before you can know how much faith you can have in what they say. His agent certainly can't be trusted and he was sacked because of what he said to the media, but he was also in the room and involved in the deal. So, by your ridiculous standards, he would be a fairly good source of information. Clearly he isn't as, like Fekir, he has a reason to give his version of the facts to present himself in the best light. The very fact Fekir says he doesn't know why the deal fell through tells you he is not exactly the best person to listen to, as he is either completely out of the loop or lying.}

9.) 11 Sep 2019 11:57:47
Surely he knows there's little or no chance of a move to Liverpool now.

{Ed001's Note - who knows what the future holds? If he plays well in Betis anything could happen. It was only the price that was the issue last time.}

10.) 11 Sep 2019 12:28:54
If it was the price stopping us looking at him again we'd have moved for him this summer when he went to Spain for €20M.

11.) 11 Sep 2019 15:15:23
Little Naby. how is it so hard for you to grasp? The price was a sticking point in the 2018 transfer window. A year later clearly our transfer targets will have changed, especially after a season in which we were one point from winning the Prem and then winning the CL.

Also you do realise prices are massively inflated to prem teams, especially the top 6?. Just because Betis paid that, doesn't mean the fee would be anywhere near the same if it were us buying the player.

12.) 11 Sep 2019 15:31:40
What am i not grasping? everything you've just said i already realised but thanks for telling me what i already knew. its all irrelevant anyway, he'll never play for us but at least the failed transfer can't be all blamed on the club now.

13.) 11 Sep 2019 18:33:44
Smallsy, if we offered 1 million more than betis, he would have come to us. Simple.

They wouldn't go "Oh betis are paying £20 mil so you have to pay 40, or we will sell to betis".

14.) 11 Sep 2019 18:46:07
“If it was the price stopping us looking at him again we'd have moved for him this summer when he went to Spain for €20M”

The 20m is irrelevant. To us it would more likely to have been 35m. That’s if Lyon even entertained the idea of doing business with us after pulling out last time round. Should we need an AM next season and he has an outstanding season with Betis. what’s to say we wouldn’t declare interest again? It’s only really age that’s against him, but he’s only 25/ 26 I think.

You’re basically saying “I think I’ll believe Fekir as it’s straight from the horses mouth”. His words probably hold as much water as Harry Kane saying “I’ve never dived in my life”. Players and managers rarely give the full picture when speaking to the press/ public.

15.) 11 Sep 2019 19:52:50
Ok Smallsy, Fekir will be our "marquee"signing next summer. And i'll score the winner for us in the FA Cup final.

16.) 11 Sep 2019 19:56:27
Exactly Ed001. And as I said in my earlier reply. Why is this story coming out now when he has just joined a new club and yet the matter of discussion is over a year old? Clearly he sees Betis as a temporary stop on the way to greener pastures, and he's freshening up his "path" a little bit in the public's eye to be able to take the next step. And you're very right about the sweet words for LFC. Nobody else in their right mind would look so kindly on a club that changed it's mind at the last minute, and then which results on his value plummeting to one third of what it was earlier. It's just standard good PR, what he is doing. And certainly not 100% on the level.

17.) 18 Sep 2019 21:49:57
Smallsy1984, I legit thought you were going to say "his words probably hold as much water as Harry Kane's mouth" 🙈😅.

Clarkson in the middle for the 19s looks a very tidy little player, can see why Klopp likes him.

Little Naby

1.) 02 Oct 2019 22:17:38
From what I have seen of him he does look a very tidy player as you say. We look to have 2 or 3 very good youngsters.

2.) 03 Oct 2019 12:14:58
Curtis Jones looks to be on fire. Not sure if he’s a winger or more of an attacking midfielder but he has excellent feet and a solid shot with both left and right.

3.) 03 Oct 2019 12:43:36
Think attacking midfielder is his preferred and best position.

4.) 03 Oct 2019 22:04:52
I couldn't recal his name SG but yes Curtis Jones looks a player to me, as does Harvey Elliot. I watched Wilson, Kent, Woodburn etc and these 2 look a step up. Fingers crossed.

Some strike from Ojo tonight, just needs to stay fit now as he seems to have finally found somewhere he's comfortable at.

Little Naby

1.) 19 Sep 2019 22:51:34
Great finish, and I really hope the lad does well. I've spoken to a couple of rangers fans who aren't really impressed with him yet as they felt he has a tendency to go missing, hopefully once he's had a large stretch of games he can push on and improve.

I remember Ed002 saying a few years ago that he was seen as a player with huge potential, hopefully he can begin to realise that potential under a well-matched manager if you ask me - Gerrard will know all about his potential.

11 Sep 2019 19:56:23
Well done to Glatzel on his new contract. Him and Duncan had a great partnership last season and hopefully he returns from injury in the same kind of form.

Little Naby

1.) 11 Sep 2019 21:00:35
Question for Ed001, if I may. Trust you are well. Based on my reading of various other odds and bits elsewhere, I have gotten impression that Glatzel was seen and regarded as being "better" than Duncan. Is my impression correct? Or did we let go of the better player (which we rightly did anyways, due to the events) ?

{Ed001's Note - Glatzel is seen to be the more likely to have a future. Or at least was before he got injured.}

2.) 11 Sep 2019 21:23:54
From what i've seen of them, Glatzel has a more rounded game. They are both very one-footed but Duncan was pretty much a penalty box predator. Whereas Glatzel was able to do more around the rest of the field.

3.) 11 Sep 2019 21:26:17
I didn't realize it was potentially career altering. Was the injury as bad as that of Gomez and the Ox?

4.) 11 Sep 2019 22:04:44
I favoured glatzel too duncan as soon as I seen him looks more physical more graft direct running looks stronger built for premiership, I hope and prey he comes back strong and makes an impact he is one too watch, reminds me of a mixture of torres and werner, a lot of pressure I know but why not big the lad up he deserves it.

03 Sep 2019 22:06:19
Eds are liverpool still trying to sign the Exeter City kid Ben Chrisene?

Little Naby

{Ed002's Note - There is a lot of interest from elsewhere.}

1.) 03 Sep 2019 23:01:04
Not from us then? wasnt he on trial with us before?

{Ed002's Note - There has been interest from Liverpool but the interest from elsewhere is winning out. He is just a kid.}

2.) 04 Sep 2019 14:30:49
I assume it’s chelsea they love an Exeter youth.

16 Aug 2019 20:20:06
Grujic off the mark for the season against Bayern!

Little Naby

1.) 16 Aug 2019 21:01:46
Been watching it, he's having an unbelievable game, controlling the Berlin midfield, setting their tempo. Took his goal well. He looks a step above his Herta teammates so far.

2.) 16 Aug 2019 21:05:58
Saying that my god he gave away such a stupid penalty, hauled down Lewandowski in the area, ball nowhere near either of them.

3.) 16 Aug 2019 21:33:23
Seems to sum him up, has all the talent but not the brightest star in the sky. I still expect him to be part of our midfield five or six next season.

4.) 17 Aug 2019 09:53:45
I expect him to be sold.

£60 odd million net in four years is hardly anything in todays game. We have to be the best club in the world in the transfer market. So glad we won't be accused of buying the league when we win it.

Totally agree Ed025,but you can't win. Lfc fans are forever banging on about how we weren't as much on the ball commercially as Man U the last 20 years, yet when the club are being ruthless and showing business savvy were the worst in the world.

Little Naby

{Ed025's Note - you are no better or worse than the rest of the clubs naby, i just think its time they gave a bit back mate, would it really bankrupt the clubs if they made the replica shirts £20?, the likes of pogba is asking for £600,000 a week and families are having to use food banks...now that cant be right, i will get off my soap box now mate as my champagne is getting warm.. :)
