Any truth in the rumours linking us with Mohamed Bahlouli from Lyon?

Seen the same rumours popping up in a few places in the last couple of weeks.

Just a young lad so I'd assume a player for the Under 23s.

1.) 21 Feb 2018 17:00:17
With a number of players reaching a pivotal age in their careers I believe we will see a drive for young potential to replace those.

2.) 21 Feb 2018 17:01:16
Lad I thought that was ballotelli and crapped myself haha.

3.) 21 Feb 2018 20:43:01
Just thought it would be good to point out that it looks like Mario has finally found a home. He's doing very well over in France by the sounds of it.

23 Nov 2017 13:10:31
Any truth in the rumours that we've enquired about a Jan loan for Draxler?

If so, perhaps as a short term replacement for Coutinho?

{Ed002's Note - As I have explained previously Draxler is seen as an option. However, there are difficulties with the player right now as he is saying he wants to stay and would like a return to Germany if he leaves. PSG would sell in January and would be open to a loan with a commitment to buy - whether they would be open to just a loan is another matter.}

1.) 23 Nov 2017 13:26:19
Cheers for the reply ed. Would be surprised if he did come in but couldn't be a bad signing

2.) 23 Nov 2017 14:35:47
I will be fuming if this happens. Just concentrate on signing some defensive minded players first. Keep adding players like Draxler to the already stacked forward line we have got whilst persisting with the shambles of a defense, and Klopp may well be in charge of the most lopsided and imbalanced LFC squad in history!

3.) 23 Nov 2017 16:14:42
Indian Buzzer, we have Couts leaving mate and we need to replace him. Draxler would be a good move imo. But if he only wants to play in Germany as ed has said then it sounds like a non starter anyway.

4.) 23 Nov 2017 16:42:58
So is it just a loan only we are interested in ed without a commitment to buy? Or not sure at this stage.

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea, I explained what I know.}

5.) 23 Nov 2017 17:13:27
Not what we need at all, i understand he's a good player, but we have kieta coming in and that defense needs sorting. the owners should put a ban on signing attacking talent till that table football defense and that subbuteo goalkeeper gets adressed.

Champions League draw tommorow. So who would we most and least like to face in the next round?

For me it'll be. Roma as the best to face and then Sevilla, Juventus, Madrid, City, Bayern and then Barca.

We're in with the big boys now and although we have great attacking talent, the challenge will be dealing with experienced teams. Teams like Barcelona and Juve have a lot of experience to get through games.

Opinions on who you'd like to face next?

1.) 15 Mar 2018 11:30:36
I don't like thinking we came back into the UCL for an easy ride, give me madrid bayern or Barcelona and let's see how we do against the elite clubs.

2.) 15 Mar 2018 11:32:33
Madrid or Juventus for me. Neither team has impressed me. If Spurs can beat Madrid and run Juve close, so can we.

If we beat Sevilla or Roma everyone will just put us down again and spout nonsense about how we haven't played anyone decent even if they have knocked out Atletico Madrid and Man United. I don't really want to play City because It's an English side and I love European games when they're against teams you rarely play.

Bayern, City and Barcelona are probably the strongest sides left in the competition, but I think we're 4th in line. I'd rather avoid the Etihad, Nou Camp and Allianz though. All 3 of those teams have the ability to hit 5 goals past anybody at home. So do we though I guess. Still, in a one off final, we'd have more of a punchers chance.

3.) 15 Mar 2018 11:36:42
I don't mind who we get to be fair. Every game including Roma will be difficult. If I could choose I'd want Barcelona.

4.) 15 Mar 2018 11:49:04
I would like us to get to the Semi's at least as it boosts our standing in Europe the further we get.

Getting past 2 more teams to the final might be a bit of an ask but realistically we are capable of 1 more win with a bit of luck.

I would like us to get Roma or Sevilla for this reason. Probably Roma as I would like Allison to see how good we can be, with him, Keita and Jorginho coming in next season we could be a real force.

Undoubtedly we will end up with City or Barcelona who I think will be this years finalists if they don't meet eachother beforehand.

5.) 15 Mar 2018 11:56:38
I want to play a big club but not City or Barca. I’m hoping for Juve or Madrid

The one thing that worries me as we get this deep into the CL is Our FBs who may be talented, but both inexperienced and asking them to face the likes of Messi, Ronaldo, Robben etc. is going to be a big ask.

I’d like to see Gomez coming back into contention at this stage of the competion and playing more of the quasi back 3 in possession.

6.) 15 Mar 2018 12:40:47
Fingers crossed for Seville. We owe them big time. Plus its always nice to beat a team that has recently tonked the mancs.

7.) 15 Mar 2018 12:48:57
I don't think Bayern are that hot really. I think they are doing well in their league because the rest of the teams haven't shown up this season. I wouldn't want them as first choice, Sevilla and Roma for me but after that i would happily take Bayern before the rest.

8.) 15 Mar 2018 13:08:49
We can kill barca, their midfield is aweful, plus we play excellent against a team with more possession.
City and Madrid will be the toughest draw IMO.

9.) 15 Mar 2018 13:09:32
For me, I'd rather win the tournement playing 'easy teams' than get knocked out by the best team.

I'm hoping that we can get lucky-ish with the next draw and then once you get to the semis it's kind of anyone's game anyway because every team will be quality. If we can get past the next round then I feel we might actually have a chance of winning the whole thing!

10.) 15 Mar 2018 13:34:39
Look no matter who it is we get its going to be tough i don't know why people are classing potential games against Sevilla and Roma as easy and a potential free pass to the semis? They are in the draw on merit and have beaten good teams to get there. I get that they may be looked as lesser teams to Barcelona and such but come on lads no game at this stage is going to be easy. Whoever we get i hope we turn up try as hard as we can and show them what we are really made off and if it gets us through then fantastic but if it doesn't then its good experience building for future attempts.

11.) 15 Mar 2018 13:55:29
I respect every team left but I don't fear any of them, Liverpool should do the same.

12.) 15 Mar 2018 14:16:17
Any team would be fine but I'd prefer to meet Barcelona in the final. Their 3 guns (Messi, Suarez and Dembele) against ours (Salah, Firmino and Mane) . Would make one hell of a final. Can't stand those finals that are decided on penalties.

13.) 15 Mar 2018 16:20:45
City would be the one to avoid as it is hard to imagine us beating them over 2 legs though I do think, out of all the teams left, we would give them one of the sternest tests. Wouldn't really fancy Bayern either - strong all over the pitch, solid at the back, clinical up front - I know we beat them pre-season but this is a whole other ball game. Madrid, Roma, Sevilla, Juve I would take as I think we can beat all of them. Barcelona are iffy - on the one hand we could do really well but on the other their attack could cause our defence all sorts of woes, undecided on them.

{Ed025's Note - i think city would do nicely seano, i think you have the measure of them mate..

14.) 15 Mar 2018 18:41:09
I don't care who we play. I just want to see Phillipe Coutinho receive a Winners Medal!

15.) 15 Mar 2018 18:42:54
ra1969 - Not even the ones that we win?

16.) 16 Mar 2018 10:48:02
Ninja is on high! Messi will eat us alive! Especially Lovren and Robertson! Like how is their midfied awful? Iniesta is 10 times what David Silva is! And Busquets is a brilliant holding mid!

17.) 17 Mar 2018 11:08:18
Ben - Oh I'll take those wins on penalties, but only if it's for LFC. Idealism and realism combined.

05 Mar 2018 19:18:47
All season I have been hoping that Solanke will score and keeping posting 'this next game will be the one! ' or similar.

Think I'm jinxing the lad so I'd just like to say that I hope Solanke does NOT score tomorrow!

Under no circumstances do I want him on the pitch and I certainly do NOT want him to put in a worldclass performance!

1.) 05 Mar 2018 19:36:32
Brilliant 😂.

2.) 05 Mar 2018 20:20:10
It's only a matter of time. If he had played all the time I have no doubt he would be in double figures. Didn't he score a hatrick last weekend? U23s. The lad is going to be class, fear not and I hope we don't lose faith in him.

3.) 05 Mar 2018 20:41:02
I rate him a lot. He scored plenty in preseason against decent opposition and he's just great!

And by that I mean he is terrible obviously and he'll never be successful with us.

4.) 05 Mar 2018 20:43:06
Im sure that he can see Klopp will give the youth set up a go, so can see that he may have a future with us. He is young and needs time to settle in, get time round the 1st squad and could end up being very good business for Liverpool.

5.) 05 Mar 2018 20:47:15
Can’t we it lads, who is he going to replace?

He’ll be off in the next 2 years.

6.) 05 Mar 2018 21:22:50
I'm with Ron on this one, I just can't see him making his break through. I want him to of course, but I don't think he stands a chance in this Liverpool side, fingers crossed I'm wrong.

7.) 05 Mar 2018 22:03:05
We have been unusually lucky with injuries this season. Lallana and Clyne the only long term ones, Hendo on and off too. We all know lfc cannot compete with city, Chelsea and utd when it comes to money. So we have to be cute. Ie, 8mil for Robertson. Buying dom solanke for 3mil was another cute move, we get a high class player for pennies allowing us to pay 75mil for our new cb.

There has been talk of buying some back up for the front three but who do we buy with real talent who is okay with warming the bench? A youngster, that's who. Dom will get his chances, with a better cup run he would have played more I've no doubt.

{Ed001's Note - it is not luck, it is changes made, new fitness coach from Bayern and the constant rotation to keep players fresh.}

8.) 05 Mar 2018 22:16:10
We didn't look very fresh in the second half v Spurs, they ran all over us. I would say it has a lot to do with us being knocked out in the first rounds of the domestic cups. Also 2 beach breaks in the sun won't hurt.

9.) 05 Mar 2018 22:24:50
Why does buying another forward mean they sir on bench. If you get versatile forward. You can rotate the 4 into 3 position. Effectively giving one a match off in turn. 1 player effectively reduces the workload of the other by 25%.

10.) 05 Mar 2018 22:33:29
The player that will cover the front 3 will play as an attacking midfield when everyone is fit.

11.) 05 Mar 2018 23:38:07
Sorry but Im not convinced by Solanke at all. Hope he proves me wrong but I don’t think he’s good enough and seems to make wrong decisions.

12.) 05 Mar 2018 22:54:43
Yeah agreed ed01, klopp has clearly learned from last years disaster after January. Your point is totally valid and I whole heartedly agree but even so, that can't always account for heavy tackles, fouls etc. We haven't lost any big players bar Hendo due to fouls. I can't remember such an injury free season. So far.

I didn't know that about bayern fitness coach, it has also helped no doubt.

{Ed001's Note - it is the coach that has made the real difference, very few players got injured while he was at Bayern.}

13.) 06 Mar 2018 01:52:10
Yours right George, he was classy in Pre season, real good movement and top class finisher. He was one of 25 youngsters to make the shortlist for the "European golden boy" award, along with Joe gomez. He will make it I'm sure.

14.) 06 Mar 2018 09:15:03
People are too quick to write off youngsters ALL THE TIME, Although Solanke is yet to score he hasn't played all that much, he has shown great work-rate and determination. Those 2 attributes alone will go along way into making him a very good player. He won the best player at the under 21's world cup, it takes time to adjust from youth football to real football but it will come.

I also urge Klopp to use him more, i mean we have had a 3-4 goal lead many times this season when Solanke were not used or was given the last 5 minutes, certainly not enough time to do anything.

Too little time to judge, but some of you guys are apparently the absolute best judges of player potential and at what different rates they will develop their ability so i bow in awe of these amazing scouting talents! Wonderful!

15.) 06 Mar 2018 14:52:40
Agreed nostradamus, although before Vvd a 3 goal lead could be clawed back in 5 minutes. I didn't feel safe until we had a 4 goal cushion.

02 Mar 2018 19:18:21
Anyone else buzzing for the game Tommorow!? And the next week of games!

All fingers and toes crossed that we can get a good result or two or three.

Expect Can to be left out to avoid a yellow card against Newcastle which would mean he misses the United game. Also hope we rest a couple in one of the next games if possible, probably best for the Porto game. People will say its a risk resting against Porto but I'm sure we won't lose by 6 goals!

Good time to be a Liverpool fan.

1.) 02 Mar 2018 20:55:06
I’m not George, had to sell my ticket for tomorrow night! Have to go to a gin and prosseco night at Chester racecourse 😩

Agree mate, good time to be a red 👍.

2.) 02 Mar 2018 21:16:48
I'm sorry for your loss Drogie.

3.) 03 Mar 2018 01:40:47
I'm worried about the next two Premier league games. I could see rafa keeping us out and I can see utd scraping a win in Manchester. I think these two games could define our season. If we fail to win either of them, we could slip out of the top four and with spurs and Chelsea both playing well it could be hard to get back in. I can also see us thrashing Newcastle and getting a win at utd though. Edgy time to be a red. Not worried about porto, if we drop a 5 goal lead we don't deserve to be in the ucl! If we win tomorrow then at least it hives us a bit of space in case we draw at utd.

4.) 03 Mar 2018 08:07:29
Super - what is wrong with you?

It is all going well at the moment, we are on an upward curve. We had 10 days off and then a really good run of fixtures. We have nearly a fully fit squad and some players in top form. This is not the time of the season to be worried. Newcastle have a championship team and we will over run Man Utd.

Come on you Mighty Reds.

5.) 03 Mar 2018 08:24:48
Exactly Mark, that's the attitude to have.

6.) 03 Mar 2018 15:39:51
I love your optimism salah and Mark. I hope to God you're right. Sorry to sound pessimistic.

25 Feb 2018 18:49:00
Interesting names in the Under 23s tonight.

Clyne at RB and surprising to see Joe Gomez is having a game at CB. Bit of warming up for that role in the future perhaps?

Solanke is also playing, he could really do with some goals for a bit of confidence!

1.) 25 Feb 2018 19:07:41
Bit late with the post. Solanke got a hat-trick! Chuffed for him.

2.) 25 Feb 2018 19:32:57
Nice for his confidence. Did you watch the game? if so how did Gomez do in the CB position?

3.) 25 Feb 2018 19:51:29
Planned to watch it but got the kick off time all wrong! Keen to hear if anyone did watch. Hopefully I can track down some highlights.

Bit odd to see Gomez in the Under 23s but nice at the same time that he got some game time at CB.

4.) 25 Feb 2018 21:06:59
I haven't been able to watch them much at all this season sadly. If you remember, I was doing weekly updates on the U23s and giving match reports but time doesn't allow that anymore. Someone said they would take over for me but that hasn't happened unfortunately.

24 Feb 2018 18:51:17
Nice work from the midfield 3 today.

Milner had more touches and made more passes, crosses, tackles, and interceptions than anyone else! Good work Milly.

Found Can was quite slow on the ball sometimes and didn't always play a pass quick enough but was mainly solid in the middle and we could miss his muscles and size when he leaves.

Nice to see Ox involved and charging forward aswel!

Final point, think TAA is still a little weak defensively but he has such a good pass on him and think he'll be great if/ when he does transition into midfield.

Onwards and upwards, not enjoyed watching Liverpool this much for a long time.

To be fair a move to Germany could be very good. He could develop and stay out of the limelight a bit, he'd be watched like a hawk if he broke into our 1st team anytime soon.

What's his contract situation? Is he on a pro contract yet or would he move to Germany on a free (plus compensation ) .

We'd do well to sell him with a buy back clause and maybe get him back in a few years once he's developed a bit more.

Perhaps Ojo has been 'talking up' the club abit?

Dont really know much about the lad but I know he has potential, perhaps he could be a rotation option for a few different positions which could be handy.

He'll have to decide whether he will benefit more from 1st team football at Fulham or rotating at a top prem club.

Would rather those rumours disappeared for a few months.

Need Karius to try and take that No1 spot without thinking he'll be replaced at the end of the season.

Would be great to see to see Grujic play the deeper role next season.

He's still new to it though and if he's not ready for the new season I think he might want to leave in the summer. Midfield is one area that will probably change a lot over the summer and I fear Grujic may be one of the players to drop out, especially if we do buy another player to play deeper.

Fingers crossed he turns into a powerhouse for us though!

So what are the chances of us getting this bloke?

Would Napoli actually sell and would he not cost a pretty penny?

So much talk of Jorginho recently, seems like he's already been signed!
