Ed1, Damien Duff is a player I loved, I remember him playing for Blackburn and then went to Chelsea at a time when I would have loved him to join Liverpool.

Was Liverpool ever interested in him?

Also, if he isn't on your player profile list, can you do one on him when you've got through the rest? Thanks.

RobbosPress

{Ed001's Note - we tried to buy him when he went to Chelsea. I have added him to the list.}

Didn’t we show an interest before he ruined himself at Newcastle?

I saw him in a pub once. Chelsea had just been confirmed champions and he was out with a friend. If I recall correctly, he was injured at the time. I didn't speak to him, he was surrounded by people congratulating him. It sticks in my mind mainly because my GF was telling her dad that she'd seen him - I had to tell her who he was, but she didn't quite remember so she told her dad she'd seen Donald Duck of Chelsea.

Seemed a nice guy, though - had all the time in the World for everyone, even though he looked as if he was just out for a quiet drink.

Duffer was a very good player, just a shame he was injured quite a lot
Played against him a few times as a kid, he stood out then big time
We also happen to share the exact same birth date

That's my lame claim to fame 🙄.

I think it's quite easy to forget just how good he was. He looked like the sky was the limit at Blackburn, so it was no surprise that Chelsea paid such a big fee as soon as they entered the Abramovich era (didn't he sign at the same time Lampard did? ) .

He would have been great for us at that time.

An Irish legend, time for everyone, always free to give some advice he's a gent. He's since gone on to coach the youth teams at Shamrock rovers back in Dublin, hauling the kids in at 6am for training before school (anyone who follows the LOI knows why this is necessary, skills gap etc etc) I think he's been recently offered a similar role at Celtic. Always would have wondered what would have happened if he'd signed for us and stayed injury free.

He was at rivers I think he's now at celtic u21s

Not 100% on that one tho.

Was out for a few drinks today with a mate and we were chatting about fekir and if we would be trying to sign him again whether it be, this window, January or next summer.

I'm wondering if we signed him in January, and he's already played in the champions league with lyon, will he be Cup tied if we make the last 16?

I think 1 of the eds may have said around the time coutinho left, that the rules were changing on that front this season. For all I know, i could have dreamt it.

Thanks.

Stone. Correct me if I'm wrong but, I think Ed 002 has stated that Liverpool won't initially be part of a break away league. It will mean that teams will be leaving the Premier league and other top leagues around Europe, meaning the football league will be reformed.

Haha Ed, if I was on the lash with big Andy then it would have been a bit easier to explain. Don't think any of my teachers believed me when I was unable to sit on the hard seats in class.

RobbosPress

{Ed001's Note - I know that feeling mate, I remember the second time I got the cane and the teacher who did it was a sadist, and he forced me to sit down on a hard seat afterwards. I thought I was going to be in so much trouble when me dad found out, but he was more furious with the school as it was illegal to give the cane. If only I had known I would have told him the first time it happened but I was terrified of me parents finding out as I thought I would get walloped again!}

Good stuff Ed, I really enjoy the sporting villain articles you do.

RobbosPress

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate, glad you like those. Gone with a football one this time for a change.}

Fantastic Ed, you never know danger until it's too late. I had to get stitches on my bum when I was around 13 as well, fell off a stool in the snooker club and landed on broken glass.

RobbosPress

{Ed001's Note - where you out on the lash with Andy Carroll? He fell off a stool in a drunken stupor in Derek Llambias' casino, which is how he picked up the long term injury he had when we stupidly signed him.}
