I am really worried klopp actually thinks lallana is reliable fitness wise the guy can't put 5 games together and this a key position he vacating that we need too strengthen, I really hope the ox's injuries are behind him we will need him .

I am worried about you that you are really worried what Klopp actually thinks.

2.) 06 Jul 2019
06 Jul 2019 17:06:09
First of all. Let’s be honest here. The only thing you’re genuinely worried about is that we haven’t signed a player that you can get the Kleenex out about.

Secondly, you know nothing of any of our players fitness viability vs the medical professionals who work with them day in, day out.

06 Jul 2019 17:17:10
Hailstones, you really think Klopp is oblivious of of all of Lallana's inherent injury woes for the past two season? You're worrying over nothing, man. Klopp is fully aware of everything going on with the players cos after all, that is the manager's job is it not? As for Ox, you are aware that Klopp and his coaching and medical staff work together on issues like this, right? Could down, man cos your constant worrying about things you either don't know much about or can't control, is starting to make me worried, for you, most importantly.

I am really worried that that really worries you.

I am just worried.

This squad took us to 2nd in the league with a huge amount of points, plenty of goals scored and very few conceded. Oh and a champions league final win.

We're not going to suddenly get relegated if we don't buy anyone new!

If anything, I feel like they'll be a real winners atmosphere and sense of confidence in the dressing room now. We don't NEED to buy anyone.

7.) 06 Jul 2019
06 Jul 2019 19:13:03
Hahahaha supposed I asked for it, maybe bit off an exaggeration, I see other teams strengthening, we have just won champions league, I believe we should act like the champions we are an get stronger, by this I mean strengthen in our weak spots not rely on past failiures, I ain't talking go an splurge our cash on 10 new players, I am talking by quality in the areas we are weak e. g genuine creativity in midfield, cover for front 3 also cover for left back, is that too much too ask? 3 players .

8.) 06 Jul 2019
06 Jul 2019 19:14:10
And everyone don't panic, worry no more!

9.) 06 Jul 2019
06 Jul 2019 19:34:09
George, whereas we aren’t going to get relegated, I can’t see that we would be any better next season than the season just past, if we don’t improve the areas we are weak in. Simply put, repeating the same thing over again under the same conditions expecting different results is insanity. We’re good enough for top four, but as last season showed, we’re short of quality to actually be league champions, particularly when teams set up to shut up shop to ‘park the bus’ as happened in the seven draws we had.

10.) 06 Jul 2019
06 Jul 2019 20:01:14
Well that’s total rubbish 6times. Let’s review some of those draws you’re talking about:

1. Chelsea at Stamford Bridge most certainly didn’t park the bus and it’s a good result by all accounts

2. Arsenal at the emirates, didn’t park the bus as they never would

3. Man City at Anfield, you get the just

4. West Ham at London stadium, didn’t park the bus that night, I was there and we simply had an off night.

Already disproving your point aren’t I?

11.) 06 Jul 2019
06 Jul 2019 20:01:45
Hailstones you’re spot on but unfortunately we’re in the minority on here.

12.) 06 Jul 2019
06 Jul 2019 20:25:27
I am not assed wat anyone thinks, all I know is this squad needs additions too get stronger, we weren't good enough in the league by 1 point an truth be known we got some nice slices of luck along the way too, we were excellent though last season we took it too another level, but man city have already strengthened with cover, if we saying we want too win the league then we need quality additions too get better . As I said 3 players could help that sturridge an moreno have left they definitely need replacing and back too original statement I don't trust the fitness of lallana one bit an there is no guarantees the ox will be fit for most of season as he has history of injuries if he can stay fit it would b a blessing .

{Ed001's Note - all teams get luck along the way, we also had plenty of bad luck but you are forgetting that in your completely one-eyed review of the season.}

13.) 06 Jul 2019
06 Jul 2019 20:29:11
Shaq attack I think he's a troll. He has been on here for days trashing our team and every player we're interested in.

You are spot on. The only team who parked the bus against us and got a result out of it were Man Utd at Old Trafford and Bayern Munich at Anfield. Draws against those sides are hardly shameful though! Every other game we failed to win was due to us simply not being at the races. That happens though. City had just as many off days as us. The difference is it hurt them more in Europe and us more in the league.

14.) 06 Jul 2019
06 Jul 2019 20:32:03
People can thumbs down all they like but this is a fact.

Had we of drawn 8 games instead of 7 (the 8th being against city), we would have won the league.

15.) 06 Jul 2019
06 Jul 2019 20:53:15
I agree shaq, the city game was the pivotal one. Get a result from that and city probably think it's tough to catch.
As you say even if all the other results stay the same we would of won the league.

16.) 06 Jul 2019
06 Jul 2019 22:05:18
I’m with you 100% Hailstones.

06 Jul 2019 21:46:56
Ed01 u are wrong mate we exceeded all my expectations an more last season we were amazing an made me stupidly proud, that was because we made the perfect signings when we needed too, and now a season on we are right at the top of the tree achieved so much it's a perfect time too bring in 2 or 3 too strengthen our weak points . Ed are u content if we don't sign another player an start season with this squad we can challenge on all fronts?

{Ed001's Note - yes, of course we can challenge. I would rather we strengthened but there is not a lot that we really need to do, so I am certainly not going to stress on and on like you have been.}

18.) 06 Jul 2019
06 Jul 2019 23:23:30
If we performed exactly the same as last season, and got the same points, I'm almost certain we'd win the league this year. Man city are signing players, but i don't expect them to top 98 points this coming season. Fact is, we dunno what will happen, but a squad that finished with 97 points and won the CL are more than capable of winning the league this season, even without sturridge and moreno.

Nice one ed cheers just thinking out loud.

20.) 07 Jul 2019
07 Jul 2019 00:56:16
Fair enough wanting new players but it’s simply not true that buying players is the only way to improve.
Buying a new player could just as easily disrupt the incredible squad harmony that is one of our strongest and most unique weapons.
The scary thing about our team is we have not even seen them at their best yet!

21.) 07 Jul 2019
07 Jul 2019 01:02:02
I was worried but now im not.

Football isn't just about buying talent, its also about nurturing talent and getting the players you have playing at the very best of their abilities. We were amazing last season. Fully deserved to win the European Cup. Of course we had luck, both good and bad. To imply otherwise would suggest the laws of probability had been suspended.

Its nice to see big players come to liverpool, and we've been pretty spoilt in recent years. We strengthened the weak areas of our team last summer. And i don't think any of the areas have weakened since. Maybe up front, but looks like brewster is getting a shot (we moan when the best youngsters aren't at least given a shot and moan when they make the squad) and lb, but we have milner who is amazingly still fit enough to play the position and gomez who can play across the back 4. There is no need to panic.

Like hailstones alluded to, the league came down to one point. It was fine margins, that on another day could've gone our way. Our team played league winning quality football. i think we'll be even better next season. Without additions.

Bad luck ill giv one example! Naby should have got a penalty against Leicester!

23.) 07 Jul 2019
07 Jul 2019 08:48:11
Yeah but Leicester had better opportunities too win that game an with better quality they would of, it's irrelevant I believe u earn your luck an we did that .

24.) 07 Jul 2019
07 Jul 2019 11:32:06
I’ll give another bit of bad luck. Kompany should’ve been sent off against City!

25.) 07 Jul 2019
07 Jul 2019 13:26:17
God I’m just glad I have better things to worry about than Adam Lallana’s fitness this weekend.

I think some people really do forget about some of the bad luck that hit us last season.
Ox being out the pretty much the entire season, Gomez missing a big chunk through injury after being and absolute rock at the back with VVD, Trent also had a couple of injuries and at 1 point we had no proper right back and didn’t we have to use Fabinho at center back because Lovren Matip and Gomez were all injured at the same time?

Also at times I think our front players (and most of the squad to be honest) looked tired, a few draws we had we didn’t show the intensity we have become so fond of specifically when pressing.

Saw somebody mention the City draw too, the draw didn’t do us in. It was the loss. It probably knocked us down a peg or too, we lost the next game in the FA cup, scraped out a win against Brighton, had a crazy game against Palace conceding 3 goals (but scoring 4 luckily) and then a few more draws followed.

Iirc against City Fabinho didn’t start and we had Lovren on the pitch xD
Also in this game we got unlucky early on, we had Mane smack the post and it somehow didn’t go in from the scramble from city, and wasn’t the ball like 1mm away from crossing the line according to goal line technology?
Even if we got another draw in that game, I think we would have had better results in the game to follow.
