I don't rate him that much. Was a reliability for most Real games last season, and a huge part why they struggled defensively. To be fair, he played on the same side as Trent, but wasn't really convincing. I'd say he is a smaller but faster version of Konate.

I can only speak for myself, but I do not want people like Ascensio anywhere near LFC.

For those that don't know. He and two of his teammates are accused of recording and subsequently distributing, in June 2023, sexually explicit videos of a 16-year-old minor without her consent. The alleged incident occurred in a nightclub in the Canary Islands. [Wiki]

He is due to stand trial in September, as per The Athletic (31 July 2026), who write:

"...The case centres on the filming, allegedly without consent, of a sexual encounter in the private area of a beach club in the Canary Islands in June 2023, as well as the alleged distribution of the video, again without consent.



...Asencio is not accused of having been involved in the incident or the filming of it, but it was alleged that he asked for the videos and showed them to another friend, which would constitute two crimes against privacy, per Article 77 of the Spanish Criminal Code."

It would reflect terribly on Iraola and the club if we were to sign him - and rightly so.

I have little time for pampered, moronic footballers who think their slimy behaviours are above the law. I don't care how talented they are or how much smoke they've had blown up their arses.

He's not on trial for rape. His name came up last summer as well; I did some reading on the incident at the time. A couple of Real players, aged 18-21, had sex with a couple of girls, one was 18, the other was 16, 16 being the age of consent in Spain.

The acts were filmed, and after they found out the videos were shared, the girls claimed they were unaware of the acts being filmed and never consented to it being shared. The girls never accused anyone of rape. Ascensio was not present and hasn't been accused of anything by the girls. He's been prosecuted for sharing the video which was sent to him. The girls actually withdrew Ascensio from their initial complaint. Ascenso did not know the girls, or their ages. Prosecutors are not claiming that he did.

Whilst the age of consent in Spain is 16, and nobody broke any laws by committing sexual acts, you must be 18 to produce/partake in pornography, so in a case involving sexually explicit material of anyone under 18, that person is considered a minor.

From my side of things, talk of Mbaye is just that. It seems his agent is the one that leaked supposed interest to the press. We all know how agents like to use supposed interest of other clubs to get their client the best deal they can from either their current club or potential one.



It could push us to move for him, like Munoz almost signing for Newcastle did. So I'm not going to fully rule it out. I just don't see it happening.

Fatwallet, Diomandes is 20 in a couple of months, and had a phenomenal season in the Bundesliga, bagged 23 G/A as a standout first-choice RW. Mbaye only turned 18 this year, and is essentially 3rd choice at PSG.

He only appeared in 4 of the 16 UCL matches, and had just 5 G/A. Despite the fact that there's less than 2 years between them, they're leagues apart at the moment.

I'd imagine Diomande has more goals because of the full games he plays, as a result of not having Barcola, Doue and Kvaradonna at the same club. To clarify,

It is essentially done. Everything has been agreed in principle, but there are a number of mitigating factors that contribute to why it's being kept pretty quiet. Often in football, deals are agreed a few weeks before medicals are penned, etc. Take the Isak case as a perfect example.

PSG are continuing to push for the Ajax winger, Godts.

There is no benefit to publicly announcing "oh yeah, we just closed a deal for over 100 million euro" before a deal is closed with Ajax at the fee PSG want to buy him for.

Then there's legal matters, paperwork, and other red tape. These things take time.

Unless there's a massive, total unexpected collapse of the deal, Barcola will be in Liverpool red very soon.

What does this mean for Frimpong? I was kind of expecting him to have a good season under Iraola... him and Kerkez would cause [good] chaos on the wings.

Yet Martinez is a good passer of the ball, so he could also offer us depth in the middle. So could certainly offer versatility [but he's not the CB we need unfortunately].
Of course, Girona are linked to Man City, so they might make it hard for us; yet Girona were relegated, so the player will want to make a move.

I'm actually very surprised Man City haven't moved for him; he'd be a good signing for them; experienced and trained by the CFG network. If anything, we'd be stealing him from under their noses!

Of course, I don't know the specifics of the deal, but certainly an interesting one.

I'd actually quite like Kudus. If memory serves, he was heavily linked to us before going to Spurs. At the moment, Tottenham are rebuilding, and I'm not sure if he's in RDZ's plans. With good negotiations, we could get him at a deal.
I really don't understand the Barcola hype. Kudus is Prem-Proven, and a more all-round player than Bradley (in my opinion). I'm not that sure about someone (who isn't even first choice) in Ligue 1 that we'd pay £100M+ for him. It feels very risky; does he have the physicality, for example?
I am absolutely not ITK, so maybe Andoni really wants Barcola, but personally, Kudus would be the smarter signing.

I'm very proud of Liverpool's reputation for clever signings; yet the likes of Diomande and Barcola feel very hype-centred (and pricey). Our frontline is already fairly ludicrous; I don't want to be "another City" just buying a team of Galacticos. Also, that £100M can certainly be better spent; defence, midfield, depth in general.

From what I know from people who are close to LFC, PSG are being stubborn on Barcola move but we can make them change there stance with the Mbaye signing which gives them the funds to add another striker to there frontline.

It's often the banter that sets it apart, and as things move fast in transfers it's easy to be correct on any rumour, until you're not!

Sangria, you're absolutely spot on about the unnecessary hostility on here, that has become a regular feature. But what can you do? It's a free site and the Eds are unpaid in the majority. You can't ask for them to do much more; they already give as much of their time as possible, without much appreciation I must add, given the occasional moron that comes along and starts arguing and spouting immature nonsense.

The only solution, and more of a hope, is to ask posters for some self-policing and restraint. No idea if people here are capable of that.
