'morning Eds.
I've tried searching, but I can only find the posts from last summer window.
Do we still have interest in Iñaki Williams? Or has that ship sailed?

Red7

{Ed002's Note - No and he has twice renewed his contract since there was serious interest (and that was from other sides and not Liverpool).}

22 May 2016 02:55:36
I would like to see us, if we're talking about rejuvenating/ tweaking the midfield, looking towards a player like Lewis Cook. Has anybody - eds included - heard anything about scouting him? (found nothing in search) .

Red7

{Ed001's Note - not by us.}

1.) 22 May 2016 08:26:40
I'll ask Lewis he lives on my road lol.

Eds

I remember hearing something, quite a while back, about us looking at Ryan Colclough.
Was there, or indeed, is there any ongoing interest in the lad?

Thanks.

Red7

{Ed001's Note - we had looked at him at youth levels and continue to keep tabs. It is their keeper Garratt that we have the most interest in right now.}

1.) 23 Jan 2015 08:08:25
I'm from Sandbach next door to Crewe so have plenty of friends who go to the games. As for Garrett I played against a Crewe team in a friendly when I was 16 and he was the appossing goalkeeper and was good then and from what friends tell me with the defence he has in front of him he does very well

It's difficult to accept, but the Liverpool football club that I grew up supporting is officially dead. Many fans are trying to explain it away, but it's just not worth it anymore. So many fans have stood by this club their entire lives, but the day has come that the club no longer stands by its fans, or football fans in general. There have been a few issues popping up over the past few years regarding layoffs during the C.V., ticket prices and what not. If the fans have to threaten boycotts and the like, then it's obvious the club is purely a business now. There is no loyalty or responsibility to supporters or the community anymore, so why should we be loyal to them.

You'll Never Walk Alone? What a load of bull.

These are dark days, but this club is not the owners, it is all of us supporters together with the team, and all of the staff, I would think over the next coming days an appropriate response will start to formulate from what is actually Liverpool fc, until then please stick with it and now as always ynwa.

2.) 19 Apr 2021 06:31:43
It's not only the club you supported since you were young that's gone. It's the game that's also dead. If you want to support "proper" football support the nearest non league/ league 1 or 2 side to you.

3.) 19 Apr 2021 06:50:59
I agree, Mane. Sadly, you're right.

4.) 19 Apr 2021 07:29:32
This certainly hasn't gone down well with the fans, media and pundits.

Will be interesting to see where this goes.

So signing British players from clubs below us is a bad thing. But throwing 50M plus at players from foreign clubs that have had one good season is a good thing?

The club they come from is irrelevant. Half these 'big' foreign clubs would probably be where hull are now if they played in England.

Try to be a LITTLE bit intelligent. Christ.

Why not go the whole hog and get dyer and britton from swansea, george boyd from burnley ans tyler blackett from reading.

Oh a rb aswel what about alan hutton?

2.) 01 Jun 2017 11:22:47
Supermane96

Hahahaha😂😂.

3.) 01 Jun 2017 11:46:14
People need to get it in their heads that there boatloads of money in the game.
Concept of 'market value' completely shattered. It's now no-sense aplenty.

Clubs will spend big money this and many more windows to come.
Liverpool will be no different.
People will be shocked when LFC DOES pay some £50m for one player this window.

A poster on here said that £50m is like yesterday's £25m.
You only have to look at fees commanded by Sissoko, Bolasie, Ibe, Pgba, Wijnaldum (who's been a good signing by the way) .

You look at reported figures offered for Mbappe.
How much would Cristiano Rinaldo, pre-LFC Torres, pre-LFC Suarez have cost in today's terms?
Folk would probably have been against buying Suarez and Torres citing the asking fees.

It's what it is folks.
And your Man Citys not shelling out top dollar for fun. It's about going up that next level. strengthening competitiveness. aiming for that Bayern, Barca, Madrid, Juve level.

And we are like the 4th best team in the EPL. yet folk want us to still go for top 4 players.
Chelsea, City, Spurs. all better than u already. will significantly bolster their ranks to even higher levels. As wil United. who I expect to fully be in the mix for the title next season.

Klopp obviously realizes this. hence wanting to significantly bolster his own ranks. Yet some arw complaining.

It's fine then. Let's go get Demarai Gray, Chamberlain, Robertson and Keane and that's our summer. ready to compete. Total of about £100m spent. We make profit. Bet ya'll be thrilled.

4.) 01 Jun 2017 12:25:12
But its not though lad.

Good scouting has gone down the rubbish pan.

2 years ago for 4 mil one of europes best cms was brought to the premier league.

Teans like city are just insane, thier paying whay they are because of there prwvious insane signings.

50 mil stones and sterling. Jesus.

At th3 same time they could of had mane and matio for about 40 mil. We showed good scouting there.

Tottenham wanyama and united pogba. 90 mil difference. Who had the better srason.

The players are still out there. Otherwise like i said in a previous post dortmund, tottenham, ajax, nice, monaco, atheltico, bilboa, sevilla, leicster, porto, benfica. may aswel all throw in th3 hat. Or is every single one more succesful than us over th3 past 3 seasons

Vvd and keita are not 50 mil pound players.

5.) 01 Jun 2017 13:23:08
For Demarai Gray, Chamberlain, Robertson and Keane, read Cheyrou, Diouf, Diao.

Fact is that we have a weak spine to the team. We are weak at centre back, weak in centre midfield and we have no reliable 20 goals a season striker. Not even mentioning our full back issues. We are over stocked in the number 10 type players and aside from Mane, we lack serious pace. Signing the likes of Gray, Chamberlain and Keane is preparing to fail by signing players who simply aren't good enough at the highest level.

6.) 03 Jun 2017 20:28:37
Exactly shanks.

But is vvd the 50 million pound answer to our problems. he's probably the cause of most of the goals southampton concede.

We also already have a ball playing cb in matio, we now need a hard as feck cb next to him. A carragher if you will.

Gibson is the one for me. Exactly the opposite of matip which us what we need.

Jaysus!
Is the culture of this club going toxic?
Is the culture of all big clubs going toxic?
This lack of effort, and lack of heart, backed up by a group of lads that simply don't give a flying wotsit, is killing me.
Why is it such a rarity to find an honest bloody footballer these days?

Hook the gutless players we have out there, replace them with the kids and come 17th, i don't care. At least we'll see some bloody ticker.

Red7

1.) 28 Feb 2017 07:45:21
You mean like against tottenham?

Talking theough your arse mate.

The press isn't just about working hard its about triggers and a system.

The way lcfc played yesterday made it very hard to have an organised press because they where moving all over the park. Very hectic game.

We also played the chanpions who are on a bad run, who would of shot off into space if they had been anymore fired up. They broke there sprint record for the past 3 years against us. Basically they have never run more for 3 years.

Move on. Another 13 to go. You honestly don't think we will lose again between now and the end of the season?

2.) 28 Feb 2017 08:49:51
We didn't just loose supermane96 we got torn new ones. I'm not even mad, I'm just numb. If I'm honest I half expected to loose last night as a team always gets a lift in the game or two after a manager goes and once again it's no surprise to loose to a team we should (according to ourselves) be beating, the same way as I expect us to play well against and probably beat arsenal on Saturday.

3.) 28 Feb 2017 13:27:27
Lol we played the champions who sacked their best manager a night ago? Have this page anymore lgimate excuses to defend what was the worst performance of the decade?
Did we not beat the same champions 4-1 at Anfield? No wonder the club has not progrssed over the years. We as fans live in mid table mediocrity!

4.) 28 Feb 2017 14:45:06
Supermane,

"The way LCFC played yesterday made it hard to have an organised press"

Have another plan. Have a plan B. Tactics have to change during games to counteract the opppnent. Klopp is doing the same as Rodgers in that it's one way and one way only. To play a high line with a slow back line against Vardy was asking for trouble.

Enjoying this. Well. With the exception of skrtel. I'm afraid he's done. Cooked. Spent. Looks atrocious out there.
But all in all its been a good game. Actually feels how English football used to feel.

Red7

1.) 17 Oct 2015 13:39:19
Michael Owens comment was pricless on skrtel, "he's made a couple of rare mistakes today".
Is Owen Brendan Rodgers love child by any chance #clueless.

Irankunda has plenty of talent. Scored some screamers already for a kid, but he's very raw. There seem to be plenty of clubs sniffing around, most prominent of which is Bayern, but they understand he's a long term prospect. I hope someone picks him up though. Kid's got it.

At last, a good old fashioned rumour. Cheers!

Mac Allister would be a good signing, too. But there have been comments about Harvey and Curtis not being good enough. I wonder how many of us knew of Mac Allister's level of talent when he was 20 years old. I've been a big doubter of Curtis Jones, but he's coming along pretty well now. Harvey is a pup. I'm prepared to give him time.

Really? No chance. He was so good for that one season that people even ignored how dirty a player he is. Since then he's just a waste of oxygen. Absolute sook.

It's relief, isn't it. I was 4 the last title we won, so not something I remember. I'm the same, thunderbird. There were times I thought we'd never win it again. Beautiful.

Red7

{Ed0666's Note - The last time we won the title was the year I lost my virginity. I’m 58 now. How do you like the, apples?

The standard of refereeing has gone downhill massively in the last couple of years. The players and staff are lifting their game every year, ticket prices go up, wages go up, everyone is getting more professional, and the league is the best league in the world. But, the officiating of matches is not improving along with all these things. They're going backwards, and something needs to change.

I could be wrong, but it all looks mental. He still looks a great player, but there are times when he looks like he's just not interested. I don't know what's happening with him at the club or at home, but his performances look lazy of late. There are a few players guilty of putting in weaker effort this season, though, so he's certainly not alone in that.

I'd like City to win the league, then cop a points deduction. The title will be handed to Arsenal, and the records will forever show an asterisk beside their name.

Honestly, though, I don't care who wins it. I spend more time looking at the bottom end of the table to see if Everton are going down or not.

I'm with you, though. If that doesn't get our arse into gear, nothing will. Those boys should be absolutely buzzing.

Yes, based on their ages. Salah will decline soon, if he's not already. Haaland is on the up.
