Had a brief chat with Jamie redknapp in niketown and he reckons mane will sign. here’s to hoping.

KopEnd1

1.) 27 May 2022 20:13:23
Never been to Niketown - closest I got was Vansville.

Well Jel!

2.) 27 May 2022 20:17:08
@Zeddicus 😂😂.

26 May 2022 21:35:07
So I got talking to this lad today in the shops and he seemed quite knowledgable tbf and he has said he’s got inside information that mane has already said to klopp that he will sign after champions league final and stay at anfield. don’t know what to make of this has anyone else heard anything of the sort or is it straight BS.

KopEnd1

1.) 26 May 2022 22:43:24
Guy in the shell garage said the same.

2.) 26 May 2022 22:48:21
They're reports in Germany (Build) where he has agreed personal terms with Bayern and they're looking to sign him for 30M euros.

3.) 26 May 2022 23:02:02
Why would he wait until after final to say he’s staying.

4.) 27 May 2022 04:02:34
Well after his comments today it's hard to tell. "Special" for LFC fans or the media? Depends who his audience was. If pushed I'd say he's staying. If he leaves I think it's Barca.

5.) 27 May 2022 07:41:54
He will sign a 2-year extension to his contract with us taking him to June 2025.

6.) 27 May 2022 07:54:13
ps - I'm just guessing. lol.

7.) 27 May 2022 07:48:20
£30 million for Mane?
Which leg is that they're hoping to buy?
End of contract or not, he is still one very very special player.

8.) 27 May 2022 08:15:46
Ed's any idea who LFC may bring in to replace Divock?

{Ed002's Note - Given how rarely he plays it would make sense to give a youngster an opportunity.}

9.) 27 May 2022 11:06:04
I’m not in the know but I feel that mane will leave, just a hunch.

10.) 27 May 2022 11:33:36
I have a feeling mane will leave too. Arguably needed to move on one of the traditional front three, as they are all the same age, and will happen at some point.
My only concern is mane is quality, super fit and reliable. He’s in our best 11 - and if Diaz is his replacement, then we are massively weakening our squad.

It’s been such a blessing having5 quality forwards, and don’t think we can afford to lose any without replacing, and replacing well.

11.) 27 May 2022 11:51:15
I can see both Mane and Salah leaving to be honest. As much as I don’t want that to happen let’s be honest, They have won everything that they can with us. What’s their motivation to stay? The only disaster would be losing them both for free next year. Even if we were to sell them for less than market value at least we would have something to use to replace them with. Yes Mane is more than a 30m player but Klopp didn’t buy him for much more than that, same with Salah. I have full confidence that Klopp and the club can find more players in that price range that will grow into adequate replacements if it comes to it.

12.) 27 May 2022 11:57:04
Mane is staying.

13.) 27 May 2022 12:00:52
Did we ever expect Rooney or Scholes to want out of Man U cos they had won everything? Pool fans look for negatives! They know they are at the best side around, both will sign on.

14.) 27 May 2022 12:20:23
I have a gut feeling Mane will stay. But I also have a hunch he will leave.
I'll rely on Twitter for the bare faced facts, it's always gospel on there.

15.) 27 May 2022 12:25:46
How can you reasonably have both Flash? They’re synonymous.

16.) 27 May 2022 13:04:48
I can see both Mane and Salah staying as we will offer them the best wages. don't see many clubs willing to pay a transfer fee and big wages for 2 players at 30. Unless they are MU so never say never.

17.) 27 May 2022 14:06:30
Whoosh.

18.) 27 May 2022 14:59:16
Would be delighted if he stays but if he wants to elsewhere for a new challenge he owes us nothing.

19.) 27 May 2022 18:16:11
:D at Flash!

*casts line*.

20.) 27 May 2022 20:24:52
Reelin' 'em in Z, reelin' 'em in.

21.) 27 May 2022 20:29:30
Not only did it go over the head, I'm fairly sure they're antonyms, synonyms could both reasonably be had.

22.) 28 May 2022 12:03:43
What’s more as well as antonyms I think they are also opposites.

Klopp needs to grow a set of bollocks and put forward an ultimatum that if he don’t get money for a midfielder then I have to leave.

KopEnd1

{Ed025's Note - that’s called..”cutting your nose off to spite your face “ mate..

1.) 31 Aug 2022 07:44:48
Klopp is on 300k a week and supported enough. I don't have any sympathy for his situation.
It wasn't a midfielder thay cost us points thus far. It was mistakes by our "top players".

2.) 31 Aug 2022 08:06:50
Just picture that moment in real time in your head for a second, Klopp sat across from Henry issuing an ultimatum, not a good ending is it!

3.) 31 Aug 2022 08:07:34
@KopEnd1 The transfer team at Liverpool have done an amazing job over the last 5 plus years. Targets carefully identified and plumped for when ducks can be aligned. Panic buying is not healthy for the club finances or for the immediate form of the squad. Most players need bedding in, you and other fans would probably get on their backs if they had one poor game post arrival.

4.) 31 Aug 2022 08:14:37
That would be a funny conversation. If I was in John Henry’s shoes and Klopp came at me like that, I would show him a picture of the midfielders Klopp spent money on who are currently sitting in rehab season after season lol.

5.) 31 Aug 2022 08:35:10
I thought some yesterday’s posts were bad…
Ridiculous.

6.) 31 Aug 2022 09:06:26
If Klopp left we'd have our pick of the best midfielders that Henry still wouldn't sign though.

7.) 31 Aug 2022 10:41:45
He signed a new deal a few months ago. One would assume the negotiation process included some discussion of future budgets and transfer policy, at least on a broad level.

If Jurgen wasn't happy with what FSG's ambition at that point, he shouldn't have signed the deal.

8.) 31 Aug 2022 10:48:14
Klopp wouldn’t be that stupid. If Klopp walked he’d struggle to find another job whilst we would replace him easily enough ?. (That’s a joke by the way, before anyone gets upset)

It’s never going to happen and if Klopp did walk for arguments sake then FSG would be up the creek without a paddle.

Klopps the main man at this club and the longer he stays the longer we will remain successful.

9.) 31 Aug 2022 10:19:20
I think Klopp was better off not explaining his point of view to be honest. It's only created more fume out there.

Clearly we have changed our strategy to only add first teamers and promising youth for development - nothing in between. First teamers of appropriate quality cost north of £50m - something we do not do lightly and plan for well in advance.

Whether this is a good idea will be judged over the course of the season.

Personally I'd like to see some flexibility to bring in some legs, even if they are not a guaranteed starter. It's an attribute that is missing from our options. But hey ho.

10.) 31 Aug 2022 11:12:51
Just a general question to see peoples thoughts.

If as we are led to believe Bellingham is coming next season then that’s 100 mill plus outlay (which is roughly 3 and a half seasons net spend for FSG on past dealings) .

If they committed to that on 1 player then I don’t really see who in the squad we sell that comes close to bringing that spend down as we’ve done in the past?

At this point Naby, Bobby, Ox and Milner could all leave on frees unless new contracts agreed.

Only players I could see at risk are Phillips and Jones who are both homegrown and fan favourites.

Bellingham is currently valued at 100 milll but what if he has an amazing season this year and rips the CL up. Surely that fee goes up.

We could see 4 players leave with zero income and 100 mill plus outcome on 1 player. It just doesn’t sound very FSG to me.

Interested to hear others opinions.

11.) 31 Aug 2022 11:16:41
Agreed pelican. Let's see what happens next summer concerning Bellingham. We don't make top 4 he ain't going to come here. verbal agreement or not.
Have feeling we are going to regret this summer just like we did the summer before last.
Let's just hope for 3 points tonight, we are going to be tested for sure.

12.) 31 Aug 2022 15:53:04
This getting embarrassing, I want us to sign another midfielder as much as the next person but I'm not going to throw a tantrum if it doesn't happen. Asking Klopp to demand the owners buy a new midfielder or he'll quit is just pathetic.

13.) 31 Aug 2022 16:08:56
There is a really good reason that Klopp wouldn’t, and shouldn’t make that kind of ultimatum, it lacks professionalism and it’s disrespectful to the squad, his coaching team and us as supporters, he isn’t that kind of man to throw the towel in like that. If we don’t get one and we hit a rocky patch then I’d expect us to do something in the transfer window. It’s pretty plain to see that we’re short of quality and durability in midfield but we’re not going to fix that now in two days. Let’s get Newcastle out the way with a big win and see what the next 48 hours bring. Hopefully not Sander Berge or Tielemans with any luck.

14.) 31 Aug 2022 16:24:35
If Klopp really wants a player like Bellingham maybe FSG will back him to sign the player.
I'd much rather us sign the player Klopp wants than the ones touted by impatient fans on a forum.

15.) 31 Aug 2022 18:00:23
On balance there are reasons why it may or may not happen.

In the cons section, We’re up against teams with significantly higher budgets and more cash, if a bidding war happens then we’ll likely get bullied out straight away, as realistically there’s no way we can keep up if the oil teams and Madrid if they decide to outbid each other. If Newcastle get into Europe they’ll throw their hat into the ring too and they’ll want to make a statement signing.

If he has a good season his value may soar even further out of reach, journalists with connections to Dortmund were saying they wanted a double what they got for Sancho, so Christ knows what they’ll want in a years time as there’s no clause in his contract so his price could go out of reach.

In the positives, we could go to the same terms as Sancho went to United for (apparently 5 equal annual instalments over 5 years), but offer a larger up front payment. That does though leave the wage issue as he’s not going to want to come in for less than his former Dortmund teammates are getting at City and United.

The only other thing is, given our issues across midfield and needing to replace at least 3 players (Milner, Ox, Keita), is putting all our eggs in one Bellingham shaped basket the most sensible option when we’re really paying for potential and not a finished or close to finished article?

16.) 31 Aug 2022 20:19:49
If we’re up against clubs with significantly bigger budgets than us (not disputing that btw) , I’m how come Bellingham hasn’t been bought this window……?

{Ed002's Note - He is not for sale this smeer. Liverpool have no agreement with Dortmund.}

oh gosh lads I am dying to see a Manchester United all or nothing documentary that will be gold!

KopEnd1

1.) 13 Aug 2022 20:38:49
Yeah but it will be called 'nothing'

2.) 13 Aug 2022 21:35:44
Careful now, Liverpool were at best mediocre last week and were fortunate not to loose. Palace will not be easy on Monday, let's spend less time gloating and more time concentrating on what we have to come. A bad display again Monday and we are 1 point above United who are bottom.

3.) 13 Aug 2022 21:44:41
If nil-hag is reading this, the phrase is kwaadaardige vreugde in Dutch. And boy is it fun.

4.) 13 Aug 2022 22:31:42
I’m not sure if Liverpool fans gloating will have any impact on the team’s performance on Monday no matter how much we concentrate. I’m all for laughing at United getting humiliated weekly.

5.) 13 Aug 2022 23:57:45
I remember Liverpool were in the relegation zone a few years ago. I think it may have been under Hodgeson? It was the lowest point and it’s all been uphill from there. I think we needed it as a reset. Man U will be back, one day. In the meantime let’s just enjoy it. Bottom of the league lol.

6.) 14 Aug 2022 10:01:04
Personally, I don’t take pot shots at Utd or even Everton at this time cos they are that dreadful that it feels a lot like bullying and punching down at times BUT that’s just me. Now If anyone wants to take shots at either team then by all means, have at it. They’re always good for a chuckle anyway.

7.) 14 Aug 2022 11:29:00
It should be called 'All or nowt ovic'.

8.) 14 Aug 2022 11:42:16
Utds decline began in my opinion when they wasted 85 million on Mcguire who is about as quick as a donkey on Blackpool pleasure Beach I referee amateur football and he wouldn't get a game up here for many of a team.

9.) 14 Aug 2022 12:32:58
Anyone feeling any sympathy for United's plight should remember "we are United and we do what we want. "
Lots more suffering for them please.

10.) 14 Aug 2022 13:19:40
I've never seen a donkey on The Pleasure Beach, Rabh.

11.) 14 Aug 2022 14:02:36
The road is long for United. They had made a decent decision (for once) in convincing Ralf to take a prominent role in rebooting the footballing side but they panicked again and binned him off to convince their new saviour, ETH.

The fact that Gary Neville keeps losing his head live on TV just adds to the deliciousness of it all.

12.) 14 Aug 2022 17:34:13
I pity and empathize with rat face actually. It must hurt so much to utter some of those words that he uses in describing his beloved United. Like mental torture. Not to mention the nightmares and restless sleep. ?.

13.) 14 Aug 2022 19:45:11
I don't sympathise with Gary Nev. I'm too sick of him thinking he's the next Alan Sugar because he's made some investments with business partners who actually know what they're doing. If he was doing it on his own, he'd have lost the lot. Unfathomable how the Valencia job and Euros defeat to Iceland couldn't bring him down a peg.

Absolutely brilliant stuff.
"We are United and we do what we want".
Yeah, right.

2.) 10 Aug 2022 18:14:16
Chelsea likely getting him and AubAmeyang they will be strong this season imo they’ve built a good squad to challenge on all fronts.

3.) 10 Aug 2022 18:19:05
Downside is Chelsea are looking strong and trying to buy the league like the good ol days…?

4.) 10 Aug 2022 18:55:27
It will all end in tears with that guy in charge.

5.) 10 Aug 2022 21:29:45
Yes he will. Amongst other things, Tuchel is also a master at destroying what's going very well.

6.) 10 Aug 2022 23:49:05
I don’t like the look of Chelsea this season at all, and this has been reflected in my fantasy team selection. Every time i put Reece James in it gave me an icky feeling in my stomach. The club has been consumed by bad vibes from top to bottom and i think they’ll struggle this season, perhaps even implode and finish 7th or 8th. They are going backwards.

21 Jun 2022 21:52:17
Looks like minamino has moved on to Monaco, it’s a shame really he’s a beast in cup games. hopefully the ox follows and we can get barella in.

KopEnd1

1.) 21 Jun 2022 23:45:50
That's a nice engagement gift you're giving the Ox. ?.

2.) 22 Jun 2022 09:19:20
OP, there is a better chance of Ox staying than him leaving and Barella replacing him, IMO.

29 May 2022 16:40:42
What do people think of Bowen being discussed as coming in? . No disrespect to the lad but that don’t really fill me with joy and I don’t even want to think about what the price tag on him will be. Bowen in and mane out feels so criminal.

KopEnd1

1.) 29 May 2022 17:00:22
From what I’ve seen of Bowen he looks a pretty good player. Sadio has been brilliant for us but if he wants a new challenge and we can get most of the purchase cost back for a player who’s 6 years older than when we bought him then I think we should take it. I doubt Bowen will be moving to us anyway TBH though as the price tag will be silly.

2.) 29 May 2022 17:11:51
Bowen is direct and is a very decent player. Price would be silly imo. Personally I hope if he need someone upfront we go for someone that finds the net easy and can link up play.

3.) 29 May 2022 17:14:05
Criminally under rated imho. If he was Brazilian, Argentinian or Spanish people would be raving about him. He’s quick, direct, skilful, great first touch and can shoot as well as find a team mate and leaves nothing on the pitch, so he’s got graft to go with his skill. He’s got 12 goals and about as many assists for West Ham, he’s improved year on year and is only getting better. There’s a player there who I think could really kick on for us.

4.) 29 May 2022 17:19:59
Nkunku please.

5.) 29 May 2022 17:30:43
Bowen had his best ever season this year and he looks to be improving every season. To come to us though he would realistically need a better season again as he will be playing CL standard defenders in Europe and have far bigger expectations on him in the league than he does at West Ham.

One thing we’ve overlooked is the type of player we need. I’ve not seen lots and lots of Bowen but if his strengths and Goals come from hitting teams on the break then he’s not the one for us.

90-95% of teams we play next season will play a low block with 11 men behind the ball trying to hit us on the break. So we need a proven forward that is used to this and can make a difference in our team.

Mane, Salah, Diaz and Jota are all very good at running in behind but last night it only happened once with Salah as Real were so deep. There’s no point buying similar to what we have to try and get around a problem we are trying to solve.

I’ve never even considered Kane before but to be honest the more and more I think about it the more I believe he would be sensational for us. We need someone of his mould and ability but the tricky part is now finding it.

6.) 29 May 2022 17:46:08
If the price is reasonable I'd be more than happy with him, would provide excellent cover for Salah. He would also be valuable in squad registration due to his HG status - especially with Ox maybe leaving in the summer.

7.) 29 May 2022 17:57:05
I would be extremely happy with Nunez and Bowen. If we are going big on a forward, which I can’t see then I’m with you JK23, it would be Kane. He is nothing short of a world class finisher. Not only that but he is actually equally as good with his passing and as a playmaker. Imagine him playing in that false 9 role with Diaz to his left and Salah to his right. Only issue is you have Levy to get through, who everyone wishes was handling their own finances 😂.

8.) 29 May 2022 18:10:02
Bowen scored 18 in all competitions including 3 in the UEFA Cup, which is good going and shows he can adapt to different opponents. I’d take him over Nkunku as there’s no guarantee how a player from the bundesliga is going to work out. Look at Timo Werner and Jadon Sancho, scored for fun in Germany but can’t get a sniff over here.

As for Harry Kane, spurs want £150m for a 29 year old with dodgy ankles and all the pace and mobility of the QE2. I’d rather take a punt on Darwin Nunez, would cost significantly less and has plenty of miles left on the clock. Unlike Kane.

9.) 29 May 2022 19:33:30
I’d love Son
Wanted us to get him from Bundesliga as he can play false 9 and across the front 3

Spurs got good business in there.

10.) 29 May 2022 19:48:19
Bowen is a superb player and would be a great salah replacement. Too pricey though I think.

So he wouldn’t be a rat if city or united offered him a nice wage packet and he went? This is just
Hypothetically speaking. because realistically it’s only city, Chelsea, city or united that could offer him that money in the prem.

KopEnd1

{Ed0666's Note - why is he a rat if he signs for anyone apart from Liverpool? Is he Liverpool born & raised? As I said before they are all mercenary’s like most people on everyday jobs. I don’t think Owens a rat for signing for United I just don’t like him because he was all about himself and not the team. Salah has given us everything and not once complained about anything. Pre AFCON he was the best player in the world certainly better than Ronaldo isn’t it fair he asked for Ronaldo type money??

I completely understand what everyone has said, I think it’s more I just have a strong dislike for city and their fans and I don’t rate pep fraudiola highly as a manager either. a club like city that has 0 history but yet seem to have the loudest mouths can’t stand em. anyways rant over and I’ll put the faith in klopp and the players. Let’s grab this 7th champions league and show why we are the best in the world YNWA.
