Apparantly talksport have just announced that paul joyce has said that liverpool have called off thiere pursuit of bellingham due to the scale of the rebuild needed-they don't wish to spend that much on one player in the summer.

ed2, Do you know if there are other clubs that would meet Salah's wage demands? previously you'd mentioned Real madrid laughed his agent out of the room a couple years ago for about the same as what they are asking Liverpool to pay now.

I feel like we're the one club that would possibly pay whatever wages it is Salah and his agent are asking for. And also that Salah and his agent know it.

Eds a question if I may, if Madrid are confident of signing Trent in the summer as reports suggest, why are they approaching Liverpool in January with I presume an assumption to buy.
Also surely when Klopp informed the club of his intentions 18 months ago it would have had a massive impact on a situation like this creating anxiety and sceptisism regarding who was taking over, I mean for a start AS wasn't even 1st or 2nd choice if we believe the media.
Do you not think the players would have been advised by agents etc to hang fire and see how things panned out. Now this season, the whole landscape has changed with way the team is and are performing.
Iam pretty sure AS is at home tonight fully aware of the players intentions (regardless of how negotiations pan out) . I can't belive a man as meticulous as he his in terms of tactics, opposition strengths/ weaknesses dosen't even know what 3 of his best players intentions are.
You have told us that negotations have begun so is it fair for me to guess that they have not told the club they are definetley not signing, I am tempted to ignore what players are saying in interviews, they are only ever going to say miles off or nothing to report-imagine if mo said "yeh talks are going well" every red in the land is jumping through hoops.
Finally this whole saga has been blown out of proportion by the media. They would like nothing more that to tell the footballing world that Liverpool are about to lose some of theire best players. Slot looks like he is creating something special the players will be aware of that a lot more than Iam-fascinating game of cat and mouse this and as always we go again.
