Ed001
Mills would be a good shout for RB in my opinion.
Do you know if we have looked at him as an option and would Sunderland be willing to sell?

{Ed001's Note - Mills? I can only think of Mukiele you could possibly mean? If so, we had a lot of interest in him a very long time ago, when he was a youngster, I don't believe we have considered him since then. Sunderland would sell for the right price, they are not in a position to just flatly refuse big offers for any of their players due to SCR requirements.}

19 Jul 2026 11:49:14
James Milner can probably still do a job there.

Agree2

19 Jul 2026 11:38:56
Mukiele is correct Ed, sorry mate I have fat fingers. Thanks for the response I would say him or Kayode were the ones from the prem to look at.

Agree0

{Ed001's Note - I do like Mukiele but I think his time to move to us has gone.}

19 Jul 2026 12:23:12
Careful, mate, no doubt mentioning the words fat will offend someone.

They'll need to find a safe place.

Agree8

19 Jul 2026 12:47:45
As a fat man, I take offense to that, JK. It's a lot harder to fit into a safe space when you're fat!

Agree8

19 Jul 2026 13:25:12
Kayode just signed a new deal until 2031, so would require a huge bid to get him out of Brentford.

Agree1

19 Jul 2026 09:40:55
I see a private jet landed early this morning in Liverpool. Next stop is a private airfield just outside Miami. Could be our next signing from the French or England squad.

19 Jul 2026 10:00:05
Could our next signing be Sonny Crockett or Rico Tubbs?
I'd best dig my old suits out if it is.

Agree7

19 Jul 2026 10:16:14
Relax, lads. It's Gloria Estefan.

Agree3

19 Jul 2026 10:52:59
Could be Bozo Texino?

Agree3

19 Jul 2026 11:29:31
Maybe a few of the hundred or so golfers heading home today?

Agree1

19 Jul 2026 11:31:56
Wouldn't it fly from Miami to Liverpool and not the other way round?

Agree5

19 Jul 2026 11:38:49
Sorry that was just me guys.

I own this little guitar company called Rock Nation. Some fella called Richard Hughes has been paying me £££ for months because he thinks I know a dude called Diomande.

Agree0

19 Jul 2026 16:03:51
Rigsby, I didn't know Tubbs' first name was Rico... never too old to learn things.

Agree0

19 Jul 2026 18:15:18
I remember loads of useless information, Stromsy.

Agree1

19 Jul 2026 09:24:31
Errrrrrrrrrrr I am sure I just took out my binoculars from New Zealand and saw Barcola getting off John Lennon Airport, singing YNWA. It's on guys!

Also any update on Diomande, I just can't believe we were played that badly again like Caicedo.

19 Jul 2026 09:45:49
Football deals get scuppered all the time for a plethora of reasons and it's not just Liverpool.

Agree5

19 Jul 2026 13:20:49
To be honest, I hope Diomande doesn't get a deal with any club, and hopefully gets him to move agencies and teaches those muppets how to do business properly.

Controversial post coming. Do expect to get some opposing responses.

I’ve been coaching kids' footy for 16 years and most weeks experience poor behaviour of some kind, often from the opposing coach or parents rather than the kids.

The U15 team I look after recently won a big local cup final and in the semi had to put up with their manager (who’d been sent off earlier in the game) storming on the pitch shouting to me and my players (who are 15) you’re all f****** crap and will get battered in the final.

As a side note, our lads played 22 and won 19 in the top division in the league.

Anyway my point is that what I’ve enjoyed about this World Cup is seeing fans mixed together, smiling and dancing. When their team scores they celebrate rather than start gesturing and swearing etc at opposing fans.

I get the tribalism in club footy is ingrained and unlikely to change. I just don’t like elements of it especially when I see it seeping into kids' footy where it should have no place.

19 Jul 2026 09:49:42
Exactly, LTV.
Another reason for the thumbs up for this World Cup, and has there even been any fighting by the fans?
You're right tho, how can you expect kids to behave as footballers or fans when the adults can't?

Agree2

{Ed001's Note - there has been loads of fights between fans, it is just that it has not got the coverage.}

19 Jul 2026 10:31:36
It's the same out of football. Kids get all the bad press, but adults are the biggest problem. From those in charge, downwards.

I'm a bus driver, I pick up loads of kids, and I'd have a bus full of them before a bus full of the older generations.

Agree4

19 Jul 2026 10:42:12
Nothing controversial about that, @long term view. 100%.

Agree5

19 Jul 2026 10:52:35
Despite the sports washing going on at this World Cup, the football has been enjoyable. So I guess the sports washing has worked lol.

A shame about the other team the tourney. I tend to feel empathy for people like that. Something ain't right with them, or not gone right for them to not have the emotional regulation to deal.

Agree2

19 Jul 2026 13:39:37
LTV, I coached in grassroots from u8s to u17s, coaches fronting up, older kids headbutting, some threatening managers like myself, and we wonder why we see bad behaviour, it's a vicious circle. On the World Cup, there has been some fighting but not in the stadiums as far as I know. Wouldn't mess the American cops about.

Agree1

19 Jul 2026 14:26:22
My nephew plays u14 rugby league and football. The difference between coaches/parents on sidelines is crazy. At football, I have seen punches thrown from parents. At rugby games, there's a bit of swearing, but after the game, everyone goes to the home team's club house and has a laugh together.

Agree2

19 Jul 2026 16:07:56
Imagine watching a game with say United fans, never going to happen n I wouldn't want it to, it's the passion that makes our football the best atmosphere.

Agree0

19 Jul 2026 09:33:49
Its possibly the biggest stain on the game long term view. At every level.

Rival fans need to be separated because of serious violence threats.

My opinion is that people can be passionate and still civil. God I love the banter side of the game but the light playful poking fun at rival teams. Like the other day some fan here made fun of all the top eight teams that didn't make the world cup quarter finals we coached by ex everton managers and said something playful about Everton. That was hilarious and I love that side of the game. ED25 laughed it off like a gentleman as always.

But obviously some people think being passionate is being a violent thug. Many people are probably insecure and probably tag along in a group mentality but that's no excuse either. You have to have many screws lose to wish someone harm for supporting a different team.

Agree2

{Ed025's Note - absolutely Davey..

19 Jul 2026 05:04:23
If anyone is keeping score, England are officially the third best footballing country in the world.

{Ed078's Note - trying to think of something sarcastic to say, but I've got nothing but apathy.

19 Jul 2026 05:57:04
They're coming home.

Agree17

19 Jul 2026 07:59:17
Always turn it on when it doesn't mean eff all.

Agree4

19 Jul 2026 08:08:35
Genuinely rather win the Papa Johns Trophy 🍕. Key word being "win".

Agree7

19 Jul 2026 09:04:35
Maybe the OP should change his/her name to The 3rd Element.... just to celebrate that amazing achievement that will be celebrated by everyone for years to come. 😉 👏

Agree2

19 Jul 2026 09:39:37
I like Henderson as a GK. He's getting better by the year.
Wonder if we would look at him next year?

Agree1

19 Jul 2026 09:51:36
To be fair, it was a meaningless game, and I think the score line reflected that! Does any seriously think it would have been 6-4 if this was a semi final or Final?

Agree5

19 Jul 2026 10:43:57
I mean, I get your point, Irish Rover, but the last World Cup final is a bit of a counter argument here also.

And, as a fellow Irish man (not English, my point being), I think England should celebrate this.

I know their aim was to win, but like, this is their best outcome in 15 attempts.

I don't know why everyone is so anti anything but the win.

Agree8

19 Jul 2026 11:05:11
Good post, Pickle.
I think the disappointment is more about the way we went out on Wednesday.
France went out tamely, too, and I'm interested to know how the country reacted to that.

Agree2

19 Jul 2026 11:09:31
A pointless match that I'm sure none of the players want to play. They all claim to be burned out with the huge amount of games they currently play for club and country. This is just another money cow for FIFA to sell tickets and advertising.

Plus it's padding stats, like improving Mbappe's goals tally in a meaningless match. Surprised Kane didn't start so he could also increase his tally. It's like a school sports day with participation medals for all the losers.

Agree5

19 Jul 2026 01:22:18
It's all Palaver:

I've said since the earth was formed and before the 1st organism existed.

And I'll say it again.

Diomande will sign.
Barcola will not.

Over and out.

{Ed078's Note - time for a screenshot.

19 Jul 2026 07:01:16
This will age like a dead badger.

Agree11

19 Jul 2026 07:22:50
Hope it's true and we see light. At the prices quoted, I want none of them.

Agree1

19 Jul 2026 08:13:49
So, before any sign of life existed, microbes, organisms, etc., you were declaring 2026 LFC transfers? OK.

Agree2

19 Jul 2026 08:46:14
I want both.
I'll say it again.
I want both.

Big love.

Will.

Agree5

19 Jul 2026 09:20:05
We won't see him again!

Agree2

19 Jul 2026 10:07:22
My Missus says she has to make her own organisms.
I don't know what she does in there, but it doesn't sound easy.

Agree10

19 Jul 2026 12:25:35
Rigsby. 🤣🤣👏

Agree3

19 Jul 2026 16:12:04
Is this a new ITK or an old one with a name change... seems to be more ITKs than posters these days.

Agree0

18 Jul 2026 23:51:04
After a grim first half France brought Barcola on and the boy is decent.
Liverpool need to pull their finger out, he is way better than Cody Gakpo and would add pace and power on the left.
A must signing for me.

19 Jul 2026 00:19:52
There are a lot of doubters on here, but I agree he will do well in the PL.

Agree9

19 Jul 2026 00:23:44
England were as poor in that 2nd half as France were in the 1st half. Gakpo'd have had a field day himself.

Agree4

19 Jul 2026 01:27:59
No. Please, no. The boy looks made for London, not Liverpool.

Agree1

19 Jul 2026 02:11:24
You are deluded QV you cannot be watching the same player as me?

Agree3

19 Jul 2026 05:11:11
Did anyone notice the lack of diving from either side in this game???

Agree11

18 Jul 2026 23:32:48
Holy s***, England are going to blow this aren’t they? Wow!

18 Jul 2026 22:51:39
I know he's left, but I'm so glad we don't have to deal with Konate's poor performances anymore. He is having an absolute mare for France in the first half of this third place match against England. Erratic positioning, ambling into midfield for no reason and passing the ball to the opposition. Boy, I'm glad we didn't give him a contract.

18 Jul 2026 23:37:17
Crazy how England look leaderless tonight and Wednesday despite having Henderson in full kit on the side line giving instructions.

Agree3

19 Jul 2026 00:05:57
I thought Rice was inspirational for much of the match. I literally hope you're taking the piss.

Agree4

19 Jul 2026 00:26:40
I think JK's having a pop at Henderson, or the Liverpool fans that thought Henderson was a good player, Rola.

Agree3

19 Jul 2026 04:14:32
How is my comment having a pop at Henderson being a good player, Footyfan?

Rola throwing a lead on Wed night, and then almost throwing a 4 goal lead last night, was what my leaderless comment was based on.

Agree2

19 Jul 2026 09:17:36
I think both games shaw England flag from tiredness. Not enough subs were used or early enough.

Agree0

19 Jul 2026 09:21:15
Rice - inspirational? Jesus, how much is left in the barrel you're scraping the bottom of?

Agree2

19 Jul 2026 10:06:14
Pretty sure England used subs at 1 nil up on Wed and the 15 min half time break must have further exhausted them last night.
