It is a huge game today. No one really thought we would be near the title this season and the favorites are still Arsenal as there is such a big question mark over City.

But a win today and we are right in the mix going in to a game against a poor Palace team next weekend. A loss however and it will be defeats at home to two of the 4 teams above us. The City loss was hard to take for a number of reasons, no least as the game was in the balance until a ridiculous red card. But non the less it was a loss.

I feel this will be a score draw and as you were. But dreaming of a win as that would be lift off for us I think.

About Time to put in a performance that turns us into believers again.

6

01 Nov 2026 13:29:56
Speak for yourself, Einstein. Win, lose or draw, many of us are believers already, and always will be.

8

01 Nov 2026 14:30:34
Agree with ArAy, I am already a believer win or lose.

2

01 Nov 2026 14:59:56
I can't see a title winning squad currently.

3

01 Nov 2026 15:53:21
LFC8 - your probably right mate but looking at the bench and the return of Hugo & Bradley hopefully after Christmas at some point plus some strengthening in key areas come January that squad is starting to look pretty strong and a lot deeper.

Stay in touching distance into end of January early Feb and we could well go deep?
Squad is relatively young and full of potential.

0

https://www.rangersrumours.co.uk/images/Ed0041.png avatar{Ed666's Note - i wouldn’t hold your breath about Bradley and Hugo dosing much this season. They’ve both had horrid injuries and I’d be surprised if those injuries haven’t taken left their mark. For example I think Hugo will have lost some pace.

Hi eds1 hope your well mate.
At this stage of the season who would you prefer as our manager Iraola or Alonso and why.
Thanks.

0

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - Iraola was always my choice, I said him a long time ago. I think he is the best possible option we could get

11

01 Nov 2026 12:49:03
I back you up on that one Tris you always wanted Iraola in. Just like you always wanted Bill and Ben out.

1

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - yeah I liked Iraola a lot, I amglad he is our manager.

1

01 Nov 2026 13:38:34
Iraola might just be the best manager in the league. Yes, I said it!

1

01 Nov 2026 14:15:16
I wanted Alonso. Part of that was driven by someone who understood the club and had experience of winning big things. I also felt he would be a counter balance to the power that Hughes and Edwards wielded. They are gone now.

I have been hugely impressed by how Iraola has embraced the club so far and am happy with the appointment. However, I am sure he has many more challenges to face ahead.

Right now, things feel good in a 17/18 kind of way!

1

01 Nov 2026 14:49:32
I've always rated Iraola. I was even worried he might end up replacing Pep at Man City. Thank goodness we got him!

I am one hundred percent certain that if Andoni had gone to man United and Slot had stayed? we would be in man utd's position and they would be in our shoes! with loads more to come.

I wonder why no one has any interest in Slot as their manager, even the Dutch National team ignored him for Xavi Hernandez and that's his own fellow countrymen, after all he is a PL winner as all the Slot lovers would often say even to the end, then why do man United not go for him now then all you still Slot lovers?

Ooops I forgot he has got a football job? he's a technical observer for UEFA, that means he's showing all the aspiring new coaches how to concede the most goals in a PL season of any LFC manager in PL history, and how to be a team that was outrun in 29 PL games in a season another LFC PL record? and pay ye council tax to greater manchester, that's another great incentive for the man United job? he's a shoe in?

YNWA Andoni

YNWA (You'll Never Work Again? for you know who!)

01 Nov 2026 11:54:50
Ed1 I know this ain't the Man United page, but what is going on there? Carrick clearly out of his depth, INEOS also? Players downing tools or poor fitness and tactics.

What a season it would be to see both Manchester City clubs relegated .

1

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - penny pinching. inept leadership and poor tactics. And I mean inept leadership at all levels. They could very easily go down, but there are a lot of poor sides this season so they will get away with it again.

3

01 Nov 2026 13:08:30
They've got a massive problem because the clear out is impossible. Their recruitment has been so bad that not only will they struggle to sell players, they'd struggle to give them away for free because nobody is going to pay their wages.

If they want to do a proper clear out they're going to have to pay players to leave. It's a simple point but Cunha and Mbuemo are arguably 2 of their best players, and they are quite literally mid table players by every possible metric. Sums it up.

0

01 Nov 2026 13:16:53
Great isn't it 🤣.

5

01 Nov 2026 12:57:10
Inept leadership, without a doubt. Poor tactics, clearly. But penny punching? Is this the same Man United we both no doubt loathe, Ed? For years it seemed they couldn't stop splurging money, they just did it horrifically.
That said, I am frankly astonished that their defence is basically the same as it was going back to the Solksjaer era.

2

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - since the Rat bought in, they have been penny pinching. The problem is they are saving pennies while flushing fifties down the bog.

4

01 Nov 2026 14:25:34
It's incredible to watch their club repeatedly and predictably self-mutilate. The club is in a death spiral that only a new ownership has a chance of halting.

0

01 Nov 2026 14:35:56
Was in my local yesterday and was chatting with a few United fans - I was an absolute delight as you can imagine ha.

To my utter shock the vast majority where legit saying the best thing that could happen to them is getting relegated,

Same fans who told me at the start of the season they're back and will challenge this year ha ha.

1

01 Nov 2026 14:43:33
CrazyHorse - it's like the Men In Black turn up every summer and click that pen thingy (think it was called a Neuralyzer).

Literally every summer they think the transfer window was the best and that they will challenge.

Presumably, the relegation shouts are because they think that is the only way the owners would sell and a slate would be wiped clean.

1

01 Nov 2026 15:12:56
It's a strange on, I work for a company that sub conned to Grangemouth under ineos and the level of cuts made
To the every day worker was crazy. And he seems to have followed that manta with United cut the every day man out yet pay the players crazy money.

It's always been a joke among our company how he can be one of the richest men in Britain but be so inept at running a business. Although his company is £19 billion in debt so maybe he's not as savvy as we thought .

1

01 Nov 2026 15:34:14
@FPF - Ironically it was a load of the old MIB mob I was chatting to ha.

0

01 Nov 2026 09:24:48
@Lyd-bor
We have a DM in the squad who is Captain of his country p, aging the position -Endo.
I can't think why he's not getting any minutes at all, baffling. I know he's come back from injury but every time he's been on the field he's never let us down.
I feel sorry for the fella.

6

01 Nov 2026 09:33:25
Maybe because the manager picks the team and he prefers other players to play - I know that sounds crazy but it's just a hunch I have that might explain it.

4

01 Nov 2026 10:09:42
Steady Crazy Horse.

4

01 Nov 2026 10:10:55
Maybe because he simply isn't very good.

7

01 Nov 2026 10:11:20
He was no spring chicken when we bought him. He did a great job for us and I loved him it's over now.

5

01 Nov 2026 10:41:41
I'm sure Andoni would trust him if needed.

But the decision seems to be between playing Grav into form or giving a young gun his deserved minutes.

Unfortunately for Endo, I'm not sure his minutes are the priority unless we really need them.

1

01 Nov 2026 10:44:15
You have to look at the fact that if Endo was getting minutes Nyoni wouldn't be. I think Endo and Chiesa will likely leave in Jan as the manager clearly prefers giving the youth players a chance to prove themselves.

1

01 Nov 2026 10:56:36
Endo's contract expires in Jun 2027 so highly doubt anyone would sign him in Jan when they can possibly get him for free if they wait 6 more months. I think Chiesa may leave on loan.

0

01 Nov 2026 11:20:50
Probably because he's almost 34 years old and there are only so many old legs you want in the team. Anyway, Nyoni has been great, why hold him back.

3

01 Nov 2026 12:15:14
Because he has the mobility of Stonehenge? 😂.

0

01 Nov 2026 12:19:56
Furious he doesn't play

Not for Liverpool, we should sell him

But that guy Racks up yellow cards for fun, he's unbelievable on an acca.

1

01 Nov 2026 13:34:51
Dacred, we could always agree to an early co tract termination and release Endo in Jan.

0

01 Nov 2026 14:19:21
The 30 year old stop gap DM we bought 3 and a half years ago is not getting in the team? Fancy that eh.

The remainder of his contract is probably worth less than £2m by January. He is certainly not the reason we cannot sign a midfielder.

0

01 Nov 2026 14:21:03
But hardly any of that time you mentioned him having on the field has come in the last two years. Endo's time is up and has been for some time. He is not good enough to be at a club trying to win Premier Leagues. Great attitude but should go in January.

0

01 Nov 2026 15:31:06
Agreed Lofty, which was what I meant. He could even go on loan for rest of season and leave in summer.
I think without a doubt we have seen the last of Elliot, Chiesa and Endo.

0

01 Nov 2026 08:32:13
Anyone think that Araujo could play DM?

0

01 Nov 2026 08:47:36
What's the obsession with plonking players into random positions?
Araujo is not a midfielder. He doesn't move, pass, run, play or think like a midfielder. Leave him in defence.

11

01 Nov 2026 09:02:34
No, but every time I see Jacquet play he looks every inch a DM, he does all of those things Lowe has outlined and spends a lot of his time in the opponents half anyway.

Just for this season, mind!

2

01 Nov 2026 09:25:27
Sounds outlandish but not a crazy idea at all. If tried, I'd go with Jacquet first. Both Jacquet and Araujo have the tackling and physical skills and presence to play there, but it's a big question as to whether they can marshall that entire width of the pitch in the middle with positional sense, especially when Kerkez and Frimpong are upfield.

Something as a last resort I would say; let's stick to Nyoni and see how he does over several 90 minute games.

1

01 Nov 2026 09:46:41
Sounds sensible to me guys, I've often wondered why managers don't look at a squad and think: what players are playing really well in their position right now and how could I weaken the team by moving them to a position they've never played and then have to play other players who aren't as good as them to fill the gap I've just made by moving them.

How about we leave them where they are and let them do what they do best.

6

01 Nov 2026 10:10:32
Crazy Horse strikes again lmao.

0

01 Nov 2026 10:43:11
yeah play Araujo at DM, then Grav at RB, then before Dom is fit let's play him at LB.

1

01 Nov 2026 12:02:45
Why not play Araujo as GK? .Ali can be his understudy.

0

01 Nov 2026 12:16:12
I jacket started as a mid.

0

01 Nov 2026 13:42:07
His passing is clearly not good enough for that position.

0

01 Nov 2026 14:31:17
We would be down to 10 men after 5 minutes.

0

01 Nov 2026 14:44:53
Site pickles my brain sometimes @Duffer ha.

Day 1) Konate is a liability

Day 2) Frimpong is garbage, Bradley is a sick note

Day 3) Jaquet is a Rolls Royce CB future looks good

Day 4) Barca guy looks like the best loan signing EVER - solid RB and can cover across the back line

Day 5) Defense looks way more solid

Day 6) Anyone think we should rip it up and stick em in midfield haha.

Just a bit of banter, but now Man United are currently in the relegation zone with palace currently drawing at spurs, could we have a poll on who we'd prefer to go down, United or city? 😁.

United Or City poll

1

31 Oct 2026 21:04:27
I think a "Both" option would get all the votes 👍.

19

31 Oct 2026 22:34:23
Both, and Chelsea.

6

31 Oct 2026 23:17:51
As much as I loathe United, they haven't cheated. City deserve relegation, United would just be funny.

8

https://www.rangersrumours.co.uk/images/Ed0041.png avatar{Ed666's Note - United going down would be the best day of my life…

15

31 Oct 2026 23:18:43
Both plus Crystal Palace so I don't have to sit through any more of those drab 0-0 draws that they seem to be involved in on every single Monday Night Football.

4

31 Oct 2026 23:03:45
It's a bit like the good old non-pc days that one. It went along the lines of, if you had a gun with one bullet, who would you shoot Thatcher or Reagan. The answer, of course, is to stand Reagan behind Thatcher and use a very big gun.

8

01 Nov 2026 00:34:10
I remember the last time United were relegated ('74) and the irony of Dennis Law scoring the goal, for Man City, that guaranteed they'd be relegated.

5

01 Nov 2026 07:34:58
Manchester derby in the championship next season would be delightful.

4

01 Nov 2026 07:40:09
Bin both n bin hard with a vengence.

2

01 Nov 2026 08:37:06
Is the question : If ManU finished 18th but the PL wanted to relegate City, would you prefer ManU (18th) or City (cheats) to go down.

I think City, they have cheated. Both would have deserved to go down but ManU have a lot more ground to recover than City.

Personally I'd let 4 teams come up from the Championship and send them both down.

3

01 Nov 2026 08:52:50
I hate that Liverpool fans have nothing better to talk about (like the press and so called news channels) than to constantly bring up man utd. Some of us come on here to try n get away from having to hear about them, every time you talk about them is an admission of how bigger a club they are compared to ours.

0

01 Nov 2026 08:55:48
Big clubs wouldn't be in 17th.

4

01 Nov 2026 09:05:24
I've seen enough, relegate Everton as well.

5

01 Nov 2026 09:06:00
@Jimjim, genuine question - what do you mean by 'bigger' club?

2

01 Nov 2026 09:24:50
When sky sports or talk sports justify why they constantly talk about man United they say cus they are the biggest team in England and that turns my stomach but when I come on here and Liverpool fans have nothing else to talk about you understand why they do it. Can't we please make this a man United free environment please.

1

01 Nov 2026 10:15:13
"Nothing else" JimJim?

I read this website religiously way more than I dare admit.

It's pretty rare to talk about the Mancs. And when we do. it's for good reason. They are f&&&&*CCd.

Man Cheaters. When they scored against us I uttered the immortal words "F****** cheats". because that's all the deserve.

Whereas watching the other mancs nothing give me more pleasure than seeing their slot rot from the head.

So hell yeah let's talk about them. But if you really think they are bigger clubs then I don't know what to say to you. Maybe read more about Liverpool?

2

01 Nov 2026 10:33:34
WDW, it's a popular misconception that Denis Law relegated United. Due to results elsewhere, United would have been relegated anyway; even if United had won that day.

1

01 Nov 2026 10:50:19
I 100% would give up my week away with Liz Hurley to see United drop 😂🙏.

1

01 Nov 2026 11:22:09
Let's have a 'both' option.

2

01 Nov 2026 11:23:13
Duffer I only want to read about Liverpool on here that's my point entirely 🙄.

0

01 Nov 2026 12:05:55
Well here is another post that mentions "they who shall not be named".MANCHESTER UNITED..

Its a football site. lets try not be so ignorant as to think we should only talk about us.

Maybe try not visiting those media websites if it makes you that unhappy.

0

31 Oct 2026 18:20:11
Hi Ed's, just a quick question. Say we beat Arsenal tomorrow and continue going well and close to the top. Do you think this might make winter transfer window more important. If we are still in all 4 competitions in Jan, I personally think we should try and get a bit of business done, just to bolster the squad.

I know we don't normally shop in this window but it might make sense if we are doing well.

0

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - I would expect it to make a difference, but that won't change the difficulty in recruiting top class players in the January window. It is mostly players that are not playing well or at all, that are looking to move in January. So you are taking a bigger risk or paying a premium usually to buy mid-season.}

3

31 Oct 2026 19:40:35
Still think camara will sign.

2

31 Oct 2026 19:06:34
Any rumours on the new owners Ed001? Timing of that could determine January/Summer windows

They'll want to make a few statements that's for sure.

0

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - not that I know of. They will need to become full owners first. These sales can take a long time.

1

31 Oct 2026 21:45:18
If the sale does go through is there any plans or chance of increasing the stadium capacity?

1

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - there is plans for that anyway, FSG were trying to work with the council on renewing the infrastructure of the area to allow a larger capacity, as we are maxed out as things stand. And that is why they are looking to sell now, as it is going to be a long haul to get it done. Especially now it is not as easy as to drop a brown envelope on blue Joe's desk to get what you want.}

1

31 Oct 2026 22:14:45
Ecogsi2, this has been discussed many times. As it stands the stadium capacity has been maxed out. The only scope is to develop the Sir Kenny Stand, which would, in the first instance, entail the compulsory purchase of the properties immediately behind the stand.

In addition, to go above the current capacity would also entail a new train station being built to cope with transporting the additional supporters to and from the area. In brief, it's not going to happen any time soon.

3

31 Oct 2026 23:09:25
Like you say @Rome, it's a wider issue for the community and the need to overhaul community infrastructure, not least in terms of transport. Until recently I would have thought it might not happen in my lifetime but with the possibility of the Bhatia consortium buying out FSG I think the possibility of redevelopment for the area might not be as far fetched.

1

31 Oct 2026 23:23:24
Rome1997! - this is point. With nearly infinite cash and I would imagine a view to grow the "business" a circa 70000 capacity stadium and regeneration to the area is a no brainer. Not only for the owners but also for council to ride the cash injection?

0

01 Nov 2026 07:06:16
Would the introduction of the glider buses mean that a new rail station wasn't the hurdle that it may have been in the past? I thought it was seen as a cheaper way around the mass transit ceiling imposed on Anfiels's capacity?

0

01 Nov 2026 07:54:26
I think an area we are strong in is not over-reacting to the moment. Well, that was until the summer of '25 and we decided we'll live life to the max lol.

0

01 Nov 2026 08:23:47
Interesting that any increase to capacity is predicated on improved transport links etc, yet such links seem to have been an afterthought for Everton's stadium?

0

01 Nov 2026 09:08:32
Nah, @Avit, a lot of the lads canoe it to the Everton matches these days and a few of them swim across from Birkenhead.

1

01 Nov 2026 08:43:35
Thanks Ed.

31 Oct 2026 15:28:17
If results stay the same, win tomorrow and we're 3 points off the top 🙂.

3

31 Oct 2026 16:21:57
I hope city will not be awarded the title this year even if they remain top on points after the end of 38 games. Surely, the appeal wouldn't drag on this long. So, I think the competition is with Arsenal.

2

31 Oct 2026 16:54:04
A win tomorrow would be huge.

5

31 Oct 2026 17:09:00
Always a good day when the Mancs and the Cheats lose, ain't it?

As for us, a win tmrw would be huge for us, the tam and the manager moving forward because that would validate all the good work and efforts all concerned have put in so far.

4

31 Oct 2026 17:29:25
Brighton result last week was a great result given they have beat both city and Arsenal. Win is huge tomorrow I just hope we don't show too much respect. They are certainly beatable.

5

31 Oct 2026 20:13:24
Despite our roaring start to last season we have the same number of points at this stage and we lost our 9th game.

Last season we were on an obvious downturn were as this season we're gaining momentum.

4

31 Oct 2026 23:13:06
@LFCDas, the investigation covered the period 2913 to 2018. If they win the League this season there is no reason for them not to get the trophy - well at least until the 2019 - 2027 investigation starts 😉.

0

01 Nov 2026 01:36:13
So they worked backwards from 2913 😳😳.

1

01 Nov 2026 07:55:37
WDW - I'm sure their historic levels of cheating will still reap benefits from them in 2913 if the appeal wins.!

0

01 Nov 2026 08:26:49
I think WDW knows more than he's letting on as to the date when the appeal will finish!

1

01 Nov 2026 09:09:55
My real name is John Connor (said in Arnie's voice).
