Ed002, have Liverpool approached Palace regarding Doucoure or have they spoken with his agent at time point?
Thank you.

Shayan

{Ed002's Note - Certainly with his agent.}

1.) 17 Aug 2023 10:16:32
Hopefully we weren't put off by what will be a big sum! Endo and Doucoure sounds really good!

2.) 17 Aug 2023 10:26:21
Klopp has lots of credit in the bank and hasn’t let us down yet and if players choose another club then so be it! Trust in Klopp.

3.) 17 Aug 2023 11:42:13
Id say Klopp let us down in 20/ 21 and 22/ 23 he has credit in the bank of course but it doesn’t last forever. Time to deliver this season.

4.) 17 Aug 2023 13:27:29
OneKiss Klopp did not let us down we just had average seasons. It happens, there doesn’t always have to be someone to blame.

5.) 17 Aug 2023 13:34:53
Well said BP.

6.) 17 Aug 2023 13:39:08
Hi Ed02 do you see us getting someone like a Doucouré now we have Endó.

{Ed002's Note - I have answered this Tom.}

7.) 17 Aug 2023 13:48:51
Klopp has been disastrous the last 3 seasons albeit winning some silverware.
Constant tapping up, understandable but when his mother past away we were in dire form. Refused to play players in their positions had hendo in defence at one point.
Childish behaviour towards refs and other officials.
Refused to buy midfielders last season when everyone knew we needed at least one to help out.
For me his credit ran dry last season. I for one really hope he goes end of the season getting us in champions league.
Hopefully he can walk away with his rep in tact. If we carry on like last season, he will go with a tarnished rep and understandably so.

8.) 17 Aug 2023 14:23:43
Crikey you talk a lot of crap!

How about just post when you've got something positive to say!?

9.) 17 Aug 2023 14:13:45
Sorry Ed02 I must have missed your response. Unless it was the one about a versatile midfielder which I guess is more a Gravenberch type.

10.) 17 Aug 2023 20:21:15
Ignore the troll 2shoes. It tries every day to try stay relevant.

11.) 17 Aug 2023 22:29:24
stopped reading that reply after the first line. - Klopp has been disastrous the last 3 seasons albeit winning some silverware

lol can we get any more entitled.

12.) 18 Aug 2023 12:15:40
Fair point faith - I had a good chuckle at that first line. Surely winning some silverware is the very definition of not being disastrous ?.

14 Aug 2023 07:26:41
Ed002, Seeing as we have decent funds and are willing to spend it, if we think the player is worth it, do you think Tchouaméni. or Valverde would be realistic options, considering RM need to raise funds for Mbappe?
Thank you.

Shayan

{Ed002's Note - I think Valverde would be a great addition on top of a Lavia or Sangare. Gravenberch would be less than half the price through.}

1.) 14 Aug 2023 10:48:59
Thank you for the reply Ed. Valverde would be amazing along with Lavia. I haven't seen Sangare play so wouldn't know anything about him. Hopefully we try and go for Valverde, even though it will be difficult to convince him to leave RM.

2.) 14 Aug 2023 10:56:12
Would Valverde be interested in us ed02?

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea.}

3.) 14 Aug 2023 11:42:58
No. Valverde would not be interested.

11 Aug 2023 12:16:43
According to reports Caicedo has informed Liverpool that he only wishes to join Chelsea. Can Ed002 confirm this?
Thank you.

Shayan

{Ed002's Note - You need to read the posts. I am not going to try and give blow-by-blow updates. I have explained his views on where he wants to move to and what happened with Chelsea this morning.}

1.) 11 Aug 2023 12:28:27
Oh goody, Lavia going to cost us £80m now then.

2.) 11 Aug 2023 12:31:11
Fair play to him. If he doesn’t want to play for Liverpool then it’s all good.
Now let’s try get someone else ??.

3.) 11 Aug 2023 12:35:11
Annoying because he would have been perfect but I agree, let's get someone else. Not sure who though. Lavia feels like it would be a disappointing signing now but better than no-one.

4.) 11 Aug 2023 12:38:21
Perhaps I’m on my own here, but I don’t think Caicedo is that much better than Lavia anyway. Certainly not twice the player and certainly not anywhere near good enough for us to beg him to join.

5.) 11 Aug 2023 12:48:46
If there's any truth in this then we need to walk away now. I'd be happier using that £110m to get a cheaper DM and a CB.

6.) 11 Aug 2023 12:50:03
Wouldn't liverpool have spoken to caicedo's reps to see if the player would like to join the club before making a bid?

{Ed002's Note - I am sure they would have.}

7.) 11 Aug 2023 12:55:36
Brilliant player Caicedo. I got really excited about the prospect of our midfield but what can you do.

This debacle probably won't help with future negotiations.

Hopefully Lavia's price stays the same and we get the deal done. I really like the kid and he wants to play for us. And is homegrown. 50 million is a more than fair price. 50 should be a take it or leave it offer.

If Southampton want more. Best of luck. Their market is slightly smaller now Chelsea have paid 110m. We should walk away at a higher price than 50.

8.) 11 Aug 2023 13:09:56
Ed02 do you still think that Chelsea are not going to pay over 100 million? They seem quite confident.

{Ed002's Note - RTFP.}

9.) 11 Aug 2023 13:33:11
Just wait guys. Nobody knows what is going on apart from we have agreed a deal.

I can’t see us going to all that trouble if he didn’t want to come so let’s just wait and see how it pans out before negativity kicks in again.

10.) 11 Aug 2023 13:34:20
Ed002, I did read the earlier posts where you mentioned that MC eventually wants to move to RM and that he did say he could not turn down Chelsea. But I can't find the part regarding what happened with Chelsea this morning. If it's not too much trouble can you explain it again or maybe point to where you mentioned it?
Thank you.

{Ed002's Note - His agent spoke with them this morning to say his client still wants to move to Chelsea and to ask if they can do something with Brighton - and they are pondering the matter.}

11.) 11 Aug 2023 13:58:17
If Caceido does not want to move to us then fine - move on.

Spend less and get both Lavia and Gravenberch for a combined £80m or so.

12.) 11 Aug 2023 14:59:20
Why does LFC want to spend 111 million (reportedly) on a player who wants to go to another club?

Bizarre.

13.) 11 Aug 2023 15:26:22
My concern is wether we were to sign Lavia or Caceido where would that leave Bajectic who is better than both of them. Still think strengthening our defense should be priority.

19 May 2022 20:07:58
If Salah leaves, have we had a look at Antony from Ajax?

Shayan

{Ed002's Note - Try searching.}

1.) 19 May 2022 20:20:06
Sorry ed. I did have a look before asking but probably missed it. Looked again and found it. Thank you.

2.) 20 May 2022 08:23:46
I expect Ten Hag will, if given money, will possibly suggest the pick of Ajax's players, including Antony.

3.) 20 May 2022 10:25:58
Can’t see United having a summer spend like they did last year without champions league football. United aren’t an attractive proposition is they’re a club in almost permanent transition and aren’t actually competing.

4.) 20 May 2022 12:05:28
Sorry VVVV I have to disagree. Certain clubs will always be attractive to players. Man United being one of them. They may not get the elite players they seem but they're a huge club and with a new manager they will be in contention for a top 4 place next yr.

5.) 20 May 2022 17:14:29
United are still the one of the richest club in the world. Certainly deeper pockets than us at Liverpool. All they need is proper structure. I am happy the kids at united went for ten haag and not someone like conte, simeone or price tuchel out.
Ten haag won't do much. United is to big a jump for him and he has way of playing football that won't work at united no matter who he signs.

6.) 20 May 2022 18:03:07
Possible similarities between United now and Liverpool before Klopp.

As you say, will depend on establishing a unifying structure and implement a consistent style of play, plus bringing in right players to do this (plus improving fitness, team spirit, etc etc)

So much for ETH to do but, as Klopp has shown, giants can be revived agsin.

7.) 20 May 2022 20:54:59
Am not sure Utd will have more money than us with the way things are going. By all accounts there training ground is years behind the top teams old Trafford is in a right State. There is a good chance they will be playing in the Europa conference next season as I can’t see them beating Palace. This new age of fans are very fickle so they won’t sell the shirts they would when there doing well and they must have a massive wage bill not contend with.
I don’t see them challenging for top 4 the top 3 will be the same spurs will get better under Conte and Newcastle will come up faster than Utd without all the baggage Utd have.

8.) 21 May 2022 08:09:21
I love seeing old toilet in the doldrums.

9.) 21 May 2022 19:44:52
So do I. We spent years where they are now, it's great that the shoe is on the other foot!
Long may it continue, but it will end some day.

19 Jul 2018 22:00:18
Alisson confirmed!
Get in!

Shayan

1.) 19 Jul 2018 22:04:50
Great news. Fekir Next!

2.) 19 Jul 2018 22:05:24
Yep, got him!

Roll on the new season!

3.) 19 Jul 2018 22:10:21
Is he really that good.

4.) 19 Jul 2018 22:12:42
Get in, I'm over the moon.

5.) 19 Jul 2018 22:45:18
Just wow lfc! 2 months ago we dreamt Oblak or Alisson. We got Alisson and not Butland, Navas or the geezer we can’t spell from Barcelona.

6.) 19 Jul 2018 23:34:03
His distribution looks to be better than even edersons! Can't wait to see him in action.

7.) 20 Jul 2018 08:32:29
What a team/ squad Jurgen has built, frightening.

8.) 20 Jul 2018 10:00:27
Are we likely to still buy a attacking mid? If so who are we looking at?

9.) 20 Jul 2018 10:57:41
We have the spine of a really useful team now, first time in a while. Brilliant! but we have to win something now.

10.) 20 Jul 2018 13:19:30
Mane the new 10. Guess that's goodbye Fekir.

11.) 20 Jul 2018 15:06:05
The Ox injury must have freaked the LFC people when they dealt with Fekir's medical report.

{Ed002's Note - Obviously not.}

12.) 20 Jul 2018 15:14:22
Red Reaper, its spelled Cillessen but pronounced Silly Season.

13.) 20 Jul 2018 15:27:12
Serious question, was Pederson a sought after keeper before City signed him? I'd never heard of him to be honest!

14.) 21 Jul 2018 16:15:17
That's because his name is Ederson. Not Pederson.

{Ed002's Note - To answer the previous question, Ederson was very sought after.}

15.) 22 Jul 2018 05:35:50
ye glad you deciphered the predictive txt ed2!
i'd never heard of him before city signed him!

Ed001, who would you now go for considering we'll most probably miss out on MC and Lavia?

Shayan

{Ed001's Note - Doucoure would probably be the next best option. Though Florentino Luis and maybe Koopmeiners are probably worth a look at. Zubimendi might be an option too. Or possibly asking Madrid about Tchouameni as they need to raise funds for Mbappe?}

1.) 12 Aug 2023 10:41:28
You think Palace is open to sell him Ed? Zubimendi remind me of Alonso, not the way they play because I've never seen him play but because of Sociedad link. You really ok with Tchouameni Ed? He is probably the best option out of all out there even including MC and Lavia. But he has reject us once before.

{Ed001's Note - Palace will sell if the offer is high enough I am sure.

He rejected us to go to Madrid but it has not worked out, no harm in asking if he is ready to make another step in his career to try and restart it.}

2.) 12 Aug 2023 11:02:33
I like the look of Yusuf Fofana too ed. And even though I don't quite see it myself, my Spanish buddies think think we should be all over Valverde to play DM. They think he can be an outstanding DM. Haven't seen enough of him in that position to make that kind of a call and seems an odd one but maybe. Thuram could be developed there.

Add to all the options, I also personally have a hunch Chelsea pull out of Lavia deal after Caicedo if they get him.

Stand the ground until Chelsea out in their improved offer and the asses quickly and go hard for next target.

I hope in the meantime we are working hard on Ignacio deal. Would love him and we still need a CB.

{Ed002's Note - Youssouf Fofana (CM/DM) An apprach from Crystal Palace was rejected by Monaco who told them they will be negotiating a new contract. A potential Houssem Aouar replacement for Lyon. Chelsea have strong ties with Monaco and the clubs have discussed him but he is not first choice for Chelsea. Nottingham Forest interest was turned away with a bid being rejected. West Ham have now replaced Rice so there interest has likely gone unless they lose Soucek or plan to use him exclusively as a CM player. I am not aware of Liverpool interest. Wages might be an issue for some clubs.

Federico Valverde (CM) Real Madrid are ideally not looking to sell the player, previously of interest to Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Manchester United, as they expect him to settle in as a regular as Modric and Kroos are coming to the end of their RM careers. That was explained to Chelsea who enquired when discussing another player. Manchester City have sent scouts to look at him as they look to add to their Central Midfield options. Liverpool interest could return after losing out on Bellingham but right now they seem to have other targets. Player does not want to move on but perhaps an option for Real Madrid to look into selling if they want to push for Mbappe this summer - so he could well leave this summer.

Why would Chelsea walk away from the Lavia agreement?}

3.) 12 Aug 2023 11:13:37
Agreed, start by knocking on RM’s door they are stacked in midfield.

4.) 12 Aug 2023 12:12:01
Ed002, I doubt Chelsea will walk away from Lavia, but if (and it’s a big if! ) we are able to present an acceptable bid to Southampton, I would presume that Lavia would prefer to come to us and have more chances of starts than be behind Caicedo and Enzo at Chelsea, especially as Chelsea don’t have Europe this season and therefore lack those additional games.

Just my opinion, though.

{Ed002's Note - There is nothing to stop Liverpool making an offer for Lavia.}

5.) 12 Aug 2023 13:06:00
Manu Kone is presumably still available and I think has recovered from his injury he got in the U21 Euros. He’d still be a good option if we can’t get Caicedo or Lavia.

6.) 12 Aug 2023 13:06:00
Manu Kone is presumably still available and I think has recovered from his injury he got in the U21 Euros. He’d still be a good option if we can’t get Caicedo or Lavia.

7.) 12 Aug 2023 16:41:19
I’m calling this the American stand off.

8.) 12 Aug 2023 18:21:23
Dhfc, indeed. Both owners are MLB team owners so this may have gotten personal.

As for the options we can get, their out there as we can see and we can get Andre in Jan but hopefully, we can get a Doucoure from Palace cos we looked at him and has better value that Caicedo, imo.

15 May 2022 14:25:07
Westham just scored!

Shayan

1.) 15 May 2022 14:45:51
TWICE.

2.) 15 May 2022 14:46:54
Twice!

3.) 15 May 2022 14:49:50
It was that lad Bowen. Super, marvellous, you can’t beat a bit of bully! (For the older heads out there)

18 Mar 2022 11:21:56
Benfica it is!
The best possible draw!

Shayan

1.) 18 Mar 2022 11:44:35
A closer look at Darwin Nunez.

2.) 18 Mar 2022 13:10:52
Don't rule out Simao being influential again especially if he is still chasing a move to Anfield and looking to impress.

18 Dec 2021 06:23:03
What is with this love affair with Man city. Everywhere I see, CIty will win the title, how Pep and his team are so magnificent and how Liverpool have no chance at the title. We are so reliant on Salah for the goals and still have Mane and Jota in the top 5 goal scorers. We have scored more goals than city and have a better goal difference. They are just ONE point ahead of us. Can someone tell me what I am missing?

Shayan

{Ed014's Note - simply I guess that they’re a great team with a top manager and as previously will give you a run for your money.

What of that are you not getting/liking. You just sound bitter! 🤷‍♂️

1.) 18 Dec 2021 08:46:23
It will be City or Liverpool that win the title - FACT
The squad depth gives City an advantage which is why 8/ 10 pundits will say City over Liverpool, it just logical.
However, write off the reds at your peril, I think Klopp is the better manager personally.

2.) 18 Dec 2021 09:47:33
Other fans seem to dislike LFC fans (in football terms) due to their so called arrogance. A lot of my mates who support different clubs will always support whoever Liverpool are against. Does it bother me? Nope not 1 single bit. I think if we gave a little bit more credit to others from our ivory towers as well as support our great club I'm sure that mind turn the tide a little. But a lot of other fans believe every other club, manager and player is crap outside of LFC.

3.) 18 Dec 2021 09:57:20
Should have added other pundits and people in media seem to have similar opinion also.

4.) 18 Dec 2021 10:04:49
The answer is simple, squad depth, C.V. and AFCON. City are favourites and it would be a huge achievement to win this season but hopefully we can make a fight of it to the end.

5.) 18 Dec 2021 10:59:33
I don't get why you get so upset about someone giving their opinion? Why worry about something you can't control. Just relax and remember opinions are like ar*eholes and everyone has one.

6.) 18 Dec 2021 11:35:23
Personally I think Liverpool are a unique club as are the fans. We have a great history which every club and fans (bar one) are jealous of. More than that is at the games we have a great togetherness as fans, great songs, tremendous support for the team even when things go tits up. We don't boo the team or walk out after 17 minutes and we also occasionally applaud the other team when the beat us. In my opinion, no club comes close and they know it. It might sound arrogant and honestly I'm not trying to be but its just how I believe the ethos of this great club is and should be.

7.) 18 Dec 2021 12:07:46
Shayan, I have not heard one fan of any team or any pundit saying Liverpool have no chance of winning the league. I agree most feel City will win because as mentioned above The City squad is deeper and the AFCON. But Everyone thinks it will be close. We need to keep our main players fit. And if we can we should get a very large points total.

8.) 18 Dec 2021 10:48:05
Ed014, I am not bitter at all. You need to re read what I have written. Don't try to make it out to be something its not. Not once have I said that they are not a great team. I did however ask why are Liverpool being written off.

{Ed014's Note - no need to re read it, it’s what it sounded like to me and I’ve not seen anyone write Liverpool off, that would be ridiculous!

I’m not making it out to be anything other than exactly what it is.

9.) 18 Dec 2021 17:43:27
OP, it is normal for majority of pundits to think City are favourites. They have won 3 of the last 4 titles on show so what were you expecting? It is what it is. It is up to us to put a sledge hammer to that narrative by you know, winning the darn thing. Proving them wrong is the only way to shut the doubters up.

JK23, I am not interested in whatever any rival fan or pundit thinks about us as a club or as fans. They don’t want what is best for us so why bother? And they can support whoever we play against as that is their right. Credit can be given to other teams if I think I as an LFC fan think they deserve it BUT even after all we have achieved, many rival fans are still sore about us regardless of how deferential you are.

If rival fans think we are arrogant fans then, so be it. No amount of humility shown to them or credit given to them is going to change that cos sometimes, people believe what they believe and it’s not going to matter whatever you do.

10.) 18 Dec 2021 21:31:47
I thought it would be interesting to see if there is a correlation between the size of the fanbase (and popularity) of the top six, with the way they are reported on, commented on and analyzed. So I did some snooping around on Google.

As I suspected, Liverpool is the club with the highest number of fans and supporters in the UK, closely followed by ManU (hello Ed025, from the true people's club 😁) . But if you take total support (global following included) then we fall to third place behind ManU (1st) and Chelsea (2nd) . Several websites had the same positions, even though their numbers were different. The only thing I got out of this was that ManU and Chelsea have been extremely smart in their international marketing. ManU is present in 72 countries with a fanbase that is easily 50% larger than ours. Chelsea have sucked every drop out of the Mourinho years and titles won since then, to get a huge fanbase (they only have 6 titles against our 19, or Arsenal's 13 titles, how on Earth can they be more popular? ) . We are simply playing catch up (but getting better it seems.

So how does it affect the way we are seen and portrayed by the TV media? I think it does to a certain extent. Unless we are steamrolling over everyone as we did in 2019, I think those producers who speak into the pundits earpieces and direct their comments, are very much aware of who is watching and where those eyeballs are located down to a T. That explains why OGS has been center of all attention for 3 years despite being a manager who was mismanaging and clearly out of his depth. Or how Tuchel was the great Messiah in the first 10 games, despite nobody thinking too much of him in Germany or France (his previous clubs) . I do a lot of reading on the internet about football. And aside from Salah's exploits or ref. and VAR decisions in our favor, everything else Liverpool, seems a tad downplayed sometimes.

I'm not screaming conspiracy of any sort, over here. Nor am I bitter in any shape or form. Just saying that there are probably or perhaps biases out there, and which to me, are perfectly natural.

11.) 19 Dec 2021 16:04:16
Brilliant read, ArAy1969. You make valid points. Today’s journalists are agenda driven so it depends on who they want to pull down and build up on a day to day basis for the most part. It’s all about clicks and ratings so downplaying our exploits gets our fans riled up and the clicks and views hence, ratings soar. This applies to almost any scenario depending on what the agenda for the day or week is.

Eds, any updates on Salah's contract?

Shayan

{Ed0666's Note - yeh their binding it at the moment at Office Depot.

Ed666, Wasn't Fedex the ones handling the package?

2.) 08 Dec 2021 20:06:34
I think I saw Jurgen say that they are going for an afternoon tea at the Adelphi next Tuesday and that they have agreed on scones.

I know this might be a stupid question, but are Chelsea actively trying to put a bid together for MC in excess of what Liverpool have agreed with Brighton. Also, will the fact that we’ve offered a sell on clause to Brighton affect their offer in anyway?
Thank you.

Shayan

{Ed002's Note - I have explained what they are looking at.}

I could care less if Salah leaves or stays. Until we have Klopp we have nothing to worry about. I have faith in Klopp and any player he brings in. Our recruitment has been fantastic over the last few year. Barring Naby we've not made one poor big money signing imo. So, I trust Klopp and his team to find a suitable replacement for Mo, if he does decide to leave.

I really hope we start with Bradley, because he's a better one on defender with Trent. He did brilliantly against Martinelli in the FA cup game when he came on. He also seems to be full of confidence and is playing really well. No point in dropping him against Arsenal. May be start with Trent against Burnley where he won't have to defend as much and get upto speed.
