With all the rubbish that is being said about, I was wondering Ed002, if you could give us any sort of update on our transfer targets?
Thank you.

{Ed002's Note - I am travelling right now so it is not possible to do too much. Andrew Robertson is certainly of interest.}

1.) 01 Jun 2017 15:16:48

2.) 01 Jun 2017 15:36:51
wow that's refreshing.

3.) 01 Jun 2017 16:18:27
Robertson reminds me of a younger version of alonso from Chelsea.

4.) 01 Jun 2017 16:47:57
Alonsos left nut.

07 Jul 2014 20:19:03
Ed's already read the posts and used the search function but haven't found anything new. so could u please tell me what the current situation regarding rojo is. are we interested and who all are intrested in him?

{Ed002's Note - Back burner.}

28 May 2014 05:05:36
Eds are Soton interested in any of our players who we can use in the lallana deal?

{Ed001's Note - yes, they have interest in Coutinho. Depends on who else they lose this summer as to whether they might show interest elsewhere too, such as Enrique.}

1.) 28 May 2014 08:15:06
Enrique as a replacement for Shaw in part-exchange for one of theirs would be fine. The only 'interest' they can have in Coutinho though, is in watching him play for Liverpool on Tuesday & Wednesday nights.

2.) Surely if we are to add depth we wouldn't part with coutinho? Eds?

3.) We wouldn't let them have Coutinho, would we Ed?

{Ed001's Note - I don't expect it to happen, no. Nothing is ever 100% certain like, but I would rate that as extremely low in the possibility stakes right now.}

12 Jun 2013 09:38:06
Ed's I have already read the posts but found nothing. so can u please tell me if there are any updates in our pursuit of henrikh mkhitaryan?
Would really appreciate it!
Thanks! {Ed001's Note - there is nothing new to say.}

01 Jun 2013 18:51:16
Ed's would jovetic or mario gomez be viable options in case suarez does leave? {Ed002's Note - Right now no. Gomez is certainly looking for a move to England but with no takers yet is looking at Italy.}

1.) He won't come unless we get CL

2.) Gomez has the worst first touch I have ever seen, he can put a ball in the net do

3.) I think if/when we sell suarez we would be 100% interested in Gomez

we tried to sign him two or three windows.

say Suarez goes for £47m

if we can get Gomez for £21m, Muriel for £17m & Aspas for £8m would be good. !

4.) Gomez off to Napoli

5.) We could definetly get gomez

A question for ed001, if coutinho leaves and it looks like it will, would you target a player specifically to replace him or would you alter the team in some way, as in playing firmino deeper and starting an out an out striker.
Also, seeing as we made the same mistakes yesterday as we've been making for so long, what would you have done, buy a new CB or make changes to the way we play or both?
Thank you.

{Ed001's Note - no replacement for Couts out there. We need both changes to the way we play and players in the team.}

1.) 13 Aug 2017 16:50:04
I agree ed001. A lot of people have been saying we need a holding midfielder who sits in front of the back 4. I think that's right, I think Klopp needs to swallow his pride and give it a try.
Last time we had a good defensive midfielder breaking up attacks was with Mascherano and we had a really solid defence. Granted we had Carra and Reina at the back, but I think a defensive midfielder is needed now. Who should that be? I've no idea but Carvallho is available.

{Ed001's Note - Obiang?}

2.) 13 Aug 2017 20:53:14
Agreed Ron, felt we needed a holding MF for years! Carvalho would be decent, Kimmich (although he won't be leaving Bayern), Diawara? Krychowiak.

12 Aug 2017 09:14:42
I don't understand all the Coutinho hate. He wants to move to Barca. This was well known. He has done nothing to upset the club or has been disrespectful in any way. Yes, the timing of the transfer request could have been better. That is his only fault nothing more. Barcelona are a bigger club than us right now. They win trophies and phil wants to do that. Nothing wrong in that. Not just footballers, people in general want what is best for the and right now Barcelona is better for phil if he wants to win trophies.
So, we should set a price and if Barcelona pay it then we shouldn't stand in coutinho's way.
Yes we will have to look for a replacement for phil but I'm sure with the amount we'll get for him, we can find a suitable replacement.

1.) 12 Aug 2017 09:36:59
He wants to go. We don't want him to go. He's got a contract with us. Why should we let him go if we're not finished with him? We don't HAVE to. If he'd carry on with his performance if he stayed then make him stay. Hard to judge what sort of person he'd be though being forced to stay. Maybe this so called nice guy persona would disappear and we'd have a troubled player at the club. It's a tough one but all this talk of, it's every South American's dream to play for Barcelona does my head in. so what? You don't alway get what you want in life. I don't feel sorry for him £150k a week. I'd catch a train from west wales to train with Liverpool every day for that. I don't feel sorry for him.

2.) 12 Aug 2017 09:47:03
I think he's now been disrespectful to the manager, if I'm honest. Why has he gone out and said there's been problems between them for 6 months. He's also dragged gerards name into it, whom I would suspect isn't too happy about that.

3.) 12 Aug 2017 10:24:08
I don't want a player who has handed in a transfer request.
A transfer request means a player is not committed to the club and wants to leave. We should do what is best for LFC and that is get the best deal and move on. God forbid Coutinho is made to stay, performs poorly, disrupts the team spirit gets a terrible injury and never recovers his peak form. Who would force him to stay then?

The sensible thing is to let him leave and move on.

With hindsight who would have made Torres stay? Plenty would have on the day but his form nosedived and he never rediscovered it.

4.) 12 Aug 2017 10:50:19
Can only let him go if Barcelona pay what we want for him though.

11 Aug 2017 09:16:04
Away from all the transfer talk, what is everyone's opinion about the new penalty system, ABBA?

{Ed001's Note - oh Mamma Mia, not this again. It's the Name of the Game though, I saw it in the Mirror, but it does make a change, as usually the talk is just Money, Money, Money, but I Have a Dream, that the Winner Takes it All.

I am going to stop now sorry! I think the manflu I have is affecting my brain....}

1.) 11 Aug 2017 09:31:11
You don't seem keen ed 01
Perhaps you should take a chance.

Don't go wasting your emotions on it though.

{Ed001's Note - I no longer have the search page up with the list of their song titles so I have no idea if they are ABBA songs or not? Sorry I have no idea about ABBA's music at all. Would need one of the oldies like Ed025 or Ed007 for that.}

2.) 11 Aug 2017 09:34:29
I am glad u finished ed I was about to send out an SOS for you.

{Ed001's Note - oh god don't send those morons after me! They wouldn't have time anyway, they are far too busy trying to claim to speak for all LFC fans, even though they have never spoken for me and never will.}

3.) 11 Aug 2017 09:37:52
The new Erasure version is decent.

Each player has to jump on his teammates back. dribble and shoot. goal.

Trialled in Brazil and the boys loved it.

4.) 11 Aug 2017 09:44:20
I don't think it was a problem that needed fixing really
We all love a good tense penalty shootout.

5.) 11 Aug 2017 10:05:15
Which ever way you do them, the winner takes it all.

6.) 11 Aug 2017 09:52:30
They were ed. I promise.
Though next time I see you quoting stuff I'm going to post replies with nothing to do with it to catch you out.

{Ed001's Note - just checking, as people do tend to get a bit confused.}

10 Aug 2017 19:19:04
A question for everyone, if you had a choice between
(a) having phil for this season (him leaving in the next summer window) and not getting keita, or
(b) Phil going to Barcelona in this window and getting keita
Which would you chose?

1.) 10 Aug 2017 19:39:04
Gotta be keep Coutinho as wa don't know how Keita would settle, where as we know already what Coutinho can do. I doubt he would be a sulker if he stayed, he's professional enough to get on with his job.

2.) 10 Aug 2017 19:34:05
keep pipco, barce won't come back next year so we keep him, no way should we sell him unless he forces our hand.

3.) 10 Aug 2017 19:56:01
(A) rather he stayed and moved next year as i think we would need time to fill his boots. which will be hard to do anyway. also not to sure about kieta as iv only heard of him since we were interested. all happening to fast for my liking as with Barcelona and neymar.

4.) 10 Aug 2017 19:59:43
Hard question bruv. Tempting to choose Phil. But. I still think Barcelona are going to be interested in signing a player of coutinios quality whether they need replacement or not. This year, next year, whenever. Players like him don't come along often and if you think if we manage to keep him this year then it's all over regarding Phil and there will be no more big money offers for him again you are deluded. Psg probably go for him next yr if no one else does.

For that reason I'd take kieta on a five year deal now.

Let me be clear. I ghink Phil is the better player and would rather have him in my team but would rather have z player who is dying to play for us than one who has had his head turned. That said, coutinio has behaved impeccably over this saga and has endeared him to me even more.

Tough question.

5.) 10 Aug 2017 22:48:26
Keep phil no question.

6.) 10 Aug 2017 23:51:49
Berg. The question was keep Phil for one more year. If keeping him another year means we miss out on kieta in this hypothetical question the I'd rather have a brilliant player (kieta) ;on a five yr contract than have Phil on a one year contract essentially.

Would you take Phil for one more year if it means missing out on kieta. For good.

I'd rather have both and I think that is a possibility now. If we do well this year we could well keep coutinio for good.

I don't know why I'm arguing, it is a tough question.

7.) 15 Aug 2017 22:43:16
Ha ha ha super i would have kept for coutino for a year you know what your working with kieta would be good but beddi g in would he work in the prem e. t. c and you have a year to identify a replacment plus couts has 5 years on his contract which as we now know means diddly squat sorry for late reply o ly just read this.

10 Aug 2017 11:22:23
A question for ED002, with our poor management of players and with the tapping up of multiple players including a young 13 year old kid, our action resulting in significant hardship for the kid and his family, what steps would you suggest the club take in order to prevent such disgraceful behaviour from happening again?
Also, it almost always happens that agents overstep their boundaries, what line of action should be taken to prevent it.
Thank you.

{Ed002's Note - The club needs to clean up its act and stop behaving like this. In the case of the illegal approaches it needs to stop now. In terms of the lkids the club needs to make changes right away and bring in someone to oversee recruitment and to make sure the rules are followed.

In terms of agents/intermediaries overstepping the mark, there has been a major clampdown but you will never get riud of it completely. Most clubs can generally live with how it is. There was talk about a three strike system but that does not address the "super agent" situation. Clubs also want to self-regulate more and may get that latitude if the bahave responsibly.}

1.) 10 Aug 2017 12:13:14
Ed002 do most of the clubs have someone to oversee recruitment?
And if so why haven't LFC brought in someone?
Which club would you suggest as a model club with regards to recruitment activities.
And I also think the FA should impose harsh punishments, like bans and heft fines and penalties for such behaviour, which may act as a deterrent for all the clubs in the future.

{Ed002's Note - The club Secretary at all clubs is responsible for ensure compliance with regulations (ensuing banned players are not played, ensuring the strict rules for kids are followed and ensuring that the club does not abuse transfer rules etc.). Some clubs additionally use the Director of Football or Sporting Director role to oversee all transfers across the club, others don't. I wouldn't want to call out any one particular side as being a role model for others, but if I did it would likely be a German or Dutch side.}

2.) 10 Aug 2017 12:13:33
Are we allowed to name and shame these two individuals on here who brought this about? Don't want to cause any undue hassle.

{Ed002's Note - No we going to get in to that, particularly given the pending court case.}

3.) 10 Aug 2017 12:15:23
i think they should start by clearing the family's debt.

{Ed002's Note - It is unfortunately not as simple as that.}

4.) 10 Aug 2017 12:27:38
No problem, that's understandable but people can easily do a quick search on the good old interweb and they can see for themselves. Can I become a Tranmere fan instead? Are there surgeries that can assist me with this type of transformation? Fooook me, this has messed my head right up today ha!

5.) 10 Aug 2017 12:29:18
STEP 1) stop doing it

STEP 2) don't do it again

STEP 3) repeat steps 1 and 2.

6.) 10 Aug 2017 12:59:16
Enough of the witch hunts. 'Naming and shaming' why? So we can fuel more hate towards the club. Jesus Christ. As 87 red has said it's a simple process to clean up our act.

7.) 10 Aug 2017 13:30:01
Cool down Swishcleaner, how would naming and shaming fuel more hate towards the CLUB? If anything it would take the emphasis off of the club and place it firmly at the feet of the INDIVIDUALS who caused this mess. We were clearly told we can't do it anyway. It's very simple, you should never be allowed to muck around with a kid's life - end of!

8.) 10 Aug 2017 13:57:51
Ed I understand the club can't pay the families debts, but couldn't the premier league just fine us and that money, va the PL be then given to the parents?

{Ed002's Note - The rules don't allow for anything like that. The family are taking Liverpool to court and Liverpool are contesting it and that is increasing their debt significantly.}

9.) 10 Aug 2017 15:34:45
Olrish, I think there is enough hate towards most of our playing squad, throw in FSG hate for various reasons and even some towards klopp . Do we really need to add more To that!?

10.) 10 Aug 2017 18:11:53
Haters going to hate no matter what you say or do sadly.
We're not allowed to name the individuals involved, this has been made clear and not once have I attempted to do so. but just imagine if this was your life or your kid's life that these idiots messed with, wouldn't you want them removed from their roles so they couldn't repeat their actions? They would PROBABLY have to be named publicly for that to occur most likely. I understand what you're saying but are you suggesting these individuals should just get away scott-free after doing what they did without repercussions?! Where's the justice or deterrent in that? I don't wish ill on anyone but sometimes an example needs to be made of offenders who not only did what they did, they then asked the kid's family to lie for them, it's unbelievable man.

Even in this inflated market there is absolutely no way that we will get anything close to 35 million for Sakho and Markovic.

You have got to be the most negative person on this site. I haven't seen one positive post from you in the past few days. You need to relax and have faith in the players, the team and the manger. The window is still open. We Coutinho is still here. The manager has repeatedly said that phil is not for sale and we have no reason to think otherwise. So once again, please just relax.

I haven't seen enough of him, barring the champions league games with city and juve. I did however see some clips on youtube but they only showed his attacking side. So how is he defensively?

Irrespective of the money offered, we should only sell phil if he want to leave. If he wants to stay we should reject any and all bids. But if wants to leave we should part company on good terms. He's been a model pro, always given 100% for the team, has given us some outstanding moments. It's only fair that he gets the move if he wants it.
