With all this fekir news, which i don’t believe at all. I just want to ask the eds have we even made contact with lyon or his agent till now?
Thank you.

{Ed002's Note - After a claim of the deal being agreed last week Lyon were looking in to a potential illegal approach. Lyon have been clear where they stand, his “representative” may well of been speaking to Liverpool. Something can be done as I previously explained. Macca, I am told included him in the “done deal” or whatever list. I have not seen his post. It can happen but right now there will be a little work to do. This may well be the Coutinho “replacement” - but remember he dresses to the right.}

1.) 21 May 2018 22:51:13
I don't believe it either, I'll believe it when it happens, which I have my doubts about, it feels too much like the Lemar fiasco last year. If it does, great, we need quality reinforcements and he'd be a brilliant addition but I have my doubts on this one.

2.) 21 May 2018 22:28:24
Okay thank you ed. The macca list, I think referred to players we are interested in. He said he hoped that we may eventually sign them. That is all. I don’t think he said that they were done deals.
Anyway how are you ed002?
Good to have you back here.

{Ed002's Note - I am fine and have done no more than re-iterate the situation I have previously explained. You are the first to tell me that was Macca’s wish list.}

3.) 21 May 2018 22:43:16
I have my fingers crossed for this deal above all others.

I Appreciate you giving us this update.

4.) 21 May 2018 22:58:50
Cheers for update ed. Appreciate it.

8.) 21 May 2018 23:13:13
What on earth does he dresses to the right mean?

{Ed002's Note - Jolly Gosh, I thought all of the Brits would understand that.}

9.) 21 May 2018 23:18:21
Firmane, you been to a tailors mate? lol.

10.) 21 May 2018 23:22:53
What on earth was the Lemar fiasco?

{Ed002's Note - The fat kid from Bolton has explained Lemar is a done deal for £96M. Great news.}

11.) 21 May 2018 23:44:04
Short memory Smeg?

Exactly Ed2 mate, I think almost everybody apart from you Eds was saying how it was a 'done deal' and fans went and believed them all summer, same goes for VVD it was all about them two been signed before the end of the transfer window, it got boring.

I see the similarity with this Fekir business, it might happen of course but it just seems too much like the Lemar BS just another name. We've got everybody who's suddenly 'in the know' telling us how its a done deal, it's not! if it was he'd be stood with a Liverpool scarf having his picture taken signing on the dotted line.

12.) 21 May 2018 23:44:06
Thanks Ed002, your contributions are always appreciated by the more discerning LFC fans 😘.

13.) 21 May 2018 23:45:39
So people are dumb enough to believe the Fat Kid and suddenly it becomes a fiasco, there was no fiasco, VVD was a fiasco, Lemar was just a bunch of made up nonsense.

14.) 22 May 2018 00:13:21
Ed002 good to hear from you. Hope all your wives are good.

15.) 22 May 2018 08:54:22
Dressing to the left/ right is a tailors term referring to where you. hang.

16.) 22 May 2018 10:14:36
If ever there has been a post that makes us blokes with micro penises squirm. We’d take an direction other that an inch due south. (Just me then 😂)

{Ed001's Note - no, Ed0333 knows exactly what you mean which is why he is having an op to resolve that....}

17.) 22 May 2018 10:20:37
What on earth does "where you hang" mean? lol.

18.) 22 May 2018 01:32:00
Ed002, please tell me, after the VVD fiasco we’re not dumb enough to have made another illegal approach to another player, have we?

{Ed002's Note - You mean Solanke?}

19.) 22 May 2018 12:07:13
Solanke? I meant Fekir. But now that you mention it, did the club make an illegal approach for Solanke as well?

{Ed002's Note - You mean as well as Fekir?}

20.) 22 May 2018 13:57:14
Ed002, so basically we’ve made illegal approachs for both solanke and fekir?
What is wrong with the club!

{Ed002's Note - I didn't say that. There was a claim made by a French journalist ago that an agreement had been reached for Fekir to move to Liverpool. I understand that Macca has confirmed this. Lyon were looking in to this given that Liverpool had made no approach to them about this. I don't really understand why you struggle to comprehend this.}

21.) 22 May 2018 13:58:36
Ed002, what i meant to ask was, whether we had made any illegal approach for Fekir, as you said that Lyon were investigating illegal approaches with respect to fekir.

{Ed002's Note - I cannot explain the situation more clearly than I have. Sorry.}

22.) 22 May 2018 14:45:27
hehe, me thinks he's toying with you, Shayan. ;)

23.) 22 May 2018 15:10:54
Shayan. Lyon investigated into whether or not we had illegally approached Fekir after French media proclaimed a deal had been struck. As it stands this is all we know of a potential deal, no contact has been made to Lyon, whether we have contacted Fekir remains to be seen. Ed2 has given this information multiple times across multiple posts.

24.) 22 May 2018 14:49:57
My apologies ed, I misunderstood your reply.

{Ed002's Note - No problem.}

25.) 22 May 2018 18:53:41
Rumors in the papers have said that Klopp met with him last summer and reached a verbal agreement. If that's true I don't know how that isn't tampering so let's hope they lying.

26.) 22 May 2018 19:00:53
The Liverpool Echo are reporting tonight that Liverpool will make contact with Lyon after the final. Nothing should take the focus away from Kiev.

Although the Echo don’t get everything right they are usually more reliable than some of the rags.

01 Jun 2017 10:16:11
With all the rubbish that is being said about, I was wondering Ed002, if you could give us any sort of update on our transfer targets?
Thank you.

{Ed002's Note - I am travelling right now so it is not possible to do too much. Andrew Robertson is certainly of interest.}

1.) 01 Jun 2017 15:16:48

2.) 01 Jun 2017 15:36:51
wow that's refreshing.

3.) 01 Jun 2017 16:18:27
Robertson reminds me of a younger version of alonso from Chelsea.

4.) 01 Jun 2017 16:47:57
Alonsos left nut.

07 Jul 2014 20:19:03
Ed's already read the posts and used the search function but haven't found anything new. so could u please tell me what the current situation regarding rojo is. are we interested and who all are intrested in him?

{Ed002's Note - Back burner.}

28 May 2014 05:05:36
Eds are Soton interested in any of our players who we can use in the lallana deal?

{Ed001's Note - yes, they have interest in Coutinho. Depends on who else they lose this summer as to whether they might show interest elsewhere too, such as Enrique.}

1.) 28 May 2014 08:15:06
Enrique as a replacement for Shaw in part-exchange for one of theirs would be fine. The only 'interest' they can have in Coutinho though, is in watching him play for Liverpool on Tuesday & Wednesday nights.

2.) Surely if we are to add depth we wouldn't part with coutinho? Eds?

3.) We wouldn't let them have Coutinho, would we Ed?

{Ed001's Note - I don't expect it to happen, no. Nothing is ever 100% certain like, but I would rate that as extremely low in the possibility stakes right now.}

12 Jun 2013 09:38:06
Ed's I have already read the posts but found nothing. so can u please tell me if there are any updates in our pursuit of henrikh mkhitaryan?
Would really appreciate it!
Thanks! {Ed001's Note - there is nothing new to say.}

I’m so embarrassed by some of these so called fans. The reaction after the fekir thing has been ridiculous. And to top it all of I see peoples comments on facebook and the Liverpool page like sign fekir or atleast sign someone!
I mean what does that even mean, sign someone!
I understand why ed002 calls Liverpool fans the things he calls them. They feel like they’re entitled to something, like the club owes them something.

1.) 10 Jun 2018 20:22:09
We have added 2 top quality players to next season's squad and people demand more now now now

This isn't fifa.

2.) 10 Jun 2018 20:28:38
Agreed mate, the level of abuse towards the club especially on social media has been crazy, even some threats towards Michael Edwards, this is unacceptable. Be all and end all though mate, these people aren't fans, they're bloody weirdos.

3.) 10 Jun 2018 20:28:43
It’s no surprise, we’ve seen a new breed of football fan since the arrival of social media.

4.) 10 Jun 2018 20:52:05
We have seen a new breed of every person since social media began. Football is just another area for the scum of the earth to degrade. It offers no social benefit, just a deterioration of moral standards. To me twitter and the rest is just like leaving a dirty sponge out on the side for bacteria to fester. Gross.

5.) 10 Jun 2018 20:57:12
Bardzo, exactly my thoughts too mate. I mean I have facebook purely to keep in touch with a few family members and follow a couple of Liverpool pages but the comments get absolutely ridiculous on there, it's just full of keyboard warriors and nasty people. Poison.

6.) 10 Jun 2018 21:09:52
People who write that crap about this or any club can never ever be classed as"fan's"

7.) 10 Jun 2018 21:21:23
Spot on to all the boys on this thread. "Just sign someone"? Really? This is what being "triggered" by something on SM means. To them, LFC should just sign someone to make them happy, regardless of how big of a financial and football liability said someone would/ could cause. There is the typical LFC fan that Ed02 goes on about and can you blame him?

8.) 10 Jun 2018 21:41:40
It's the instant gratification culture youngsters have. The same people calling for sign fekir are the same fans hoping we get a nice price for sturridge. Fekir could be the next sturridge and I for one am glad the current owners are looking a fter the clubs long term interests. There are other good no10s out there we could get and I'm sure the club have a few alternatives in mind.

9.) 10 Jun 2018 23:02:07
I would love Fekir but if it was the injury which put us off fair enough. If we tried to get a discount after the medical and Lyon weren't happy then nothing we can do.

It's a long summer, I don't think it's quite as simple as we want him, no it's off. If we hold serious interest we might have a surprise at the end of summer. If not we might sigh someone else who turns out to be very good.

Thanks for the Ed's input, 002 must be pulling his hair out at some of the questions though.

It's already been super exciting so hopefully a few nice surprises a long the way.

09 Jun 2018 20:06:49
All the best eds!

30 May 2018 22:44:54
How reliable are the mirror?
They are reporting that we haven’t yet bid for fekir.

1.) 30 May 2018 23:06:33
Mirror isn't really reliable but this isn't the type of story that will sell papers. Saying that we've bid is more likely to sell papers so personally I'd lean more to believing this than the story originally circulated from a French paper.
Apparently fekir has told their president he wants to come to us is what the mirror is also saying. Just take everything with a pinch of salt.

2.) 30 May 2018 23:09:46
Thts david maddock reporting that, he's a bit of a liverpool fan so could bd reliable enough.

3.) 31 May 2018 00:59:27
They did also say that Fekir wants the move and we will try everything to get it done before the World Cup, there seems to be an suggestion that it would be better for all parties this way.

06 May 2018 00:59:38
Not specifically Liverpool related, but the Atletico manager Simeone has made a very valid point regarding the away goal rule in europe. He basically said that if the game goes into extra time and the away side score an away goal, it gives them an unfair advantage because they get and extra 30 minutes to score the goal whereas the away team in the first leg does not get the same advantage. I think he is completely spot on with this. I would like to know how the eds and other posters feel about this.
Thank you.

{Ed0333's Note - I’m surprised it’s taken so long for someone to mention it mate. Simeone has an excellent point and it’s for sure an unfair advantage. Personally I’d scrap extra time and go straight into a penalty shoot out.

1.) 06 May 2018 01:24:56
How is it unfair? The home team have “home advantage”.

One thing I can’t stand is managers moaning about the rules near the end of a competition.
You know the rules when you start, get on with it and stop moaning.

{Ed0333's Note - how do they have an advantage mate both teams over two legs play home and away?

2.) 06 May 2018 01:26:37
On the flip side, the home team gets home ground advantage for another 30mins so it’s not completely one sided.

I agree with you that the away goal rule does create some imbalances and should probably be abolished, but it also pushes teams to attack more away from home so I think it does make for a more interesting spectacle.

3.) 06 May 2018 01:26:46
It’s a known issue. The defence against the argument is that the home team gets 30 more minutes at home, which makes them more likely to score given they are playing ET on their pitch in front of their supporters. The away team continues to have the away goal rule to counter this advantage.
Not saying that I agree, but this is the party line. I agree with Ed that it is impossible to compare or balance the two, and also playing 120 minutes takes a heavy toll on the players, and we should go straight to penalties.

{Ed0333's Note - you have no idea how happy it makes me when people agree with me it doesn’t happen too often.

4.) 06 May 2018 03:02:45
Personally I would get rid of the away goals rule altogether.

5.) 06 May 2018 03:20:03
Straight to pens, sort the men fron the boys.

6.) 06 May 2018 03:53:24
Don’t forget that it is also somewhat of an equalizer to the fact that the team benefitting from the rule has had to play the home leg first, which is considered by many to be a disadvantage going into the tie provided the participants are of at least similar quality.

7.) 06 May 2018 04:26:06
I like the straight to penalties shout but if extra time is going to be played I don’t see how you can do it any fairer than it is now, that’s one of the reasons teams like the home leg second-you play extra time in front of your home fans.

8.) 06 May 2018 07:11:50
Simple solution is : No away goal rule advantage in extra time for away teams.

But then it will defeat the purpose of away goal rule which is to encourage away teams to come out and attack and not sit back.

9.) 06 May 2018 07:22:20
I think it’s ok as it is. The rule was brought in to stop away teams in the first leg playing mind-knumbing 0 - 0 draws in the hope of finishing the game off on the 2nd leg. The only slight downside is that it makes some teams play a bit more cautiously at home, but brave teams like Liverpool still go for it.

I’m not surprised Simeone moans about it as he is the continental Tony Pulis, who would love to play for 0 - 0 draws in the away leg.

I don’t think it goes to extra time often enough to worry about it as both legs have to have identical scores. Ie only. 5 - 2 win for Roma would have forced extra time in our leg.

As for going straight to penalties I’d prefer a match to be decided playing football so would rather have extra time first to give that a chance. Although I do expect it to be scrapped sooner or later when the medics start complaining about the extra stress and strain on their pampered little darlings.

Finally, extra time especially in finals can produce some of the most exciting football of the whole game.

10.) 06 May 2018 08:02:23
May be they could introduce the the golden goal rule in extra time, as that would compel both the teams to attack and get the decisive goal.

11.) 06 May 2018 11:55:58
Have to disagree with you all boys.

Look at the scintillating football we have seen in the CL this season. I think any rule changes to the knockout stages regarding away goals or other elements which could affect how teams attack but unwise.

20 goals scored across two semis is brilliant. God let’s not end up taking away what makes the CL exciting and ending up with international style knockouts in major tornamenta of dull defensive football!

I don’t care if Simeone is complaining. The competition WORKS. The proof is in the pudding. Someone tell me his years CL and Europa hasn’t been magnficint across the board.

12.) 07 May 2018 09:03:59
You’re not disagreeing with me Keith.

17 Jan 2018 09:21:05
Can someone help me with this. I'm visiting my gf in cardiff was hoping to see anfield with her. How do I do that? Is there like fixed days or timings when I can visit? Do I need to make bookings before I go or I can go and just pay some sort of fee and visit?
And I'm not asking for a match day visit or a ticket, my gf doesn't follow football, although I've been trying to get her to see a few liverpool matched.
Thank you.

1.) 17 Jan 2018 09:39:26
There are Stadium Tours as well as Matchday Tours which you can book in advance or on the day you visit. Just check out the club website. All the information you need will be up there.

2.) 17 Jan 2018 09:40:50
Go onto the club website a search for "Stadium Tour". You have to book it.

3.) 17 Jan 2018 10:02:15
Thank you sibsama and MKS.

4.) 17 Jan 2018 10:32:07
If ya bird doesn't like footy just drop her off at goodison.

5.) 17 Jan 2018 10:37:46
Welcome Shayan. Enjoy it buddy.

6.) 17 Jan 2018 11:04:50
lol Roller, funny 😄.

7.) 17 Jan 2018 11:10:25
Enjoy, just one point you should note. anfield is in Liverpool not Cardiff 😜.

8.) 17 Jan 2018 13:09:55
When you do the stadium tour, take the option of including the museum ticket with it. Saves a few quid and the museum is well worth a visit.

Why would Lyon be open to negotiations again?
We tried negotiating it didn’t work. They are firm on what they want and that is the best price they can get for Fekir. They hold all the cards. If we want Fekir all we have to do is meet their demands. If the club isn’t willing to pay what Lyon want they should move on to other targets. It’s not that difficult to understand.
