Thanks for all your hard work during the silly season Eds, appreciate all your hard work.
Any news on a new coach or assistant manager?

{Ed001's Note - not yet mate, surprisingly as I would have thought this would be sorted by now.}

1.) 12 Jun 2015 20:55:07
Brendan is taking over all 3 roles ;)

2.) 12 Jun 2015 21:31:48
Hi guys, 1st time poster, a mate of mine got talking to Rick Parry at a gym in chester, and apparently he seems to think (and very shocked)that they haven't even drawn up a list of potential assistants. Obviously I don't know how much he still has to do with the club and whether this true, but if it is I think it's madness. Or could also be them just waiting for Brendan to leave himself. But I don't think he will if that's the case, he won't get another job as big as this.

{Ed001's Note - Parry is now marketing himself as a football consultant but he has no longer any involvement with Liverpool. He might well be right though on this, but take what he says with a pinch of salt.}

3.) 13 Jun 2015 11:17:50
Thought that myself to be fair ed. I had thought that it could be fsg just waiting until January, for klopp, after his break and just trying to make Rogers uncomfortable, but that could be a monumental mistake and end up ruining another season, they wouldn't be that ruthless just to save the compensation would they?

{Ed001's Note - no they are not trying to force him to resign.}

4.) 13 Jun 2015 12:40:03
They're not trying to force him to sign but are they happy with him?

{Ed001's Note - no, that is why the coaching staff was cleared out.}

16 Aug 2013 10:28:13
I know I will get ripped apart for this but I wouldn't mind us going for Yossi Benayoun again. Free agent and I think he would be good squad player still has something to offer.

Was gutted when Yossi left more so than Torres. On another note I would be surprised if we sign Willan, I am not being a pessimist its just that if Man U and Tottenham are also after him, can we really compete and that is not me having a go at the owners or BR as if you look through my past posts I have always and will always be a big supporter of both.

YNWA {Ed002's Note - Benayoun will likely conclude a deal to join Crystal Palace - possibly today.}

1.) I have just read that ed sorry if I wasted your time.

2.) You won't get ripped apart but for me I would not want him back. Too light weight and a little ineffective

3.) I agree, I wouldn't mind getting Yossi back for 1 season while FSG work on securing quality younger signings for the future. He always creates chances and can play anywhere. Loads of experience.

4.) Okay you're ripped in the worst way. Benayoun couldn't hold down a first team place after he left us so why would he now be good enough to have sitting on our bench? Better blooding youngsters than bringing back has beens on good wages. Yossi was a pretty decent player once but his best days are way behind him.

5.) He hasn't played well consistently since leaving us.

6.) No. just. god no!

11 Aug 2017 17:24:07
Personally I would let Coutinho leave, why keep a player who does not want to stay at the club. We saw what happened with Torres.

If you were headhunted at your current place of work to go somewhere else and you weren't allowed to go you'd be pi**ed off too.

We can't moan about Southampton and RB not letting VVD and Keita leave and then expect LFC to keep hold of Coutinho. For me i'd be more worried if Mane left at the moment.

1.) 11 Aug 2017 17:34:42
At the end of the day, the die is now cast that he's leaving. The only thing to do now is to demand as much money as possible from Barcelona and as close to £150m is a fair price.

2.) 11 Aug 2017 17:47:30
We sold torres when he was past his sell by date. Coutinhos just beginning to flourish into something special. I don't think hell ever be as good as one of the greatest midfielders and players to ever play the game in iniesta but in world football today? You'll have a hard time finding a better player to attempt to lace iniestas boots than coutinho. He's much needed got Barcelona and I hope if he goes he becomes a magnificent player.

3.) 11 Aug 2017 17:59:45
What good is us fans saying sell him but make sure and get x amount for him? We won't see a penny of it and it's clear that lfc have plenty of money as it is and can't get the players they want.

What good is that extra money if the team goes backwards this season.

4.) 11 Aug 2017 17:52:20
I would rather have an unhappy coutinho for 1 or 2 months than no coutinho and poor replacements. He will have to get his act together as its a world cup year and there is no one we can replace him with. This is a purely selfish point of view but its still the better option imo to get a full season more with him and 12 months to recruit world class replacement.

5.) 11 Aug 2017 17:58:37
i do not blame him for wanting to go, its the timing of the request. Barcelona have got £200m to spend and struggling to find netmar replacement. If we sell we have got to get a replacement before he's sold.

6.) 11 Aug 2017 18:20:14
We have to keep him, why fans keep saying I'd try get as much money as possible is nonense, Coutinho is IRREPLACEABLE at this moment in time end of, more money doesn't go into our pockets so what's your thinking behind that when we won't be able to bring in a suitable replacement for x amount of money in this short space of time. Coutinho will be unhappy for sure but he's got the right mentality to play to what he's capable of in a Liverpool shirt again no doubt, selling him reiterates our ambitions to not make it to the top again but it seems some fans are happy with mediocrity nowadays.

04 Aug 2017 09:14:50
I know ill get shouted at, but was just wondering is it likely we will make anymore signings this transfer window? This is not just aimed at the eds who I know are busy, but fellow posters.

By the way eds you do a great job, really appreciated.

1.) 04 Aug 2017 10:14:12
It depends if ed002 decides that we need further additions to the squad.

{Ed002's Note - I am sure there will be a change or two to be made in August.}

2.) 04 Aug 2017 10:15:21
I expect VVD to sign and one other, maybe a cm or winger.

3.) 04 Aug 2017 13:32:14
Thanks for not shouting at me, can come out from behind the sofa now.

Be interesting to see who, we sign. I don't believe it will be VVD i think we've blown it. We defiantly need a CB though, think we could do with a holding midfielder as well personally.

09 Jun 2017 17:16:38
Surely Klopp has got to be getting pi**ed off with how the negotiations have gone and how much we have cocked things up?

Could he consider his position at the club if we can't get our act together?

{Ed002's Note - Klopp has acted illegally yet again - repeatedly tapping up players.}

1.) 09 Jun 2017 17:43:25
Sorry I didn't realise Klopp was part of the problem. Clubs and players will refuse to deal with us unless we get our act together.

2.) 09 Jun 2017 17:44:03
Was it something known to for him to be doing at Dortmund Ed?

{Ed002's Note - Yes he has done it before.}

3.) 09 Jun 2017 17:45:14
SA Kopp and Liverpool are both 2 blame. So they only have themselves to be p****d off at.

4.) 09 Jun 2017 17:52:16
SA, you do understand that is Klopp who illegally met up with Van Dijk?

I cannot see many clubs being happy to do business with us this summer unless LFC are willing to give other clubs their bank account number as well as the pin number.

Being stupid the way Liverpool have will only get them one thing = payback.

5.) 09 Jun 2017 21:54:00
Who do you think tells Klopp to "speak" with these players? The club has people who are incompetent running the show and I certainly don't mean Klopp.

6.) 09 Jun 2017 19:18:38
Ed02, i am not making excuses at all, if its wrong its wrong, but according to some ex professional, this goes on all the time in football today. I don't understand it well enough but they say (several people including nicol) that there is a lot more fuss being made of all these tapping allegations than there should be.

Like i said i am just asking, not defending.

{Ed002's Note - Clubs do not talk to players all of the time. You can argue that players will talk to other players - some at the behest of clubs (something Liverpool are also guilty of), and agents will overstep the mark on occasion but it is rare that clubs and managers arrange meetings with players. There is not more fuss than necessary being made because Liverpool and Klopp are repeat offenders.}

7.) 09 Jun 2017 22:33:16
Do yoy rekon it was like when you would truly and blag your mum into buying something, then you told her the price.

Just thought of klopp banging on about vvs to jwh, and sayinghe'll walk the dog and clean the car if they buy him. Until "well how much is it". haha sorry just a lighter mood needed.

22 Jun 2016 14:13:16
Hi eds,
After reading on social media the supposed 5 players that Klopp is after, why is that when there are players that the fans don't want its the 'Transfer Committee', if its players that they want 'Klopp is after a bargain'?

Just asking?

{Ed001's Note - no idea.}

30 Jun 2015 10:19:45
Some fans really irritate me Sean O'Driscoll hasn't even been officially announced as our assistant manager and people are having a go. Give him a chance for goodness sake.

If he had a Spanish, Brazilian or Italian name people wouldn't be saying a thing.

Fair shout to Ed001 for calling it ages ago, what are the lottery numbers going to be? :)

{Ed001's Note - I will go with 1 (for my Ed's number), 95 (for Ed003's age), 175 (for Ed002's IQ), 6 (Ed007's mental age), 73 (for the average amount of times I say the wrong thing a day), 88 (because 2 fat ladies is Ed004's dream date), 41 (for the number of teams Ed008 supports) and 23 (because Ed023 would cry if he doesn't get mentioned).

1.) 30 Jun 2015 11:29:50
Totally agree with you SA.
I don't understand some of the comments. like, (I am willing to give him a chance. )
What is that all about?
We are talking about an assistant coach who can only help with the progress of the squad.
Going back a few years you wouldn't have known who the assistant was, never mind questioning him before he is even appointed.

2.) 30 Jun 2015 16:18:36
if the Ed`s view on him is anything to go by then he is more than welcome here because he sure knows his stuff. i just feel that with BR at the helm and still having the power to overrule them is what scares me. I would have liked a new manager to appoint Sean and Pepin because at least we would know that said manager wanted them hence, the cynergy would be there. The way it is right now doesn`t fill me with confidence. Only time will tell, tho.

I very much Klopp would have gone against his trusty 'Brain' after working with him for so long to protect Achterberg. I am not even going to speculate on what it was. As said it was probably a whole host of things and Buvac decided it was time to move on. let's leave it at that and do the same.

Hi Ed02 hope you are well. Sorry if i missed it but did Salah ask his agent to enquire about a move to Real Madrid since he has been with us?

{Ed002's Note - Yes.}

I have liked the Ox as a player for a while and think he could do a job for us if we sign him. Klopp must have something in mind for him, so will wait and see. Though, my personal opinion is he is a luxury and not something we need, I would like us to sign a midfield enforcer (tough in the tackle), a CB and LB. But there is a reason I am not the manager and Klopp is, I trust Klopp to get it right.

Hope you're right Leech, but I'll wait till I actually see him in a red shirt, before I believe it sorry, as I am sure we'll screw it up. I can see it now.

Roma: Glad we finally agreed on a deal, pass me the paperwork and ill sign it off.
Liverpool negotiator passes paperwork. Roma director pen hovering.
Roma: Wait this isn't the deal we agreed upon.
Liverpool: No we felt this was a more suitable deal for both parties.
Roma: But our deal was 43 million euros. This is for 10 million euros, a 20 euro Amazon voucher, 10 mars bars and a packet of wotsits.

Me cynical never!

Unless we get multiple defensive injuries then we might be grateful of them.

Great post mate, my thoughts exactly. I know some people will not like grinding out 1-0 wins but at the start of the season the points are important. When we get settled I am sure we will start winning more convincingly.

Not that this means anything, but I am sure Chelsea won their first 4-5 games 1-0 in Jose's first season in charge.

I am not getting ahead of myself and there is a lot of football still to play, but I have to say.

I think its a bit soon to be talking about whether he would get a new contract or not, as a lot of football is played in 2 years. But I personally would offer him a new contract. I think he has done well with us so far. We seem to be making slow, but steady progress, the football we are playing is taking us back to our roots. He has proven he can manage big egos with the Suarez affair and he can bring out the best in players.

Also we have had what? 4 managers in 4 years how. Changing again, isn't going to help anybody, we need stability to bring success and I think we can do that through BR.
