It's very sad how some of our fans are turning on Klopp at the moment. How can it be so easily forgotten where we where when he came in and what he has achieved with and for us. If it wasn't for the sports washing team in Manchester he would of achieved a lot more woth us too. We've had so many amazing memories to look back on and achieved some incredible things. Even this season we should have been nowhere near a title if we're being honest with the number of injuries but due to a few bad games all the good things are forgotten by some. He isn't perfect but who is? He was perfect for our club in my eyes with his passion and personality. I for one will look back on Klopps reign as being an incredible journey and I can't thank the man enough for the memories he gave me. YNWA Klopp.

Agree, at the beginning of this season I would have taken where we are now gladly, but our expectations were built up by the performance up to now.

It's funny that some of are them now saying he should have gone two years ago! They weren't saying that two years ago or even less than a month ago when we were top of the League.
The bloke helps put us in a position were winning League title and another two trophies is in our hands with less than two months of the season left but they knock him down when it doesn't happen.
Would we have been in that position had Klopp been let go two years ago?
I'd love to know which manager would have replaced him and made us at least League champions.

Hit the nail on the head there Rigsby

Where were all these clowns 2 months ago?

Klopp deserves more respect from some of these posters.

This seaaon we were puching above by getting late goals but it was clear the midfield was very thin. As soon as the forwards forgot their shooting boots, the results were normal.

This might be not popular opinion here the heavy metal style is passe. It cannot be sustained and had run its course.

The change to posession style was evolution with us getting to challenge 4 titles last time and again this season. only to loose out because of not taking chances.

I am not supporting inverted right back role at all but this thinking of going back to heavy metal style is not going to gurantee titles.

We should take it both wins ans losses and give proper send off to Klopp by appreciating the good times and not getting bitter because of these last 6 or 7 games.

This is why the pramgamtists here so eagerly call out the “fans” who spend all their time criticizing the team and players when we don’t win yet sit silently when we are winning.

Because at the end of the day, you’re not actually supporting the club. You’re supporting winning trophies and that’s it.

Agree2

Doesn't matter if people think we've over achieved this season. we we're top of the league couple of weeks ago, in the FA and europa cup n suddenly fell apart. no one knows why, can't go from playing great to utter shte n not be questioned .

Agree1

28 Apr 2024 11:02:21
I read a lot about tactical flaws here but I have a sincere question as I don't know much about football. Was it Klopps tactics that stopped our attackers from putting away the tons of chances we created as well? I mean, inverted full back or not, we created lots of chances which we never scored and that is why we are where we are today. I be the players the most personally.

Agree1

28 Apr 2024 11:39:58
Questions should be asked, Stromsgodset. Some fans are rewriting history though. I don't think we've been playing great, regularly, this season though. Results were great despite the way we played, I would say.
I do agree that results and performances have dipped significantly in the past few weeks but questioning that is fine. What I find strange is fans giving the answers to those problems after the events. The manager, his assistant, a book, the kids etc. are emotionally bandied about without any real thought.

Theres no helping some people. Let them have their tantrums and ridiculous opinions.
Klopp has been great for Liverpool football club and I have thoroughly enjoyed the last 9 years.
Thats what its about right? Sure there has been some disappointments during that time but they only rank as disappointing when compared to the great moments we’ve had alongside them.

Agree2

{Ed025's Note - im with you Semi..

Klopp always said it was about the journey …. The moments both high and low are what should be remembered …. All in the context of a dodgy set of officials and a club winning by virtue of financial doping.

Rigsby
Some posters can’t formulate their own opinions.
Be it Klopp should have left 2 years ago
Ljinders should be the next manager when Klopp leaves
Or Jones is better than Foden 😂😂.

Agree1

28 Apr 2024 14:29:41
Klopp has been awesome but has lost his way a bit with the whole inverted full back nonsense, and we didn’t transition the midfield quickly enough. 8 trophies in 9 years is a great return when you consider we are up against state sponsored teams. We’ve also been unlucky at crucial times with injuries and lost
Momentum.

Agree0

28 Apr 2024 15:22:30
True Rigsby, we weren't playing great but results is what mattered after last season, I was hoping rather than expecting that we would qualify for champs league. n im happy with that. just we were sooo close to competing this year for the title . we as fans try n work out what's happening so we throw all scenarios out. some bizarre.

Hi all, a lot being publicised about a certain Bruno guimaraes having a £100m release clause in his contract, what would people think of spending some of that Salah money on sorting our midfield? Absolute class player and would play that double pivot position brilliantly! Does beg the question why we were bidding over £100m for Caicedo when Bruno is available at that price! Wouldn’t mind stealing Isaak from them either the guy is absolutely clinical and calmness personified in front of goal.

28 Apr 2024 01:41:36
Would take both in a heart beat, Twitter seems to think Edwards wants isak but realistically I can't see us getting either unless Newcastle needs to sell for ffp.

Pretty sure they won't need to though, oil money talks.

Agree3

{Ed001's Note - why is Edwards involved? Recruitment is not his job is it?}

28 Apr 2024 01:53:22
Some of that Salah money? How much are we getting?
Seriously though, I don't know if Salah will be sold or not but I do rate Guimaraes highly. It's just a feeling but I don't think he'd fancy us. I can see him going to City or a big club on the continent but I'm not sure who could afford him there.
I would take him, definitely.

28 Apr 2024 02:35:24
Bruno didn’t move last summer.

Just the usual drivel on twitter ed.

Agree0

28 Apr 2024 10:27:47
Yeah the idea that Edwards ‘isn’t happy’ with signings we’ve made and is going to chuck Nunez out for Isak, despite that not being his remit, is very funny to me.

Agree0

28 Apr 2024 14:27:17
I seem to remeher reading that Newcastle might well have to sell one of their bigger players this season.

Agree0

28 Apr 2024 15:15:47
Apparently that clause expires this summer or next, but either way, Newcastle would want a hefty fee.
I think the big fee for Salah has failed, we'd be lucky if we get £70m. I still think we should have sold last year personally.
Amorin, pretty sure Newcastle do need to balance the books, they can't do what city did those years ago and just splash the cash anymore, needs to be a gradual thing. unless you get some convenient sponsorship deals that are suspiciously greater in value than any other, more successful club!

With slot being our new manager, do you think sepp van den berg will be given a chance for first team place. Playing very well in bundesliga too by all accounts. Also, is there any top quality players in Dutch league likely to join us. Often a manager from a certain league brings in a player or two from that league too.
What was the turning point for us this season. For me, it was the game at home v Prague. Ever since then, the team just didn't seem the same for some reason.

28 Apr 2024 01:40:24
Doubt it mate I think Mainz have a optional future fee clause so I think he will go there.

Agree2

28 Apr 2024 02:17:08
If I had to pick one turning point it would be the draw against United.
It seemed worse than a draw because we murdered them but relinquished our control of the title race. We hadn't been playing well for a while in games but still mostly winning them. That one we dominated for large parts and ended up salvaging a draw but it didn't feel that way.
Not only that but we lost the next two games after that both at home.
Maybe that's just coincidence and a bad run was inevitable because of how we were performing though.

I noticed a change in mood of Liverpool fans, as well. After we beat Brighton and City and Arsenal drew, confidence soared. I don't think the draw would have been as damaging for morale had we'd played someone else. We should have won by at least three goals.
Anyway, it was the game before we lost back to back matches and I can't remember the last time that happened before then.

Agree3

28 Apr 2024 10:01:40
We lost games because of poor defending, Klopps persistence with questionable tactics, and above all the forwards not hitting the back of the net. Get the latter resolved and the first two issues become irrelevant.

Agree1

28 Apr 2024 10:41:26
A clean sheet means you have to hit the back of the net less often.
It might be an age thing but give me a clinical and professional 2-0 win over a 5-4 one anyday 😂.

Agree0

28 Apr 2024 14:33:04
Defending has been a big issue for us this season, and it’s an area that badly needs addressing. Hopefully Slot will. We need to spend big on a new CB and I’d demote Konate to 3rd choice with 4th choice Gomez/ Quansah. The latter I think will become extremely good with experience. We need to get to Arsenal levels of defensive consistency.

Up front I would sell Salah and Nunez, and buy quality with the money. I’d be buying a DM also, as I don’t think Endo is the long term answer. Adjust tactics by Slot will get the best out of Szobo.

Agree0

28 Apr 2024 15:20:44
Personally, I think the turning point has been a gradual thing, set off by losing the league title to City by a single point despite having a record amount of points. The manager and players invested so much physically and mentally, and to be beaten to the title despite such an effort must have dealt a severe blow psychologically. How do you process that? Any other year, it would have easily won the title, but to lose out to a team with financial charges ha hing over them must be very hard to take.

27 Apr 2024 21:43:47
I am seriously worried that FSG got someone from Dutch League. I remember a certain Steve Mclaren who could not find a job in Premier league winning the Dutch League with FC Twente Enschede.

27 Apr 2024 22:39:24
Best thing to do is to not worry. I find it best when people are better than me at something, to let them get on with it. Especially when my reaction won't change a thing.

Agree8

27 Apr 2024 22:52:44
Is it FSG or Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes? Think Edwards was brought back to see LFC rebuild again in he's watch.

Agree1

27 Apr 2024 23:33:51
Who should we have got?

Agree1

27 Apr 2024 23:45:01
I’d be more worried about our upcoming 6 pointers against Villa and Spurs given our leadership group are closer to throttling each other on camera, than they are to setting a good example or guiding us over the finish line.

Agree9

28 Apr 2024 00:05:30
Leekuanyew

There is good reason to worry.
Equivalent to the Championship even though the Netherlands produces some very good players.

It’s true, every manager that’s ever managed in that league is of the same standard

Agree2

28 Apr 2024 02:37:56
I’d be concerned if John Henry was ringing the phones to find a new manager. Thankfully he’s not

It’s a normal human thing to get caught up on the barriers. Allow yourself to put the barriers aside and just look at the person, what they do and how they may fit in.

Agree3

28 Apr 2024 10:00:08
Leek, if you can genuinely name a better candidate (who actually wants the job, because Alonso didn’t want it), then go ahead and name them. Because not one of Tuchel, Mourinho, Nagelsmann et al would be remotely a good fit for us. Amorim, for what it’s worth, is probably the same level as Slot, as the Portuguese league is not a stronger league than the Dutch league and his record is vaguely similar, he ruled himself out of it with his antics, even if he wanted the job, he soiled himself in public so much that we offered it to someone who didn’t need to think twice. I’m impressed with the way Slot handled the question when asked, but also that he backs himself and is confident he can bring something to the team.

Agree2

28 Apr 2024 10:31:34
Agree with that VV. The Amorim public apology was quite the humiliation. Initially thought it might have been a disagreement over strategy and his remit but perhaps it was over his behaviour. Flew to London to speak to West Ham for leverage perhaps? Quite embarrassing and glad we’ve got someone who backs himself this much, giving us a firm yes.

Agree1

27 Apr 2024 18:53:54
Even if we had won the game today overall, the performance was poor and not good enough. Quality was missing, but for me more so the hunger and desire wasn't there.

Defensively, we always look very vulnerable. Midfield was sloppy and again the attack, even though we create chances, we very rarely look like scoring.
The changes for me came way too late and were the wrong men. Diaz was our best player today, and he goes off?

Such a shame and a sad way for Klopp's final season to finish. Especially is if you had asked a lot of Liverpool fans at the start of season if we get back to CL and win a trophy it's a step in the right direction. Madly enough, it was the kids that rescued our season and since the first team players have come back, we've looked disjointed and a mess.

Some of the players over the course of the season have shown that maybe they are not quite what a lot of us believe them to be. So there is still plenty of potential there, but plenty of work to be done.

Would love to see a solid number 6 come in, another left back to keep Robertson on his toes. Would take a number 9 if salah leaves and have nunez playing out wide where to be honest he looks more dangerous. Jota unfortunately can't keep fit all season.

27 Apr 2024 19:35:23
I wish that was all was needed.

Agree3

27 Apr 2024 22:14:41
We were playing well but klopp and Pep ljinders decide tweak tactics, it was no longer heavy metal football, more like classical boring music.

Agree4

27 Apr 2024 23:07:52
Have you ever listened to Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, Leek?
It's better than anything by Whitesnake.

Agree5

28 Apr 2024 10:04:58
I wouldn’t say classical music, for example you could hardly call ride of the valkyries boring, Leek. I’d say what we’re witnessing is more in resemblance to elevator music, or if you’re ever on the phone to a company and placed on hold, that awful rendition of greensleeves which appears to have been played on a telephone key pad.

Agree2

28 Apr 2024 10:32:49
Or maybe even The Moody Blues, to paraphrase Malcolm Tucker.

Agree0

27 Apr 2024 18:44:28
Kudus was decent against us today I think that lad is still improving and could be top drawer
Inacio £54m Kudus £70m and a decent RB and we would be a better team I think next season.
TAA into midfield and surely Slot would be looking at a title challenging team again.

27 Apr 2024 20:13:02
Kudos for £70m you have got to be joking me, he did next to nothing today and is nowhere near that kind of valuation although I’m sure West Ham would take your hand off with that offer.

Agree9

27 Apr 2024 20:33:16
TAA into midfield would not improve our midfield one iota.

Agree3

27 Apr 2024 21:02:13
He'd just be another midfielder that can't defend or track back. Best passer in the team and capable of scoring from distance, mind.

Agree2

27 Apr 2024 22:43:25
Not sure how anyone can watch that game today and want Kudus, when Bowen was clearly the best player on the pitch for either side.

Agree2

27 Apr 2024 23:24:02
@MK, a lot of us see what we thought we were going to see before the game starts. It happens a lot with expert summarisers. Kudus has been mentioned on here after times so it was predetermined that he would have a good game, irrespective of how he actually played.

Agree0

27 Apr 2024 23:34:38
And if you’re on about spending £70 mill I’d rather test the water for Isaak at Newcastle.

Agree4

28 Apr 2024 03:15:26
Think Bowen would be great for us but our owners won't see value in a 27/ 8 yr old with no sell on value.

Agree0

28 Apr 2024 06:19:43
Kudus played well, that’s what I watched!
Yes Bowen was the best player on the pitch but at 28 he is never going to be a Red.
Kudus still has lots to learn but he is young and full of potential.

Agree0

27 Apr 2024 18:38:12
I have to say this reguarding klopp. Forget the results atm, when this man manages his last game we're going to feel it. I don't really care about the performances or results now. Didn't even watch the game today because it's dwindling out. However he's been an incredible manager and man for this magnificent football club. His personality was massive and there will be tears when the final whistle blows. The memories will be replayed and we will all feel the blow of it. Klopps been magnificent and was the perfect and dream appointment at the time. We suffered over a decade of mediocrity and he finally won us thr title. It's unfortunate we couldn't win another one with him and with the crowd but it is what it is. We have a very good squad and hopefully continue to buy well. The clubs in a very good place so let's try abd remain positive especially seeing this great man out and welcoming in someone that wants the job.

27 Apr 2024 19:45:19
So we must listen to your take on things when you couldn't be bothered to even watch the match? that's like taking advice on which is the best steakhouse from someone that is vegetarian.

And why bother commenting on a post that you didn't bother to read, Kloppoutnow? Nice name, btw.
If you'd read it, you'd know that it was about Klopp's tenure not today's game.
The tenure you want to cut short by a few weeks after nine years.
