Hi Edd 002,
Why are we looking at loan options in this window.
We have one of the highest revenues in football but choose to shop in midfielder wilderness.
I know no one will touch Michael Edwards for who he brought in at his time at the club.
Has Ward got the funds or a complete incompetence of the need for midfielders.
This isn't just this season.
Yes we were in all completions late on last season, I think Mane was the reason, but if you don't plan ahead on what was already an ageing midfielder then the s*** will eventually hit the fan.
The names now being mentioned bring a 'sticking plaster to a war zone"approach.
Whoever thinks Bellingham or Caicedo or that level of player are coming in the summer is living in clod cuckoo land.
Now or never for them, otherwise its loan deals or championship midfielders in the summer.
My 9 year old son wants a top with Bellingham on not Berge from Sheffield Wednesday.
Shirt sales, merchandise sales would rocket, if we got the stars, not just here but around the world.
The young kids all growing up seem to be drawn to successful clubs, Man City come to mind. A lot more youngsters supporting them which means sales of merchandise because owners invested in the team.
It's sad watching Liverpool do business like this.

Thanks Edd 002 for all your knowledge, insight and of course time and patience with us.

Mredsky

{Ed002's Note - It is Klopp who wouldn't sanction a move for a midfield player in a timely manner - and that likely lost them the chance to sign Amrabat without now playing a sign premium. Bellingham is not available this month.}

1.) 27 Jan 2023 16:35:22
I’ll say it again, it seems that no one at the club is on the same page. There needs to be someone at the helm who can get control of the situation and get everyone together. The right has no idea what the left is doing and everyone seems frustrated.

2.) 27 Jan 2023 16:40:02
Happier with Bajcetic than Amrabat.

3.) 27 Jan 2023 17:10:15
Very glad we didn’t move for Amrabat tbh. Maybe a decent player but the money being talked about was crazy.

4.) 27 Jan 2023 17:30:07
Mrredsky

“Now or never for them, otherwise its loan deals or championship midfielders in the summer”

Hahaha have a day off.

Arsenal signed Jesus, Zinchenko, saliba, odegaard, etc all while being outside of the top 4. Newcastle signed Bruno Guimares and Isaak. Etc etc.

5.) 27 Jan 2023 17:46:19
Navy, they have money to spend and don’t work on a hand to mouth basis. We however don’t have money to spend and we do work on a hand to mouth basis. If you’re thinking this summer is going to be a big spending one, you’re in for a lot of disappointment.

6.) 27 Jan 2023 18:04:35
If Arsenal get Caceido we will be even further behind them - if they get a new goalkeeper and a right back we will be miles behind them and their squad is young and will only get better. Our squad is aging in important areas whilst others are improving. It's not looking good. Id have thought one decent midfielder would have come in to give us a push in January and Bellingham in the summer. Gutted.

7.) 27 Jan 2023 18:47:57
We were praised for being such a well run club for a few years especially in the transfer market it couldn’t be further from that now. Kabak Davies Arthur now i’m seeing links to Berge on loan if we can raise money by selling Phillips? Our midfield is in dire need of a rebuild yet im glad we didn’t get Amrabat because it stinks of another player not good enough we’d struggle to move on. Huge contracts handed out wrongly. Absolutely zero succession planning. Square pegs in round holes. Awful results on the pitch. Things need changing badly.

8.) 27 Jan 2023 19:24:40
MFDOOOM is VVVV right?

9.) 27 Jan 2023 19:25:12
Jude, bajcetic is a kid, who needs time to develop properly and we shouldn't be depending on a kid at a time when our senior players have completely gone missing.

10.) 27 Jan 2023 19:29:51
The sooner FSG sell to someone who can take us forward the better.

11.) 27 Jan 2023 19:33:26
Oh the doom and the gloom. How will we ever survive?

12.) 27 Jan 2023 21:06:56
And we also shouldn't be buying players we usually wouldn't look twice at because were off form!

13.) 27 Jan 2023 22:30:35
I believe so thunderbird, but there was some strange crossover I noticed where they seemed to correspond with each other. Bobby’s teeth all over again perhaps?

14.) 27 Jan 2023 22:52:53
Thank god, Amrabat is average at best.

15.) 28 Jan 2023 05:18:04
Bajcetic wouldn’t be developing sitting behind Amrabat. I’m taking Bajcetic all day.

Klopp made a mistake and that’s it. Don’t think it needs surgical repair but luckily we have Klopp about to try and remedy his mistake.

16.) 28 Jan 2023 07:35:53
Listen to your selves you have blamed FSG you have blamed Pep you have blamed Edwards you have blamed Ward you have blamed diffrent players .
We have injuries to our top stars we have players struggling for their best form we have a manager that has been non stop since he arrived we have had a world cup mid season .
I believed this would happen when fighting on four fronts it would cause long term problems for any top team but our team did not have the quality of players for back up.

If we have a poor season by our standards so be it we have missed out on champs league before and returned to it .

Come on reds we are starting to sound like the bitters you support your club through good and the bad times that is what us reds do we have no devine right to be the best we have to earn this by everyone gets behind Liverpool fc and FSG and Klopp and pep and the players.

17.) 28 Jan 2023 09:14:33
I believe between tight arse owners and a stubborn manager they will both drag this club to low levels. Can’t believe the situation we are in with our shambles midfield that no signings have been made it’s a disgrace. Instead we go and buy a bang average at best player who had a decent couple games in the World Cup.
I fear for where we are heading with the current owners as they appear only interested in two things to me an NBA team and their sporting portfolio.

18.) 28 Jan 2023 20:05:00
I read that by Whitewalker and genuinely thought I was on the Everton page.

Bajcetic. what a player, what a player.

Mredsky

1.) 18 Jan 2023 11:18:29
OP, He was the one I was watching all game and he is absolute quality.

2.) 18 Jan 2023 11:19:24
He's done ok let's not get too carried away. He's had a few dodgy moments in some games.
Fingers crossed for the lad and goes on to win much with us.

3.) 18 Jan 2023 12:58:40
Few loose balls lastnight but overall very promising. Drop fab and give him a go. but if it backfires he'll get abuse. Worth a go?

4.) 18 Jan 2023 11:48:53
He's 17/ 18 of course he's going to have "dodgy moments".

5.) 18 Jan 2023 13:01:07
Why not get excited?

The lad looks quality.

If you don’t play him and give him the chance to make mistakes he won’t get better.

6.) 18 Jan 2023 15:10:20
Spot on, Waqqas. I'm not getting excited over what he could be. Im excited about his natural talent and the quality he already has as an 18 yr old kid. Press resistant, range of passing, can pass with either foot comfortably, technical ability to find a pass. All these were there to see last night, IMO. That's what I'mm excited about. Will he struggle? Of course BUT that's not the point.

11 Jan 2023 16:25:43
Is it just coincidence that just before a fixture we are linked with a midfielder from that club i.e. Wolves, Brighton.

So in a couple of weeks it will be a midfielder from Chelsea, then Newcastle, Real Madrid etc.

Are we trying to unsettle them?
I feel for the fans of these clubs. If I was an opposition player I would say it is all rumours.

Mredsky

1.) 11 Jan 2023 17:38:06
Who did we unsettle at Brentford when they battered us!

2.) 11 Jan 2023 17:59:02
Yeah wolves looked really unsettled Saturday nite ?.

3.) 11 Jan 2023 18:29:11
The opposition players aren’t bothered, 9 times out of 10 they realise we’ve not got the funds to buy them.

4.) 11 Jan 2023 18:56:07
VVVV bore off, you’re not only tedious but you're also wrong. Gakpo, Diaz, Nunez bought with magic dust were they? Even Ed2 said the funds are there if right player available.

If you keep posting rubbish not only are you embarrassing yourself but I and others posters who live in reality will keep calling you out.

5.) 11 Jan 2023 19:02:13
Ps if you simply want a reaction can I suggest you strip naked and run in to the local police station shouting “I’m a terrorist. ”

That should do it and give us all a break for a while!

6.) 11 Jan 2023 19:47:17
We're just going through the motion of signing a midfielder. We won't actually sign one though. Klopp nearing the end with his stubborn ways.

7.) 11 Jan 2023 19:50:39
Are you VVVV's other account?

8.) 11 Jan 2023 20:10:21
I can’t believe how positive VVVV is. He keeps going on about Liverpool playing in the Europa league next season but as per usual he’s being way too optimistic.

Anyone can see that we have the worst manager in the league, the worst squad in club football, and if we get relegated it will be too good for us.

We haven’t bought a player in that we haven’t made more than double in through sales. The stadium is decrepit and falling to pieces, we desperately need a new training facility.

We haven’t won a trophy worth winning in over 50 years for goodness sake!

I’m getting sick of all this fanciful positivity from Victor, you need to open your eyes as see the club for what it is.

{Ed025's Note - love it FF..

9.) 11 Jan 2023 20:34:41
Ouch that burns FF ?.

10.) 11 Jan 2023 21:03:25
Should be clear by now that V4 is a troll with an agenda against FSG. He even knows FSG's master plan to sell to venture capitalists. Best to ignore the nonsense and stop feeding the negative troll. My theory is its Shappy from the MU page but who knows.

11.) 11 Jan 2023 21:32:00
You don't ignore someone by talking about them. All life dies without oxygen.

12.) 11 Jan 2023 22:05:16
My theory is that VVVV is Harrys older brother ?.

13.) 11 Jan 2023 22:25:39
I think the media does it because they know Liverpool fans are hungry for news. Plus I believe VVVV gets a commission for every doomsday comment he makes on here.

14.) 11 Jan 2023 22:54:55
Took the words out of my mouth. Utter troll. He’s been asked a few times lately favourite moment and best memory of LFC and hasn’t responded. VVVV isn’t a supporter, better ignored now than dignified with a response. It is beyond boring now!

15.) 11 Jan 2023 23:09:09
The mistake you guys make is taking him seriously.
I think he's funny, he overeggs the doom and gloom scenario so much I'm left chuckling at a lot of his stuff.
Straight outta Dad's Army - "we're doomed, DOOMED! ".

16.) 12 Jan 2023 08:34:55
I think it's coincidence, Mredsky.

All this talk from V4 is just his lack of understanding. We all think we need a midfielder but he, and some others, can't understand why we don't just go and buy one. Or worse, why we don't keep buying them when he, and some others, think we should.
To simplify it even further, he, and some others, just presume that we have no money or are unwilling to spend any money. Even when we spend money.
Some people need consistency of thoughts and feelings hence the "we're crap, we're skint, don't mention the quadruple. " stuff continually churned out.

17.) 12 Jan 2023 10:12:27
Some prefer to wallow in misery. That's the glass half empty version of glass half full folks celebrating a win or a trophy.
We could win every game and every trophy and these types would still complain about a player losing out on a tackle or a throw in, or "he nearly missed that goal".
It's simply human nature for some to seek the negatives while ignoring the obvious positives that are there for everyone else to see.

18.) 12 Jan 2023 10:17:02
I think VVVV is right. The rose tinted madness on these pages are infuriating. So many of you are content or simply see the positives in anything. We’re playing absolute crap with no sign of improving. Oh 1jj fairy dust is about right because it wasn’t their own cash, hence them needing to do one.

19.) 12 Jan 2023 13:04:01
There is huge chasm between content and the overreaction of a lot fans, Moaner. A lot of us are somewhere in-between.
We all want things to get better.
Or do we? I get the feeling some fans want us to implode so they feel vindicated. And if you fear the worst, what's the worst that can happen?

09 Jan 2023 13:21:15
Liverpool have been awful to watch this season, apart from 2 games, maybe a few more.
Is it like Carra said "this isn't Klopps team" (tactics).
We used to press as a unit, as one,but now we are pressing as individuals at different times and being played right through.

Why is it our midfielders would rather give the ball to Joel Matip to run into the opposition half, leaving us vulnerable at the back, to give the ball to someone in a very crowded area. I don't know how many times it happened last night but Wolves were tactically brilliant.

What do our midfielders do?
Will the coaching team change tactics? Cdm and 2 Cbs sit at back.
Are FSG wanting to sell or just looking for investors?
If they are selling, is the price too high?
Is there any likelihood of midfielders this window because like I said after two or three matches I fear we will not attract or be able to afford the ones mentioned on here.

We may be a big club but not in the transfer league of Real, Barca, Man Utd, Man City, Newcastle, PSG, Chelsea.

So I wish the talk of all the big names in football be left to those clubs because we don't have the Financial clout or we won't be in Europe next season and when we get excited hearing some rumour you now realise it is just a pipe dream.

Mredsky

1.) 09 Jan 2023 21:44:45
When big name expensive signatures becomes more important than winning on the pitch and accumulating trophies.
Transfer fever, what it does to some eh?

2.) 10 Jan 2023 08:04:18
Not sure if you've noticed, but we've never been in the "transfer league" of those clubs lol.

08 Mar 2021 07:25:09
We are missing Henderson in midfield so much. His intensity, his aggression, his physicality. No one else give us as much in midfield. His pressing game is second to none. He starts the press.
It's one of the reasons why we are losing, he sets the tempo and he gives his own team mates crap if they are not performing.

Mredsky

1.) 08 Mar 2021 07:55:13
It is one of the reasons, I agree but there are many many other. Hendo hasn’t got near his last year’s performances either. If we listed all the reasons we would be here all day.

2.) 08 Mar 2021 08:45:03
We’ve still looked better with Henderson and Fabinho in midfield than any of the other usual (or should that be useless? ) suspects. The truth is that without either or both of them, the drop off in quality is quite alarming.

3.) 08 Mar 2021 08:50:52
Who was in midfield when we lost 7 - 2?

4.) 08 Mar 2021 10:17:41
But then you could also say who was in goal and who was in defence. The drubbing by Aston Villa essentially was the materialisation of months of underperforming. This was something that started this season, it happened last season, after the play was resumed after the first national lockdown. The impenetrable defence suddenly looked shaky as hell, and it was only because of our forwards that these glaring inadequacies were not as obvious. The excuse at the time was that we had just won the league so early, so it was understandable that we may not be motivated. However when the new season started, we only just scraped a win against Leeds in our first game and despite being top of the league before xmas, none of those wins barring the Crystal Palace game filled me with confidence.

5.) 08 Mar 2021 10:47:28
Hendo as much as I love him is in the injury prone category for me another who can't play 5+ games in a row without injury.

6.) 08 Mar 2021 11:33:20
Big this was a thread about the midfield. Hendo play against West Brom and that was the game the issues we have now first appeared. They over ran us in midfield and Hendo was no where to be seen. All the players are at fault.

7.) 08 Mar 2021 11:55:11
The Villa game was an anomaly, games like that do occasionally happen, like when United were pumped by Southampton for a similar score, but what is happening at the moment is not anomalous, we’re severely weakened by injuries to crucial players and relying on a midfield that might as well not be there given their absolute anonymity.

As far as I’m concerned Keita needs to go, he’s not good enough. Wijnaldum clearly has his head elsewhere, Milner’s legs are gone, Ox isn’t good enough to be a regular starting central midfielder, I feel a bit sorry for Thiago as walked into a mess and Curtis Jones lack of experience is being found out. Without either of Henderson or Fabinho our midfield is shambolic.

{Ed077's Note - "United were pumped by Southampton" when did that happen? A century ago?😁

8.) 08 Mar 2021 12:23:32
Markp — Henderson wasn't playing in that Villa game, if that's what you're trying to allude to. But he did play in most of the other games until the moment we fell from the top of the league. That collapse coincides, most precisely, with him moving back into central defence.

It's not the only reason for our form. I totally agree. But when you look at our results over the past couple of seasons too, they always drop when he's missing from centre mid.

08 Mar 2021 07:21:43
Milner, Ox, Gini, Shaq, got to go. Great servants but a yard too slow now.
Whenever I see Milner and Gini on the pitch I have an asthma attack, just like them.Too slow, lacking creativity, side to side, (the crab) it reminds me of the Man Utd midfield of old in the 70s and early 80s.

Who in this side can actually beat a man and get a good ball in to the box.
Robertson has forgotten there's a left side of the pitch after the half way line, always comes back inside and where does it end up...Trent who does exactly the same thing.
This team is clueless and one dimensional, going from world beaters to bang average at best.

Bobby should be midfield cam, Jota upfront, Fab holding and anyone but Miller or Gini with him. No pace, no ideas, side to side players.
Minamino had to go to Southampton because of Ozan.
What a move that was. Get him back.

The football we are playing is slow and boring, predictable and lacks any creativity.
Klopp needs to kick these players where it hurts or kick them into touch next season.
What I can't fathom at all is after beating Palace 7-0 he doesn't pick Minamino or the same team for the next match.
It all started to unravel after the Midtjylland away game when Sarah was unhappy about Trent being captain.

Mredsky

1.) 08 Mar 2021 08:21:01
In fairness to the full backs they’re not as likely to commit going forward as they’ve got no cover from midfield and the central defence is not as quick to recover.

2.) 08 Mar 2021 08:41:21
OP, what else is new? We know what the root cause of our issues are so no point pointing to this, that or the other cos the root cause is having a snowball effect. This is not rocket science.

3.) 08 Mar 2021 08:55:27
As well as blaming our midfield and other players, what about Klopp. It is his system that they are playing to, and he picks the players to perform to that system. Everyone you talk to, says he needs to change this, or change that, but he changes nothing except playing a simular player to the one he has dropped or subbed.

4.) 08 Mar 2021 09:59:18
Klopp and his system resulted in the wait being over, Waitisover.

5.) 08 Mar 2021 11:47:01
We can only attack down the flanks as our midfielders have no creativity so teams just block the flanks. Bobby should have gone ages ago he's a very average player who contributes very little aside from a few fancy touches.

We need midfielders now, not next summer.
No champions league, no midfielder worth his salt will want to come to us.
Time to sell FSG.

Totally agree, he needs games, is England best CB when MATCH fit and can assist like Trent too and at one point was the fastest in the team. One hell of a player.
