Please say the rumours about Ings aren't accurate. Out for the season with another knee injury? Awful for the player if true.

Macko

1.) 02 Nov 2016 10:58:06
It looks like it's true : ( sky sports have just confirmed.

2.) 02 Nov 2016 11:32:06
I feel bad for Ings.

3.) 02 Nov 2016 11:43:55
Wow, this lad just has no luck at all does he?

Such a huge shame, I was looking forward to his coming back into the team : (

4.) 02 Nov 2016 11:55:39
BBC confirmed too.

Life's just so rubbish sometimes.

Really feel for the lad.

5.) 02 Nov 2016 11:59:44
Gutted for him.

6.) 02 Nov 2016 13:29:26
Sickened for the poor lad, really hope he can make a full recover and play some part for the REDS in the future. Cannot fault him as he was giving 100% for the team and picks up a bad knock.
GOOD LUCK DANNY!

7.) 02 Nov 2016 14:16:28
not sure if its any good, but its not the same leg that Danny has had trouble with . I believe that he will come back once again .

8.) 02 Nov 2016 13:35:45
Gutted for him. I`m afraid Ed01`s fears came true after all. I remember him saying that he was worried about Ings` injury history when we signed him as he had incurred a bad knee injury in the past before signing for us. This is now his third horrific knee injury and I`m afraid he will go the route of Flanno, who may never be the same again due to his two bad knee injuries. I hope he makes a full recovery and plays football again. At LFC? Only time will tell.

9.) 02 Nov 2016 15:26:47
Feel for the lad, gutted for him.

10.) 02 Nov 2016 16:05:44
I always felt he was bit too eager to impress Klopp. When klopp first joined, Ings got that injury in first few training session. Professional players need to know when to hold back sometimes, klopp do appreciate enthusiasm but Klopp always point to index finger to his brains to tell his players to use brains while not lacking energy levels. Felt sorry for this lad.

11.) 02 Nov 2016 16:26:16
Leek, you're making yourself sound like a heartless d*ck. Stop with the pseudo hindsight.

12.) 02 Nov 2016 16:35:05
Lee, don't spout rubbish mate, you have no idea what has caused this or any other injury!

13.) 02 Nov 2016 16:47:34
Its like his 5th. This double blownhas happened before. Left knee then returned and right knee straight after.

14.) 02 Nov 2016 16:47:38
Zed and Puzzled, stop spouting your nonsense and twisting my words. I am just stating observation . not being mean. There's this over eagerness that may do more harm than good. It's a bit like Borini situation. Borini was so keen to stay in squad that when BR sub he into a game, he went bonkers and was one over enthusiastic in his challenges resulting in a red card. I do feel Ings has that Borini sort of bull headed eagerness.

15.) 02 Nov 2016 17:45:00
Leek you are spouting rubbish based on conjecture, then assuming your rubbish is fact you then go on to make statements about that 'fact'.

I'm not twisting your words, just pointing out that they are garbage.

However, you're right, I should stop. You have been told the same thing by eds and posters alike and still spit the same guff!

As Joey once said, even pigeons learn fast than you!

Hey ho, live and let live!

16.) 03 Nov 2016 00:08:09
This is incredibly sad news for Danny Ings I wish him a speedy recovery not only physically but mentally as this set back coming so soon after being fit again must be mentally so tough to take . Get well soon Danny.

17.) 03 Nov 2016 02:10:15
Lee, stop using that nick, tarnishing the name of one of the greatest leaders in history.

18.) 03 Nov 2016 05:19:00
Lee, so "Bullheaded eagerness" led to the injury? Well, at least you are predictably consistent. With utter nonsense, complete garbage and moronic idiocy. I admire your Bullheaded eagerness with it.

19.) 03 Nov 2016 08:14:50
Ings can only get better, I suppose.

20.) 03 Nov 2016 09:15:48
In poor taste, Damo, but did make me chuckle for a minute!

I see Harry Kane has written to UEFA tonight to try lay claim to the opening goal for Croatia earlier today!

Macko

1.) 29 Jun 2021 04:31:46
Its crazy how poor he has been but not a word about that from his friends in the media, he has talked the talk but has not walked the walk. ( so far) .

2.) 29 Jun 2021 07:26:09
I swear on my kids life!
The guy is clearly a top class goal scorer, can't deny that. Maybe he's not fit or whatever, but just like the huge mistake spurs made playing him against us in the CL final, there's no chance he won't start.
Who would other posters play in England's attack?

3.) 29 Jun 2021 08:17:30
The England setup does not suit him and that much is clear. Kane is a top player but needs everything to go thru him offensively and since England don’t even play fluid attacking football, how’s he supposed to perform esp in a tournament situation? There’s your problem right there.

Have you ever tried to break up with someone you have been with for a long time? You feel that the time has come to move on and that you can maybe do better elsewhere.

But when you actually have the conversation with them, they get so upset with you that you have second thoughts. You don't want to upset them, or their friends/ family, and you agree to give it another shot.

So you get back to some kinda normality. Go for meals, nights out, cinema etc. But you both know, in the back of your minds, that one of you just doesn't have the heart in it anymore.

Worse still, if the dumpee decides to give the dumper a hard time, punishing them for the episode what will happen? Well the Dumper is probably going to become even more dis-illusioned with the relationship. Possibly start courting other interests on the side. And when the next opportunity arises, finally bite the bullet and finish things for good.

I believe FSG, and the other elite owners, have only one plan for the future. Their first 2 attempts to end the relationship have failed. But I'm guessing it is going to happen eventually. Especially if the Premier League, UEFA and FIFA sanction/ punish the breakaway clubs. I doubt this is the last of this.

I hope your bird doesn’t read this site mate. 🤣.

2.) 21 Apr 2021 13:46:29
Say you’ve been some hard break up macko!

3.) 21 Apr 2021 13:09:43
I personally enjoyed reading about "dumpers" and "dumpees" this morning. Helped lift my general mood!

Thank you, kind sir!

4.) 21 Apr 2021 17:37:17
Mikey, I ended up leaving for the Brazilian Super League so it all worked out grand in the end!

07 Mar 2021 11:27:15
My drastically changed team for today.

Ali
Trent Philips Kabak Tsimikas
Millie Fab Keita
Salah Jota Jones

I know it's way out there, but the lads who have done so much for us in the last 3 years are so out of form it's gone beyond a joke now. Give them a rest and see what the bench can do.

Macko

1.) 07 Mar 2021 11:44:08
Whilst I agree with your sentiment I don't think Keita deserves a place, I would prefer Ox or Shaq in his place.

2.) 07 Mar 2021 11:51:16
No chance. kabak is injured!

3.) 07 Mar 2021 12:00:15
Keita should play IMO I think he will surprise you. Put it this way he can't possibly be any worse. Maybe he will run forward and he might even have a shot!

4.) 07 Mar 2021 12:21:00
i really do not see the logic in people wanting to see Keita in the team, he was a poor player in a really good team, so I don't know what people expect from him playing in a bad team.

5.) 07 Mar 2021 12:21:56
Keita will last 55 mins or less and force a sub unless his fitness is trusted 100% he shouldn’t start.

6.) 07 Mar 2021 12:25:06
Depends who is available. But I can’t help thinking Bobby and Mane deserve to be dropped.
Personally I’d play Fabinho in midfield and throw Ben Davis in with Philips if he’s fit.

7.) 07 Mar 2021 12:25:49
Im not sure picking kabak over Davies is any better. why not give Davies a chance and see? I tnk kabaks out injured anyway.

8.) 07 Mar 2021 12:45:11
OP You would drop robo! Why?

9.) 07 Mar 2021 12:50:56
I see no changes unless a player is injured. Same front three same midfield three amd same defence, with the exception of Kabak who I think is unavailable. It just feels now that Klopp is saying look at what I have to work with give me more. Ideally I would like to see ( as Kabak is injured) Alison, TAA, Fab, Philips, Tsimkas, Milner, Ox, Jones, Shaq, Mo, Jota. But im not sure we will see much change.

10.) 07 Mar 2021 12:53:58
The will more than likely be:

Ali
TAA Fabs Philips Robbo
Gini Thiago Milner
Mane Salah Bobby

I hope I’m wrong but I don’t see anything else happening.

11.) 07 Mar 2021 13:05:00
Well, we got a substantially changed team lads:

Alisson, Neco, Rhys, Phillips, Robertson, Wijnaldum, Milner, Keita, Shaqiri, Jota, Salah.

12.) 07 Mar 2021 13:08:03
Kajak is injured so there is that. Keita should only come on as a sub and Mane should b dropped for Jota. Would drop Bobbie too but who starts in his place?

13.) 07 Mar 2021 13:17:03
He doesn’t want Fab injured again. Also Davis must be injured again. Williams and Phillips fingers crossed.

14.) 07 Mar 2021 13:19:07
Well at least he made changes, although Firmino is injured and so is Davies and Kabak. I thought we wouldn’t see Rhys Williams in the starting line up again but two central defenders in defence, Jota starts and Shaq so I’m positive. Surely can’t be any worse than it has been and I fancy us to beat them quite comfortably.

15.) 07 Mar 2021 13:19:41
Something Red
It looks like he has players playing in their correct positions, now let's see how it works out.
Looks like he has an eye on the next game.

16.) 07 Mar 2021 13:53:48
Longthing,

My thoughts on dropping Robbo wasn't so much that he has been playing bad. It was more the desire just so to see different personnel on the pitch and see if things could be different to what the 'normal 11' are doing.

I also think Robbo is one of the core players who never gets a seconds rest.

Looking at the line-up since I posted originally and I see Gini is back in again. He must be flying in training! Could do with him showing up today.

17.) 07 Mar 2021 14:40:11
Phillip will play centre back with Fabinho. Don’t know why we’re even discussing this.

08 Jan 2021 18:47:08
Does the Gini contract situation remind anyone a little bit of the Emre Can situation? Contract has been offered, JK wants the player to stay, but still nothing happening.

I'm guessing the situation has probably been pretty much resolved but don't want to announce anything for fear of backlash whilst Gini is still at the club.

I hope I'm wrong. I like Gini and this season he has been playing really well.

Macko

1.) 08 Jan 2021 19:05:52
There are similarities Macko.

However, I think the key differences in the negotiations are probably different given that Can was in his early-mid 20s whereas Gini is 30, so contract length has likely been the sticking point with Gini.

2.) 08 Jan 2021 20:13:50
Can was a fringe player, whereas Gini is a stalwart.

3.) 08 Jan 2021 21:46:01
And like Can Gini is replaceable.

4.) 08 Jan 2021 22:05:17
But given the reluctance to move Keita, Thiago coming in, Jones and Minamino coming in and all the others where they are; our midfield is pretty much at capacity. I think the decision has already been made for Wijnaldum to move on. Any minute now we should start seeing rumours of him agreeing a pre-contract with someone or another.

I don't quite get it. If Milner can play for us at 35, why can't Wijnaldum at a slightly lesser age (he's only 30)? Four straight seasons that he has been the midfielder with the most minutes played. I just think it's important to keep this group together for at least another year or two; as long as possible. And Wijnaldum has that winners attitude. He scored that goal tonight but he was actually scowling right after; at the affront of being held in check by under 23 kids.

5.) 08 Jan 2021 23:39:17
Gini was poor tonight I thought. Those type of games don’t suit him, zero creativity.

6.) 09 Jan 2021 03:50:45
I know this won't be popular but he can go for me, I really don't mind. I mean this in no disrespectful way to the lad of course but he's one player, any player can be replaced and I think it's gone on long enough the fans wondering what is happening with him. He needs to make up his mind and stop buggering about. I like him, he's a good player but I'd be more gutted if we were talking about Hendo, Fab or Thiago right now. I hope he can stay with us, I do, but I do not like how this has dragged on, not one bit. You either want to be with us or you don't, if he did, something would've been sorted before now. He's as good as gone imo.

I was just thinking, to save some time in future, referees should get Man United's mandatory penalty kick out of the way in the warm up, before the game starts. That way we don't have to disruption the flow of the game when they are obviously awarded one during the game.

Macko

1.) 21 Oct 2020 00:01:55
Lol bitter. I watched a Merseyside derby at the weekend. Had the standard tasty challenges, a sending off, a late goal ruled out for offside using straight lines. Ends in a draw. Let's move on.

2.) 21 Oct 2020 05:46:10
To be fair it was a stone wall penalty that PSG gave away, it is funny the number of penalties they win but if there's a foul there is no grounds to whinge that they get fortunate gifts from the ref.

3.) 21 Oct 2020 11:01:56
Spot on, Har_red92. If a clear penalty happens, that is NOT a gift from the ref. It is should be awarded cos that is the law and what the other team deserves. Justice done.

4.) 21 Oct 2020 11:19:23
They just keep taking them until they score!

What did you make of the penalty-taking decisions ed? Obviously its easy in hindsight but I thought Southgate was just trying to be too clever. Sterling, Grealish and even Henderson surely would have handled the situation a little better. Even Luke Shaw, who was probably England's player of the tournament. Feel sorry for the young English lads who missed. Tough way to lose. Italy were probably the tournament's best team so well deserved.

Macko

{Ed025's Note - as we know macko penalties are a lottery, the guys who took them must have put themselves forward and so i dont have a problem with the picks, these guys are playing at the highest level and im sure that in training they scored quite frequently, the last thing you want is a player who doesn,t fancy it taking one mate..

A very good point by kingkenny there. Our rivals could have ensured that this was a disastrous season for us.

They didn't however. And coupled with our amazing finish to the season, we can move on to next season with some positivity and excitement.

Because no matter why Sky Sports say, the Premier League is not the best league in the world. As you say hsf, how could we still be the 3rd best team in the country given our New Year form.

To lose, at home, to very poor teams like Fulham, Burnley, Everton etc you could argue that we didn't deserve to qualify. But that old saying, the table doesn't lie, has to apply here too. We got the points on the board.

What you can say for definite is that the 3/ 4 teams behind us are clearly very poor. Suits me tho! Chuffed to bits we made it into Top 3! On to next season!

Thats gas Barry! I remember we had it as well (it must have been cheap to get the channels in Ireland at the time! ) .

I was raging we didn't win! Didn't know who Sheringham was but never liked him from that day on!
