According to many people on here and on Twitter, and despite our squad being desperately thin due to C.V./ Injuries/ AFCON, we are selling Phillips, Gomez, Kieta, Ox, Origi, Taki, and Mane in January.

Seems abit wild but the apparent £1Billion we're going to get for them all will do nicely I guess.

Surely FSG are going to get Jurgen on the rebuild before he leaves. If so that will involved a big clear out and a few top drawer signings. I can see all of those names leaving, only not this Jan.

2.) 06 Jan 2022 20:53:38
More likely to see a managed decline than rebuild.

3.) 06 Jan 2022 21:11:18
Always look on the bright side of life.

4.) 07 Jan 2022 09:53:44
We live in an age of state owned football clubs and contrived sponsorship deals, not a lot to be cheerful or positive about there.

16 Dec 2021 12:03:48
So where are all the Jan transfer rumours!?

Phillips almost certainly heading out, think that'll be it for outgoings?

Can't think of anyone that's been linked for an incoming, Traore a couple of times perhaps.

I actually think the squad is in great shape at the moment, would only be interested in a player who could genuinely compete for a place in our front 3.

Gutted for Curtis, out for a number of weeks with a freak eye injury but not expected to have any long-term damage.
Just a really unfortunate injury for a player who was working himself into the team in a big season for him.
Fingers crossed he's able to play a big part in the season still.

Last week of the window, predications anyone?

Coutinho to Liverpool
Saul to Chelsea
Ronaldo to Man United
Mbappe to Madrid

What a window that'd be!

Maximosa

1.) 24 Aug 2021 16:37:12
if we can't afford Saul wage how could we afford Coutinho's his on more.

2.)

{Ed077's Note - and not even half the player that Saul is IMO}

3.) 24 Aug 2021 17:13:00
Not even a quarter the player Saul is, Ed.

{Ed077's Note - probably..

4.) 24 Aug 2021 18:12:48
Would rather give that game time to Elliott and Jones than bring in Coutinho. Ideal world would see Bissouma or Saul come in but between the transfer fee of one and the wages of the other, the chances are looking slim.

5.) 24 Aug 2021 18:13:53
I don't mind pipco and I guess he would be taking a hefty wage cut to come. I don't think he would be daft enough to think he could command the same wages he is on.

6.) 24 Aug 2021 18:38:47
Thing is Irish, whatever he’s paid it would be a waste of a salary and a non home grown place. We’d have to almost entirely change the way we play to accommodate a player who quite honestly isn’t all that. Where do you play him, certainly not midfield, he couldn’t knock the skin off a rice pudding much less press anyone, you couldn’t play him up top as he’s too slow, he definitely isn’t number nine material and we don’t play with a “classic number 10”. He’s been ineffective for the last year at Barca, plus age and injury doesn’t mprove players…signing him would be sentimental nonsense.

7.) 24 Aug 2021 17:48:40
Have Liverpool been offered Saul on loan as well as Chelsea eds2?

{Ed002's Note - At this point in time there are just the three clubs interested.}

8.) 24 Aug 2021 18:50:18
By "what a window" I don't necessarily mean it as a good thing, I just mean it'd be abit mad!

9.) 24 Aug 2021 19:18:44
I understand totally why people don't want Coutinho, he acted disgracefully! but this selective memory that he was anything but a huge danger for us and one of our best players is crazy. On a loan, on terms that suit US, i'd take him.

10.) 24 Aug 2021 19:37:44
Jadon, that was over three years ago. He’s past his sell by date now. All we’d be getting is an over the hill injury prone has been on £150000 a week for the privilege. Even then, where does he fit in? He certainly doesn’t fit into our current system and it would be stupid to change something for a player who isn’t even world class.

11.) 24 Aug 2021 20:12:32
Younger than Bobby and same age as Sadio, who as much as i love them have both struggled for form for maybe 18 months now. would you say they are over the hill has beens?

12.) 24 Aug 2021 20:44:35
If they were playing elsewhere and being offered to us, yes I would say over the hill and avoid, as I would for any player 29 or over and hadn’t been in good form for some time.

There’s no mileage in signing players at 29/ 30 unless they are bonafide world class and still in very good form. In Pipco’s specific case, he’s neither, he’s been rubbish for the last three years, it also doesn’t help that he literally doesn’t fit in anywhere to our current system. Notwithstanding the fact he’s a rat and the only beneficiary of the transaction would be Barcelona.

If we end up wasting money on pipco and Saul Niguez ends up at either United or Chelsea that would be a huge self own.

13.) 24 Aug 2021 21:15:37
On loan for a year. he's 29 not 40.

14.) 25 Aug 2021 07:27:21
I also think bringing in a central midfielder will limit Jones and elliots playing time more than bringing in Coutinho. Couts plays either central attack mid which we don’t cater for or left side. Jones and Elliot seem to be being readied to take over the box to box roles in the central mid roles going forward. I do wish Klopp would play Elliot on the left and Jones on the right though. Same for Keita playing on the right side. He always looks better I feel playing that side.

15.) 25 Aug 2021 08:54:34
Cou is no longer welcome here, IMO. We are 3/ 4 times better than the team he played in so waste of money and wages and most of all, I wouldn’t want his back injury to happen again so yeah BUT a hard NO.

16.) 24 Aug 2021 21:15:37
On loan for a year. he's 29 not 40.

17.) 25 Aug 2021 07:22:12
I wouldn’t be against taking him on loan to be honest to see how he performs and make a logical decision from there depending on how he performs. There’s no-one coming through in the attacking positions who he would block and would likely be more effective as a squad player than Origi or Taki if we are looking to offload those players. That said I wouldn’t be against either of those players being given more opportunities if we are not going to offload them.

14 Aug 2021 16:37:21
Good lad Woodburn making the bench today, know he's probably only in because others are out but he's apparently impressed a lot in preseason, maybe he'll be a nice little squad player for us this year and make some cup appearances.

Maximosa

1.) 15 Aug 2021 00:08:25
He is one of those good eggs I want to see be successful albeit with us or anywhere because he’s never complained never been arrogant just had real bad luck and hopefully can prove why everyone bet on him at the age of 17.

2.) 15 Aug 2021 01:20:39
He seems like a really good lad and credit to whoever is guiding him - bit of a contrast with the support that. Bobby Duncan is getting.

Buzzin for Sadio and Mo that one of them will win AFCON, trying to work out who I'd rather win.

I want Mo to win the Ballon d'Or and winning AFCON will increase his chances massively.

I feel like Sadio has been forgotten about by a lot of fans who have moved on from him despite all he's done for us, it would be nice for him to get the chance to shine and get a little personal victory.

Either way I'll be watching and cheering both lads on!

Maximosa

1.) 04 Feb 2022 10:26:41
Yeah, Sadio is past his peak but still a top player, Diaz will have his work cut out to take his place, I would also say that he’s played better than Mo from what I have seen this AFCON and would guess he would win player of the tournament if Senegal win?

2.) 04 Feb 2022 11:05:00
Put it this way if Mane or Salah go up for sale in the summer at hugely reduced prices because of their contract situations there will be clubs not only in England but all over Europe tripping over themselves trying to get them.

Regardless of how old they are.

3.) 04 Feb 2022 13:18:05
Still d best in their positions for me, even Manè i would still put ahead of Sterling, Werner et all.

4.) 04 Feb 2022 13:18:52
In fairness to Salah, Manè is playing in a far better side.

5.) 04 Feb 2022 13:53:41
No matter who wins they both win.

6.) 04 Feb 2022 13:54:07
I think i’d rather Senegal win. They’ve never won the competition before and Mane has spoken about how much it would mean for him to win it, i think he went as far as to say it would be the highlight of his career. Egypt on the other hand are the record winners of the competition. While i do want Mo to win the Balon D’or i don’t think his form for the rest of the season will be affected by a loss in the AFCON final, but i do hope that if Senegal can win then Mane will be fired up for the rest of the season. He’s been poor recently and we need him to be really up for it if we are to challenge on all fronts, even if he does leave in the summer.

7.) 04 Feb 2022 14:22:35
I'm with you AW, would really like Mane and Senegal to finally get their hands on the trophy.

8.) 04 Feb 2022 15:21:24
That might be because Sadio has a half decent team around him but Mo is the brightest spark in a much duller team. I’m just musing over the thought of one instinctively setting up the other one to score - be entertaining for an onlooker but maybe not for them 🤨🤣.

9.) 04 Feb 2022 16:39:04
I think from a selfish LFC viewpoint I would prefer Mane to win. I think that his form has been inconsistent and that his confidence gets knocked a bit more easily than Salah’s. A loss I think Mo will brush off but Mane perhaps not and we need him back to his best. I personally think that Mane at consistent peak form is a match for Salah but we just aren’t seeing it currently.

10.) 04 Feb 2022 19:54:48
I seen mane miss the goal, or score goals that are then offside lol, but I don't think I've seen him appear out of confidence.

Anyways I want Mane and Senegal to win. Be nice for Mane who doesn't get enough credit for what he does for our team and is obviously a Rocester in Senegal on and off the pitch. Hopefully a 2-2 with both our boys scoring or assisting and then Senegal win it on pens.

11.) 05 Feb 2022 08:36:38
Watching Egypt really makes me appreciate our full backs and how much they allow Salah to shine. Just shows, being the best in the world means nothing without great team mates and a quality manager.

{Ed025's Note - fair point that stuie..

12.) 05 Feb 2022 22:09:06
Rooting for Senegal to win their first AFCON. Egypt already have 7 of those.

01 Feb 2022 07:52:53
Anyone have concerns about Williams going out on loan? Leaves us Bradley and Gomez at RB cover for the rest of the season.

I've always liked Williams and in a different time I think we would have been more excited about him, unfortunately he's behind TAA!

Hoping he has a great rest of the season with Fulham, he'll be playing on the same side as Wilson who he'll know well obviously. Onwards and upwards for the lad!

Also. Maybe he'll sweet talk Fabio and make sure he joins in the summer.

Maximosa

1.) 01 Feb 2022 08:03:11
So his loan to Fulham was put through?

2.) 01 Feb 2022 08:30:13
We have Gomez, Bradley, Konate and at a push Fabs who can fill in. I think if Neco comes back next season his place as back-up to TAA might actually have been taken by Bradley or perhaps van den Berg even.

{Ed077's Note - don't forget Milner WDW :-D

3.) 01 Feb 2022 08:57:15
Yep Magico, he's at Fulham for the rest of the season.

4.) 01 Feb 2022 08:58:58
Nah, we have Bradley, Gomez, Konate, Milner, Ox, Fabinho, Henderson who have all played at right back at some point in their career so plenty ofoptions if anything happens to TAA.

5.) 01 Feb 2022 09:09:03
OP, I don't. The club must have had a plan in mind before they let him go out on loan. These things are already mapped out, man. The club knows what it's doing.

6.) 01 Feb 2022 09:20:32
Yeah went through last minute Magico. I don't see it as a concern, it will be good for him to get game time and put himself on the market.

7.) 01 Feb 2022 10:22:12
Babbity Rabbity, yes we have those players, who have all played there sometimes, but in my opinion Neco is the player who plays in the same style as TAA. That would mean, that we don't have to alter our system.

8.) 01 Feb 2022 10:58:08
But even when Trent was out Williams hardly played. Milly and Gomez are ahead of him in the pecking order for the RB slot.
Plus the kid needs minutes to show if he can make it as a Liverpool player. I don’t see him going out on loan as a problem, quite the contrary.

9.) 01 Feb 2022 11:06:31
Jota, we have taken bigger risks with the squad in the past like with the centre backs last season and the forward line this January so I'm not too worried. If Neco had stayed, he'd have hardly played as the League cup is effectively done, the FA Cup will progress to the harder rounds soon and the Champions League group stages are done. It's mostly TAA territory from here on.

31 Jan 2022 18:52:43
Liverpool to sign Dele Alli last minute just to send Everton and Lampard into meltdown.

Alli to then become a prime Gerrard under Klopp.

Heard it here first!

Maximosa

{Ed0666's Note - you have a dark side mate 😂

1.) 31 Jan 2022 19:00:29
If Klopp can turn Alli into prime Gerrard, he can turn Elliott into prime Maradona 😂.

{Ed0666's Note - and scouse into caviar

2.) 31 Jan 2022 19:50:08
40 million is crazy money add ons or not. Thought he’d have gone for about 15/ 20 max. Also 2 and a half year deal. Seems crazy to risk spending Upto 40 million if all clauses hit and then he leaves on a free. Very strange business imo.

3.) 31 Jan 2022 21:04:12
I would have taken a punt on Dele. There's a cracking player in there that's lost his way, and I reckon Klopp could have made very good use of him.
But he's gone to the footballer's graveyard instead.
It'll be interesting to see if Lampard can rejuvinate his stalled career, or whether he ends up like Delph and the others who disappeared into obscurity across the park.

4.) 31 Jan 2022 21:19:11
Remember a few seasons ago when Everton spent a window just signing number 10’s.

Good to see they’ve learnt their lesson 🤦🏻‍♂️.

5.) 31 Jan 2022 21:41:52
What are Everton at, £40 mil for a player not in form and whos club have said that they want rid of. Can somebody give them a ring across the park and tell them to cop on to themselves.

6.) 31 Jan 2022 22:09:30
Yep it’s crazy business. Especially when they just got dvb from United. Doubt they will fit both in the side and tbh Dele has lost the plot. Plenty chances to sort himself out but his heads clearly not in it anymore.

Could have improved with a coach like Klopp but no chance under lampard. Not an Everton hater but just strange business. Better off getting lingard than the two they got.

7.) 31 Jan 2022 22:11:52
Dele Alli is a big time Charlie and lazy as f***. Not a player I’d want at Anfield.

{Ed0666's Note - you’d want him at Goodison tho 😂

8.) 01 Feb 2022 09:06:06
Feel bad for Rafa. They gave him scraps to work with. Sacked him before he could use any big-money signings. Now they're all ready for Billy Big B's Frank Lampard and all his worldly experience to use.

25 Jan 2022 18:45:36
Let's buy Thomas Muller!

Not a rumour, just thought he'd be a fun signing for a season or two.

The kinda signing you'd make in Champ Manager when you've got £500m to spend each season and just start throwing money around for fun.

Anyone else you'd happily waste some money on for a season or two? Modric maybe?

Maximosa

1.) 25 Jan 2022 19:37:26
Let's not, but we can say we did.

2.) 25 Jan 2022 19:59:04
Strangely as im not a fan at all mainly due to his strop in the summer id love to see Mr Kane up top between Mane and Mo. never happen in a million but given the post that would be my shout
I think he'd get bags full for us.

3.) 25 Jan 2022 21:28:05
Funnily enough, I’d also take Muller. His game has never been about pace but being in the right place at the right time and he’s been pulling the strings up front for Bayern this season, could do a job if Firmino moves on.

4.) 26 Jan 2022 14:55:06
Surely lewandowski is the 1 for us.

21 Jan 2022 13:25:03
Starting to wonder how long we can keep hold of Kelleher, I think he's proving himself to be a very good goalkeeper, I can't remember him ever really make a big mistake or having a poor game.

As a number 2 he's great for us but he'll be 24 this year and you'd imagine he'll be thinking about being 1st choice somewhere else.

Do we let him go on loan for a couple of years?

Do we sell him with a clever buy back clause?

Do we just accept Ali is number 1 and sell the lad and replace him with the next in line.

I'm a huge fan of Kelleher but am somewhat resigned to him not being around for too much longer, our current 1st choice may well be so for the next 3-5 years!

Maximosa

1.) 21 Jan 2022 15:28:01
I think the ideas to get the young Brazilian to be the long term successor to Allison.

{Ed0666's Note - I agree I think the Brazilian kid is being groomed for the No 1 slot. No chance we can keep hold of Kelleher he’s just too good for a no 2.

2.) 21 Jan 2022 17:19:01
I can’t believe our young goalkeeper is being groomed 👀. I suppose Prince Andrew needed a new job after losing his royal one.

3.) 21 Jan 2022 17:23:33
That's the kid that Becker picked himself so there must something about him and yes the young Cork man is way too good to be a back up.

4.) 21 Jan 2022 17:32:09
This Brazilian lad, pitaluga think his name is, must be very highly regarded?

5.) 22 Jan 2022 12:59:51
Digger, Pitaluga is Ali’s handpicked recommendation hence, he got signed. Highly rated? Absolutely.

Would be strange, we don't really need him right now?

Fulham are pushing for promotion so won't want him to leave for cheap.

And he wouldn't be in the first team straight away would he? Feels like it'd make much more sense to pick him up in the summer. Unless maybe both Div and Mina are off?

Would love to see him at Brighton, well run club, good position, and under the radar enough he won't be under too much pressure.

Think he could do a job at most places to be fair but worry he would be a stop gap at Newcastle until they can buy a £50m CB.

It's got to be Mo right?

4 years probably at the top, already proven, fits in the team etc.

In 3-5 years time we'll buy another fit in the circa £50m area I imagine and develop that player.

We're starting to build a really solid team and with good young options too. I think Mo has earned some loyalty so I'll keep him over any other player in the world right now.

It's a big shame that Gomez has been dropped back out of the side, if you listen to interviews with players where they're asked who the fasted player in the team is then you'll hear the majority say that actually Gomez and VVD are our faster players, for the high line we insist on you'd think those two are perfect together with their recovery pace.

I like Matip but he is kinda slow and his heading does seem to be poor, certainly on attacking corners!

I have a feeling Gomez will leave at some point which I'll be gutted about to be honest.
