I guess the French F.A. look after their teams. PSG 2 games in 10 days. LFC 4 games in 10 days.
12 Apr 2026 12:45:09
I don't think it matters how often we play, Robby.
Agree2
12 Apr 2026 12:51:33
Aside from PSG, the French League is not a serious league - they need to do everything they can to maximize PSG's chances of winning as it benefits their coefficient, something other French teams will not be particularly upset about.
The Premier League, on the other hand, simply won't get away with favouring one team over another as the league is very competitive.
The PL's strength definitely hinders its club's chances in Europe, but the other leagues generate chump change in comparison because nobody much cares.
Agree2
12 Apr 2026 12:59:21
Slightly moved goal posts there, mate.
PSG also played their cup game on the Friday, so it's PSG 3 games in 12 days and Liverpool 4 games in 11 days.
Agree0
12 Apr 2026 14:28:37
PSG will come in to the game cold.
We will come in after a 2-0 home win with Salah scoring and young Rio tearing it up.

12 Apr 2026 15:27:09
Only for Slot to bench them, Ron. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
12 Apr 2026 11:30:04.
Salah and Robbo have confirmed they are leaving but there's a few others who will be out of contract come the summer or in 2027.
2026:-
Woodman
Rhys Williams
Konate (perhaps re-signing)
2027:-
Calvin Ramsay
Joe Gomez
VVD
Wataro Endo
Bajcetic
Curtis Jones
Do we keep any of those?
Jones and Bajcetic would count as home-grown so if moved on would count as pure profit.
12 Apr 2026 12:46:56
It's important we tie Rhys Williams down. That's it, just tie him down.
Agree2
{Ed001's Note - he can afford to pay someone to cut the ropes unfortunately. He seems to spend most of his life jetting off around the world in a private jet.}
12 Apr 2026 13:03:42
I'd give Jones a new contract, decent squad player. If we could get any sort of fee for Bajcetic, Endo and Ramsay this summer, then I think we should.
Gomez for me stays until his contract is up as versatile cover (when fit).
Agree2
12 Apr 2026 13:26:52
Is that right, Ed? Unkinbelievable! The phrase stole a living applies to him. I'm struggling to think of a more useless player who's earnt so much money. I'm being serious. He couldn't cut it at Kidderminster or Morecambe. It's not his fault he's useless, and equally it's not his fault someone saw fit to pay him a ridiculous wage. Get rid ASAP.
Agree1
{Ed001's Note - Edwards gave him a beautiful contract for him. His Instagram is regularly him jetting off via private jet that he hires via some concierge service, so it won't even be a cheap deal.}
I see it as below. It’s gonna be real tight. Ultimately, I think we are marginally better than Chelsea and will finish 5th
Liverpool-
Everton away - Draw
Palace home - Win
Utd away - Loss
Chelsea home - Win
Villa away - Draw
Brentford home - Draw
9 Points
Utd:-
Leeds home - Win
Chelsea away - Draw
Brentford home - Draw
Liverpool home - Win
Sunderland away - Win
Forest home - Win
Brighton away - Loss
14 Points
Villa:-
Forest away - Draw
Sunderland home - Win
Fulham away - Draw
Spurs home - Win
Burnley away - Win
Liverpool home - Draw
City away - Loss
11 Points
Chelsea:-
City home - Loss
Utd home - Draw
Brighton away - Loss
Forest home - Win
Liverpool away - Loss
Spurs home - Win
Sunderland away - Draw
8 Points
The Premier League is dire right now though, it’s extremely poor.
12 Apr 2026 08:36:35
If we could win our 3 home games, which includes beating Chelsea, I think that would clinch 5th. Unless Chelsea won today and got a lift out of it, I don't really see them winning too many either.
Don't see us getting too many points in our away games. Think Everton+ Utd be licking their lips at playing us now. Villa, maybe if still in Europa at that stage, might be doable to pick up something there.

Final League table never lies. You finish where you deserve to finish.
If we finish outside of the CL places then the manager and players will have no one to blame but themselves.
Agree20
12 Apr 2026 09:14:02
I don't feel confident with many of our games, to be honest.
There's some tricky ones there.
Liverpool has always managed to raise their game when we have really needed to in the past, but that's always been inspired by an inspiring manager.
I know Slot gets pelters already, and I do feel a bit harsh saying it, but the man's about as dull and uninspiring as you can get. So it's up to the players and the fans to get this one over the line.
Agree11
12 Apr 2026 10:15:57
Last year we would expect to win all those except maybe draws against Chelsea and Utd.
Agree1
12 Apr 2026 10:22:01
Fully agree, JK.
Agree2
12 Apr 2026 10:29:27
I think we'll scrape fifth. There'll be a lot of pressure on the derby, because of that I think we'll get a point. Man Utd away also a high pressure fixture that the club can't afford to lose. Nothing to do with CL, more to do with pride.
Agree2
12 Apr 2026 10:39:16
We'll win all 6 of those games.
Agree5
12 Apr 2026 11:25:45
Is that one of Ron's cryptic sarcasm points? Either way, that ain't happening.
Agree4
12 Apr 2026 11:48:23
This season, there is no predicting any of those results, for any of those teams.
Agree1
12 Apr 2026 12:03:00
Ron, you need to look at odds, mate, for winning those 6 games and going through to CL semi. I'd imagine they'd be huge.
Get some money on it.

12 Apr 2026 12:06:39
I was looking at the stats and Villa have massively overperformed their xG since their terrible start. They aren't a particularly creative team to begin with and have scored a lot of low percentage chances from outside the box (Morgan Rogers on his insane hot streak comes to mind).
Their middling form of late (though, to be fair, they have also had some injuries) shows that it might all be catching up to them now.
12 Apr 2026 08:00:07
I would love to see a performance on Wednesday vs PSG, just something that shows we can go 5 or 6 games without a defeat and with a show of unity within the team.
If the players don’t rate Slot, they should still pull together and play for each other.
Yesterday was a decent start, and I’m not that interested in whether we beat PSG or go through on Wednesday, as we are not winning the CL. I’m more interested if we can show some proper fight and take three points at the Hill D******* Stadium next weekend.
I watched around 25 mins of the Everton game yesterday. They are wide open at the back, but slow methodical football won’t be the answer. High energy aggressive football against 025 lot is the way to unsettle them. Pickford is guaranteed to balls up at some point too, as he did yesterday a couple of times.
12 Apr 2026 09:12:41
Shughes, it's a tough one. It's like being between a rock and a hard place.
PSG on Tuesday night will be a huge ask, and if things go our way, it could even be 120 mins of football, whilst Everton get a full 8 days to prepare.
Agree3
12 Apr 2026 09:54:53
It won't be 120 minutes of football, that's for sure, JK. But, I do hope we put some heart and fight into it! Not the excuse of football we offered last week.
Agree4
12 Apr 2026 10:40:07
I think we win 3-1 on the night and take them on pens with Marmadash the hero.

12 Apr 2026 10:53:32
You're remarkably upbeat.
Agree2
12 Apr 2026 11:04:27
I'm with Ron on this one. We'll beat PSG on pens.
PSG to rue the day that they missed so many chances against us in the 1st leg.
Agree1
12 Apr 2026 11:36:35
Thinking we'll beat PSG is comical. Clearly, people are forgetting that the 2-0 win should have been 6-0. We were extremely lucky. Ignorance is bliss, I suppose.
Agree3
12 Apr 2026 12:05:55
Well, I remember Messi, Suarez and Coutinho's Barcelona thrashing us 3-0 in the Camp Nou and Salah and Bobby missing the second leg.
Stranger things have happened.
Agree4
12 Apr 2026 12:09:29
Yeah, Chewy, so? They should have beaten us 5-0 in the home leg last year and we beat them 1-0. I guess the players and coach should just pack it in and write a letter to UEFA saying we aren't going to show up because there's not a chance we're going to get anything out of the game.
We aren't going to set up the way we did in the away leg at Anfield. For better or worse, I think that's pretty much a guarantee.
Agree0
12 Apr 2026 12:14:37
And Jurgen was in charge then, Ron. And the team was fit. And the team was connected. And the supporters were connected. And the team had heart and commitment. And and and and.. etc.. different scenarios altogether.
Agree1
12 Apr 2026 13:38:40
Yeah, Ron, and we had a better manager, better fitness and a better everything.
Agree1
12 Apr 2026 14:31:02
The supporters will be on it against PSG at Anfield.
I don't see this as being Mo Salah's last CL game at Anfield or his last CL game for Liverpool.
You'll see the Salah of last season imo.
We could even win on aggregate now, I think about it.
12 Apr 2026 02:14:52
The more I watch Wirtz, the more it feels like Naby Keita. Constantly waiting for him to do something ‘special’, he gets about 80% of the way there, then skies it into row Z, plays a poor pass, or gets thrown off the ball like a toddler. He will be detrimental next season too. If Macca goes, we will have an even poorer version of him in Wirtz to replace him next season. At least Macca shows a bit of dog in him, Wirtz is just a passenger 90% of the time. I’ve seen absolutely nothing of this mythical ’generational talent’ that we are supposed to have bought.
Because we’ve spent so much money on him, we are going to spend the next few years waiting for him to come good, getting excited by the odd game he does something good, but ultimately be let down.
He will be the new Keita. His attitude and absolute lack of fight, urgency or any kind of passion to change a game is infuriating. Him and Ekitike are two who you just want to shake out of their slumber.
I think one of the reasons people are so desperate for Alonso is because they think he will suddenly change Wirtz into a world class star. In reality he just looked good because he was playing in a league where he had 7-21 business days to make a decision on the ball.
12 Apr 2026 04:10:10
April Fools was nearly 2 weeks ago, mate. Wirtz did more in his first month than Keita did in his whole Liverpool career.

Agree18
12 Apr 2026 05:35:53
You're passing judgement too soon. All our players have struggled this season because of multiple reasons.
Wirtz definitely needs to improve but he's no Keita; he's more like Ozil, in some ways, like that magic/X factor about him, not blessed with power and speed, etc, but that's not the type of player he's meant to be.
Next season, under better management and, hopefully, in a better balanced team, he'll show what we paid for.
Agree8
12 Apr 2026 06:04:11
This original post is one big pile of codswallop.
1. Wirtz is nothing like Keita. Not in playing style, not in ability, not in personality, nothing. Keita was given an inflated salary for half a decade only to play terribly and, in my opinion, feign injuries.
2. Wirtz a worse version of MacAllister? Wirtz is not a dime less than 10 times the player MacAllister is.
3. Wirtz has an exemplary attitude to football - one of the reasons he chose us stems from such.
4. People want Xabi Alonso because a) he has shown some real promise as a manager and has titles to show it, and b) our current manager is utterly incompetent and will be rightfully sacked the moment the season ends.
As for Ekitike, he looks a talented player but his attitude raises a few alarms.

12 Apr 2026 08:26:21
Over the top on Wirtz that, but I have to say I've been a bit disappointed by him. He has, no doubt, serious ability, but just doesn't do enough for me. That period before he got injured, he was starting to really affect games, but since he has come back he is the same as at the start of the season, tidy bits and pieces, but not really affecting the game the way u think he could.
I do believe he will become a top player for us when the team is in better shape overall, I definitely think if he is the 10 u need legs, speed and aggression around him. If we were to sell every player who underperformed this season we would only be playing 1 a side, so I certainly wouldn't isolate him, but next season we really would need to see more from him.

12 Apr 2026 09:07:22
How do people think Wirtz has done this season? And how has he done compared to their expectations for him at the start of the season?
Personally, I think he's had a decent season, but I'll be honest, his season has been below what I expected.
Not a Wirtz bashing, but an honest assessment. Hoping, with possibly a different coach, tactics, quicker players around him, and a year's PL experience, he will have a far better season next season.
Amazingly, only Rio, Trey & Leoni are younger than him in this season's first-team squad, so he still has years ahead of him.
Excited to see him continue to grow.
Agree10
12 Apr 2026 09:11:58
Bob has been against Wirtz since before he signed for us, so tbf to him, he is consistent in his views regarding Wirtz. I wholly disagree with all that he said about Wirtz, but he is entitled to have his own opinion.
Agree1
12 Apr 2026 09:12:30
I think more than anyone Wirtz needs a good team press. He is not quick enough to press on his own, so in the tactics, he finds it hard to get close to people. He is tenacious, though, so if we were pressing like a team, I think he'll be really effective.
He has all the tools on the ball, but it certainly hasn't lit it up.
You can see it's there, and he has improved throughout the season with some excellent games, but not enough to match his talent. Far too soon to make any long term judgements. Hope to see the best of him next season.

12 Apr 2026 10:18:13
He's been average to good. He doesn't do enough in some games, in others, he shows what he's capable of. I think he'll benefit from Isak settling in to the team, and a better out ball option on the right wing in terms of keeping momentum.
He set up Mo a few times last night and the move just stalled as Mo stumbled, must be quite frustrating for him as well.

12 Apr 2026 10:22:45
Bob, disappointed in your post, mate, you usually post some good reading.
Wirtz has played with different team mates, no settled partner. He had a bit of a thing with Hugo, now he has to get to know Isak. He has had Maca, Grav, Jones, Sboz being played at different times.
As far as comparison with Naby, Bob, you are way off the mark, my friend.
Wirtz will be the face of Liverpool in seasons to come. He is without doubt the most talented player in the Prem League. YNWA.
Agree3
12 Apr 2026 11:06:54
I see your point, JK, but ask that same question of the entire squad.
Szobo, Rio... and that's about it for me, and maybe Kerkez, who can say that they met expectations.
Everyone else has been pure s*** balls.

12 Apr 2026 11:15:24
C'mon lads, Bob is being OTT, but we can't actually say Wirtz has had a good season? Massive disappointment so far considering the price tag.
Agree1
12 Apr 2026 11:25:49
Agree, a bit hyperbolic from Bob, but I do agree I've not seen one performance that resembles a generational talent that cost 100 million yet. For that money, Wirtz should be able to change a game on his own.
Next season will be defining, but to me so far he just looks like a City, ie, system player rather than someone who can take the game by the scruff of the neck and win it.
Agree2
12 Apr 2026 11:40:40
JLC, agree mate, but the post was about Wirtz.
Agree, majority of players have underperformed, but they aren’t regarded as generational talent.
As it stands, Wirtz hasn’t been at the level of a KDB or, begrudgingly, a Bruno Fernandes.
I was hoping for a Stevie G / Suarez kind of player that can grab the game by the scruff and win it on their own.
But, as I said, it’s early days, mate.

Even Szoboszlai, LFC8? Some performances have been under par, but I think he has consolidated himself as being one of the best midfielders in the world this year, whether he plays deeper (which I prefer) or more advanced, he is generally excellent.

12 Apr 2026 13:51:27
Wirtz will come good because he wants it.
11 Apr 2026 22:27:16
Eds I don't know if you've listened into that ex youth Italian and a few coaches complaining about why Italy hasn't been successful and that Italian youth squads are over flowing with foreign talent.
Do you think we need to review our home grown policy for Premier League, I do feel like each league needs to have as much emphasis on their best players (within reason) I worry money leads to bad process.
{Ed001's Note - yes 100%. I don't think youth teamers should be transferred - they are children.}

Utd have the easiest run-in, so I expect them to get Champions League.
Villa also not a bad run-in, but they have the Europa League to win. Think it's between us and Chelsea for 5th l.

If we were to only win our 3 remaining home games (which would mean effectively a 6 pointer with Chelsea), then I don't think Chelsea would catch us for fifth place.
I don't think we are consistent enough to trouble the top 4, unfortunately. Still hoping for a special Anfield night on Tuesday!!
