We have decided to change the Teams page to be the Liverpool Match Posts page, so look for posts talking about the latest Liverpool match there.

But most of the posts still go to the Liverpool Banter page.

23 Aug 2019 05:16:46
Also more posts are being added to the Liverpool Discussion Posts and the More Liverpool Posts pages.

The Ox has signed a new contract extension. Could be a key player for us this season.

Believable6 0Unbelievable

22 Aug 2019 19:27:41
Glad to hear it. Ox seems to be a good person to have in the locker room and he can have a real impact as the season goes on.

Like a new signing. The English Be Bruyne.

Agree0 0Disagree

22 Aug 2019 20:02:45
I was a big believer in Ox before he came to Liverpool but I’m slightly surprised that the club have extended his contract given his injury.
He’s not ‘like a new signing’ because he’s damaged goods, as harsh as that sounds, and would we even sign him at all if he’d had that injury back then?

Agree1 1Disagree

22 Aug 2019 20:10:00
Sign new deal get MOTM vs old club. Not a bad few days eh.

22 Aug 2019 20:53:31
Nice to see you stand by our players juicer, damage goods is fecking well harsh, maybe you should try and support the team and players, instead of putting crap like that.

Agree6 0Disagree

22 Aug 2019 22:28:11
think the juicer has been juicing too much and his brain has gone to mush.

He’s not ‘like a new signing’ because he’s damaged goods,
======================================
Wow . most of our players have had an injury in the past including Salah and Mane . are they all damaged goods? .

Look I do have a concern that Alex gets injured quite often, probably the way he plays, don't know . But unfortunately there are players that have this problem and these players sadly never achieve their full potential.

22 Aug 2019 23:06:02
Sorry lads. I’d have waited until the season end before offering him an extension but I certainly hope he comes good again and stays healthy. As I said, I always liked Ox and was very supportive of his coming to the club. I think he’s a favourite of Klopp’s, which is fair enough.

Liverpool to sign nike deal? Gross. Nike can't make a good looking kit to save their life. Would prefer less money and better kits!

Is it your money lfcohio? 😅.

Don't buy the Nike shirt then. It really is that simple. Whining for the sake of whining.

Agree4 0Disagree

22 Aug 2019 22:03:15
LFCohio the kit will be red . I'm not a fan of nike kits but if it's a reportedly record deal well that's fine in my book our main competitor have an endless money pit . Personally the only time I'd wear a replica kit is on the 5 a side pitch.

Rumour has it Herbie Kane is staying and will be staying in the first team squad, is there any truth in this?

Believable6 0Unbelievable

21 Aug 2019 18:31:58
I guess it's a " " scenario. Klopp wants him for the League Cup but Kane is still hoping to go out on loan for his development.

I can't blame the lad. If we go far in the League cup, he'll lose his place to more experienced squad players and if we don't, he's stayed to play 1 or 2 games.

Agree3 0Disagree

21 Aug 2019 21:09:37
Best of luck to the lad, whichever road he takes.

Agree0 0Disagree

21 Aug 2019 21:33:53
Would make no little sense to not let him move on, it seems near impossible to think he has any hope of getting anywhere near our first team now or in the future, he's not that young anymore either he should be looking to move on.

Agree1 0Disagree

22 Aug 2019 01:12:20
Is he good? And how is his style of play?

Agree0 0Disagree

22 Aug 2019 10:23:54
How are we classing 20 year olds as "not that young"?! Sheer madness!

Agree2 0Disagree

22 Aug 2019 11:28:58
I had the pleasure of watching the lad all season at Donny rovers and he was fantastic! He's a midfielder who likes to dictate the tempo but also chipped in with a few goals. By no means am I saying he's ready for the first team but it sounds like a lot of nonsense saying a 20 yo is 'not that young' and to move him on 😂.

Agree2 0Disagree

22 Aug 2019 12:14:08
I don't get it either. Why are players expected to be top level so young? If they aren't ready by 23 they are written off? Makes no sense to me, especially looking at how many players over the years we have bought in deemed ready and or good enough for our first team, who have turned out to be poor. Ok it has improved significantly recently, but how many of the roles filled by those signings could have just been given to one of our graduates.

Agree1 0Disagree

22 Aug 2019 12:19:09
He played in the Number 6 role for the U23s so potentially there could be a place for him as backup to Fabinho.

Agree0 0Disagree

22 Aug 2019 14:23:48
Herbie Kane is not good enough for the first team in my opinion. I know he was rated by Stevie but he has turned into a championship player. (in my opinion)

Agree0 1Disagree

22 Aug 2019 15:37:31
And what is (your opinion) based upon irishscouser2?

Unless you followed Doncaster the whole year last year and have attended Liverpool training since then you cannot make such an assumption.

Agree3 0Disagree

22 Aug 2019 19:50:38
Playing well for Doncaster means nothing, he has never looked good enough for the first team.

People might think he's old cos he's the oldest looking 20 year old in football.

Agree0 0Disagree

22 Aug 2019 20:13:33
How does playing well for Doncaster as a 19 year old mean nothing, their fans and coach raves about him playing.

But to be fair once you are 20 you cannot improve ever you are stuck at that level for life.

“He has never looked good enough for the first team” I wil say It again he’s back from a loan as a 19 year old and the club haven’t loaned him out as want to have him in and around the FIRST team squad.

He may never make it at Liverpool but to write him off now is just plain odd.

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed025's Note - yeah...and dirty boots wont clean themselves SR..

22 Aug 2019 21:44:57
We say the same thing almost every year about a youngster, minus Brewster and TAA who from early on you could see they were better than most. Strange I don't remember them being loaned out.99% of our youngsters are decent players and will do well in the lower leagues, not Liverpool.

Agree0 0Disagree

22 Aug 2019 22:32:11
well ed, you must know, if the boot room comes back the golden years are upon us.

I am a fan of Kane, probably won't make it at liverpool but i dislike people discarding young players as "deadwood"

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed001's Note - we will only know if he is good enough when he gets a chance.}

21 Aug 2019 13:11:46
Hi all, I’ve got a question for Ed002. Do you know the latest on the Premier League’s search for a new Chief Executive? It’s been almost a year and a half since Scudamore stood down, have you heard about any issues behind the scenes?

Appreciate it’s not really a Liverpool post, but still relevant.

Believable0 0Unbelievable

{Ed002's Note - After the false start with Susanna Dineage an offer was made to someone else who after consideration declined the role. A third party company working on behalf of the Premier League found them some potential candidates but none were suitable. The plan remains to fill the role before the end of the year and another third party is working the issue. Separately the Premier League do have someone in mind, but he would need persuading - and I rather doubt he will be.}

21 Aug 2019 15:18:37
Can you let them know I’d make myself available for that level of remuneration, thanks ed👍.

{Ed002's Note - Will do.}

21 Aug 2019 15:45:39
Ed002 couldn’t you do the job in your spare time?

{Ed002's Note - Actually they have considered a couple of Americans, which was a little bit of a surprise.}

Hi Eds,

Question, do you see Liverpool going after Houssem Aouar in the near future? I know that we tried to sign him in 2016 and he was persuaded to reject us and it looks like we have still been scouting since then.

Do we still hold proper interest or are we just keeping an eye out for his development. Looks like he will be a top top player.

Believable0 0Unbelievable

{Ed002's Note - Three clubs have a declared interest in the player but Lyon are not looking to sell this summer and all clubs are aware of that - there is nothing to say that Liverpool are looking to him.}

21 Aug 2019 13:40:45
Well Aouar2020 has been trending so fans seem to think so!

I am sure that we are scouting him but he will be a very significant outlay to prise him from Lyon and as Ed says there will be interest from other big clubs.

Guess it depends how the season goes and how our midfield evolves by the end of the season.

Agree2 0Disagree

21 Aug 2019 21:37:21
He looks like he can become a great player and will be hot property if he can keep improving this season, he will surely demand a hefty fee though with many top clubs looking at him.

21 Aug 2019 12:20:24
Hi Ed,
I was wondering if you could shed any light on the rumors linking us to Kai Havertz.
Personally, I think our squad is strong enough as it is but I'd like to know what you think.

Believable1 0Unbelievable

{Ed002's Note - The situation remains the same as it has been regarding the future of Kai Havertz in that Bayern Munich are looking to complete his transfer next summer and the player is happy with that. There has been interest from a number of other sides including Barcelona, Arsenal and Chelsea, and both Manchester City Liverpool are likely looking at the situation but his future is largely mapped out and he is the subject of ongoing discussions with a move certainly happening in 2020. Bayern Munich are fearful that Barcelona will make a significant offer but he won't be first pick for them. I would forget him for now.}

21 Aug 2019 13:30:55
Shame, he looks a real talent.

Agree1 0Disagree

21 Aug 2019 13:41:38
I think we can rule out any German players for the foreseeable future as they predominantly all just end up at bayern/ Dortmund.

havertz is as likely as mbappe was.

21 Aug 2019 21:41:14

Hello Ed002
It's true that Liverpool want to sign Michel Vorm?

Believable0 0Unbelievable

{Ed002's Note - I am aware of what John Achterberg but I am not sure he is talking about it being a current situation - five goalkeepers is excessive and really makes a nonsense of things.}

20 Aug 2019 08:43:23
Thank you so much for reply
IMO nobody takes Lonergan seriously and Achterberg said that 3 good goalkeepers is not a problem.

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed002's Note - You should get down to Anfield and daub abuse about Lonergan around the place - get the message across that none of the fans take one of the players seriously. Perhaps a hate campaign on social media would help get him out of the club.}

20 Aug 2019 11:26:39
I would take Vorm in 100%.
I want to ask you about next BIG summer transfer window in Liverpool, did you know something about that?

Agree1 0Disagree

{Ed002's Note - I am sure there will be a couple of additions next summer - Milner and Shaqiri will likely be replaced and much else will depend on folks leaving.}

20 Aug 2019 11:34:33
Given that you can only ever play one keeper on the pitch, Vorm would be one keeper too many, Lonergan is absolutely fine as a back up to the back up.

Agree4 0Disagree

20 Aug 2019 12:53:01
Ed whilst we are on the subject of next summer, do you think Salah will again be looking to leave or is it far to early to say?

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed002's Note - They screwed up the best chance they had. Obviously he continues to seek maximum publicity in his quest to be the new Real Madrid poster boy although Real Madrid have a clear target for next summer. So it is far too early to say.}

20 Aug 2019 12:58:47
Lonergan won't care about the random abuse, he is living our dream. I'd gladly represent the worlds best, flying all over the world while being paid quite well. A year long celebration and who knows he might get a game or three somewhere along the way.

20 Aug 2019 14:20:40
Thank you Ed002.

I hope he stays and helps us win more trophy’s.

Madrid will be looking at M’bappe next summer. As for Lonergan I’m sure he’ll acquit himself well if called upon.

Agree0 0Disagree

21 Aug 2019 08:54:45
In your opinion nobody takes Lonergan seriously? Who's this 'nobody' in your opinion? So called 'supporters' or his coaches or teammates? Who? That's a pretty sweeping and offensive thing to say just based on your one meaningless 'opinion'.

Any update on the Lovren situation.

Believable0 0Unbelievable

{Ed002's Note - Not since I explained the situation a couple of days or so ago.}

Ok that was then how about now?

16 Aug 2019 13:16:05
People saying about Adrian now our injured? Bloody hell we've certainly been in the wrong end of injuries already in the early stages of the season. Allison Keita and now Adrian.

Ed001 do you no the seriousness of Adrian's injury please? Is he definitely out or a doubt. We're down to the bare bones of a 36yo 3rd choice or a young lad in Keleher?

Believable1 0Unbelievable

{Ed001's Note - I have no idea I am out and on my phone, I am not in touch with anything sorry.}

16 Aug 2019 13:36:12
Kloppo said he needs to be assessed in the morning, it was swollen yesterday and has improved. But it won't be definite till tomorrow.

Some fan ran onto the pitch with the celebrations and collided with him he’s a swollen ankle 🤦🏻‍♂️.

16 Aug 2019 16:39:50
Idiots who think it's OK to pitch invade need to get a grip. Not just because of this incident but because of the security issue, as well as it making our fans and by association our club look bad. Klopp apparently said that fans also invaded the pitch at the Norwich game and the City game. It needs knocking on the head, and I don't see why life bans aren't dished out by the club for this sort of behaviour. Set a precedent and it'll stop soon enough.

Agree3 0Disagree

16 Aug 2019 20:02:50
Seano, with the game being in Turkey there is the potential that it isn’t a regular visitor to Anfield.

Problem is there are plenty of idiots that want a minute of fame. loOk at the lass in the final, no intention to go to another game and got publicity by being all over the news. Tv cameras are starting to get the right idea and as soon as someone is seen pan to someone else.

If they stop being seen, it’ll be eradicated as it negates the point in doing it.

Agree1 0Disagree

16 Aug 2019 23:10:46
If that was a tackle during the match we'd be calling it a potentially career ending tackle lol crazy man.

Also when someone is out I get excited for whoever is next coming in!

Agree1 0Disagree

17 Aug 2019 04:11:07
Maybe WYRed but what about the Norwich game and City game one of our fans invaded the pitch then? This is clearly not an isolated incident and is something the club should clamp down on - tired of idiots ruining it for other and now, in this case, potentially ruining it for an actual player.

17 Aug 2019 09:15:09
Adrian will be fit for today don’t worry.

17 Aug 2019 19:42:26
Not the point 1jj, fans acting like arses should be punished by the club as a deterrent for other arses. It's sad that they need to do that but it seems it's the only thing within their mandate to do.
