My preferred group opponents are.

Well done LFC, Klopp and Anfield tonight.

The offside equaliser may be a blessing in disguise. If this doesn't bring home the point that we need a dominant header of the ball in defence, nothing will. Klopp needs to break faith with his defenders and only use the ball playing defenders against the top teams and Europe, use the mongrel dominant header type defenders for the direct teams. Goalkeeping was underwhelming as well. A good keeper just wins you the points, the old Migs was back today. I would love to see what Ward could do. Moreno was alright I thought, a vast improvement.

What did Migs do today that was a mistake, exactly? If you think he was responsible for any of the goals then, I disagree completely. The third goal due to Wij not taking charge and sticking his head in to at least make contact good enough to at least clear the ball a significant distance. He simply went in half-heartedly while the Watford player went in full hence, he won the ricochet. Infact, Migs only had one save to make yet conceded 3 goals, all due to errors that left him exposed by his outfield team mates.

1. Liverpool players not sending a strong message for Coutinho to want to stay.
2. Premier league a hell of a lot tougher than friendlies vs Bayern Munich.
3. Lack a proper no 9
4. Salah quite.
5. Despite Hendo and Can, midfield very lite weight.
6. Tempo very slow, no aggression. I think they have been distracted by Coutinho.
7. Have they got the CL qualifier on their minds?
8. Poor transfer window is obvious

Only half time here's hoping a Klopp bollocking sorts them out.

1.) 12 Aug 2017 13:28:40
Does he though?

If you knew you were in for a bollocking you wouldn't go there in the first place.

2.) 12 Aug 2017 14:08:35
Lol, so couts is watching the game thinking if we smack watford im going to stay, if it's a close game I'm off. Ridiculous comment.

3.) 12 Aug 2017 21:57:31
Swish, if Liverpool were smashing the likes of Watford, then it would reinforce the view that he may be part of something that could turn out great. Instead Barce say come and join us an have a 50/ 50 chance of winning all the Spanish domestic trophies.

Watched yesterday's game. Very realistic PL game in the first half. The Reds have an outstanding attacking lineup. My U11 team today dominated and had a very good attack but lack of quality in defence saw me lose soft goals. Liverpool have zero chance without a quality defence, if we lose Couts, very very disappointed, if we don't get Keita, so be it, we tried, but if we to get VVD I think it could be a game changer. Defending is paramount in my eyes. Sorry to compare to my U11's just trying to draw a vague analogy.

1.) 23 Jul 2017 05:57:47
lol my sons U11's team did the same thing conceding sloppy goals from switching off, but my son scored four created assisted three and we won so won't complain haha.

2.) 23 Jul 2017 09:58:51
I don't underatand what the big deal is.

3.) 23 Jul 2017 12:30:07
Sounds like we should be signing up your son for the youth set up Jay19!

21 Jul 2017 13:22:42
What are the odds that fate will put us in the same group as Barcelona and RBL (assuming we qualify) . With Couts but without Keita.

1.) 21 Jul 2017 13:27:10
Oh God Bean our ultimate nightmare.

2.) 21 Jul 2017 13:56:51
or their ultimate nightmare.

3.) 21 Jul 2017 13:57:47
With Coutinho and a full squad to choose from, I think we are capable of beating Barcelona, wouldn't be bothered about that league. It's the defensive-minded teams we struggle against.

4.) 21 Jul 2017 14:01:28
As long as Phil's in our line-up I just don't care.

5.) 21 Jul 2017 14:32:59
Sorry I read that wrong I thought you ment without both!

To challenge year in year out, you need to compete with the bank rolled super rich ownership structures. Unfortunately buying success is the current method ruining football and FSG aren't in the same bracket. One needs to spend $300m in today's market just to keep pace. If we could get lucky with a few players all hitting career best form at the same time, few injuries and a bit of good fortune we could challenge for a season or two, until the squad is cherry picked by Barce or RM. Sad but true. I think trying to outspend is pointless, just keep bringing new blood focussing on quality not quantity as there are enough decent players out there but we need to find them first, then it's just 11 v 11 on match day.
PS. Still think Liverpool need a gun striker first and foremost. Goals cure everything!

If PC leaves and we get a windfall which I don't want to happen, would we consider trying for Aubameyang or even Bale? Pulisic or Dembele have potential but unproven. PL rivals will not sell their top players to us, so we will be limited to European options. A left field thought, what about Sanchez? He did'nt want to come the first time but we will be cashed up and in the CL, would Arsenal except 40m and 1.00.

I think he is giving these guys a chance to right their wrongs in front of the Anfield faithful. These guys are pros on huge money but also human beings who need a chance of redemption. Now this doesn’t stop us looking for replacements in Jan, but with Ward injured and Karius set to play in the CL, Migs has a chance to show us the Migs that finished last season so well. I am ever optimist and expect the forwards to finish the countless chances we miss week in week out.

{Ed001's Note - no he has bottled it. He was going to change it after the last game and now he has had time to think about it he has gone back to what has failed time and time again. Sticking by Mignolet and picking him when there are options out there is almost a sackable offence in itself.}

I think he is confused. He’s joining the “Reds” but has taken it too literally.

Believe! We ain't that bad and they ain't that good.
Just as long as the officials do their job, I think we may shade it 2-1. I always feel there may be a pivotal ref decision in these big games. At the end of the day it's only 3 pts.

Congratulations to Kenny, humble, genuine, integrity and great servant to LFC on and off the pitch. So glad people like him get honoured while alive, I think he made a joke about that. Seemed nicely done by club. No owners but it's Kenny's day, they probably didn't want ownership questions distracting from Event.

I don't know why we did'nt consider putting Karius on loan to gain experience, he's only young and would have come back stronger. Ward is an able deputy. Mignolet's shot stopping has been better but it's the marshalling of defence and leadership weakness that's let's him down. He finished last season strong, Klopp assumed problem solved but I feel Migs has regressed again.
The PL season is only 7 games old, Just settle on a GK strategy, live with the outcomes, fix in January if required. simples.

{Ed002's Note - Buying a goalkeeper in January is incredibly difficult.}
