Hi Ed's is there any interest from other clubs in Clyne and Wisdom?

Also with Sevilla selling Immobile do you think they will bid for Alberto?

Many thanks in advance?

Hoola

{Ed002's Note - There is no interest I am aware of in either Wisdom or Clyne right now. Sevilla might be interested in LA at the right price.}

Thanks Ed much appreciated!

If the fee for Smith is true then wow, to think he was out of contract and resigned for us little over a year ago!

Good business if he does leave.

Hi Ed's; a while ago it was stated that we would let Allen leave if a suitable offer came in; is this still the situation (I presume a sell rather than a loan)?

I've seen comments in the press (i know I know) and checked the search facility but can't find anything new on this subject.

Many thanks in advance!

Hoola

{Ed002's Note - Swansea approached Liverpool in respect of taking Joe Allen on loan - it was rebuffed.}

1.) 24 Jan 2016 09:20:07
Eds do you think if Swansea came in with a reasonable offer to buy that that would make a difference?

{Ed002's Note - I am not going to get in to whatif questions.}

Hi Eds,

You've mentioned a couple of times about Allen and Swansea being a good move - do you know what Allen thinks - would he prefer to move or stay?

Thanks

Hoola

{Ed001's Note - he wants to prove himself with us, there is a feeling that going back is like admitting you aren't good enough. So it is difficult for him, because he did genuinely love it at Swansea and would like to go back there, but not with his tail between his legs as a failure.}

A friend of mine has links to MK Dons and says Liverpool are in talks over Deli Ali - nothing agreed just in talks.

I asked him what type of player he was and his words (not mine) is that he can play either holding or attacking midfield and believes he is a very skillful player with lots of energy (in terms of if we are playing a closing down opposition players system).

He believes he is a really good player and might make it onto the bench or into some of the cup games squads if he was to sign.

He also knew Sheyi Ojo but remembers him as a central midfielder who could control games; he thinks he plays slightly more cautious for Liverpool (saying that he only turns 17 tomorrow - so Happy Birthday Sheyi).

Hi Ed001,

Given Gerrards statement on ability alone won't get you in Liverpools first team; was Gerrard someone committed to training?

Its widely regarded Frank Lampard put effort into his game I wanted to know if Gerrards practicised what he is preaching.

Hoola

{Ed001's Note - yes. At youth level he was very committed.}

Thanks Ed001.

To say I'm amazed is an understatement.

In my job if i continued making the same mistakes I'd expect to be sacked.

Some slapped knuckles and asses need to happen - we was always though of great throughout all aspects and this is just so wrong why do we make the same mistakes its unreal!

Everything went alright last year.

2.) 08 Jun 2017 07:24:06
S96, that's not a measure of success. We've been leaving a trail of slime in transfer dealings for a fair while now.

04 Jun 2017 15:09:07
Surely if we were not looking at centre backs and was purely interested due to an approach to us; then it's possible we will not look at another centre back now VVD isn't available.

Hoola

1.) 04 Jun 2017 15:33:58
Correct! Also might change if Klopp actually realize buying offensive full backs will only improve goals and not goals conceded which still remains very poor. As well we are certain to be in the group of death of CL potentially drawing some heavy weights and you need actual CB to deal with the likes of Ronaldo's and Dybala's.

2.) 04 Jun 2017 15:47:57
My word Harry, you do realise that we will have to deal with Clyne and Milner in the CL if Klopp does not get two proper fullbacks?

Now we know why you keep on changing your name the whole time.

3.) 04 Jun 2017 15:58:12
Lol. Did I mention we do not need to upgrade full backs? We potentially need 5 new players. 2 FB, 1 LW, 1 CM, and 1 CB.

4.) 04 Jun 2017 16:36:01
And what if Klopp is toying with the idea of playing with a back 3? Has anybody considered that? Maybe it's me, but it really seems out of character for both Klopp and FSG to seriously pursue someone at such a high price and wages, and then have Lovren sit on the bench at 100k per week. I'm probably way off with this train of thought, but a back 3 would also drastically reduce our RB/ LB problems. Of course, the midfield would then have to be re-sorted but then that's another discussion for another day, but it's certainly doable.

5.) 04 Jun 2017 16:57:40
WE need full backs regardless of any formation change mainly coz our current one's offers pretty much nothing going forward or tracking back.
It's up to the manager what he prefers, traditional defenders or failed wingers. If he persist with the former you wouldn't need to tweak the CB's but if he chose the later then you either need a proper stopper in the middle to sweep all danger or you need better CB's.

Spurs has the best CB pair in the league, Yet they play a stopper infront of them and there is a reason why!

6.) 04 Jun 2017 17:40:16
Spurs have the best defence in the league because they have dier and wanyama ahead of them. Don't think aldeweireld and vertonghen in particular are that special individually.

7.) 04 Jun 2017 18:27:16
Alder is very good.

Banter please Ed's

Firstly I thought akexander arnold had a good game but for me Lucas was man of the match.

Have you seen Origi's comments on Woodburn? seriously I really like this player - I love Klopp more.

Not the greatest of games but we still won, a few years ago we wouldn't have.

I feel proud to be a Liverpool supporter at the moment.

I'm really hoping g Ojo is fit soon and gets an opportunity.

Over and out.

23 Nov 2016 01:57:53
Banter please.

In lieu of our next draw or (whatever you believe in God, Gods anything else) forbid a loss.

Can you confirm the number of teams in the last 50 years that have picked up maximum points in every game and won the league?

To my knowledge only aresnal have remained undefeated for a season and that included draws - 1 every in every 3 games = think about that ;o)

Hoola

1.) 23 Nov 2016 06:40:54
Think Milan and Juventus have both went through a league campaign undefeated - Milan's in the 91/ 92 season being especially creditable the standard of Serie A at that time being very, very high. Juve's in 11/ 12 is not quite as impressive given the quality of Serie A at that time.

2.) 23 Nov 2016 07:12:14
Preston North End did it when I were a lad int' good ole days.

3.) 23 Nov 2016 09:30:21
Ron must be older than Ed025 then ☺️.

{Ed001's Note - only Ed003 is older than Ed025. Ed003 is older than time itself.}

4.) 23 Nov 2016 13:27:17
That AC Milan team of 91/ 92 was really something. I flew down to see a couple of games. Ancelotti was in that team; Maldini, Rijkaard and Gullit too. And Van Basten's last season. Magical times.

5.) 23 Nov 2016 15:01:21
That AC Milan team had legends almost all over the pitch. From the back four (Maldini, Costacurta, Baresi and Tassotti) who were all starts in the Italian national team, to Donadoni, Gullit, and Rijkaard in midfield, to the great Marco Van Basten in attack and with Marco Simone and Demetreo Albertini as youngsters coming up. That team went 58 league games unbeaten until a free kick from Asprilla for Parma ended it in 92/ 93 season. That team was the reason I support Milan even till today.

6.) 23 Nov 2016 17:23:28
I really admired that ac milan team, was a fan of van basten and gullit, remember the van basten volley from an extremely acute angle that went in the top corner, excellent player. Second best dutch player ever behind cryuff of course.

7.) 23 Nov 2016 19:24:43
Funny you mention that, Barnez because Marco is considered the 2nd best player ever to come out of the revered Ajax academy, after Cruyff. And strongly considered as simply, the best and most complete CF to ever play the game, period. He and/ or the Brazilian Ronaldo own that spot, IMO.

Completely agree with Ed. Lucas made a mistake but Mignolet should have calmed down assessed the situation and not passed to him given where the Leicester players were.

That being said his reading of the game; being in the right position for most of the headers and distribution was excellent. Given Lucas and Milner not being defenders between them and Henderson I thought they worked very well together.

Not sure how Lallana got man of the match on Sky; too many tricks in the wrong places and giving the ball away.

Oh my when Frimino took that ball down in their penalty area - he at times (as did the team) looked frightening in attack!

In todays market and given berahino being worth close to £25m and our other forward options then maybe take "25m from a Stoke / West Brom for him".
