Stated Pato has agreed to sign for €15 plus bonuses.

Baz.

Baz

1.) 09 Jan 2016 00:04:10
Yeah seen that my self but thought he was a done deal for some other team guess if anyone will know am sure the edd will or will see it on sky sports the morrow hears hoping. We need him.

2.) 08 Jan 2016 23:56:02
I' m not saying i don't believe you, but surely not!

3.) 09 Jan 2016 00:45:13
I think he turned down another premier league team to join LFC.

4.) 09 Jan 2016 01:58:56
Can't see this happening, last thing we need is to be taking more gambles like this.

5.) 09 Jan 2016 02:15:07
If this is true the people running our club are the least intelligent of any professional team. There is a good reason he is in Brazil and it should be telling that they desperately want rid of him. He is lazy, injury prone, and has attitude problems. Did I forget to mention that he is also not very good.

6.) 09 Jan 2016 02:55:29
15euro. still a bit steep if ya ask me.

7.) 09 Jan 2016 03:39:20
Is that personal knowledge or just eds views regurgitated?

8.) 09 Jan 2016 04:30:59
So Klopp wants to setup a Brazilian WC team in LFC? We do really need a CB and FW but options are very limited in Jan.

9.) 09 Jan 2016 06:31:20
Its no gamble. Pato is among tops scorer of Brazilian league with 11 goals this season. He is on form.

{Ed001's Note - it is a gamble, he is on such good form they don't want to keep him at the club. It is not about money, they don't want him because his attitude stinks and he has injury issues.}

10.) 09 Jan 2016 07:01:06
Reports coming out of Brazil is its 15 million brazilian real which is roughly around 4-5 million he hasn't turned down anything from another premier league club he turned down a ridiculously large pay packet from a Chinese side, people saying he is injury prone he hasn't been injured for three years! And 2015 was probably his best goal scoring season.

{Ed001's Note - sorry but he has shown consistently that playing a competitive game in a decent league is beyond his body's ability to cope. Just because he is doing ok while semi-retired and not expected to work hard does not mean he is suddenly fine.}

11.) 09 Jan 2016 07:54:31
Could turn out to be a master stroke. who knows. If he brings back ballo then I would be very annoyed. I don't think either deal will happen.

12.) 09 Jan 2016 08:21:18
How can people say he's not very good? i have the full sky package and i don't recall any brazilian football being on. have faith in klopp and stop being so negative on current and future players.

{Ed001's Note - have you never heard of the internet? Some of us watch other countries football by other means than just Sly tv anyway.}

13.) 09 Jan 2016 08:47:55
Eds but there isn't any truth in us after him anyhow is there?

{Ed001's Note - not unless something has changed, as we turned him down, as did a number of other teams, once already.}

14.) 09 Jan 2016 09:42:03
Can you see anything changing mate? He doesn't seem a Klopp player and like you said he has injury issues. Does ed002 no if anything has changed?

{Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware, he is still be whored around Europe with little to no interest, more to do with his partyboy lifestyle than his injuries to be honest.}

15.) 09 Jan 2016 09:44:17
Maybe because there is a lack of decent players in the Jan market and due to our injuries and lack of goals the club are dammed if they do and dammed if they don't!

16.) 09 Jan 2016 10:09:07
I think it would be fair to say Ed, he wouldn't exactly be up for the physical nature of playing Premier League football either.

{Ed002's Note - I would think far from able to perform at the premier league level. Clubs will have noted his wages are very high, he has some ownership issues that would need to be resolved before a return to Europe, and (importantly) he has a total of six agents and representatives that would need to be paid as part of any transfer. I cannot see any English side taking him on, the answer for him is back in Brazil until the summer, with Chinese second division side Tianjin Songjiang (who have made an offer) or potentially somewhere in Italy (but I doubt with a leading club).}

17.) 09 Jan 2016 11:02:00
I think it's his agent trying to push a move for his player, anyway surely what money is available this window will be spent on the defensive situation.

{Ed001's Note - it is exactly that. His agent has been claiming interest from anyone and everyone, but there is very little truth.}

18.) 09 Jan 2016 11:42:18
In this moment we need to be looking for more loan plus option to buy.
We have so many injuries we don't necessarily need more permanent deals.

Perhaps Pato is being offered around to clubs who need bodies (like us) and we have said we'd only be interested in a loan to buy. Otherwise I can't see us being interested.

19.) 09 Jan 2016 12:09:05
Surely the deal won't be in euros between two countries that don't use euros?

20.) 09 Jan 2016 14:44:36
The report was on an Italian website I think Fencey that's where the € came in.

21.) 09 Jan 2016 16:43:32
I don't believe for one minute that we would look at a player that fell short in Europe. Before anyone says, when he went back to Brazil, no one in Europe tried to sign him. He is average at best and with a bad attitude.

Carlo to LFC, Brendan to Sunderland, FDB to Newcastle

Eds, just to get away from the Sterling saga, is there any new on our defence in and out plans?
Has Lovren been given a fair chance to prove himself and I know he was not content with opportunities, will he stay or go? Also Skertl, I know there was talk of him leaving last year and Man city turning his head, do you feel that he should now stay or could we give Ilori a go in his position? Also is there any news on GK position?

Baz

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of anything new from the last summery Baz.}

1.) 05 Apr 2015 17:47:17
Ed002, where can I find the last summary?

{Ed002's Note - Try searching on Morgan Sanson - you should find it that way.}

22 Dec 2014 13:25:07
Eds I understand we are looking at a January window with no buying and rightly so as why throw good money at bad under Rodgers. But do you feel that the board may address our worst position in the goalkeeper during this time or wait till the summer and if so do you know which keepers are being looked at?

Baz

Baz

{Ed001's Note - if the right one becomes available, I would expect the club to move for one. It is unlikely that will be the case. The most likely is one will get a pre-contract to join in the summer.}

1.) Thanks ed. Do you have any idea as to who the club as identified as the ''Right keeper''?

baz

{Ed001's Note - right now, as far as I can find out, there is no right keeper available for a January move. So no.}

02 May 2014 22:04:28
Eds do you think that Wilfred Bony would be a player that could fit our system and be a player of interest?

Baz

Baz

{Ed002's Note - Nope.}

1.) 03 May 2014 11:37:12
Firstly great site and really respect the eds for all their imput. Keep it up =) VARANE any chance?

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea has a sustained interest in Varane but Real Madrid do not want to sell, particularly given that their proposed replacement, Mangala, will almost certainly not be available to them. He will not be joining Liverpool.}

2.) I would love to see Bony in Liverpool colors! He has had a great season with a below average team and would be a great back up to ad something different to our game.

3.) He has scored over 20 goals this season but not sure he's got the pace for Liverpool myself

4.) Pace is not really his best attribute but he is very strong. Good player imo but would he be the type of player BR would be interested in? i'm not sure myself, although I think we looked at him before he joined Swansea.

5.) I think a big strong forward like bony or lukaku would be good. It gives us another option when you play teams like Chelsea who have strong defenders who are good in the air.

If you look back at the Chelsea game, we crossed the ball numerous times into the area and it was always headed out by a Chelsea player.

Look at the difference that Andy Carroll made in the FA cup final against Chelsea a couple of seasons ago.

It gives us another dimension.

I've decided that today James Milner is my most unrecognized player of the season so far. He has taken on a position he didn't really want to play, has made it his own, not publically moan or been negative around the role.
Who are your choices for most unrecognized player and why?

Baz.

Baz

1.) 31 Dec 2016 13:57:30
I think you are wrong, but not for bad reasons and this is not a negative response to you, I think every player has been given a lot of praise for the efforts this season. not always for the right reasons but still have been recognised.

but for me lallana is very close to playing at world class level, not saying he is just that he is performing to that level.

2.) 31 Dec 2016 14:16:40
Henderson has been awesome this year without much recognition. I think he's really grown into the captaincy, which was never going to be easy given the act he was following. Henderson makes the side tick by providing great protection for the back four on top of his excellent passing range and vision.

I also think Clyne and Milner have performed fairly well this season, I don't know if you can say Milner's performances have gone unrecognized though.

3.) 31 Dec 2016 14:26:16
Henderson for me. He is in my opinion playing better than any other midfielder in Europe. His stats more than back that up as well. In fact his stats would suggest he is the best by a distance. In reality it is probably much closer. I don't think anyone outside of Kante and Kroos can even wage an argument against Henderson though. He is literally on another level right now. Hopefully he sustains it now throughout his career.

4.) 31 Dec 2016 15:11:59
Agree with Adam here - it's got to be Hendo, simply because half of his own clubs fans don't appreciate what he does. I personally don't know a single person who rates him highly. If our own fans can't see whathe does, he's got to win.

5.) 31 Dec 2016 16:01:06
If they are unrecognised how come you are mentioning them? Bit of a paradox there! Plus a lot of us sing the praises of all those players you mention. I'm not so sure there is an unrecognised player in the team as we play very much as a cohesive unit I feel they all play their part.

15 Dec 2016 22:45:54
Guys/ eds, with recent news coverage about managers stating they would like up to another two subs per game do you think they could look at this? I think we should allow it but these extra two places should be for home grown players under 21. This will allow younger home grown players time and experience which should aid our national team.

Baz.

Baz

1.) 16 Dec 2016 00:05:20
I'm torn with the idea tbh Baz, I like what your saying about giving the youth players more or a chance and more game time but do you think this could give the "big" teams with more money an advantage over opponents with less depth in their squad? Not for me I feel.

2.) 16 Dec 2016 10:35:13
What about five substitute but the extra two if used needs to be u21? Means teams can't abuse it and youth gets to come through. just a thought.

3.) 16 Dec 2016 11:48:44
I would prefer to just see an unlimited bench size so that managers don't have to choose between an experienced bench to help influence a game and young players to get them game time when the match is secure of just needs a burst of energy.

4.) 16 Dec 2016 19:33:42
I think that players like Woodburn making the bench are great for the club but I was at the Boro game to see him warming up, we had a commanding lead being 3-0 up yet he didn't get a chance. This must really hinder their progress when we are comfortable. This was my thinking that an extra two subs, who are home grown players would give managers more incentive to give the youngsters a run out.

Baz.

5.) 17 Dec 2016 01:43:54
I think Woodburn is the real deal.

He is just naturally always in the right position and processes the ball rapidly.

I know this sounds premature and niave but the lad reminds me of kenny in his style of play.
I don't think he can not inluded and at least on the bench
He is quality.
And thank God a red.

07 Dec 2016 22:47:16
M`vila freebie in janurary any one?

Baz.

Baz

1.) 08 Dec 2016 00:26:34
Does anyone know how well he did at Sunderland? He was some talent before his move to Rubin Kazan but I think he is another player with major attitude issues.

2.) 08 Dec 2016 06:24:38
I'd much rather we buy a highly rated CB. And push Lucas back to the backup defensive midfield position where he belongs.

3.) 08 Dec 2016 13:46:43
Why would we want him when he is poorer now, than when many on here were clamoring for him in the past, during which he was average at best?

29 May 2016 09:37:30
Ed91, are you pepe reina? Again not 100% but good penalty record.

Baz.

Baz

1.) 29 May 2016 12:08:30
Scott Sterling?

2.) 29 May 2016 12:43:30
Might not even be a goalkeeper - who was that MK Dons outfield player who saved a penalty this year?

3.) 29 May 2016 21:36:57
Perhaps he is an outfield player that had to go in goal and saved a penalty, hence the 100% record?

{Ed091's Note - penalty shoot outs....

4.) 29 May 2016 23:54:02
Edd 91 is shaka Hislop.

26 May 2016 14:37:04
Ed001, do you think the players linked with us are good enough to challenge this year, or do you believe Klopp has looked at them for a challenge in a few seasons?

Baz.

Baz

{Ed001's Note - I think they are good enough if managed correctly.}

1.) 26 May 2016 15:24:03
Cheers Ed, I have faith in Klopp and his man management skills. I don't want use to get massively further into debt going for already big established names.

Baz.

{Ed001's Note - same here, I would rather we looked to buy the right players, in the same way Leicester do.}

2.) 26 May 2016 17:33:47
18 months ago we would not be saying that Leicester bought the right players. Just the opposite. What's happened at their club for such a turn around? Did they just get lucky with Mahrez and Kante?

Makes it very apparent that there is such a fine line between success and failure.

Ed02 do you see a high end side willing to make a move for him though, one that suits him and the club?

Baz.

Baz

{Ed002's Note - Given what we know now, I would doubt it. But they can wait until the summer and push Liverpool in to a bit of a corner - and the club do not want another Balotelli style fiasco. Roma's interest will be driven by what happens in January with another player - Rudiger. Lille do have firm interest but I understand there is no interest from the player in the English sides who have enquired.}
