Reports saying Klopp is willing to wait for next season to sign chilwell. Guess we'll have to pay a tribunal fee anyway, I would rather we pay the extra and have him for this season too.

{Ed002's Note - It would open up the interest of another EPL side in him again.}

1.) 16 Jul 2016 13:31:05
Ed, I think that other epl side may be arsenal. Feel free to correct mw if i'm wrong.

{Ed002's Note - There is no secret about their interest which was dropped when Liverpool were expected to sign him.}

2.) 18 Jul 2016 13:06:28
Sorry to ask is answered but can't find it - is the wait til next season because of injury or money or both?

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool don't want to pay the money.}

Rumours that Sturridge is going to be left out of the England squad. While I'll be gutted for him, from a liverpool point of view it won't be the worst thing. I think he needs to stay active to keep his muscles working but a few weeks off; whilst not injured, will do him good.

1.) 31 May 2016 03:34:01
How could he have progressed when his LFC career has been blighted by injuries? Your post is quite harsh on the boy.

2.) 31 May 2016 08:02:26
Did I say he hasn't progressed?

3.) 31 May 2016 08:04:17
Which post? What was harsh?

4.) 31 May 2016 08:33:50
I think redohio was replying to the post above about yesil.

5.) 31 May 2016 13:53:53
His progression harsh or otherwise is not to be singled out via these kind of comments.

Not too bothered really. We'll have him locked and loaded for the new season.

28 Apr 2016 18:20:57
Rumoured team for tonight, as I thought to be honest.
Clyne lovren toure Moreno
Lucas Allen Milner
Lallana coutinho
Only question is whether Milner is the extra man in the middle or wide right, I'd prefer the former despite thinking he is better out wide.

1.) 28 Apr 2016 18:59:18
Firmino in for Sturridge.

2.) 28 Apr 2016 19:02:58
Firmino for Sturridge, not far off! Offers more workrate, especially away from home could come in useful, let's just hope we score!

3.) 28 Apr 2016 19:10:15
Apparently Sturridge on the bench Firmino to start.

4.) 28 Apr 2016 19:10:33
No studge.

5.) 28 Apr 2016 19:16:29
Firmino up top.

28 Mar 2016 13:40:35
Supposed comments from zielinski saying 'Some people have heard the rumours, but i know more about it' and that he has been working hard for his club, but would be happy if a transfer to a big club was possible.
Obviously he hasn't confirmed anything, most players would be interested in big clubs, but maybe there could be something here.

1.) 28 Mar 2016 17:29:23
I always think if they say things like this the interest is not as strong. If you were close to a move I would think you'd be quieter so as not to jepordize anything.

You never know with footballers though.

2.) 28 Mar 2016 18:54:23
I watched it. He was asked about the rumors and said let some people think these are rumours. I know more about this subject. I'll work hard so in June those big offers can come in.
- So it's pretty ambiguous either way. For the record he was asked about our central set up and only knew countinho who doesn't even play centrally but he did have a convo about klopp with another player.

3.) 29 Mar 2016 19:13:22
He wants to come here and is issuing a "come and get me" call. Typical strategy so nothing new.

I know this is the Liverpool page ...

{Ed002's Note - Try the correct page.}

26 Nov 2016 11:15:48
I'd like to see origi start today, feel he deserves a shot. Sunderland will surely park the bus, but a target man may help.

1.) 26 Nov 2016 11:23:30
He is starting as Danny is injured. Or wait Klopp might play 3 CM's.

2.) 26 Nov 2016 11:36:40
What is wrong with playing 3 centre mids in a 4-3-3 system?

I do agree that this is a great game to bring in Origi though. Just don't see why who drops out? Couts, Firmino and Mane are playing out of their skins right now.

3.) 26 Nov 2016 11:56:04
Nothing wrong in a 4-3-3 or whatever unless your CM's are a constant threat at the opposition and has a better chance of scoring / assisting than the one who is benched for.
Origi has more chance of scoring at home than any CM. Hence I drop one CM ( Wiji / Can ) and play a striker, So I try to score as much as possible.

4.) 26 Nov 2016 11:58:08
I drop one CM and play Coutinho more centrally ( He is anyways going to drop deep during the course ) Play origi and use his pace and power from the flanks or up front .

You don't need 3 CM's plus Coutinho in the side.

5.) 26 Nov 2016 12:36:24
We have played every league game so far this season with 3 in midfield and we are second having had by far the toughest fixture list of all the title contenders.

Why change a winning formula. Can, Lallana, Henderson and Wijnaldum have 7 goals and 9 assists combined from midfield this season already. With the way we play, dominating the midfield is critical. If you commit so many players forward, you need to have the man power in midfield to close down right across the pitch and prevent the opposition from breaking on you. It is hardly like they are detrimental to our offensive play though with a hand in 16 goals already!

I don't think lack of goals is our main problem. We've only failed to score 3 times and it was largely down to inspired goal keeping in each of those games. We are top scorers in the league. I think overall we are improving as the season goes on. The Saints game was a blip that probably wasn't helped by the international break. Most of the big guns across Europe had an off game last weekend.

Keep the faith Harry. Klopp knows what he is doing.

6.) 26 Nov 2016 12:50:47
Why change the attacking 3 you would just change formation to a 4 2 3 1 and firmino in the 10 and Origi 9 . Hendo still 6 and can or GW 8.

7.) 26 Nov 2016 13:13:35

Henderson - Can / Wiji - Coutinho is good enough as midfielders. No need of adding another CM there.

The third midfielder is always Lallana or Coutinho.

8.) 26 Nov 2016 14:07:17
Well Klopp has stuck with what is working so there we go.

9.) 26 Nov 2016 17:07:41
Harry always thinks he knows best even tho, Klopp is debunking that claim with almost every passing day.

10.) 26 Nov 2016 17:48:08

I am limited unlike you and Klopp nor I have a coaching badge. But I have an opinion on things I see on the pitch. I am right to claim we weren't great in the first half.

24 Nov 2016 20:04:30
I'd like to see everyone's comment before the eds comment, this is just silly what if. Top four is Liverpool Chelsea Arsenal city. Leicester win the CL. United win Europa. Everton come fifth, Southampton sixth and Stoke seventh. West Ham win the FA cup and west brom the league cup. How many teams go CL and how many in Europa?

Could add Swansea have the best disciplinary record in Europe but I won't.

1.) 24 Nov 2016 21:43:38
The same amount of teams that there would be if none of this happened.

2.) 24 Nov 2016 21:54:58
I believe that Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Leicester and Man Utd would be in the Champions League. Fourth place Man City would drop to the Europa as the cup winners take priority. West Ham would join them and West Brom would go into the Europa League qualifying stages. Poor Everton, Saints and Stoke would miss out despite strong league positions!

I think haha! Correct me if I'm wrong!

3.) 24 Nov 2016 22:07:15
From my understanding of the rules:

In the exact scenario you explained, Liverpool Chelsea Leicester and Man U go into Champions league, Arsenal West Brom and West Ham go into the Europa.

As a side note, If Swansea qualified as the best disciplined team, then they would go into the Europa league, but not at anyone else's expense. It is considered an additional position I think.

Well, I gave it a go haha!

4.) 24 Nov 2016 22:37:54
Mr. C and Reid the Red have it right.

5.) 25 Nov 2016 02:20:51
If your aunt had balls she'd be your uncle!

05 Nov 2016 19:31:18
Ed001, I presume you've met Luis Garcia? Seems like a good guy, and like he still loves the club? Scored some great and important goals too!

{Ed001's Note - a couple of times, seems a lovely guy and was happy to talk footie, but I can't say I know him, just know he loves Liverpool.}

1.) 05 Nov 2016 20:41:40
Was there any particular reason why he didn't stay that long?

{Ed001's Note - the manager no longer wanted him.}

2.) 06 Nov 2016 00:33:16
I think he's a club ambassador.
There was a lot about him, Robbie Fowler and Gary macca on Lfc tv on the preseason tour of America.
In my opinion it must be the best job in the world for LFC fan.

31 Oct 2016 11:43:03
Was just thinking about Moreno, thought he was a lot better Saturday. The second goal, the pundits said he should have closed him down, but me personally, that is much better than being reckless and charging in. Maybe he could have been 2/ 3 yards closer, but I'd still rather he thinks more than dives in. Also, a cross from there, you'd back lovren and matip to beat MacArthur in the air. Think Moreno can't win with some people, his crossing was also much better, aimed rather than just kicked into the box.

1.) 31 Oct 2016 12:04:24
We as a group of fans need to be less knee jerk, me included!

Two recent examples are Lucas and Hendo, both of whom didn't immediately grab the fans support, for different reasons.

However, Lucas for a good few years became one of the first names on the teamsheet (albeit less so in the last couple of years, but age gets to everyone) and in the last 3 years, Hendo has been invaluable to us.

Yes, there will always be a handful of fans who maintain their position, but the majority are open to having their opinions swayed by repeated good performances.

Much as I have been (and to a large extent still am) wary of Moreno being one rash decision away from giving away a goal, I would be delighted if he proved that we don't need another left back. He at least deserves a chance to build on Saturday's performance, which was very good.

2.) 31 Oct 2016 12:11:33
The pass to can for the goal was superb. He knew exactly what he was doing. He provides with width unlike Milner who needs to shift to his right side to even attempt a cross. Blaming Moreno for not closing down and then loosing to MacArthur on a simple ball to the box.

Moreno will floursih under a 3-4-3 with an aditional holding mid in the center and 3 at the back. Unfortunately he would caught at the back during counter.

3.) 31 Oct 2016 14:49:16
Fence, I agree he was much better on Saturday and he should be applauded for that. But he also needs to do more to be good enough to nail down the left back spot. The fact that Milner is more accomplished in that position even without any pace would personally embarrass me.
His 1st responsibility is to defend and he stI'll struggles with the basics. He needs to narrow the angles much quicker than he does and then compose himself before getting tight so that he is ready to either challenge or react to the opponet. He does it the other way round. he saunters over which gives the attacker the time to set himself and weigh up his options. Moreno then stops or dives in from a few yards away, resulting in a free cross or a foul.
The cross for the 2nd goal was a very good cross. But from that position he should never have been allowed to put in such a hard n flat cross. Simply shifting his body position would have made it impossible. This is the same issue as last year and it shouldn't be.
I'll continue to support him and hope he learns. But my gut thinks he just doesn't seem to think he's capable!
But then again, I'm one of the minority on here who thinks Clyne does a decent job at right back. so what do I know?!

4.) 31 Oct 2016 15:57:51
He will flourish in a 3-4-3? Shame we will never play that though.

5.) 31 Oct 2016 16:24:08
I think second goal if u look closely it was Lovlen fault.
He was waiting for the ball to come to him then MacArthur interfered and score.
Lovlen should have been quicker to follow the ball instead of waiting the ball to come to him.
I don't think it is Moleno's fault.

6.) 01 Nov 2016 01:01:57
Harry if he wants too flourish in a 3-4-3, he will not be doing it here under Klopp. Maybe at Chelsea under Conte. Moreno to me, is still a work in progress because I still saw some headless defending vs Palace and by the way had Milner been fit, Moreno would have been on the bench because Milner is better defensively and more intelligent positional lay. He is also decent defensively as he can cross with both feet even tho, he's predominantly right footed.

7.) 01 Nov 2016 06:11:28

Hence he wouldn't cut it at Liverpool. He needs that Luxury of that third CB behind him to cover his back side when he is caught up the pitch.
Milner us just a stop gap for the time being. We need one top class to play in the CL.

To press high your centre backs have to be high, leaving a big gap in behind, if he can comfortably sweeper keep, that's great!

Don't think Atkinson did too bad, two bookings in a game with Diego Costa in and I don't feel the two given were particularly bad, Lucas' was soft and Willian's for moaning.

With Kante in there, I'd go for the more pacey option, which is wijnaldum.

I think firmino is the guy that gives you 8/ 10 every week, works very hard, and has that bit of magic. Mane has the pace that we were lacking and just needs to improve his finishing to be almost unplayable. Coutinho is getting more consistent, and I think that is partly due to being on the same wave length as the other two, he passes more, because the runs are being made. I'd hate to lose any of them.

As for sturridge Ings and origi, origi is the only one I'd hate to lose, sturridge is the best finisher but is he going to be happy being 2nd choice, and I think we'd risk losing origi if sturridge doesn't go.
