Good morning eds

I have seen a few posts on this already regarding Draxler all because a certain Paul Joyce from the Tines has said that we are in for him.

The only way I can see us being after someone as high profile as him is if the likes of Couts or Bobby is leaving in Jan, which is very unlikely.

I understand journos will type this stuff as its what they are paid on but I was always thinking that Mr Joyce was quite credible.

Anything in it at all Ed or can we put it down to early transfer bu#####t?

Lfc forever

{Ed001's Note - is this what the January window has come to? People asking us about stuff published in the S*n's sister paper behind a paywall to try and encourage subscribers? Joyce works for the Times, he has sold any credibility he had.}

1.) 22 Dec 2016 09:29:24
I thought it was a load of tosh ed, I should stop readung the crap tbh.

{Ed001's Note - if the story comes from any of News Corp, then it has not come from within Liverpool, no one within the club will have anything to do with them at all. Shun the S*n and all that.....}

2.) 22 Dec 2016 10:10:11
No probs ed, cheers for feedback mate. Was only reading through it as was bourd lol. Will keep it at arms length.

{Ed001's Note - ok mate, I would just recommend not wasting your time in future. There are plenty of sites that offer far more interesting things to read than false news sites like that.}

3.) 22 Dec 2016 10:27:57
Cheers mate 👍.

{Ed001's Note - I highly recommend checking out Swiss Ramble's blog if you are just bored. Long reads but some good stuff in there.}

4.) 22 Dec 2016 10:44:20
I will do just that 😆.

5.) 22 Dec 2016 17:42:51
It's an issue with ignoring particular publications that it doesn't take long before it's spread far and wide and you don't know what's the original source and what's just another person reposting it. That's why I love this site - cuts straight to it.

6.) 22 Dec 2016 20:48:12
Tony Evans who was critised for doing work for TalkSPORT made a good point about the boycott of the S*n should be just that and not everything that Newscorp own. Made a good point in my opinion.

7.) 23 Dec 2016 20:07:21
Personally I avoid anything to do with Mr Murdoch. The agenda for the whole organisation is set at the top.

22 Nov 2016 10:08:13
Does anyone actually think Van Dijk is any good or an improvement on what we currently have? Do you ed? Also why is everyone asuming we are after him? Is it because he is a Saints player and had an ok game aganst us or are we genuinly interested ed?

Lfc forever

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of Liverpool making any approach to Southampton for VVD - nor to his agent.}

1.) 22 Nov 2016 12:21:01
He is a very good centre back in my opinion. We need another centre back to compete with matip, Gomez and lovren. Sakho is going and everyone else we have are not good enough.

2.) 22 Nov 2016 13:24:32
As with Lovren, do you not think he's been made to look much better by Fonte's organisation and discipline?

3.) 22 Nov 2016 13:38:58
I agree with you 100%. It's not about individual players it's about the partnership between the two. You can have two players who are not the best individually but amazing together.
I just know we need another centre back, however I couldn't tell how well he would sit with our other centre back, that's the manager and scouts job. A lot will come with training but sometimes with certain players it just happens.

4.) 22 Nov 2016 13:43:41

I am really impressed with Matip, not so convinced with lovren but in my opinion he is definitely good enough to keep. I would try to get someone to go with Matip and keep lovren and Gomez for back up and rotation. This is we improve defensively in my view.

5.) 22 Nov 2016 14:22:00
Cheers for reply ed.

Redwin. we have matip Lovren Klavan Gomez and Lucas already. It makes zero sence adding another cb? He will be megga expensive and eds has said no interest.

6.) 22 Nov 2016 14:41:27
LFC forever,
Klavan is not good enough and Lucas not a centre back. Lucas is only a back up plan, I wouldn't want him in that position for a sustained run of games.
Lovren long term is not the answer either if we have he ambition to be the best so what do you suggest we do to improve at the back?

7.) 22 Nov 2016 15:56:49
Lucas is a better cb than sahko.

8.) 22 Nov 2016 17:21:32

I know what your saying but all I am sayin is we have 4 centre backs plus Lucas vying for 2 places. Before we bring anymore in we would need to move some on. The talk about Van Dryk has only come about because he is a Saints player were we like shopping from.

Eds, can i ask your thoughts please on if centre backs is an atea we are looking at recruiting in?

{Ed002's Note - I have explained who the club has been looking at.}

9.) 22 Nov 2016 17:52:57
How is lucas a better cb than sakho? He'd be first choice if he didn't have a terrible attitude.

10.) 22 Nov 2016 17:58:11
There's no way we're in for him.
It's just idiots in the press making rubbish up because he had
a decent game against us.

11.) 22 Nov 2016 22:34:53
Sepp really.

12.) 23 Nov 2016 01:35:33
We need someone top drawer to partner Matip, am convinced its not Lovren and unfortunately Sakho has ruined his chances with Klopp. I hope Gomez will get there but his injury and inexperience mean that that's at least 18 months away. I doubt we will go for Van Dijk, irrespective of ability, but due to cost surely Klopp will be looking at the Bundeslige again for a partner for Matip.

13.) 23 Nov 2016 13:38:20
I don't think the Lovren-Matip is as bad as people are making it out to be. Sure, Matip is the better player but Lovren has improved a lot under Klopp. Lovrewn is as good or better than Cahill, and I don't see any slating of Cahill anywhere. I think the differences between Van Dijk and Lovren are that Lovren is probably a tad quicker and more agile, whereas Van Dijk is a more imposing figure and better in corners and set pieces. Now it's up to the club if they want to spend 20-30 million for these differences.

14.) 25 Nov 2016 00:43:23
I think that the whole defence will sbow a steady improvement at the same rate as Karius gets experience.
The more that they play together the better they'll get.
I think Lovren could finish the season with 5+ goals
Which could be crucial.

11 Nov 2016 09:58:05
Morning Eds

All this talk about Coutinho going in the summer, will Klopp be aware of the interest and his agent talking to Barcelona and the fact that the player has said he will stay one more year (this being the extra year) or does he think he can keep him still beyond this season?

Lfc forever

{Ed001's Note - it really depends on how the season goes, Couts has said openly he wants Champions League football.}

1.) 11 Nov 2016 11:11:26
If couts were to go we must be talking Bale type transfer fees i would guess. Still rather him stay though.

2.) 11 Nov 2016 11:35:21
He did told he wants CL football but I'm worrying if we don't win the leauge but still we get CL he will leave as he wants tittles aswell. Anyway let's hope we will get CL spot next season and Cou stays :) )

3.) 11 Nov 2016 11:35:21

{Ed002's Note - If he wants tittles it is more a case of changing his diet and letting himself go a little - and the preferred term is, I understand from Ed025, moobs.}

4.) 11 Nov 2016 12:36:23
If he keeps playing like he is at the moment I don't know if anyone could afford him.

5.) 11 Nov 2016 12:37:15
Anyone thinking Bobby will maybe get a good few offers as well. Barca/ Real/ PSG :- (

6.) 11 Nov 2016 12:50:16
Not true ed002, the money he's got he could easily afford gender re-assignment surgery. .

So I'm told 😘.

7.) 11 Nov 2016 13:13:24
😂😂😂 moobs 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 tittles. Class 02.

8.) 11 Nov 2016 13:47:27
Appreciate your reply Ed. So if we finish top 4 and get CL football he might stay? I thought even if we win the League he is on his way?

{Ed002's Note - You have a penchant for jumping to conclusions. No decisions have been made.}

9.) 11 Nov 2016 13:06:12
It cracks me up, if couts wants champs league football he should help us get it! He played in the Europa final ( I say played, he was on the pitch) more prestigious than QF of champs league. If he's not going to do anything in the final what makes him think he deserves champions league? If he goes I won't lose sleep. We'll get top dollar an replace him well I have faith in Jurgen. Personally I think he's going nowhere tho.

10.) 11 Nov 2016 14:05:28
Ok mate, fair enough.

11.) 11 Nov 2016 14:35:11
Scouse John. He can't perform every single game. The fact we lost that game should indicate how much we rely on him.

12.) 11 Nov 2016 15:15:22
If he goes in my opinion he will/ should be the record transfer, pogba/ bale has nothing on coutinho. Can teams afford Him? If they want him enough of course they can. I don't believe he will be off anywhere though personally. We will make top 4 and maybe even win the league, to me he will stay with us but I'm not in the know so who am I to talk about it. Be all and end all, should he go, He's been great and I'd wish him all the luck in the world at his future club.

13.) 11 Nov 2016 16:20:48
Agree with that 16, if he becomes a Brazilian national star player, they always command ridiculous fees and he should be no different. There's a part of me wonders that even if we were to win the league he might feel, job done and might still want to move. Either way, I think we're in for a great season from him.

14.) 11 Nov 2016 18:31:54
Haha ed002 your a legend mate to funny "mobs"
Up the pool.

{Ed002's Note - Moobs, not mobs.}

15.) 11 Nov 2016 23:05:27
Lfc hopeful - very true mate, it could well go that way. But yeah plus side is we have him for this season and he could lead us to that title, you never know. Either way he will be vital for us as long as he's with us so I'm just enjoying the moment.

16.) 12 Nov 2016 12:14:41
1.He's not better than Bale 2.he is replaceable. 3. Money talks .

17.) 13 Nov 2016 10:05:00
Bracelona are still interested.

Anyone remember titi camara?

09 Nov 2016 17:13:20
Hello ed, again.

You got anything on Christian Pavon interest from us please?

Lfc forever

{Ed002's Note - I would think the chances of a move to Liverpool are very slim and I am not aware of any interest - and it would mean Liverpool paying well over the odds for a player in terms of fees and wages to stand any chance of a work permit. There are also discussions ongoing about a move to another club for next season. He will be playing in Sevilla on Friday I would think.}

1.) 09 Nov 2016 18:08:39
Cheers Ed.

09 Nov 2016 10:35:57
Good morning Ed002

I know your busy mate but have you got anything on these Sardar Azmoun rumours stating that we are looking to bring him in January? I have read he has been scouted by nearly every team so i'm guessing there is not much in it other than we have also watched him?

Thanks in advance.

Lfc forever

{Ed002's Note - Sardar Azmoun was subject to a very public dispute between Rubin Kazan and Rostov which ended in favour of Rostov this past summer. Stoke had agreed a transfer with Rubin Kazan prior to the CAS proceedings but were aware that it would be very difficult to make a case for a work permit. Everton had also looked at the player last season but, like Stoke, new the Work Permit situation would be a problem. Whilst playing for RK in 2014 it was suggested that Brendan Rodgers was keen on the player but I cannot confirm that. Rubin Kazan received a little over €2M in compensation at the ruling of CAS and have no recourse for appeal. Marseille have watched the player this season and would possibly be interested in the summer, but they remain concerned that his best form comes in International sides who are lowly ranked. Antalyaspor and Konyaspor have attended matches to watch Azmoun this season and Liverpool had representatives at the recent Atletico Madrid v Rostov game but I do not know the reason why - to look at Azmoun (who scored)? Perhaps. So a maybe at best - and perhaps an odd choice.}

1.) 09 Nov 2016 13:06:57
Cheers ed. Obtaining a work permit might be an issue then.

{Ed002's Note - Not if someone were to overpay for him.}

2.) 09 Nov 2016 13:25:20
Owe right. wouldn't be the first time for us. See what develops. Cheers for replys Ed.

3.) 10 Nov 2016 11:07:46
how come overpaying makes a difference to work permits ed?

{Ed002's Note - Because it is a points based system now. The player needs a minimum of four points and summary goes something like this:
- The value of the transfer fee (alone) that is to be paid is between the top 75% and 100% of all transfers to Premier League clubs in the previous 2 windows - 3 points
- The value of the transfer fee being paid for the player is between 50% and 75% of all transfers to Premier League clubs in the previous 2 windows - 2 points
- The basic wage (excluding bonuses) being paid to the player by the new club is in the top 25% of the top 30 earners at the club - 3 points
- The basic wage (excluding bonuses) being paid to the player by the new club is between 50% and 75% of all the top 30 earners at the club - 2 points
- Subjectively, the player’s current club is in a recognised "top" league and the player has played in 30% or more of the available domestic league minutes - 1 point
- The player’s existing club has played in the group stages or onwards of the Champions League, Europa League or the Copa Libertadores within the last 12 months and the player has played in 30% or more of the available domestic league minutes - 1 point

4.) 12 Nov 2016 10:18:47
Can a work permit be taken away after a player has obtained one. Like if transfers that took place after player X was bought pushed him from the bracket of 2 points for transfer fee to 1 point or something similar and he then fell short of the point total needed. Is this possible or is it set at the time of transfer?

{Ed002's Note - It can be taken away under certain circumstances, but not the situation you describe. The rules as applied are at the time of the player making the move and the application being made.}

Hi eds

This situation with Matip, are we expecting a quick solution with him available to play for us in the next few days or is it likely to take weeks?

Lfc forever

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea where the problem rests.}

13 Jan 2017 18:01:50
Hi eds

How do you think we should line up this weekend mate please if you was picking the team.

Lfc forever

{Ed025's Note - i would like to see the same side as in the league cup, but with a few of the promising youngsters thrown in.. :)

1.) 14 Jan 2017 09:24:53
What else would you say as Everton is a retirement home for man Utd players!

06 Jan 2017 14:17:24
Ed001. I appreciate the club have said Hendo is not available this weekend but is his heel injury thought to be short term as in dats rather than weeks/ months.

Lfc forever

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

1.) 06 Jan 2017 21:12:48
Will the united game be too early for him ed? I think we'll be in trouble if we are without him against them.

{Ed001's Note - he was being said to be a slight doubt for the weekend. So he should be fit for the game after for sure. Not checked, as I can't see how that would have changed, unless he damaged it doing a fitness test. However, I doubt he would have been doing anything other than having treatment, as he is not needed this weekend.}

04 Jan 2017 18:29:35
Lucas situation gone quite ed, does he look like staying now?

Lfc forever

{Ed002's Note - You mean now that the window has been open for three days? I have better things to do than answer questions wanting updates every few hours.}

1.) 04 Jan 2017 21:46:40
Oh no you haven't. Sorry panto season is over now isn't it, I do aplologise.

03 Jan 2017 11:01:10
Imo these 2 cup games have come at the right time. Squad rotation will come in. Ed am I right in thinking Couts Hendo Matip should be back for the Utd game?

Lfc forever

{Ed002's Note - The club have yet to say.}

1.) 03 Jan 2017 11:30:06
Hope so, these three would be a massive boost and give us our best chance of nullifying Ibrahimavic, Mkhitaryan, Pogba.
