{Ed0333's Note - Have fun you crazy kids.

5.) 26 Dec 2018 00:38:00

6.) 26 Dec 2018 06:24:36

7.) 26 Dec 2018 09:48:55

Safe travels mate, favourite game of the season. Cannot stand newcastle, considering Benitez doesn’t even believe they’ll stay up, we have a good chance to hammer them. I’d be happy with 5 nil today, but I’d take 3 nil 🤪.

{Ed025's Note - i like newcastle aoe, not because of their team which are awful but because of their supporters who are top notch, follow the team through thick and thin even though they let them down most times they never give up, they have the best away support (after everton) in the league and deserve better from their team (just like everton)..

10.) 26 Dec 2018 10:44:09
Totally disagree about their fans. Constant booing of ex players, players who once played for Sunderland. Players who scored against them. Players who fouled one of their players three years ago. Players who turned down a chance to sign for them. Their own players for being crap. I’m sorry, don’t mistake entitlement for passion and Newcastle fans feel entitled to the world and haven’t done a thing. Haha rant done ed, hope you had a good Christmas mate.

{Ed025's Note - i did thanks aoe, all supporters can be terrible moaners (with liverpool being top of that table) at times, they are very passionate and i like that..being a very passionate guy myself mate.. :)

11.) 26 Dec 2018 11:06:37
Not too many ex players are booed or given abuse when they come back to Anfield in fact I can only think of Owen and Diouf.

12.) 26 Dec 2018 11:06:50
You’d need to be with that last result. Wacca wacca. Sorry ed, low blow but in fairness, you did set up the assist.

{Ed025's Note - i did mate and wont defend sloppiness by players who are payed so well and are supposedly professional..

Going to be going to Liverpool for the first time on Boxing Day to see the game versus Newcastle. I can not wait for this dream trip and was just wondering if anyone familiar to the city had any suggestions for match day, things to do in the city, or good day trips that may be worth a look. Thanks!

YNWA.

Hi jraz- I can’t believe no one else has replied to this so sorry about that. Tbh there are loads of good pubs in the town centre so follow your nose.

My main recommendation, depending on your music tastes, would be to take the Beatles taxi tour. You’ll go to where they lived, met, played their first gig, wrote Eleanor Rigby, you’ll go to strawberry fields and drive down penny lane. The taxi driver will be your personal guide and as a proud scouser will be a comedian as well! Very enjoyable. It’s about £50 for at least 3 hours so good value. It leaves from the end of Matthew Street and returns there so you can go to the cavern afterwards. I think you have to book in advance tho so look it up online.

Hope you have a great trip and most of all that LFC win!

2.) 01 Aug 2018 14:23:26
Hey Stoneage,

Thanks for the reply. That sounds awesome and I was actually looking into some Beatles related activities. The taxi sounds like it covers it all.

Ed’s, as has been mentioned multiple times; Liverpool are looking to offload Migs and I would guess Karius as well if the right offer came. I also think ed02 mentioned that a back up GK may come in before the window closes. I was just wondering which keepers we are looking at to fill the void?

This site turns into a train wreck any time something does not go our way. Soccer is a game played by humans who make mistakes. We have had a season better than most of us would have expected in the summer. We have some excellent players and are looking to bring in more this summer.

To lose a game like that is heartbreaking but we need to put things in perspective. I got one am going to continue to support the team, believe in the players and the managers, and watch every game I can.

To come on here and bash players, the eds, the season in general, illustrates why the Eds call so many of us fickle. It is hard, as someone who fell in love with this team because of the fans, to see the so called greatest fans on earth behave this way.

Eds I am sure the last 24 hours have been a real pain and I hope you know that we appreciate what you do. Let’s get behind the team and the manager in every way we can. YNWA needs to mean something.

jraz624

1.) 27 May 2018 20:25:04
Mate, the players will be on holiday, how do we support them? Go and wave their plane off?

2.) 27 May 2018 20:54:04
Ron Keague that made me chuckle.

3.) 27 May 2018 21:03:01
By not calling for every player to be sold. By not calling on another rebuild. By not criticizing every player we are interested in. By not sending death threats to our goalie. By not calling for the gk coach to be fired. By not blaming Klopp for every little thing that went wrong.

4.) 27 May 2018 21:18:13
Jraz the only thing that changed for me after yesterday was that we need a new GK. How karius played was like nothing I have seen and unfortunately for him I see no way back.

Other than that I think we all knew before the game that we need to strengthen the midfield and add cover for the front 3.

5.) 27 May 2018 21:36:04
Jraz, unfortunately before the final we still needed the additions to the first team, a new goal keeper and a new gk coach. The death threats is a shame and embarrassing to the club but in every single team you are going to have a small section of fans that are missing a few brain cells.

6.) 27 May 2018 21:36:32
I'm hoping that none of the idiots that have threatened his life or wished bad on his children go anywhere near this site ever. That being said I feel really bad for LK and he need not be vilified but I just can't trust him as our goalkeeper who will save us 10 points minimum a season and will turn up when it comes to the crunch. So I can't say let's keep him and expect us to progress further. If that equates to men being fickle then so be it.

7.) 27 May 2018 22:06:32
Ok jraz, for me not sending death threats or any kind of vile message is just normal behaviour.

Asking for transfers, in and out, is again part and parcel of football. If we don’t improve the quality of players every year we will go backwards.

I actually don’t “blame” Karis for the defeat, but I still want an improvement on him and I think for his own sanity he needs a transfer back to Germany where fans in general are less moronic and more forgiving.

8.) 27 May 2018 22:20:14
I hear you Ron. Not saying all on here are doing these things. It is okay to debate about what additions we would like to see and what not but it is disheartening on here sometimes. I am just calling for a bit more positivity and a little less knee jerk reaction.

9.) 27 May 2018 22:24:24
Come July we’ll all be filled with positivity and excitement again jraz 👍
I actually think this site has been quite controlled in its reaction but then I don’t read the posts which get blocked by the Eds 😄.

10.) 27 May 2018 22:57:52
Good posts as always Ron.

Ed001, I am at a complete loss as to why Matip keeps getting partnered with VVD. I think it was mentioned that Lovren had a slight injury this past weekend, but prior to that, Matip has had more looks at RCB. Is this something that Klopp is aware of and what do you think the long term plan is?

I am also concerned about our champions league match. How do you set up the defense? Without Gomez at right back I think we will get exposed.

jraz624

{Ed001's Note - Klopp is just doing what he did with Mignolet and Karius, giving them both a chance to prove themselves, as neither are the ideal choice. While Lovren is, usually, a better suited partner, he is also prone to random errors out of nowhere. You never know if two players will find a balance between them until you try them together to be honest.

There is also the problem of fitness, neither of them can be relied upon to play twice a week without picking up an injury, so Klopp is using rotation to help avoid that as well. It does help none of the players at the back to be rotated though, as they are not able to get used to a partner.}

1.) 02 Apr 2018 09:59:10
Cracking reply that Ed01. On that note then would you say VVD is getting a little bit of the short straw as he is playing more or less every week but with a new partner alongside him which would effect him and his and. Plus with his price tag he is the one under the most scrutiny from media and fans alike.

{Ed001's Note - no, he needs to man up and lead and stop bloody strolling around.}

2.) 02 Apr 2018 10:26:24
Ed01 I get that mate and totally agree that it doesn't matter what partner he has, it should not effect his individual performance. Just meant he's not getting a chance to build a rapport with the same partner getting continuity beside him. Anyway keep up the great work and enjoy your bank holiday Monday.

{Ed001's Note - sorry get what you mean. I agree on that. It is something that does not help and I am sure in an ideal world Klopp would like to be able to put out a consistent team week in week out. However it is not proving to be possible.}

3.) 02 Apr 2018 11:32:44
Spot on, Ed and Jayden. Both Matip and Lovren are not the most ideal even tho, I agree that Lovren is the better defender, more physical, brave and stronger than Matip BUT as you say, he has an error in him at the most in-opportuned time. Matip for me, is not good enough, end of. He is lazy panics, gets bullied and lacks physicality and aerial dominance for such a big lad. Klopp needs to play either next to VVD to find out who is the better fit BUT it still does not help the any of the CB's with building a better partnership.

As for VVD, his lackadaisical approach and stroller attitude were two of my issues with him and it was all on show vs CP and had Benteke scored, it would have been all his fault and no one else's. He needs to step it up, man up and be a leader and stop believing in his own hype and ability, alone. Must do better.

4.) 02 Apr 2018 14:57:08
He's playing because lovren is a complete liability, he's not much better if at all but is not prone to baffling decision making and catastrophic mistakes. Lesser of two evils you could say.

5.) 02 Apr 2018 16:33:32
Both shouldn’t be starting. Lovren is fine as a back up but Matip should leave IMO.

6.) 02 Apr 2018 17:04:25
You think Matip has been a better partner for VVD than Lovren since VVD came in Waro?
I don’t think either are the answer myself after this season ends and I know Lovren has his track record of being a liability but since VVD was signed I would say Lovren is by far a better option right now next to VVD than Matip.

{Ed025's Note - i would agree mikey..

7.) 02 Apr 2018 19:24:15
I think klaven was playing well but since the Burnley game hasn't played much. He's a better defender than lovern and matip imo. I would have tried him with vvd at least to see if it would work.

{Ed001's Note - they play the same position. It is an either or with them as neither are comfortable on the right side of a back four.}

8.) 02 Apr 2018 19:56:56
No Mikey there both crap, but at least matip isn't a walking accident waiting to happen.

9.) 02 Apr 2018 20:23:20
Waro, if you think Matip is not a walking accident then you are wrong. Matip yeas, does a lot of walking on the pitch as like VVD, he is a stroller and lacks physicality, dominance and is as lazy as they come. Lovren has his crazy moments BUT is a better defender, brave, never hides and relishes a challenge. I'd have that CB any day over a lazy stroller like Matip.

10.) 02 Apr 2018 21:49:39
Lovren is the better defender with regards to Matip but that doesn’t exactly mean much when there’s always a mistake waiting to happen. Sorry to say it but he reminds me a little of Titus Bramble, can look solid for 89 but them he’ll do something stupid which leads to a goal, which is unfortunately what will be highlighted.

11.) 03 Apr 2018 14:09:52
Westwood, Bramble has never looked solid for even 8 mins. I think you have a diff. memory of Bramble than the rest of us.

Ed02, please don’t let the stupid internet trolls ruin things for everyone. It is clear that some of the people who visit this site only do so to get a rise out of fans and make everyone look bad. I think I speak for most here when I say that your posts provide excellent insight into the club. Thanks for all you do.

Shaqiri is far from the safe option. He is lazy and thinks he is better than he is. We don’t want him anywhere near our team.

Never seen him play and yet I am sure he must be the greatest midfielder of all time. This came out of nowhere!

Could we get a quick scout report. Where does he play in the midfield? What type of player is he?

{Ed025's Note - holding mid but can play full back mate..

I would rather see the team relegated and playing in the championship with the fans as owners than sell our souls and the team values for that kind of money. Liverpool is supposed to stand for something more than the game. It is the reason the team is special. I would rather go the Klopp direction and build within our means than splash cash on mercenaries and win every year. It is not special for City when they win the league, it is expected: anything less is a failure. Where is the fun or excitement in that? It is a shame that so many fans are willing to forget where the team comes from for a little taste of instant and unearned gratification.

Many of us foreign fans don’t want the super league either. I don’t know one person here in the U. S. that wasn’t disgusted by the super league proposal.

Mighty Reds, this comment is a joke. Based on this season any game involving Liverpool sure hasn’t been a blast to watch either. Our owners have tried to ruin the game we love at the expense of others. They tried to close the door so no one else could get in. I am not going to waste my time explaining all of the reasons why this is vile, but our owners are at the heart of it.

I follow this team because of the ethos that defines it. It is clear that the owners no longer believe in that ethos and would rather spit on the past.

Tottenham held their team together and made no changes in the last two windows and that worked out for them. Sometimes keeping a young hungry team together and adding a few small pieces can be all a team needs. We have a young squad and players will be more comfortable with each other next year. We also get Ox back which is a huge bonus.
