Tomorrow will be a bizarre day. I have been watching Liverpool for 20 odd years and I don't remember anyone leaving where there seemed such emotion tied to it. Gerrard did to an extent but not too this level. I think that’s because it was on the cards due to performance and age.

Even though it’s been announced for 3-4 months, it still seems such a shock.

His tenure is littered with moments that just the players names can bring back some terrific memories.

Lallana
Lovren
Origi (x at least three! )
Alisson
Salah

And the list could go on.

Klopp will be judged by other fans by his record, which maybe is light for the size of the club. But when you consider where we were, the long wait we were experiencing and the team we had. That’s before you put city in the equation which only time will show the impact of their charges.

The journey is one we will reminisce about for decades and hopefully his legacy will be the foundation he has laid for slot and future managers. Again only time will answer that.

But for now, we need to enjoy the last game, give the man the best send off possible and see where out future goes from here.

At the end of the day, we only feel this sadness due to the highs he has taken to and I can confirm I am now 100% a believer.

I’m just grateful that he was our manager. He brought the pride back. But for 115 FC and their unique accounting methods, Klopp would have more titles, but that doesn’t throw shade on what he achieved, but for Klopp, 115 FC would be making it seem even more of a farmers league than it’s becoming.

People look at trophies as the be all and end all.

We were dormant for years. Then Juergen came. Kaboom!

18 May 2024 22:57:43
I’m quite cool about it, maybe because I’m older.

Probably Kenny leaving was the most shocking and disappointing move for me. No-one wanted him to leave, everyone was upset. Everyone understood his decision.

After that, nothing is quite as emotional.

Of course I’m grateful for Jurgen and will never forget his achievements, but he’s leaving at the right time.

 2

19 May 2024 00:21:57
Totally agree! Yeah if anyone think his achievements are light by comparing his to that golden era decades ago, ok I won't argue a single bit.

For me, I'm comparing his achievements to the era of H&G, so for me, he is a legend!

Good bye and thank you so much, Klopp.

The time is right because Klopp has said it is. He needs a break and he deserves one but time will tell how it will affect the club. It had to happen one day though.
Tomorrow will be emotional because he is an emotional and likeable bloke. I guarantee that he will get emotional and that affect a lot of us. He's been more than just a manager. He massively bought into this club and it was like we had a fan, no different to the rest of us, managing the club.
If he wasn't so likeable and good at his job tomorrow wouldn't be so difficult.
Anyway, I'll put my big boys pants on, gulp several times and chop some onions for tea just before the end of the game.

The best thing is that even though City will win the league tomorrow, no one will care because it will all be about Klopp. That will hurt pep’s fragile ego.

19 May 2024 03:28:50
Agreed Ron.

Great post WY.

One of them for me, I'm gutted we're here but it was always going to happen wasn't it? I just hope we can continue doing well. I also hope Klopp can just enjoy life for a while and relax, he's put everything in - good luck to the legend he is. An incredible person and an incredible manager, one which will be talked about long after us lot are gone.

19 May 2024 07:01:46
See I personally don’t get this trophy talk. Sometimes you have to look beyond that, especially when your competition has been the Man City juggernaut.

In 9 years Klopp took Liverpool to three champions league finals and won one.

Ferguson got to four in 27 years and won 2.

Wenger got to one champions league final in 22 years and lost.

Pep has only taken that monster of a City team to 2 finals and won one.

Also, Klopp finished second, twice, on more points than either Man Utd or Arsenal ever achieved under either of their legendary managers.

Yes, he could, potentially should, have won more trophies but he took a team that was nowhere, spent less than all his contemporaries and took that team from nowhere to win the lot.

Shanks set the tone - he showed the fans the dream and brought it to life. He understood people and he was attuned to the city and the city took him to heart.

Great people followed him with King Kenny perhaps the most shining example. A brilliant footballer but much more a fine human being who did so much for the community, in times of horrendous adversity.

All the best keepers of the dreams have had the quality of understanding people, of empathy with them and an ability to inspire them and not just in a football sense.

Jurgen stands with the best of the ‘dream keepers’, a great footballing mind but far more a great human being too. As @WY said, we are sad because we will miss the joy he has brought us. Anything but the ‘normal one’.

Thank you Jurgen. You will be greatly missed but will always be remembered fondly.

Tomorrow is going to be to be very, very emotional. So while i've got a lid on it, i want to say thank you Jurgen.

Thank you for some of the best times of my adult life. For making my dreams true and for giving me magical moments to share with my kids.

Thank you for giving it everything you had. For getting what this club means to us. For everything.

Enjoy whatever comes next, and to paraphrase the words of Mr Shankly: 'Jurgen, you're immortal now'.

This is want Jurgen means to me.

When he joined Liverpool in October 2015 my partner was very poorly . But we would sit and watch Liverpool games together. It was a thing we did that gave her a little comfort . She would talk about this giant crazy German running all over the place on the touch line, she loved watching him and his reactions . A little over a year after I gained Jurgen as manager, I lost her as my partner . Shed died 07/ 10/ 2016 at the age of just 31 leavi g me and my then 7 year old boy. She never got to see all the triumph and trophies , she never got to see. corner taken quickly., well not from here, but she did from above.

All I can say dear Jurgen is thankyou. Thankyou and LFC for getting me and my boy, now 15, through the toughest time of our lives . Me and him would watch as trophies were lifted and look to the sky and smile. We truly never walked alone during these last 8 years since she went, as we had you and LFC . Tomorrow will be so hard for all LFC fans, but for me doubley so as it will be without her sat next to me. But I will be here at home with my boy watching the giant crazy German run up and down the touchline.

I remember you mate, I believe if I remember correctly you live in Hessle? around the corner from me. A great post mate. I hope life is treating you very well.

 4

18 May 2024 15:37:32
Not in Hessle Salah mate but West Hull . Im doing well my friend I hope you are too.

 1

18 May 2024 18:01:04
From a fellow Hessle resident - up the reds!

19 May 2024 00:13:02
That's a really touching post kimura, your angel has had the best seat in the house to see everything klopp achieved. Keep strong and living the good life for you and your son, YNWA.

 3

19 May 2024 01:15:22
Keep going, kimura, and always remember- at the end of the storm, there's a golden sky and you know the rest, mate.
You're right in what you said.
Football is a big part of our lives. It can create memories and impact our moods. We've had a great nine years and a manager that enjoyed it as much as us if not more so.

 0

19 May 2024 03:37:19
kimuraking, apologies mate, I must've got you mixed up with the other hessle fella :) . I'm glad you are doing well.

Mo Salah and Darwin nunez have been modelling the new training kits and home kit for Liverpool which you'd expect pictures of at the club store and stadium which would indicate both are staying, no sign of luis Diaz so maybe he's the one moving on?

 3

18 May 2024 10:34:26
I wouldn't mind him going if we replace him. He tries hard and works hard but he lacks the bits that really matter for his position.
Salah is Salah and next season is the crunch one for Nunez.
Of the other two, I like Jota as a cover player but he needs to be there most of all and I'm not sure about Gakpo yet. He underwhelms me but he probably deserves a chance under the new manager.
But they all for sale if the money is right 😂.

 3

18 May 2024 10:54:39
@Risby, hang on a minute mate, we’ve got to sell all our defence first!

 8

18 May 2024 11:18:04
I think Slotball will suit Diaz well.

He got a good tune out of his compatriot Sinisterra at Feyernood (before his move to Leeds) .

I think the wide players will be asked to do more and this will suit Diaz whereas it won’t suit Salah who has played more like a right forward for us under klopp.

Salah will either move centrally or be sold imo.

 5

18 May 2024 12:34:16
In fairness to Gakpo,16 goals this year despite been far from a guaranteed starter. Think he'll get better.

 10

18 May 2024 12:48:31
I think Diaz should be sold. But he’s not the only one. We need a champions league squad, it’s currently lacking quality and the likes of Jota, Konate, Jones etc these lads need moving on if they can’t stay fit, massive liabilities.
If Salah goes, we need goals.

 0

18 May 2024 13:28:02
If Diaz leaves then i wouldn't buy an attacker . Gakpo should play there . over the last 2 months he seems to have found some rhythm. looks more aggressive n works hard . jota can play anywhere along the front n Danns can be used aswel.

 2

18 May 2024 13:35:56
Simply reddd, Im not sure that's how cut and dry this is. Keep in mind that these kit photo shoots may have been done weeks or even months ago so not sure if this correlates with who is staying and who is going.

On a personal level, Darwin ain't going anywhere and Im not sure he is looking to leave that desperately either. Diaz and Salah rumours are there so we will see how things shake out.

Also, remember that with a new manager coming in and he may want to have a good look at these players and then decide and even then, not all the players you or I want to leave are going to leave in one summer cos at the end of the day, you still need a squad and players to fill it.

 0

18 May 2024 14:06:29
This is Klopps squad so the new manager is bound to want to come in and put his stamp on it.

No doubt there will be casualties to the squad over the next 3-4 windows.

Truth is though that this current squad will be a far better group of players than Slot has ever worked with.

 1

18 May 2024 14:53:11
I like the look of Danns but surely we need proven quality in the striking department?

 1

18 May 2024 17:09:55
Slot going to struggle li think, Nunez can’t hit a barn door and salah is shot. Fsg unlikely to provide what’s needed. Let’s not forget Klopp is a generational manager and he only won 1 pl, what’s slot going to do?

 1

18 May 2024 18:08:39
It's almost as if you want us to struggle Mr Bean🤔😁.

 0

18 May 2024 18:36:44
If the money is right then every player is “for sale”.

 1

18 May 2024 19:36:19
I understand a little what Bean is saying.

We often say that Klopp is the best manager in the world and only he could do what he did against Peps City.

Unfortunately we only bettered Pep once in the league and won the CL on that amazing night. But Klopp is leaving and a new man is coming in.

So either no other manager can do what Klopp did and it means we’ll continue to fall short or Slot needs to prove he can actually do better than what Klopp did.

I’m looking forward to seeing what Slot brings but I wouldn’t bet my house on it being a success.

Can we realistically expect a title challenge next season with a new man. As I’d imagine Trent, Salah and Vvd etc would want to be title challengers when it comes to discussing their new contracts.

 1

19 May 2024 01:28:43
WDW, I forgot about that, my apologies 😂.

Navy Keith, don't say Slotball, please.

Ron, I was talking about the front four. I wouldn't sell Salah unless we got a good offer and he wanted to go. I don't think he wants to go to the Saudi league. There are few players that I would class as not for sale. Alisson, van Dijk, TAA would be three and I wouldn't be courting offers for Salah.
If we can improve on Alisson, van Dijk and TAA, I'd sell they would be the hardest to replace, for me.

 0

19 May 2024 02:14:50
Mr Bean is a troll. Spent the better part of last season and this calling for Klopp to be sacked and now that he's going, he's suddenly a generational manager and we would struggle without him.

18 May 2024 07:12:07
Jim the red
Yes all brilliant managers in their own right
But what did the Romans do for us.

 1

18 May 2024 09:30:19
Have you taken your pills yet? If not, you should.

 5

18 May 2024 13:36:32
Kennys, I have NO idea what you are on about?

 1

18 May 2024 21:41:14
The Aqueduct?

“Winning four Premier League titles in succession is incredible. Never been done before. Congratulations to Pep and the team.
“It reminds me of when I won my seven Tour de France victories. The similarities of dominance are endless. ”
- Lance Armstrong on 115radio.

 17

18 May 2024 08:24:35
By hook or by crook 😏.

 4

18 May 2024 08:45:59
The only similarities are their cheating behaviors.

Also, nothing guaranteed just yet Lance. Unless you know something that we don't.

 3

18 May 2024 09:21:20
Lance Armstrong a. k. a Doper in Chief or DIC is just calling things as he sees them. Ironically, the Abu Dhabi Group that bought City in 2008 was also named DIC. Ironic, indeed.

 4

18 May 2024 09:50:31
And City could be on for seven in a row had it not been for Jürgen Klopp and his bow and arrow.

 4

18 May 2024 10:35:58
Whenever Pep looks angry, I do always wonder if it’s roid rage.

 2

18 May 2024 11:29:43
JLC, I think it’s gone over your head mate 😂.

 4

18 May 2024 12:20:34
There's some talk online of a fine of 350 million, which would get given and spread out amongst the EPL teams. LFC would presumably get around 17-18 million for the incovenience of losing 2 champions titles amongst other things. No mention of point deductions or title relinquishing.

Of course it's only online blabber, but it's a histerical joke anyway. So this is what you get when you cheat consistently for almost a decade.

{Ed002's Note - It is nonsense.}

18 May 2024 12:31:48
I imagined it was, Ed002. Thanks for clarifying.

18 May 2024 13:41:26
Nah, come on ArAy1969. You had to know that was a nothing burger, right? I also read online that there could be an out of court settlement btw both City and the PL. Now that one, took the biscuit for me. What a crock of crap!

At the end of the day, the hearing will happen and City will have their day in court and their chance to provide the evidence they have been telling us all these years that they, that will exonerate them of ALL charges. At that point, it will come down to the evidence and the facts hence, posturing and making boombastic statements in the public sphere will be over.

 0

18 May 2024 15:24:05
The moment I read "nothing burger" Oli, I immediately thought of the old "where's the meat" ads. 😂.

 0

18 May 2024 17:54:28
(I meant "where's the beef")

 0

19 May 2024 01:42:58
I'd sooner be humble in defeat rather than shout "cheat".
If it's ever proven that City cheated I'll be happy enough on the moral high ground and have forgotten all about the other two League titles and celebrations we could have had. Promise 😂.
They could have had seven in a row and I did celebrate preventing that but out of respect to them I won't mention all my European Cup celebrations.
