Hi Ed's thanks for all your hard work. Apologies if you've already covered this (couldn't find anything on search) but can I get your opinion on tactics. As others on here are stating the inverted full back position doesn't work and leaves too much space in behind when we lose the ball. I'd love to see us go to 4-2-3-1. MacAllister and Trent in the pivot with Szoboszlai further toward behind any of the following rotated Salah, Diaz, Gakpo, jota, Doak. Elliott and Jones would be more comfortable in the Szoboszlai role and the double pivot would help tighten up the back. Mac and Trent given clear vision of the pitch and plays to their strengths of orchestrating the tempo and play. My only concern is where do we find a right back if needed when we already need a new LCB and is Bradley and Gomez enough to fill that position. I'm not going to bother you about potential transfers as I can see that's been covered numerous times ?.

Cam1

{Ed001's Note - Mac Allister would not be a good choice for that role as a regular. Fine to drop into it if we are under the cosh, but his defensive reading of the game is not up to the level required to play that position consistently. He is at his best running forward and playing passes higher up the pitch.}

1.) 08 Aug 2023 14:03:47
Think it shows how short we are Ed with the fact Macallister has to play there yesterday. Do you think Jones or Baj would have played it if fit? Also Gakpo isn’t a midfielder is he, again he only playing there right because of lack of options right?

{Ed001's Note - yes, either of Jones or Bajcetic or even Trent would have played there if Bradley had been fit. Though if Ramsay hadn't been farmed out on loan, Trent could have played there anyway.

Gakpo played to get minutes in his legs as we have a surfeit of forwards. It allowed Klopp to get Jota and Diaz more time too. Though personally I would have preferred to see Nunez than Jota, who can't pass water, let alone the bloody ball.}

2.) 08 Aug 2023 14:59:22
I thought Jota looked like he was carrying something.

3.) 08 Aug 2023 15:05:07
Is Bradley's injury serious? I like the look of him and was hoping he could understudy trent this season. Looks slightly better defensively than trent with some ability going the other way altho not anywhere near trents level.

I think a niggle stopped Curtis starting the match which could be klopp nursing him for the Chelsea game. I agree, mac is much better going forward by providing that gini affect on the left of keeping the ball moving and providing defensive cover.

4.) 08 Aug 2023 15:23:37
I really like Nunez but Is passing one of his strengths.

5.) 08 Aug 2023 15:27:53
Baj Thiago and Bradley aren’t out for long are they Ed mate?

6.) 08 Aug 2023 18:02:29
@dare - Baj and Thiago haven’t been able to play for months - they are nearing fitness but will need to go through the ‘game time’ re-introduction period before either can play a full 90 minutes, and given Thiago’s record there’s no guarantee as to how long he’ll remain fit.

17 Jul 2023 08:29:46
Good morning all. Question for the Ed's if possible. If Fabs does leave and we continue with the inverted RB position with TAA, would Thiago (if he stays at the club and stays fit) be an option for the DM role. I know the opinion is we would look for a new DM but if the right player isn't available does Thiago have the skill set, mentality, etc to play that position. Any opinion is much appreciated. Thanks all and have an amazing week.

Cam1

{Ed001's Note - it is not really his game, he was tried there when he first came in and he struggled badly.}

1.) 17 Jul 2023 09:31:29
He doesn’t have the legs for it! And he’s highly unreliable.

06 Apr 2023 10:52:17
Hi Ed's. This has probably been covered before but couldn't find anything on search. With TAA being so bad this season at RB do you think the age old discussion of him moving into midfield would work. Not saying it will happen as looking at previous seasons there is a good RB in him. My question is does he have the capabilities to work in the hendo role? We know he can pick a pass and create opportunities but does he have the work rate, stamina, metal ability to play that role? Hope everyone is having a good day.

Cam1

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

1.) 06 Apr 2023 11:42:13
In your opinion Would you like to see him played there or would you prefer him to remain at RB?

{Ed001's Note - stay at RB.}

2.) 06 Apr 2023 11:50:04
Henderson doesn’t pick a pass nor create goal scoring opportunities! It’s the LCM who does that which should he Bellingham. TAA should simply play (whenever he plays) where he plays today and not e should sign a proper destroyer at RCM. That’s all you need.

3.) 06 Apr 2023 12:35:12
Harry why are you making stuff up?
If anything our Left centre mid has always been the more stable and less adventurous one. Henderson and Elliott are Klopp's go to players in the right centre mid role and both of them are constantly making overlaps on the right wing or getting forward.

By contrast Thiago in the left centre mid role rarely ever ventures beyond the front 3. Bajcetic was playing there too for a while and not really bombing on.

4.) 06 Apr 2023 12:41:35
That's the thing about Trent. He could become a competent to good midfielder but why do that when he's a freak (in a good way) of a right back. What he can create from there is unrivalled. It makes sense to keep him there and not overcomplicate his game by forcing him to tuck inside like the last 2 seasons.

One criticism on Trent's play is that whatever they have been doing over the last couple of season on the training pitch seems to be geared to increase these "percentage balls" he hits like a golfer, which are taking away his instincts to retain the ball to slow things down or to carry it some yards when more appropriate. They've clearly tried to develop the weapon further and hindered some of his other play.

Not every touch needs to be an assist.

5.) 06 Apr 2023 13:03:38
Sorry but you are having a laugh @MK. We need a destroyer on the right so that our full back homes ag will. Anything else than we have the same issue.
Our LCM is the actual modifier who creates! Cal him a Thiago or whatever (Keita / Jones) the one who has robbo behind him and VVD by side which allows him to charge high up.

Elliot / Salah / TAA has been a massive flop and you know why! All three are offensive!

6.) 06 Apr 2023 13:33:54
Harry you need to tell Klopp, not me. The simple fact is that Klopp likes Elliott or Henderson on the right overlapping Salah. Seemingly so Trent can drift into midfield.

7.) 06 Apr 2023 13:40:05
Capital Income I don't think we had a 'destroyer' at right mid when we won the title.

8.) 06 Apr 2023 13:43:27
I also don't know why you listed Jones and Keita. Jones has started a handful of games and admittedly is usually LCM. But most of Keita's games this season came in a short sustained run in the team playing on the RCM. With Thiago LCM and Bajcetic as the DM.

I know people have high hopes we'll ditch the possession based approach and sack Lijnders but i just can't see it. I think the management team are committed to this way of playing now and they'll instead focus on changing the personnel by signing players who do suit that kind of football. We do need a DOF who specialises in recruitment though and not just negotiation. Otherwise we'll sign the wrong players again.

9.) 06 Apr 2023 13:51:46
Harry as MKS said, you are making stuff up again. At NO point did we play a "destroyer" in the right side of CM under Klopp. Also, you do know that a destroyer is another term for a Defensive Miedfielder or DM, right? What team plays a DM in the 8 role, anyway? Seriously, I want to know. This tells me you don't even watch LFC play BUT this, I already knew. Also, using fancy words like destroyer without knowing what they mean makes your argument even weaker esp. since we are talking about Trent and how good he could be in the 8 on the right of CM.

Most of our overloads and creativity come from the right side with Hendo/ Elliott, Trent and Salah playing in triangles and on the overlap or on the inside. That does not happen on the left as the creativity out there is done differently. For me, I prefer TAA stay at RB cos the damage he is able to do with his freakish passing range, is more effective from deep.

10.) 06 Apr 2023 14:55:16
In the league Robbo is 2nd highest in assists, Tsimikas is 3rd and Nunez is 5th. Our bloody left hand side surely does lack major creativity ?.

11.) 06 Apr 2023 15:04:16
@MK
We are not playing Ljinders way now. So let’s get that straight. Plus I agree Klopp or his hunchman is an idiot to play three offensive players on one side.
Let me make it absolutely clear, if you wish TAA to attach then he needs a destroyer on the right. It used be hendo until this season. This changed and TAA got exposed!
If you are thinking of playing Bellingham on the right with TAA and Salah by his side then he is doomed to FLOP! ???.

@Oli
What is Caicedo or a Kante in your world? I call them destroyers. You can call them whatever you wish but we need that kind of a midfielder on the right.

12.) 06 Apr 2023 15:06:23
Oli

Our creativity on the right comes from TAA when he overlaps Salah and provide us with width. In this situation you need a destroyer behind him and not Elliot. This is the “Klopp’s way”. Or used to be his way.

13.) 06 Apr 2023 15:11:31
@DirtyMid

No we don’t. We call him Jordan Henderson! He was the B2B and Destroyer. You can term it what you want. I want a robust non bully midfielder on the right. Whose job isn’t to dictate / receive a pass from center backs, but he has to absolutely cover TAA and help out our DM to win the second ball. (Caicedo / Thuram / Kone / The prime Kante ) . Henderson did this before. I call those as destroyer! ?.

14.) 06 Apr 2023 15:23:16
I think maybe it's just language.

The effective right-sided 8 has been one that is full of running and has the physicality to lead the counterpress, carry the ball and track back to cover Trent when he chooses to maraud. That requires a lot of physicality - not necessarily a destroyer - but certainly an athlete.

The left-sided 8 under Klopp has tended to not have to make 50 yard sprints in either direction and often slots into a two alongside the 6. The profile of the player has usually been one that protects, passes and if they have the talent on the ball, playmake.

Given we're probably signing a new midfield in the summer, who knows what system we'll go for. So maybe this is all just moot!

15.) 06 Apr 2023 15:29:25
I agree MK in regards to the way we are going to play. If that’s the case tho I can only see an extremely busy Summer in terms of transfers as I can’t see too many of our defenders or midfielders comfortable with this ‘ possession’ type football.

16.) 06 Apr 2023 16:31:56
@MK

Keita played there but he was limited and instructed not to run and charge up. Thiago is wasted on the right and so is Bellingham! No wonder Wijnaldum scored more goals than Henderson coz he use for play on the left. Our left side is the most creative of all, our right side is all about TAA overlapping Salah! There is no other function on the right.

17.) 06 Apr 2023 16:59:58
No, it's not language, it's the same old guy, making stuff up again to suit his agenda. "Henderson does not pick a pass or create goal scoring opportunities"; utter rubbish. Aside when he was slotted in the DM and CB positions during that one season, Henderson has always been one of the two mids slotting in passes up the field to either the right or the left (depending where he was playing) . And I guess it's been forgotten how often Henderson used to (and still does) cross in the ball from the right wing? Yes, there have been periods of time where he was correctly labelled "Mr. Pass-it sideways" but even that was below the midfield line or near it. Once past the half way line Hendo usually moves the ball forward. Now if you're expected to create goal scoring opportunities from behind the half way line then I would suggest you wake up because that era of "hoof-the-ball-up-the-field-for-everyone-to-chase" is long gone.

18.) 06 Apr 2023 17:13:23
Harry, both players are NOT destroyers and, NOT DM's. They are no. 8's in CM who can go both w.

19.) 06 Apr 2023 17:20:17
Sent too soon.

Harry, both players are NOT DM's nor are they destroyers so again, making stuff up and using fancy words you know nothing about means nothing. Both are CM's who can go both ways when in and out of possession and often flourish in a double pivot like Kante did with Matic at Chelsea or with Pogba with France. A destroyer is a DM who breaks up play, recovers the ball and allows his team to launch an attack. That's it.

As for your other point, you effectively made my point for me and repeated what I just said regarding our creativity on our right side. Also as I mentioned, There is creativity on the left side too with Robbo and Thiago, Diaz, Darwin or whoever else BUT it is NOT done the same way as that is not our "strong side" attacking-wise, to use and NFL analogy. Our strong side is the right side regarding our attack.

20.) 06 Apr 2023 17:30:53
Wijnaldum didn't score much more than Henderson though. He had about 20 goals from about 220 appearances. I'm not buying it mate. Henderson has about 30 goals from around 450 appearances and he played several years as an actual DM.

21.) 06 Apr 2023 17:39:34
I agree with Harry. If we are to get the best out of Trent and give him the freedom to do what he does best then we need that midfielder who will do they dirty work and cover the gaps that will obviously be left. Call it what you want, destroyer, No8, DM, doesn’t really matter. As long as he can do the job and get the Trent of old firing on all Cylinders again.

22.) 06 Apr 2023 18:03:17
Ran the numbers for you Harry. The last time our left centre mid had more goal involvements than our right centre mid was the 16/ 17 season. Basically used the stats of the midfielders with the most appearances in each position that season.

16/ 17 (Gini, Hendo, Lallana)
Gini - 6 goals, 11 assists (17)
Lallana - 8 goals, 7 assists (15)

17/ 18 (Gini, Hendo, Milner)
Gini - 2 goals, 4 assists (6)
Milner - 1 goal, 11 assists (12)

18/ 19 (Gini, Fabinho, Hendo)
Gini - 5 goals, 1 assist (6)
Hendo - 1 goal, 5 assists (6)

19/ 20 (Gini, Fabinho, Hendo)
Gini - 6 goals, 0 assists (6)
Hendo - 4 goals, 5 assists (9)

20/ 21
(Couldn't do this season fairly as the midfield was all over the place with Fabinho and Henderson playing centre back)

21/ 22 (Thiago, Fabinho, Hendo)
Thiago - 2 goals, 5 assists (7)
Hendo - 3 goals, 7 assists (10)

22/ 23 (Thiago, Fabinho, Elliott)
Thiago - 0 goals, 1 assist (1)
Elliott - 5 goals, 1 assist (6)

So I'm sorry but even if you refuse to acknowledge what's clear to anybody who watches Liverpool play under Klopp, the stats on which side of the midfield is the most offensive don't back you up either.

I'm failing to see how Lallana, Milner, Henderson or Elliott are destroyers. They literally all started their careers as wingers. Henderson and Milner are better defensively than Elliott, but they're far from destroyers and have been two of our more creative players in recent years.

23.) 06 Apr 2023 18:04:07
Martinelli of Arsenal like many this season has had TAA for toast. Gomez played so well versus Chelsea he deserves another chance this Sunday, perfect time to experiment with TAA in front of him on the Right side of Midfield.

Henderson might be good enough for England but not for LFC.

If Rumours are to be believed, the next manager of Real Madrid face each other Sunday at Anfield.

24.) 06 Apr 2023 22:07:48
Just love it when a flashmob gets together ?. Now if only the music was better. ?.

17 Jan 2023 10:24:18
Morning All hope everyone is keeping well. Ed's QQ and apologies if this has been discussed before. Looking at player contracts ending summer 2023. Would you or others on the group take any of the below in free transfers (again don't know much around the costs of free transfers and whether they have inflated signing on fees etc) but if it meant saving money for the player that everyone wants (Bellingham) would you or others on the group take any of the below:
Milan Skriniar CB 27
Adrien Rabiot CM 27
Youssoufa Moukoko CF 18
Konrad Laimer CM 25
Marcus Thuram CF 25
Houssem Aouar CM 24
Evan Ndicka CB 23
Memphis Depay CF 28.

Cam1

1.) 17 Jan 2023 10:55:39
It's dangerous to assume that Bosman's are good value these days. In addition to the non-trivial signing on fees, it is also worth looking at the reasons their contracts have not been renewed and who their agents are.

2.) 17 Jan 2023 10:56:52
Laimer would be a great addition but I believe he is set on going to Bayern., ad ed01 has said before I think Rabiot would fit in well in our team just got to deal with his mother. is Moukoko 18? ;) Aouar could be very good but has had some injury issues.

3.) 17 Jan 2023 11:00:52
Skriniar OR Ndicka i'd take 100%. Competition for Virgil.

Aouar and Moukoko would be good too.

Laimer is going to Bayern, else i'd say yes.

Not really convinced by the others. Depay and Rabiot cause problems. Thuram isn't an upgrade on what we have at a similar age.

4.) 17 Jan 2023 11:47:18
I’m not sure we can afford Bosman’s can we?

5.) 17 Jan 2023 12:33:39
Skriniar
Rabiot.

Would be the main two to pursue for me. Allegedly both Liverpool fans too.

Moukoko I heard was signing a new deal, but if not another good option.

Haven’t seen the other players play.

6.) 17 Jan 2023 12:48:59
Adrien Rabiot and Evan Ndicka. We are dying for a left footed, left sided CB. Sell Matip and Gomez in the summer. Keep Phillips.

Pass on the rest of the list.

7.) 17 Jan 2023 12:50:20
Missed Aouar, another great option.

8.) 17 Jan 2023 16:50:10
Skriniar, Moukoko, and Laimer. Have never seen Ndicka play. And I wouldn't touch Rabiot with a barge pole. He was good at the World Cup but why is Juventus letting him go exactly? He's not that good at club level or his Mother is too much to handle?

05 Jan 2023 10:17:07
Morning all. Trying to get back into work life after Xmas break but bit bored so Ed's quick question, you've probably answered this before and I can see the posts around players you think would suit etc but if you had to pick 3 realistic potentially available midfielders (I know we can never be sure who is actually available) to replace our current first choice 3 of Henderson, Thiago and Fabs who would you go for? Interested to hear everyone's opinions. Have a great day all.

Cam1

{Ed001's Note - it is impossible to say what is realistic, but 3 that would be available to buy for the right price and should be willing to join would be Bellingham, Caicedo and Enzo. No way we could afford the 3 of them at once though. Personally I would be willing to take a chance on Rabiot on a free - he has said in the past he supports Liverpool and on his day he is a brilliant player. Maybe McKennie and Dewsbury-Hall could be options.}

1.) 05 Jan 2023 11:08:49
Glad to see someone else who rates Rabiot. ?.

2.) 05 Jan 2023 11:18:31
Cam1
Why are asking the Eds? Surely VictorVVV is the one to ask.

3.) 05 Jan 2023 11:22:43
I thought it was all quiet on the Weston front?

4.) 05 Jan 2023 11:32:51
Dewsbury-Hall be a nice signing!

{Ed025's Note - the way its going Bmena you might be signing fork-hall mate.. :)

5.) 05 Jan 2023 11:37:32
Bellingham, Caicedo and Enzo is a dream midfield. Clearly all three have been on the club's radar for a long time. We should be getting these types of players in much earlier. As soon as they join a Dortmund, Benfica or Brighton they become difficult to attain in our model.

I have made no secret of that fact that Kouadio Kone could be a good alternative to Moises Caicedo.

Enzo is unique.
Bellingham is unique.

6.) 05 Jan 2023 11:06:41
Do you see Bajcetic being good enough to become part of a midfield 3 for us going forward Ed? I think he can become a good player for us.

{Ed001's Note - he is certainly good enough to become a player for us, not sure what position he will end up in though.}

7.) 05 Jan 2023 11:28:49
Thanks Ed001. I think I speak in behalf of everyone that those 3 coming in would be a dream. In regards to Rabiot do you think salary demands would be too high for us? Also if (in dream land) 3 new midfielders did come in who would you expect to make way. Reading comments on here it’s believed Ox, Milner, Arthur, potentially Keita will all leave end of season. Would you expect Henderson to step back and take the Milner role within the squad? Thanks for your opinion. It’s getting me through the day ?.

{Ed001's Note - the issue with Rabiot is his family not money. I think you have it right on who is likely to leave. That is also what I expect with regards to Henderson, to gradually be faded out of the first team.

Would everyone be happy with Rabiot? It would be a risk.}

8.) 05 Jan 2023 12:09:26
FlyPelicanFly and Eds - I haven’t seen much of Kouadio Kone but he does look like a strong athletic all round midfielder. Does anyone know much about the lad and whether there is any interest from us or other clubs in him? Interesting to see where we end up in January and summer with the squad.

{Ed002's Note - Manu Kouadio Kone (CM/DM/AM) Prior interest of Milan has gone. Newcastle did approach Borussia Muenchegladbach but they will resist a sale and try and agree a new deal. Watched by a number of Premier League sides including West Ham, Chelsea, Liverpool and Brighton. A wildcard maybe PSG. Way down the list for Chelsea but Vivell may push for him - which could spell the end for Loftus Cheek.}

9.) 05 Jan 2023 12:15:31
I wouldn’t mind taking a risk on rabiot Ed, just as long as he wasn’t the only midfield signing. If he was to come in alongside someone like caicedo then I wouldn’t mind taking the risk.

10.) 05 Jan 2023 12:16:40
If it’s Rabiot or no one then Rabiot it is. The powers that be have known about our midfield issue for a long long time, like other posters I don’t understand how we can’t find a midfield player good enough at £30m. As you say we can’t afford the 3 on the list, I doubt we can afford 2, but I live in hope. We have to get top 4 so whatever makes that more likely.

11.) 05 Jan 2023 12:17:54
Ed25 ????.

12.) 05 Jan 2023 12:31:16
Adding Kone to Fabs in the summer would be cool. They'd take some licking.

13.) 05 Jan 2023 12:44:29
For me, Kone has all the attributes that Tchouameni and Caicedo have so it would make sense for us. It would immediately give us some pace and power in the middle and he could play in any of the midfield positions, whether we go 433 or a midfield two.

Plus, it would be nice to get a French buddy for Big Ibou :)

While I have no idea what the club intend to do, perhaps they intend to do the dance with Brighton throughout January to bring the Caicedo price down. My preference would be to move onto Kone in January and try to save the season but knowing us, we'll wait for the preferred option and write the current season off.

14.) 05 Jan 2023 12:53:56
Rabiot on a free Ed? , yes, mainly because we are desperate and he is real quality, he comes with potential problems, at the moment I believe he'd improve the starting 11. If you'd asked that question two years ago it would've been a firm no .

15.) 05 Jan 2023 12:56:33
Nunes is missing from this list Ed.

{Ed001's Note - by choice, he can't play for us this season as he has played for 2 teams already.}

16.) 05 Jan 2023 13:00:47
With Nunes looking like first one through the door, and Caicedo close, things are going to feel quite different by the end of this window.
Nunes was brilliant vs Villa.

17.) 05 Jan 2023 13:28:21
spaceman- I don't think anything is close yet. Certainly not for January.

18.) 05 Jan 2023 13:36:29
Ed, not sure about Rabiot, man. Good player and would add balance to the midfield as he is left footed and has goals in him. His ma is a real piece of work so not sure if anyone wants to deal with that.

{Ed001's Note - she can't be worse than a Scouse ma, let's be honest. I would rather deal with anyone else's ma than mine or any of her sisters!!}

19.) 05 Jan 2023 13:40:36
Nunes cannot play for any other team until the 23/ 24 season spaceman.

He will NOT be moving in this transfer window to us or any other club.

20.) 05 Jan 2023 13:42:05
McAllister would be another good option in my opinion.

21.) 05 Jan 2023 13:46:21
You will be disappointed spaceman when neither arrives in January.

22.) 05 Jan 2023 13:46:53
Spaceman where are you hearing that Caicedo is close mate?

23.) 05 Jan 2023 14:04:45
Ed1. Question for you if you’re about. Is Matheus Nunes having an agreement to sign for us in the summer an actual thing? Talented player. Also, with on you in the 3 midfielders that would transform our midfield (Caicedo, Bellingham and Enzo) . Interesting that you brought up Rabiot because I have watched him a fair few times this season including the World Cup and I had no idea how good he actually is. Impressed every time I have seen him play. Just know him more for his infamous mum.

{Ed001's Note - not that I am aware of, I have never heard of such a thing happening before and would make no sense for any party. We would have just signed him and loaned him out if the plan was to give him a year to acclimatise.

I always wanted to sign Rabiot before he moved to Italy, he is a truly great player on his day. Just a shame he has become known for having an overbearing mother rather than for his quality.}

24.) 05 Jan 2023 15:30:34
Technically, OMM, Caicedo is close is so much as he is as on Merseyside when Brighton pumped Everton for four the other night. So he was close to Anfield at that point. And that’s probably as close as he’ll get for the rest of the season.

25.) 05 Jan 2023 16:13:17
Nice one, Ed. That was funny. Unlike Rabiot too so we’ll see.

26.) 05 Jan 2023 17:15:45
Speaking of ma's we should probably steer well clear of Gio Reyna, the ultimate helicopter mom.

27.) 05 Jan 2023 18:56:05
Why don't we sign Rabiot and his mother. If she's that bad she could add a bit of steel to the midfield.
I'd love to see her take her rolling pin to the likes is Rodri, Silva and de Bruyne.
She might even whip Keita into shape.

Rigsby by all accounts if you sign Rabiot, you get his na as well. It’s baked into the deal, apparently. Yeah, don’t ask me why. It’s complicated, lol.

Ed’s what do you think of our formation at the moment with the players we have and the severe lack of legs and ability to close down quickly and press in groups like We used to. What would you think of 4-2-3-1 enabling us to press higher and squeeze the pitch with 2 holding midfielders so that Fabs isn’t so isolated? Maybe also help with Elliott and Carvalho in the number 10 role as right now like you have said Elliott has too much grass to cover and it’s clearly effecting his game. Could the current crop of midfielders sit in next to fabs if we don’t sign anyone this transfer window or do you think the change of formation would have an adverse effect on current player’s attributes? Something has to change.

Cam1

{Ed001's Note - formation is irrelevant if the tactics are the same as they are.}

Eds002 are there the right players at the right price currently in the market? If you wouldn’t mind digging out the crystal ball ?.

Cam1

{Ed002's Note - Yes, I think so. Amrabat is available at the right price and he should be the first choice for Liverpool. Musah may be available - another club will test the waters. McKinnie is available, but I am far from convined in the player. Elmas might be available but there is a complication. I am surprised no effort has been made for Houssem Aouar - very cheap as he is out of contract in the summer, a starter and still only 24.}

In your opinion Would you like to see him played there or would you prefer him to remain at RB?

Cam1

{Ed001's Note - stay at RB.}

FlyPelicanFly and Eds - I haven’t seen much of Kouadio Kone but he does look like a strong athletic all round midfielder. Does anyone know much about the lad and whether there is any interest from us or other clubs in him? Interesting to see where we end up in January and summer with the squad.

Cam1

{Ed002's Note - Manu Kouadio Kone (CM/DM/AM) Prior interest of Milan has gone. Newcastle did approach Borussia Muenchegladbach but they will resist a sale and try and agree a new deal. Watched by a number of Premier League sides including West Ham, Chelsea, Liverpool and Brighton. A wildcard maybe PSG. Way down the list for Chelsea but Vivell may push for him - which could spell the end for Loftus Cheek.}

Cam1

{Ed001's Note - the issue with Rabiot is his family not money. I think you have it right on who is likely to leave. That is also what I expect with regards to Henderson, to gradually be faded out of the first team.

Would everyone be happy with Rabiot? It would be a risk.}
