Always liked KK even though I was too young to see him as a player. Always like his team's style as a manager, especially the Newcastle days. Seemed like a genuinely good guy too, only watched his interview the other day saying how he was the most ordinary man to win the Ballon d'Or, so much humility from what I heard about him and clips I saw he was an absolute baller.

RIP KK!

God bless Kevin Keegan, my football hero. Ed025, if you wouldn't mind sharing your story about him again. I know you've posted it on here before, but it's a great story and I know you named your son after him. Very sad day

Just watched some clips of him as I wasn't old enough to see him play live. What a dynamic, hardworking, exciting player. Scored so many different types of goals, and lots of headers for a small player. Seems like great wing play back then to supply him and Toshack. He'll be sorely missed.

What a fantastic story, Billy!

KK was the first footballer I ever supported (a bit after his time with us), so, as a 5-6 year old, I supported Southampton and then Newcastle, all due to Keagan, and I did "love it" when he gave interviews as a manager!

Gone far too soon.

Ah that's a brilliant story, Billy. 😢

What a player, what a man, what a story.

A sad, sad day. It all happened so quick, the light of heaven to him.

20 Jul 2026 21:01:49
That is a quality story Ed025. Also a great reminder of why Liverpool vs Everton is the best rivalry on the planet. Imagine a Man United fan naming their kid after a Man City player. It just wouldn't happen.

Thank you for sharing that. I wish modern footballers were still that humble.

Ah, that's a magic story. And a story of simpler, better times. Really amazing.

So sad. I was too young to watch him play live (started watching properly in 86), but used to watch old VHS vids of him and Tosh.

He always came across as a gentleman.

Brilliant story.

It's a great story and shows the measure of the man. He knew that football had given him a chance, a Yorkshire lad, who without football could have ended up down the pit. Fans are the lifeblood of the game, so KK will have known that he owed a lot to the fans.

A grafter, a champion, an elite player but humble and respected. You can't dislike a man like that.

Keegan was my hero growing up and this is more than a loss.
Knew it was coming for some time and you can never prepare.
I have met him several times and I need some time to gather my thoughts and pay my respects.

Will be taking a break. I hope we win the league and CL. Best wishes for o Iraola and the the team

Always a red YNWA. TC

Kevin Keegan was my hero growing up too. A massive loss. Standing on the Kop as a kid watching KK was my first taste of LFC live. Such an icon for my generation. KK God bless.

My first football hero was gutted when he went to Hamburg.
A great player and man. RIP Mighty Mouse.

Really sad King Kev has left us. Never saw him play, but I knew a lot about him. Came off as a real footballer and genuinely nice guy.

RIP, King Kev. You will surely be missed.

I have a feeling we lose out on Barcola, we make a bid, it's accepted on second attempt, Arsenal come in and get the deal done. Even more horrible feeling we end up with Diomande, there's not a chance RBL decline that kind of money. Regardless of how rich they are.

Technically they are stratospheres apart and I can't see Diomande drastically improving technically which he needs to do, he's more of a Traore than a Mane.

20 Jul 2026 18:30:44
I thought your doom and gloom posts always go to the Discussions page?

Could you change your name to Eeyore, please?

18

20 Jul 2026 19:07:28
Zed, or maybe Droopy?

1

20 Jul 2026 19:07:33
Would be rude to Eeyore. He's a bit more positive than Bob.

2

20 Jul 2026 19:28:51
Droopy?! Has Mrs Zed been peddling gossip?!

4

20 Jul 2026 21:02:15
Oh for crying out loud, Bob. Can't you just smile?

0

20 Jul 2026 21:22:57
MKS, Smiling can be a lot tougher when all you have is doom and gloom to share with the outside world.

20 Jul 2026 23:14:14
Don't know Barcola at all obvs lol but I get the feels that he's a London type of guy.

I just went on the Arsenal rumours page to see if there were any links to them and Barcola or Rayan from any of their itk .I cannot believe how quiet the page is .which is probably just as well for the Ed's who are inundated here on Liverpool rumours

1

20 Jul 2026 19:19:24
Because they are all on the Argentina page swapping ideas...

11

20 Jul 2026 19:10:19
Which are the most busy sites out of interest here Eds?

Condolences to all. YNWA.

20 Jul 2026 18:47:05
KK was my first proper Liverpool hero with magical performances in the 74 Cup Final and Rome 77, of course. And who could forget the bike crash on Superstars? Proper hard Northerner, despite the hair. RIP SuperKev.

20 Jul 2026 19:10:03
Two-time European Player of the Year... Also, his honesty throughout his life as a manager, as to his capabilities and lack of ability at times, was refreshing and heartwarming. RIP Kev and thanks for being you.

As a young service engineer, I was called out to a call in North Wales, which was my patch, to repair a washing machine. Lovely white large bungalow. I knocked on the door and a nice lady with blonde hair opened it and invited me into the kitchen.

Well, blow me down, sitting at the table was Kevin. As a Liverpool fan, I was gob smacked, unable to speak. He even made me a cuppa tea. What a great couple. I remember it to this day. So sad. ynwa.

20 Jul 2026 17:42:07
RIP Mighty Mouse YNWA

20 Jul 2026 21:24:04
Mighty Mouse, indeed. RIP, King Kev.

20 Jul 2026 17:32:35
I used to get his autograph every home game. Standing outside the players' entrance after every game. What a lovely friendly man. He was my hero. Broke my heart when he left. I was at Wembley to watch him get sent off.

His song: Kevin Keagan walks on water nana nana nah na nan nan nah. One of the greats.

RIP KK
