I haven't fact checked this, but funny all the same!
Since Everton last won a trophy in 1995, every single club in the 92 club league system have either won a trophy, promotion, or a play off final. All have given their fans a winning moment. All except Everton
10 Oct 2026 11:19:57
Stupid statement, grouping promotion, play-off finals or even winning a Championship in with winning the likes of the PL title or FA Cup is ridiculous. I'd rather have won the Premiership once than get relegated and win the Championship 100 times over.
3
10 Oct 2026 11:47:11
Agree. What about all the clubs that have been relegated, including former champions, Blackburn and Leicester City.
0
10 Oct 2026 12:41:36
The point of the post is, every club's supporters have experienced the joy of success, be it a promotion, or whatever. Apart from Everton. Supporters joy of winning a league 2 promotion play-off, is every bit as special as winning the PL to the supporters involved.

10 Oct 2026 12:48:43
Thanks Rome, clearly chewy feels there's only teams supporting Premier League teams. It's a bit of banter lads chill out!
5
10 Oct 2026 12:55:07
Lighten up, Chewy.
5
10 Oct 2026 13:13:04
The point of the post is.. that it's obviously funny. Come on, lighten up lads..
2
10 Oct 2026 13:23:40
The lads put a post up saying he's not sure if true, but funny. people seem stressed out.
0
10 Oct 2026 14:40:16
But Everton haven't won the Premiership once, they've had nothing meaningful to celebrate since 1995, that's the whole point.
0
10 Oct 2026 14:58:22
🤣 Couldn't be more chill, you can share your opinions without worrying about my stresst levels lads! Like I did. The statement pointlessly groups incomparable achievements. I'd still rather have won the FA Cup in 95 than get relegated and promoted 10 times over. others may disagree, that's how opinions work.
Premier League/Old Div 1 = essentially the same thing in my book.
0
10 Oct 2026 15:27:23
Good trivia post avitohyes!
Might put that forward for one of the sport section questions in the "locals" quiz night!
Take no notice of Chewy - he's probably letting the tension of tomorrow's game get to him & disagrees with 99% of posters on here anyway.

10 Oct 2026 15:32:28
Not many clubs can compete with Everton's history.
Appreciate the banter but have to appreciate Everton's history too.
1
10 Oct 2026 15:37:52
I saw something related to this the other week, but it was simplified by just saying "since 1995 every club in the football league has had something to celebrate apart from Everton", which I thought was a bit unfair, because Everton have beaten Liverpool at least a couple of times since then, and that's like a trophy for them!
1
10 Oct 2026 16:26:50
Fully agree Ron, which is the core idea behind my post.
10 Oct 2026 09:05:23
Vs City, I'd want to see Koumas, Munoz, Wirtz and Szboszlai pressing from the front. Dom in the ten, Flo in the false 9.
We can hound City into submission.
4
10 Oct 2026 11:05:47
I don't think your proposed forward line would would hound anyone, Spanish. Have you forgot about Barcola?
2
10 Oct 2026 12:02:37
Barcola has done nothing to show he's built for this league yet and should be bedded in Klopp style. slowly.
3
10 Oct 2026 12:36:31
I reckon Iraola may disagree with you and Barcola starts tomorrow. We've been bedding in Wirtz for 15 months.
0
{Ed666's Note - Barcola has to start. What we lose in goal scoring threat with Isak and to a lesser degree with Cody we have to make up for in pace & guile. Barcola is a tremendous presser and he seems like a nice guy I’d be made up if he was MOM and scored a couple of goals.
7
10 Oct 2026 13:30:19
Good to hear from you FSW it's been a long time!
1
10 Oct 2026 13:34:50
When did Koumas do his bedding in to the PL to earn his start?
0
10 Oct 2026 13:41:25
Koumas has the infectious energy that we have been missing at times.
Honestly, Darwin brought more to this side than Isak has so far - in my humble opinion, and Koumas has some of that about him. He may not score but he allows others space through his hard work.
I imagine everyone here is right though and that Barcola will start, with Wirtz up top and Munoz on the right.
The way Klopp bedded players in was sensible. No other league is anything like this one.
0
10 Oct 2026 14:00:10
FYI see Barcola's recent comments -
"The big difference is that Ligue 1 is very physical. There are lots of strong players who use their physicality.
"But here, I would say it's more physical in terms of the running you have to do. The games are end-to-end. I find it is less tactical than it is in Ligue 1.
"It's a lot of running. That's why in my first few matches, I've been getting cramps. It's all because the intensity is so high.
0
10 Oct 2026 14:04:11
Koumas has played 22 mins of PL football this season. Yes he's had energy but you'd expect any player who plays 4% of the season to look energetic.
As far as Darwin goes it shows everyone sees the game differently.
0
10 Oct 2026 14:26:39
For gawd sake, Nunez is still getting a mention.
2
10 Oct 2026 15:36:11
Mo Salah name-checked Darwin as being an important part of his output, Rome. That is the point.
You can't have a team of Galacticos, at least not in the Prem, in my opinion.
Koumas is not afraid of the dirty work, and I believe that we need to show more grit.
0
10 Oct 2026 16:15:50
I don't want a team of Galacticos, Spanish. I've spent the last 15 months slagging off Wirtz. I obviously respect what Salah said about Nunez. Me, as a supporter, I thought he was a headless chicken, who never understood offside. No one wants him now, which says it all.
Regards to Koumas, I hope, if he plays, he's MOTM. However, I want to see more from someone who plays down the middle, him just doing the dirty work. My expectations maybe higher than yours, Spanish.
10 Oct 2026 04:23:58
Just wanted to wish our right and honorable freind Ed025 good luck with hearing Everton is going up for ale. We hope you get a solid ownership in this time mate. It's what's best for the league and city. All the best, YNWA, KCD.
1
{Ed025's Note - cheers KCD. It’s always one step forward two steps back with us mate. But we live in hope..
2
10 Oct 2026 09:14:35
One or two pints should be enough 😀.
2
10 Oct 2026 10:15:36
The Bitters going up for ale.
4
10 Oct 2026 14:43:28
Everton bitter ale sounds fantastic.
09 Oct 2026 08:37:51
Everton for sale don't sound to promising ed025 does it. Great club but some poor owners through the years.
1
{Ed025's Note - we have had some shockers over the years Coul. We just have to hope we get the right one next time mate. Being an evertonian has never been easy..
09 Oct 2026 21:56:31
We will lose on Sunday 100%. If we were the accused and every fan in the country was against us, what would you all think we should do? We would be right up for this game, and so will the City players. They are not top of the league for nothing. I just cannot see us getting a positive result.
3
09 Oct 2026 22:12:42
KBL to lead the team talk on Sunday, sign him up!
14
09 Oct 2026 22:27:52
That's the spirit, roll over before a ball has been kicked.
13
09 Oct 2026 22:30:50
we're more likely to have lost anyways mate. We're not exactly a polished machine.
4
09 Oct 2026 22:39:40
Is there just a dumb cloud over Manchester that renders them all immune to seeing reality or something? Those players will surely know they're playing for nothing.
2
09 Oct 2026 22:41:28
What is all this negativity about? Drive on boys! Don't be bet before you've laced your boots!
3
09 Oct 2026 23:25:59
KBL has a point though. Everyone just thinks we're going to be psyched up to the eyeballs and City will be lambs to the slaughter. I always expect us to win at Anfield, especially on European night-like days as Sunday will be.
But I will say though that if City turn up, pull together and manage to get a result after what they did at Old Trafford I'll give them their dues they'll be looking like a proper side.
2
09 Oct 2026 23:40:02
A proper side? Seriously FM? Built on what foundation?
4
09 Oct 2026 23:53:12
Shanks I understand peoples frustrations. This is 11 blokes on a pitch to me that we have to get past. i said in an earlier post the time for me to get annoyed about such things would have been 5, 6, 7 years ago not now. The time is gone for me. Put it this way if we win on Sunday the thought that we beat the cheats and landed a blow for football won't even cross my mind.
All I care about is LFC and I will be delighted with a great 3 points that would actually put us in a great position. Am I meant to hate the likes of Anderson, O'reilly and Bouaddi who were only children while most of this cheating was happening?
4
{Ed666's Note - If we get 3 points in Sunday I honestly think it would rank as high as some of klopp’s wins against City. They are better than us, we have our main striker out, one of the most consistent performers this season out (Gakpo) and I honestly don’t think we have a prayer. I think a draw is the best we can achieve and that’s if we play well. But what we do have on our side is a raucous anfield atmosphere and we all know how the city galvanizes if we feel there’s an injustice and above all we have hope..I truly hope I’m eating humble pie on Sunday night I really do. Yes I’m
A bed wetter!!!
6
10 Oct 2026 01:43:05
"especially on European night-like days as Sunday will be" never played on a weekend and far from like so.
0
10 Oct 2026 01:52:13
Ed0666 - Worse teams than us have beaten this City team - Iraola beat even stronger City teams with worse players. I think this game is coming slightly too early for us and Iraola, but we have more than a chance of getting a result.
2
{Ed666's Note - anything can happen but I truly don’t think we will win mate. I’ve been wrong before and I hope I am again.
1
10 Oct 2026 09:28:31
Let's hope you don't go the game ay.
0
10 Oct 2026 09:48:43
Actually really looking forward to this game. Put aside all the side show stuff this game will give us a real indication of where the club is on a PL competitive stand to date.
We're unbeaten so far but apart from Bournemouth the fixture list has been pretty kind to date with 3 of the teams finishing bottom half last season and the other a newly promoted team.
This will be the biggest test to date this season and an opportunity for the players to lay their marker in the sand.
09 Oct 2026 20:53:56
Just watched the Thiago and Andoni interview. Wow, Thiago lives and breathes LFC and I think he would be such a valuable asset to have on board. He "gets us" and understands LFC and his relationship with Andoni is something to behold. Get it sorted Julian!
8
09 Oct 2026 22:10:16
I agree Cornishman. Thiago is a very bright man who knows more than most about football and is clearly close to Iraola. I think he would be a wonderful link between the academy and first team mentoring the many very talented players we have brought to the club in the last 12/24 months.
I would love to see him on the bench in a coaching role as well.
3
09 Oct 2026 22:14:35
Good watch, hopefully a glimpse of a future working relationship between these two. Would love to see Thiago on staff, incredibly intelligent footballer, would bring a wealth of invaluable knowledge.
2
10 Oct 2026 10:20:58
He could still probably do a job in our midfield.
09 Oct 2026 18:12:13
I'm not sure City are quite ready for the "welcome" they are going to get on Sunday.
Hell will reign down upon them.
The atmosphere is going to be electric.
6
09 Oct 2026 19:30:57
Oh dear bricks at the bus window again is it? This is getting a bit daft now.
3
09 Oct 2026 19:44:28
AAR91, put your tiara away will you.
10
09 Oct 2026 21:07:22
Really? You don't think throwing bricks at a bus is moronic?
City should be expelled from the PL and by the FA, they should start again in non-league football. Their owners should be compelled to sell the club and it's assets and be banned 'sine dies' from owning a football club.
The players on the coach - were any of them actually play if for the club before, and up to, the end of the 2018? They are employees of the club and have no say or part to play in the operational management of the club.
Violence is pathetic, violence against innocent employees (or anyone actually) is criminal. Thinking someone is weak for not wanting to commit acts of indiscriminate violence is remarkable and shameful. Just my opinion.
Enjoy the day, let them know what we think of them, beat them on the pitch, but put the bricks and bottles down, we are better than that and better than them.
14
09 Oct 2026 21:23:36
Surely you weren't encouraging throwing bricks at the City bus, Chewy. I don't believe you would be in favour of that. Would you?
4
09 Oct 2026 21:42:27
It's probably pointless saying it as I'm sure there will be some mindless violence and vandalism.
Attacking their bus doesn't throw them off their game, it just gives them something to galvanise their team spirit.
Support our players, give them your energy, fire them up.
8
09 Oct 2026 22:08:35
A Manchester United supporter bending over for Manchester City. The game has gone.
2
09 Oct 2026 22:13:56
Win with class. Just as important as winning. Always think what Jurgen would say.
1
09 Oct 2026 22:15:28
Our job as fans is to get behind our team and our club. This weekend we also have to represent the best of English football and call out the crooks that run City. No attack on fellow fans or other teams players.
It's not the fans fault that their club is run by cheats. It's not the players fault either even if they benefit from winning by cheating.
3
09 Oct 2026 22:32:28
Potential powder keg that could spill over to abusing the players.
Preparing for anything, but hopeful of a strong and united voice from the Kop on behalf of football fans.
2
09 Oct 2026 23:20:57
Maybe it'll be only 114 bricks.
4
09 Oct 2026 23:46:52
I don't see anybody talking about throwing bricks and I certainly amn't condoning it, let me make that crystal clear, as far as I can tell, Bekind is talking about the atmosphere, if he is talking about throwing bricks he should be banned, only Vik is allowed to insight that level of hatred!
1
10 Oct 2026 00:25:22
I always enjoy reading posts that end up with a joke about inciting hatred.
1
10 Oct 2026 10:30:31
The fans can do their job, legitimately, I hope, but it'll be down to the players and coaching staff, ultimately.
I reckon a lot of the City* team will be prepared for the hellish reception tomorrow and I think they are a better side than us, at the moment.
1
10 Oct 2026 13:30:03
Football is a game. A game. It's Sports Entertainment. And only that, no matter how strongly or weakly you feel about it. What's senseless violence got to do with this? Absolutely nothing and achieves nothing.
1
10 Oct 2026 15:26:33
Facetious remark about 114 bricks aside, we don't need to resort to violence as it's uncalled for. A cauldron of noise and hostility, that's what they deserve. Let them know they're cheats, let them know the contempt that they're held in. The City players & supporters vicariously gained because of the cheating so they deserve all the jeers and verbal abuse coming their way.
09 Oct 2026 15:23:52
Sunday is a game where 99.99% of fans that love the game will want a Liverpool win. That does not happen very often at all!
City are cheats, its now proven and their punishment needs to be extreme. They have built what they have on lies and cheating. The atmosphere sunday will be volatile to say the least. There cannot be a single second of let up in the noise, the booing and the chanting.
Sadly though I feel City will win. Isak and Gakpo both out and injured is not good news. Leaves us a little short on options. The city players will thrive in the hate I think, and if they score they will definitely celebrate with some kind of raining money celebration.
5
09 Oct 2026 16:04:26
The announcement that City had been cooking the books was hardly a surprise.
Teams and fans have known for years and it actually shows how awful the Fa or Premier League are that it took a whistle blower to alert them to it that they had falsified up to 900 million.
The powers have be have either been sat there like Stevie wonder or they were very much apart of it and allowing it.
Same as clubs who didn't seem to mind when city were paying over inflated prices for their players.
Hopefully Liverpool do their talking on the pitch on Sunday but let's not kid ourselves into thinking this isn't our hardest game of the season to date.
10
09 Oct 2026 16:23:11
Let's not underestimate our team. Yes they are not the Klopp era but we are Liverpool and we are unbeaten. We've produced big results in tough circumstances before. Our crowd will be loud and hopefully carry us to victory. Ynwa!
3
09 Oct 2026 16:44:57
The Refs in England need investigating
Bias & Corrupt.
9
09 Oct 2026 17:11:08
Think the refs will favour city's opponents more often now so to not look like they on the take too.
3
09 Oct 2026 17:59:10
I've always been of that opinion JK, corruption knows no bounds and money talks. I'm no accountant, but I just can't fathom how somebody could get away with inflating income by nearly a billion pounds and get away with it for 10 years when there's supposed to be stringent scrutiny over accounting. I mean, either the League's version of APT checks consists of a WhatsApp conversation along the lines of:
PL: Are you lads doing everything by the books? MC: Yes
PL: You sure? MC: Absolutely."
.or they've been greased up more times than Boy George's back passage.
2
09 Oct 2026 18:39:47
It's our hardest game by a mile, JK. All that matters is 3 pts. No good being a fantastic atmosphere if we don't win.
5
09 Oct 2026 19:14:37
Chewy agree mate. It always made me laugh when City had a squad of 2 top class world renowned players for every position and their wage bill was still supposedly less than other clubs who didn't even have 1 top class player for every position 🤣.
4
09 Oct 2026 19:58:56
I'm no financial expert but I think to be fair if they are only checking back statements of clubs its quite easy to get away with as it would only show who's paid the money in, all they had to do would be to pass the money to the sponsor for the sponser to then pay the full amount.
It would need a change in how they check sponsorship deals in the future.
I did find it funny that in there defense they have admitted their guilt though, by saying the extra money come from from a different group to the one being suggested which is still against the rules. There only hope is getting the hacked emails thrown out. Could be wrong but I believe that can only happen if the Premier League was behind the hack.
Also interesting to see what happens with Etihad and their plans to go public as they would have to disclose all their finances which would then prove for sure of the cheating and would leave them open to a lot more problems worldwide due to what they told the USA.
One thing I find strange all this talk of city being stripped of tittles no one seemed to mention the same for chelsea's cheating which to me was equally as bad.
2
10 Oct 2026 15:30:37
Difference is Arleseyred, is that Chelsea self reported and handed over thousands of pages of evidence against them and admitted liability straight away. Whereas City have obfuscated, lied and attempted to use legal proceedings to slow and stop the investigation at every juncture, they refused to hand over evidence and lied throughout. That's the difference.
0
10 Oct 2026 16:30:50
I understand that Viktor but doesn't change the fact they cheated also, how many of those players signed may have went elsewhere if not for illegal payments. To me the titles are also tainted same way as City's.
Allowing the titles to remain is basically saying its okay to cheat, that should have been and should always be 1 punishment no matter what the circumstances if coopersting or self reporting thats carried out I have no issue with the other punishments being suspended although it should have been more extreme punishment in chelseas case, even if only suspended still just to set an example for future references.
If you think of what city have done and put new owners in and they self reported like chelsea did I'm sure there would be more of an outrage if they only really got a 10 million fine.
Everton have been the hardest hit through breaching the rules then anybody and even got Burnley suing them for something which in reality was the leagues fault for not tacking action sooner then they did. No one can honestly say Everton benefitted more through their case then chelsea did yet Everton have been done 3 times for the 1 offences. Chelsea over 70. No logic to that regardless of chelsea self reporting.
Out of principle alone more should have been done, and more made out of it
09 Oct 2026 14:36:57
Iraola has confirmed Isak and Gakpo are ruled out for the game on Sunday. What do people think the front line will look like and particularly who will play centre forward?
Barcola seems first choice with his experience, at the same time, I can't help think that Koumas has that relentless work rate that would be ideal to pile the extra pressure on City's back line, given the situation that could prove very effective. Don't actually see him starting but I do hope he gets minutes, could be huge for the kid.
Thoughts?
5
09 Oct 2026 14:40:41
Koumas all day long. He is our new Crazy horse/Darwin engine.
Wirtz false 9. Dom in the 10.
Munoz as the other forward.
8
09 Oct 2026 14:45:06
Wirtz could fill the void as a false 9 and Szoboszlai could play behind him. This would leave Gravenberch and Nyoni to partner Macca.
3
09 Oct 2026 14:51:03
Barcola-Wirtz-Munoz (Bring on Rio & Koumas if its not working)
3
09 Oct 2026 14:51:41
Wirtz in the false number 9 with Barcola and Munoz on the wings.
Nyoni, Dom and Mac.
2
09 Oct 2026 14:58:52
Koumas through the middle. Imagine the already pumped up crowd with him doing his best Duracell bunny impression. Barcola left Dom right. Smother them.
6
09 Oct 2026 15:13:37
I can see Wirtz playing as the centre forward which would totally contradict the calls that he needs runners ahead of him when playing 10
Koumas might press a lot but he's not really a goal threat as proven with 4 goals in 40 championship games last season.
Whichever 3 from Barcola, Munoz, Wirtz, Rio, Chiesa or Koumas that AI goes with they currently have 1 goal between them for this season.
2
09 Oct 2026 15:21:14
If Koumas is the backup no9, then put him in. Barcola on the left and Munoz on the right. Wirtz, Dom and Macca in midfield. Don't think we need to rearrange everything.
5
09 Oct 2026 15:55:04
Rush, Dalglish up front. Terry Mac and Steve Heighway on the flanks. Ian St John always warm and ready to come on.
Tommy Smith waiting in the tunnel for half and full time.
6
10 Oct 2026 01:48:53
Barcola at CF, Wirtz on the left, Dom in the middle and Rio or Munoz on the right with Trey and Macca behind them.
0
{Ed666's Note - I wonder if Will Wright gets a place on the bench?
1
10 Oct 2026 09:53:49
The limited highlights I've seen gives the impression that he is useful - puts himself about, finds a yard of space and knows where the goal is. I wouldn't be surprised if he's on the bench.
