According to Capology, Alisson signed his deal in 2021 until 2027. I take it the further one year extension keeps him with us until 2028.

Hello ed1 hope u well. Now that ali has signed for a futher year do u expect mamar to be moved on? I would presume ali didn't extend for another year unless he was told he be still no.1.i can't see mamar staying another season as no.2. With jaros getting serious injury I don't think he be available for long time so that would leave us looking for a keeper.
I've seen links to lens goalkeeper, I not sure if anything in that.
I know u don't rate mamar from when we originally signed him, I wouldn't mind him getting rattle at it personally but I haven't seen an awful lot of him. when he has played this season in general he hasn't been great but then who has.
{Ed001's Note - he was bought to make a profit on, but not sure there is a profit to be made, so we might be stuck with him. I just don't see a keeper anywhere near good enough in him. He has yet to even produce a half decent performance for us.}
15 Mar 2026 10:06:41
Ed001 hopefully he has a good World Cup and we get a bit of World Cup fever and we can move him on then.
One good thing in our favour Ed is he might not be great but then you see clubs like Chelsea spurs and Newcastle and they all have pretty awful Keepers.
{Ed001's Note - quality of players in general around the world has dipped to an all-time low imo.}
15 Mar 2026 10:17:15
Thanks for the response. Couldn't see us making a profit either. I think we bought him for £30m, if I remember correctly. Although, as Grino says, a good World Cup for him, u never know.

A very important game today.
Here is my battle cry -
We will get into top4 based on the Villa result. We need to win today whatever be the performance.
I think us fans have to adjust our expectations to that. At this stage just win no matter the performance and hold to that.
We have to be in top4 and win these next 7-8 games out of 9.
Spurs are at their lowest low, we have to be professional and just keep them out of the game.
If we can't get the result today I won't blame the manager at all (this one is on players, even if they have given up on manager you cannot loose to Tottenham given their rot and that too at Anfield, Spurs are mentally done and if we loose that shows our players are just as weak if not weaker).
20 points is very doable and that should be the minimum aim now.
City not doing great either so FA Cup finals would be a nice bonus.
I think players - Salah VVD Macca (especially) should get their act together now.
Lead the team. It's almost a miracle that we can still finish top4, with a FA Cup and CL after this absolute garbage season.
Play for the shirt now. It's just 15 games. All we ask is for 15 games just show up, we don't even ask for a performance. Just dig deep and win these damn games.
Just give us something. Something to cherish. Great players dig deep when going is tough. We have two of the greatest players to ever grace the Premier League. All we ask is one more time, just one more time, hit that peak. 15 games of greatness.
Slot if you read this and I hoping this was your gran plan all along, I think it's high time to let loose and show the football we know you can get out of this team. Let them press let them play.
You get us that top4, CL and cup. That probably would be the nicest **** you morons you could give to the fans. Go have that last laugh at our behests.
15 Mar 2026 07:40:47
Tbh, right now I'd just take 5th and tbh that's the most we will get out of this season imo.
15 Mar 2026 08:37:43
I think it's gonna be a good game to watch today from a spectacle point of view. Gonna be extremely open, with lots of goals.
I think I've predicted a 6-2 & 6-0 this week. I'm gonna go one better and go 6-3.
15 Mar 2026 09:25:37
You watching the tennis, JK?
15 Mar 2026 09:44:09
Most teams around us are trying their hardest to give Liverpool top 4. You can't ask for much more than that.
15 Mar 2026 00:05:09
Am I dreaming or have I just seen the Chelsea players playing ring a ring a roses with the ref. 🤔🤔
15 Mar 2026 05:25:02
That was the strangest thing to have been witnessed this season.
Does anyone know why it was even done?
Reckon it was just Chelsea... arrogant footballers *taking the piss* before a match.
15 Mar 2026 08:49:08
According to their manager, they wanted to respect the ball and the ref ended up in it. 🤔
15 Mar 2026 09:21:40
Chelsea manager complaining that the ref was there and got involved is hilarious. The poor man got converged on by a group of wasters. Imagine the leadership group wanted to huddle over the ball to show it respect, like the ball is some sort of symbolic idol. Honestly, I would be mortified if I was a fan watching that and then dropping points.
15 Mar 2026 09:51:09
Memmo to Rosenior: It is not up to the ref to move from where he is supposed to be during the pre-kickoff process. Nothing stopped his team from huddling in their half, you know, like every team on the planet does, perhaps? But no, cos clearly that's too hard.
That was one of the dumbest and strangest things I have ever seen happen in a pre-kickoff process.
The Chelsea manager needs to be ashamed of himself defending that mess.
And the pen shout? Yeah, the guy wants a pen when his own player stamped on the oppo's player. Pathetic. What an amateur.
14 Mar 2026 21:54:28
I'll have to not look at anything football related from March to possibly September now that Arsenal pretty much won the league
And that irritating arrogant POTtrash will go on and on with his philosophies and gimmicks he comes out with
Not bad for over a billion spending to reach the top spot
Then you will get the Klopp vs Arteta questions and memes
God help social media if they win all four comps.
14 Mar 2026 23:25:53
I can't stand them either, but I'm becoming resigned to letting them have their 15 minutes of fame.
I'm more looking at the bottom of the table now, and hoping Spurs go down. I live in North London, and I'm surrounded by Spurs fans who, I have to say, are the worst fans on the planet.
Most won't even watch the games now, they have completely checked out. Some are even saying they hope they go down because it will serve the owners right.
I've never known a group of fans who hate their own team so much.
This website is a bit of a microcosm of the way all Spurs fans are. They'd rather whinge and moan about the team and boo them off the pitch than actually try to help by supporting them. It does remind me of some posters on here.
14 Mar 2026 23:26:05
Sticks and stones and all that, mate. We all know who the better manager is, and the style of footy we played to win our trophies...
14 Mar 2026 23:40:07
Arteta may just become the next Slot then, after winning this PL this season.
15 Mar 2026 00:23:06
Hopefully, there's another style shift in the league and he's stuck with a squad of rugby players.
15 Mar 2026 00:07:03
Varry, the only moaning people do is about Slot and rightly so. You and certain posters are digging deep to protect him which is fine, but it doesn't disguise anything.
15 Mar 2026 08:30:39
4 of my mates are Spurs fans and they're all pretty good lads. At no stage do I ever look at them and believe I'm part of the greatest fans in the world and they are beneath me.
Unfortunately, some Liverpool fans even look at other Liverpool fans and think and believe that.
15 Mar 2026 09:16:52
To be fair, the amount of pain Spurs fans have had to endure is quite extraordinary, I mean, there's an entire adjective widely used by all football fans to refer to their club, I'd forgive them for having some kind of complex as a result.
Most of my friends are Arsenal fans, and the rest are Liverpool fans. Interestingly, all of the Arsenal fans got on board during the Wenger years (they are all 30-ish years old), and fell in love with the style of play with Bergkamp, Vieira, Overmars, Pires, Henry etc.
Now they defend Arteta to the hilt, say he's a bit of a genius, and love the Stoke City tactics, saying stylish football just doesn't work in the modern world, etc. I find it all to be kind of bizarre. Of course they can't be taken as being representative of Arsenal fans at large, but I just find it odd that they fell for a club because of a certain style, and have become so accepting, even enthusiastic, about a style that is pretty much the polar opposite, even though it has yet (for the time being) failed to yield results.
15 Mar 2026 09:38:53
Wenger's Arsenal were more often than not a joy to watch. I've never watched a full Arteta Arsenal game outside of playing Liverpool.
It's like Yin and Yang. Just hope this current Slot philosophy of playing football doesn't take us down the same path.
15 Mar 2026 10:00:07
What pains me the most is that we are gonna lose our title to this specific Arsenal team w/o putting up anything resembling a fight. Not even close. A team this dire is who we are gonna lose to after smoking one of the best teams ever built in Europe to break our title drought and win no. 19? Really? Sorry, that, to me, is absolutely criminal.
I can take an L cos I understand you cannot win all the time, and sometimes teams are better than you, play and perform better than you. What I, however, will never accept is when my team did nothing anywhere near close to putting up an honest fight. Not in a million years.
To me, that will always be on Slot for this season, end of.
15 Mar 2026 10:22:17
Yeah, agree with that, Oli. Not putting up any resemblance of a fight all season is the killer for me. As u say, u can't win all the time, and u can't play well all the time, but u should fight all the time.
If Liverpool are beat it happens, but go down swinging.
14 Mar 2026 18:57:49
I see Alisson has extended his contract. Brilliant news. He has been nothing short of incredible for us. He is still one of the best. Even if he has dropped a level of late, he is still that good.
14 Mar 2026 19:32:52
We triggered a contract extension option for a year.
14 Mar 2026 20:44:12
Yeah it's cool and I feel like it's the obvious scenario that is best for him and us.
14 Mar 2026 21:07:18
Good work by Richard Hughes.
14 Mar 2026 21:44:24
The only time I want to hear Richard Hughes and the word good in a sentence is when it's followed by the word riddance
15 Mar 2026 00:09:01
One of the few positives of this season is this news. If Hughes is responsible then credit to him on this occasion.
14 Mar 2026 18:47:54
Hi Ed01, if we sign alonso, will he be willing to stay with us for long like klopp did? He has a failed stint with real madrid so hope he will stick with us
Klopp won 1 league, slot too. Feels we should win more leagues since city, Arsenal will not be 100 points a season for next 3 to 5 years.
Your thoughts please.
{Ed001's Note - I have no idea.}
14 Mar 2026 20:54:32
I don't see how anyone could possibly answer that question.
14 Mar 2026 21:47:11
He's never going back to RM, so it's us and Bayern, and would he go there after his previous job?
14 Mar 2026 22:01:15
Not sure even Klopp knew he would be with us as long as he did the day he signed for us.
14 Mar 2026 16:16:35
Looking at the weekend's fixtures and obviously hoping that Newcastle can get something at Chelsea, preferably 3 points.
The Utd, Villa game is a weird one for me as although I don’t want Utd to win on any occasion I’d actually favour a win for them tomorrow as it drags Villa down with us (if we win, we’ll go above them?)
For me Villa are the ones at real risk on missing out on CL qualification through the league and they may well feel that Europa Cup glory brings them a much wanted major trophy and CL qualification?
Also if Utd get CL qualification, I think they might stick with Carrick, which will be disastrous for them moving forward.
14 Mar 2026 18:46:23
After this week's results in the CL, I think there may be a risk we don't get that extra spot. So 4th is crucial. We can't hope that 5th will be enough.
14 Mar 2026 20:29:32
The problem is, Villa have a much easier run in the last 8 games than we do. They play 4 of the bottom 5. Pretty sure we're the only team in their last 8 fixtures they haven't beaten this season. Their only 2 really tough games (on paper) will be us and City, which are their final 2, so it could go right to the wire. With a bit of luck, their lack of form will continue and relieve us of a little pressure. Chelsea have a similarly difficult final 8 to us, but some very patchy form of late too.
Agreed. I'd be shocked if City, Chelsea, Newcastle and Spurs didn't get knocked out. So, if we win, that could leave us with only 2 English clubs in the competition, and put a hopeful 5th place finish completely out of the question.
4th is a must. Luckily for us, Villa and Chelsea are off the pace at the moment. It won't be easy, but it's absolutely doable. Hopefully the lads can muster up a string of quality performances for the home stretch.
14 Mar 2026 20:44:01
Chewy, mate. Chelsea and Villa are not the only ones in a poor run of form!
Clutching at straws, mate. I hope you're right tho.
YNWA.
14 Mar 2026 20:57:55
Playing 4 of the bottom 5 is a bad thing in the run-in. They are fighting for their lives. You want to play teams who have nothing to play for, not teams who are fighting for European places, and definitely not teams who are fighting relegation.
15 Mar 2026 00:42:08
Isn't the PL already top by a number of points? Assuming Arsenal knock out BL, then Munich are the only German team left, no? Spain will definitely get a spot, but surely the Premier League will get one ahead of Germany (not sure there are many other contenders).
Also think we will beat Gala. And fancy Villa and Palace to go all the way in their comps.
15 Mar 2026 04:58:49
Chrisymate, Oh, I'm well aware, but we're stuck with Slopball at the moment, and we can't afford to miss out on that CL revenue, so trying to stay (as) positive (as I can).
Varry, I know what you mean, mate, but I'd still rather play the bottom 4 over the top 4. There's a reason they're fighting relegation.
funky061, Spain and Germany are both on 18, England on 22.
Yes, if Arsenal do the business against Leverkusen, we get the extra spot. If not, there's a small chance Germany could take it, but I think it would take something incredible, like Bayern would have to win every game and Leverkusen would have to make the semis, or something like that. Don't quote me on it, so yeah, it is highly unlikely that Germany would take it.
