Hi Eds,

Is there any updates on the fitness/ availability of the team for Saturday? Kieta aside, will we be at full strength?

johnzandt

{Ed001's Note - even Keita has a chance.}

1.) 27 May 2019 13:28:52
Hey Ed001, that's great to hear. Thanks for the Prompt reply. Have a good one.

{Ed001's Note - welcome mate.}

2.) 27 May 2019 15:21:00
Ed001 - what chance do you give us for the final?

{Ed001's Note - ?}

3.) 27 May 2019 17:46:22
No point risking Keita, I’m sure one of gini or Milner will be on the bench plus ox probably. Even shaqiri if we need a goal. Keita has struggled with little niggles all season, and whilst I’d love for him to be involved, it’s too risky to even bring him on.

4.) 27 May 2019 20:05:17
Are you a doctor/ physio Firmane? I'm assuming you work for the club do you?

5.) 27 May 2019 22:19:58
Risky? If he gets a niggle he can play through it and then rest it on the beach in the Maldives drinking Mai Tais!
All hands to the pump for this game.

6.) 27 May 2019 23:17:50
I’m sorry for having an opinion on this site instanbul! Firstly, my thinking was if he had to come off again, we’d be down a sub. Secondly, the last niggle he got he couldn’t play on, nothing to do with beaches or what not, we need players who are 100% on the pitch. If spurs want to play Kane at 75% fine, but we have Gini Milner hendo Fabinho all pushing to start, with ox and shaqiri capable off the bench if needed.

Nothing against Keita one bit, he played great at the end of the season, but two weeks ago he couldn’t walk on it. why risk it?

7.) 28 May 2019 09:54:03
Sorry Firmane mate I meant no offence. Purely that if he’s on the bench it means that he’s been passed fit by the medical staff so if he’s the best man to come on then we should use him. No point being cautious in the last and biggest game of the season.
Even if he was 100% fit I wouldn’t see him starting this game. I don’t think Klopp trusts him completely defensively as much as say Hendo, Wiji or Milner.

8.) 28 May 2019 12:03:33
I second beckers post firmane, my reply was rather abrupt and I apologise for that. If he's fit and available it would be klopps decision wouldn't it.

Hi Eds,

Is it true that Southampton are interested Enrique? If so, could we use that as a carrot for making a bid for Shaw as well or would he be used in the Lallana deal. If we went after Shaw, in your opinion, would we hold the advantage over Utd?

johnzandt

{Ed002's Note - Shaw doesn't figure in any of this.}

Hi Eds,

Can you give us some idea of which players or positions we are actively looking at in January.

johnzandt

{Ed001's Note - full backs, wingers and central midfield.}

1.) 30 Dec 2013 16:27:16
Montoya/Bertrand, Salah and Rackitic then

2.) Both attacking and defensive or what type of midfielder ed

{Ed001's Note - seems to be a creative player, such as Rakitic, we are hunting for the midfield.}

3.) Thanks oddly I was think defensive midfielder but i'm happy

4.) Agyemang-Badu, Rakitic, Salah and Montoya

Ed001, thanks for all the good work. With all the rumours (tabloid fodder) going round about what we'll be spending in the summer, can you give us an idea what the club realistically has, and can spend?

johnzandt

{Ed001's Note - no, it does not work like that.}

1.) 24 May 2017 08:35:34
As Long as we get the right players for the right positions who cares about the price?

for example. Courts was cheap, Mane was expensive and both are KEY players.

Morning Ed's,

Any chance you could give us a breakdown on how the hell we ended up paying the highest agents fee's this year? I know you don't like talking about money, but go on, go on, go on, go on.

johnzandt

{Ed002's Note - Why is this a shock? I have explained over and over that the club is a financial disaster zone. In February people will start getting more of an understanding about signing on and other fees paid - in February 2017 the cost of changing manager will be known - and a very, very significant signing on fee paid to one particular player will be made public. In the big scheme of things the club are relying on future television payments which will increase in 2017.}

1.) 01 Dec 2015 16:23:34
how dyou apply to become an footballers agent? tried job seekers Nothing! :)

2.) 01 Dec 2015 16:37:48
Will that particular player be Mr. Milner by any chance? It annoys me when fans think we got the deal of the century for him because he was 'free'.

3.) 01 Dec 2015 19:31:50
allyb8696, you have to pass some fa exam and get insurance, then you can get a licence.

4.) 01 Dec 2015 20:30:43
Seen as we pay the highest agent fees. Wouldn't that make agents want their players to play for Liverpool?
Shane we don't aim for the top players then.

{Ed002's Note - There are certain deals that have happened in recent years that has seen Liverpool screwed by agents (and third party intermediaries - and that is crucial to this). There are three particular deals where I know that Liverpool were seriously screwed because they are so naïve. I suspect that there may be others as well. Even before the current owners, for a number of years the club has not done itself well in the areas of transfer dealings, maintaining relationships with senior management at other clubs and in the negotiation process. It puts them somewhat on a back foot and it is an area that still could be improved. They are far from the only club in this situation but they are certainly the most significant of English sides that fall under this category. I have mentioned before that the club has had an ongoing PR problem and SB was recruited to fix that after the complete disaster of FSG's choice of Jen Chang - and her job has been made (recently) far from easy by the idiot that is Steve Gerrard and his book.}

Hi Eds, hope you're having a good day. If the reports are true and we've/are in the process of signing a kit deal with New Balance worth £300 million over six years; How much pressure will this take of us in regards to FFP?

johnzandt

{Ed002's Note - In terms of FFP it makes no difference. In terms of revenue it is a good deal.}

1.) Ed2 is it £300m over 6 years ? That obviously is including bonuses?
Thanks

{Ed002's Note - They have not declared how much the contract is worth.}

30 Aug 2014 10:06:01
Eds, what's your opinions of Agger leaving? The stats show that defensively, we're better when he plays. Is it mainly down to injuries that he's been moved on or does Rogers genuinely not fancy him?

johnzandt

{Ed002's Note - It has been clear fo0r a long time that the club would move him on and that he wanted to leave. This has been dealt with at length.}

Hi Eds,

What's the situation with Ryan McLaughlin. He's put in some stellar performances for us in the youth teams and I was hoping he'd be our future for one of the full back positions. Are there any plans to continue his loan or promote him this season?

johnzandt

{Ed002's Note - You will need to wait until Ed001 returns and ask him when he is around.}

1.) Ed001 replied to this the other month. He said I expects him to get a chance in pre-season and then go out on loan.

2.) 17 Jul 2014 13:34:15
Probably a loan is on the cards for McLaughlin; most likely to a Championship side.

E002, long winded question/ observation here. With City virtually (or the legends being) having 2 quality players for each position, and players seemingly having no problems moving to them knowing this, one of the arguments against Liverpool continuing to invest heavy is that no quality player is going to move to Liverpool to sit on the bench for prolonged periods. While i'm not in the camp of spend, spend, spend, I'm failing to see why to this regard City would be seen as the more attractive option (knowing you may be benched for periods) than Liverpool.

johnzandt

{Ed002's Note - I have explained the answer to this repeatedly. Manchester City has a lot of players who are not content. Liverpool supporters are jealous and obsess about Manchester City players and have no grasp of reality with the expectation that Mbappe will move to sit on the bench. It is pointless me explaining the same thing over and over again.}

I'm 43, completely out of shape and could still walk into most Malaysian teams. The standard out here is shocking.

Never really got the 'Gazza' was world class argument. He had one good season in 1991, but he didn't run the game for any length of time.

Roy Keane was absolutely world class, definitely for United and 100% for Ireland. You don't have to have the touch of Zidane to be World class.

If he could keep his weight in check of course, but I agree with you, he'd be frightening.

johnzandt

{Ed001's Note - with the training regimes of now? He would have been unstoppable.}

Origin has the same goal to game ratio as Big Duncan Ferguson Ed025, and you'd class the latter as a Legend. Bobby may not be prolific, but he's key to how that team plays.

johnzandt

{Ed025's Note - i certainly dont class big dunc as a legend john, he was a player with a very average skill set but endeared himself to the fans by giving 100% every time he played, my point about bobby was that he is not a CF mate, he plays in the hole or as a false 9 so is never going to be prolific, but what he does bring to the table is energy and the ability to open teams up..

Wilson is just the new Tom Ince, decent at Championship level, and has loads of fans clamouring for him to be played.
