Hi Eds, Gelson Martins, we were linked to him before, big release clause, was he released from his contract with sporting? Have we shown any interest in signing him on for free? What is Eds opinion of him?

mflis

{Ed001's Note - nobody has been released by Sporting. They asked for a contract termination which Sporting are contesting.}

1.) 09 Jul 2018 17:12:04
I know it’s not Liverpool related but does that mean the patricio to wolves is going to or be contested?

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

2.) 09 Jul 2018 21:09:42
TSR I saw something either yesterday or the day before that sporting have already filed a complaint or something over that transfer and are demanding €18mil ish (iirc)

3.) 10 Jul 2018 13:43:49
awkward.

Hey Eds, just curious, with Matip injury being a bit troublesome it seems and possibly requiring extended rest or surgery, will that force Klopps hand to get a CB he might have gotten in the summer window in the january window? Jonathan Tah?

mflis

{Ed001's Note - a lot depends on who is available.}

1.) 17 Dec 2016 15:04:28
No club will sell their star CB in January and we won`t be paying the stupid money they will ask for hence, we move on.

2.) 18 Dec 2016 00:22:24
Caulker will be signed in time for the League cup semi final 1st leg.

06 Nov 2016 22:46:01
See Pulisic rumors making rounds again, any updates or changes when it comes to him? Do you see Dortmund selling in January or the summer?

mflis

1.) 07 Nov 2016 09:10:17
As ed2 said - ' Pulisic is 17 and Dortmund has no interest in selling - but the summer is a long way off. Interest has been shown in other youngsters who may be more viable in the wing-back or attacking midfield/ winger type role. Club are constantly looking at players, and Liverpool are no different. '

2.) 07 Nov 2016 17:52:03
18 now. he will be 19 in September 😉😂.

3.) 08 Nov 2016 01:14:25
Not needed.

4.) 08 Nov 2016 10:16:50
If Klopp wants him then end of discussion. Let's see eh!

5.) 10 Nov 2016 01:02:21
Hi laddie bunton did you get email address? Would be good to chat re jfc. Steviep62.

Any updates on loans for youngsters Connor Randall, Cameron Brannagan, Pedro Chirivella? Or the surplus players Tiago Ilori, Lazar Markovic? Is liverpool still insisting on the 75% time played clause?

Hey eds, with Klopp mentioning Ings needs game time, is he available for loan or to be sold? Who would be interested?

Also, have we looked at loaning some players to Hull? They are a mess, only like 13 senior players, looking at a positive though, game time should be available for anyone that goes, maybe Ings, Markovic and a youngster?

mflis

{Ed001's Note - Ings wants to stay and fight for his place. It is unlikely, as things stand, he will go anywhere. Though there is still time for that to change.

As for Hull, you are right they are a mess, so why would you want to subject players to that? They can't pay any wages, they are in the midst of a takeover, so the only thing you can hope for is that players might get game time. As we have seen in the past, often struggling teams will not pick loanees, as it is felt they don't have the same desire as the club's own players. It is best to steer well clear.}

1.) 20 Aug 2016 05:36:25
Thanks for a quick response Ed, always appreciate that. I wasn't actually aware of the fact that struggling teams don't tend to pick loanees, it's intricacy that has escaped me. I was just thinking about game time, fact that promoted teams usually struggle for goals and creativity, also I thought I saw something during the summer that game time would trump wages and loan fees, figured regular premier league game time would trump fees and would make loans of players like Ings, Markovic attractive to both clubs.

2.) 20 Aug 2016 12:08:39
Ed. do you rate Ings, do you think he'll make it (regular starter or regular bench) this season?

{Ed001's Note - I like him, he has won me over. However, it is difficult to see him make it with us, not with Origi looking so good. His only real hope is if Sturridge is moved on.}

3.) 20 Aug 2016 12:57:09
Origi is looking good.
Would be great if Ings does stay and to see what Klopp can do with him after seeing the transformation in Origi.
I like Ings myself. Adds something different

Thanks for the reply.

When is the Spain move going ahead?

{Ed001's Note - 4th, so not long. I really should start organising things, but just not had the time yet!}

4.) 20 Aug 2016 14:08:51
Hope the move goes well Ed.
Always good to get your insight.

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate I am sure it will. I am only going to stay at my parents for a while.}

5.) 20 Aug 2016 14:50:07
Think Ings will get some game time, and next season, we will be back playing lots more games and we will need him then . yes Origi has come on a ton, but he is still nowhere near his peak, will be some striker then .

6.) 20 Aug 2016 14:56:41
In todays market and given berahino being worth close to £25m and our other forward options then maybe take "25m from a Stoke / West Brom for him".

7.) 20 Aug 2016 20:09:10
Liverpool FC owners hire advisers after Chinese approach
The US owners of Liverpool FC have appointed financial advisers after an unsolicited approach by a consortium led by a Chinese investment firm Everbright and PCP Capital Partners, the private equity firm founded by Amanda Staveley.

8.) 20 Aug 2016 22:56:43
Hull look to be a right mess with 2 wins out of 2. Wish we were in that kind of trouble.

9.) 21 Aug 2016 11:53:02
I would love for I gas to come to Celtic on loan for 1 season, help us score goals in champions league and then return to Anfield and Fire you to champs league qualification at the very least.

10.) 21 Aug 2016 12:12:15
Ed1,
You're picking our team for spurs away, Origi or Sturridge? Or neither?

{Ed001's Note - Origi. 100%. Love Studger but he is not ready.}

Hi Eds, assuming Alisson transfer goes thru, which is the 3 goalkeepers stays as backup and which ones do you see moving on? See rumors about Ward already.

mflis

{Ed001's Note - you've answered your own question. Ward is going and Mignolet/Bogdan are unwanted.}

Hi Eds, just wanted to ...

mflis

{Ed002's Note - We can’t answer questions about random players.}

03 Jan 2018 20:33:08
Any chance the club try to get ahead of Couthinho sale and try to get a replacement ahead? We seen what happened after Bale, Suarez, Neymar sales, prices double or triple for the players. Also, any chance Klopp will finally buy a holding player? Henderson is only healthy for half a season and Can will leave in the summer. Who would Ed suggest would be a good fit?

mflis

1.) 03 Jan 2018 20:50:35
Neither Can nor Henderson are holding midfielders but imo should be replaced by one. Neither of those 2 or Wini offers enough going forward, if we replaced one with say Ndidi (my dream realistic choice) I think it would improve us no end by helping protect the back 4 and not really losing a whole lot of creativity.

2.) 03 Jan 2018 21:02:32
It's not as simple as that. If we buy Lemar from Monaco for €90 million, and we do it before we sell Coutinho to Barca, They still know he's a replacement, and they still know we're getting a wedge of cash from Barca.

3.) 03 Jan 2018 21:48:10
Is Ndidi really the dream? 😂

A realistic sensible option, yes. Not the dream choice though surely lol.

4.) 04 Jan 2018 08:21:35
navy, I think it's about balance. Ndidi would bring a natural defensive eye to the midfield that Hendo and Can don't really have. they can play defensively but they are naturally box to box midfielders. Ndidi would just slot in and he has talent on the ball to fit in to how we play there, it would then free up the likes of Can and Hendo Ox etc to play more box to box and therefore in their natural positions. not a dream individual signing in terms of star quality, but could be an integral and much under-rated piece that we do need.

5.) 04 Jan 2018 15:44:35
Ndidi your dream choice? You need to get out more.

Makes you wonder if OX's injury history and now his current injury had an impact on pulling the plug on Fekir's deal over his medical.

Going back to his Dortmund days, GK and CB are 2 positions that Klopp doesn't like to play kids at, he prefers someone seasoned and experienced. Ward was never going to get much of a chance, think Gomez will split time another year or two at RB before truly getting a shot at CB.

Curious what info Ed's might have on that one, aside from theatrics, his ability to interchange in front 3 could be great, got nose for the goal, playing in narrow front 3 could spike his goal tally like it did for Salah.

Firmino could have a "new hair off" with Dybala on weekly basis.

Happy he signed but also worried now about the curse of the new contract, Sterling, Suarez, Couthinho (think there might be another name or two) all signed a new contract and were sold within a year.

Usually a raise in salary helps soothe things. Did Buvac and Kraviec get raises and extensions when Klopp got his? I just hate the timing of it before the biggest game of the year so far.

On a side note, do Eds know if Firmino's extension has a release clause?

mflis

{Ed001's Note - it is not about money and release clauses are irrelevant in England.}
