Eds, I think ed025 said that Liverpool (and Arsenal) are interested in Inters Gabriel Barbosa.

Firstly, any idea why it has gone wrong for him since arriving in summer? I think he's only made a single appearance off the bench

Secondly, is our interest real?

{Ed025's Note - he has been watched by liverpool imred but no offer has been made at this time as far as i am aware mate..

26 Aug 2016 22:04:32
Liverpool have bid for Pulisic. (Tony Barrett)

1.) 26 Aug 2016 22:13:38
Any of the eds know anything on this?

{Ed091's Note - seems unlikely,

2.) 26 Aug 2016 22:18:34
If it's true, it's hardly what we need. Even Stevie Wonder can see we need a left back and possibly a DM. It's absolutely incredible if this happens. What's happening at the club? Starting to lose it with this lot. Square pegs in round holes. I could select a better team right now.

3.) 26 Aug 2016 22:25:47
Paul Joyce also reporting an £11million bid for Pulisic.
I doubt Dortmund will want to sell him to us. Would be a great buy though.

4.) 26 Aug 2016 22:46:24
Looks like it's true Joyce, Barrett and Bascombe have all reported it. Apparently Stoke have also made a similar offer. Bascombe say's it's unlikely to come off though.

5.) 26 Aug 2016 23:28:12
He's a winger lol. Pacy. We only have one of those in the team that is apparently going to feature. You all saw what happened when we were missing Mane. He's a great young talent and I think a good addition.

6.) 27 Aug 2016 01:58:47
very odd move, i don't think its true.

7.) 27 Aug 2016 02:18:31
He is not as pacy or powerful like mane. Not really impress by him. Not sure y we gg for him . Delofeu of everton is a trickier winger.

8.) 27 Aug 2016 02:45:58
Not sure why anyone would be unhappy with us signing a young, promising winger really. If Klopp wants a LB, he'll sign one as well, it's not like we can only make one more signing or anything- clearly he's not as concerned about it as most supporters (rightly or wrongly) .

9.) 27 Aug 2016 03:19:29
We have American owners, no team has really taken hold of american market yet, you can bet the owners want to change that and nothing puts american butts in front of TV's like cheering for their own. If Pulisic were to develop into anything resembling Gotze before Bayern move, or Reus, the commercial possibilities would be incredible. You can bet that TV people would ensure to televise Liverpool games in prime spots giving us the heads up on every other team. He also fits a profile of young player that Klopp would want to develop.

Klopp knows the player, worked with him, we can see he has bags of talent, if Klopp things he can develop him into a great player, I say go get him, even if he costs 20-30 million.

10.) 27 Aug 2016 03:45:26
Come one leekuanyew the lad is still 17, must you be a bell in every post you make?

11.) 27 Aug 2016 10:10:11
Mflis - I was saying similar stuff a while back. Hope it happens!

12.) 27 Aug 2016 11:33:10
He's only 17. Nobody said we're buying him for the first team. We're lacking in depth in the wing position in the under 21s too.

13.) 27 Aug 2016 12:11:49
Does anyone remember a kid called Ojo?
Who does he play for these days?

14.) 27 Aug 2016 12:05:21
What's this fascination with signing a 'DM'? Do you people nor realise that Can, Henderson, Stewart and Brannagan are central midfielders? Not to mention Grujic.

15.) 27 Aug 2016 11:59:25

16.) 27 Aug 2016 15:00:23
cant see this transfer coming off, he is def one for the future, but I would prefer that we sign someone for this season, thought we played well today, but not getting the 3 points shows that there are area s were we can improve .

17.) 27 Aug 2016 16:31:08
Mainznilfunf of the midfielders you mention Brannagan is too lightweight to be an effective central midfielder, Henderson and Can are box to box midfielders and Stewart is untested at the highest level, so we do need a centre midfielder who can actually defend, or haven't you been watching us for the last year?

18.) 27 Aug 2016 23:13:45
I'm sure David silva and modric play cm! Just saying!

03 Nov 2015 23:15:40
Ryan Kent has been called back to Liverpool to train with the squad for a few days (He has not been recalled) so that Klopp can have a good look at him before going back to Coventry.

20 Oct 2015 18:06:02
"It has emerged that the Reds do have the option of cutting short the Serbia international's season-long stay in Turkey during the winter transfer window, "

"Klopp is an admirer of Markovic and must decide whether the 21-year-old attacker would be better served returning to Anfield for the second half of the campaign or continuing his development in Istanbul until next summer. "

"Fenerbahce, who are paying 100% wages of his wages this season, don't have the option to buy Markovic.

"Liverpool were always insistent that the switch to Turkey was simply to get him regular game-time and Klopp is likely to give Markovic the opportunity to belatedly kick-start his Reds career. "

- James Pearce, Hope that stops the 'recall Markovic' questions.

{Ed001's Note - it has not 'emerged', as I have said all along deals can always be cut short during a transfer window. It is outside the window that you need to have a recall option to do anything. Even then, I am not sure that is possible unless it is a domestic loan, I need to check as they might well have altered that rule in the summer.}

20 Oct 2015 13:47:17
Cameron Brannagan was told not to play for the U21s at the weekend apparently and he wasn't in the first team squad at the weekend so I would expect to see some sort of involvement on thursday.

The Aston villa owner has said he/ the club rejected a £25m bid for amavi from an unnamed club. That's an astronomical figure for a left back coming off injury in the championship, it's a pretty massive figure regardless. If they are rejecting those sorts of numbers I think it's safe to say we won't be in for him at that price.

1.) 27 Dec 2016 13:33:52
They probably had no choice but to keep him at the time, nobody lined up to replace him or something.

2.) 27 Dec 2016 13:45:20
There owners are rich so they don't need the money.

3.) 27 Dec 2016 14:22:25
We have Milner, Moreno and the possibility of Juanma being promoted.

Unless were selling either one of Moreno or Milner, we probably won't be buying a LB. atleast that's what i think.

4.) 27 Dec 2016 14:44:36
Old news. Who cares about old news? The Villa owner whose club is currently irrelevant.

5.) 27 Dec 2016 17:36:38
I can't believe we're letting Lucas leave.

He has been an important player this season covering for defence and midfield.

He has also been an important figure for Coutinio when he first arrived and could follow him out the door

If its true good luck Lucas Levia and thanks very much.

A top player who hasn't always been treated well by the likes of Rodgers.

6.) 27 Dec 2016 19:21:24
Lucas hasn't featured much recently. Maybe klopp is more satisfied klavan has settled? I rekon the rags have put old rumours together with lucas not featuring recently and decided he is on his way.

7.) 28 Dec 2016 00:51:00
I think Lucas is a valuble senior player for us and a model pro.

Does any of the Eds or reds know if he is due a testimonial?

He has to be there over 10 years now.

25 Nov 2016 08:08:14
Eds there is a story via the Times which is making the round abouts Man Citys academy. Supposedly a large number of clubs (the article names Man United, Everton and Liverpool) being unhappy with Citys conduct when it comes to poaching young kids.

to quote the article;
"Manchester United and Everton are also believed to have expressed unhappiness about City and, along with Liverpool, discussed refusing to play them at junior level after complaining of fixtures being swamped by opposition scouts seeking to recruit their players.

Premier League clubs are not allowed to transfer youth players unless "there are sound footballing reasons for a player moving between Category One clubs".

The suggestion is that City are unfairly turning the heads of kids to join their club from rivals, thanks to off-the-field benefits. That may include schooling, as the Times detail the following:

City's relationship with the £11,000-a-year independent school St Bede's College in Manchester is being examined following complaints that the club promise to fund the private education of anyone enrolling at their Academy up to the age of 18 even if they leave the football programme earlier. It has also been claimed that the club pay for the education of siblings.

In another telling comment, the Times note how Man City are top of a 'Poachers Table' which is being compiled by the Premier League under the radar. "

Is there any truth to this? And if so what would be done?

{Ed002's Note - Yes there are concerns and there are issues about "gifts" to parents. Manchester City is not the only club to have such accusations thrown at them. As for potentially refusing to play games, I was not aware of that and I would think it unlikely that clubs would be willing to accept the sanctions that would go with such action. Category 1 clubs have an obligation to run the teams and play the games.}

1.) 25 Nov 2016 16:34:56
Of course the flipside of this would be to discuss how great it is that a team is finally making sure their youth footballers actually get a good education as well as a good football education.

24 Sep 2016 19:12:38
Don't know if anyone has listened to Klopps post match press conference. But said in the last few weeks one of the best players in training has been Alberto Moreno and he has reacted really really well to being out of the team, I honestly thought it was over at the club for Moreno but Klopp said it was the kind of pressure we needed at the club for each position.

He said it like he knew everyone in the room had accepted Moreno was awful and knew the answer would surprise them. Would love ed001s thoughts too.

{Ed001's Note - I haven't heard it mate, but there should never be a closed door to a player who works hard in training to improve themselves.}

1.) 24 Sep 2016 19:20:57
Only problem Moreno has is one James Milner.

2.) 24 Sep 2016 19:33:59
Great to hear and I really hope it's true but Milner is too solid right now so I wouldn't replace him with Moreno.

3.) 24 Sep 2016 19:36:19
It is good management of a player. He is keeping Moreno's moral up. Keep working hard and you will another chance, then it is up to him.

4.) 24 Sep 2016 19:58:49
Hope we can sell moreno for 20mil.

5.) 24 Sep 2016 21:12:30
Keek, right and I hope we can buy Neymar for £5m, what's your point?

6.) 24 Sep 2016 22:15:49
I though Moreno looked a lot better when we played Derby, i know the opposition were weaker than normal but there were definitely encouraging signs.

I think if you were looking on from the bench at the performances we're putting in at the moment, the buzz, the manager, the fans. most people would bust a gut to be a part of this team and club going forward.

Its a good time to be an lfc fan. let's hope we can keep the momentum up 😀.

7.) 24 Sep 2016 23:30:00
Moreno I super talented. Quick, techinically good. Just a complete moron with football intelligence and doesn't seem to give a flipperty f**k when he makes a mistake 'ie wanting to learn how to get better' hence why he never imprves. If he gets his head sorted. Would be a great lb.

13 Aug 2016 13:14:28
Jonas Hector has signed a new contract with Koln apparently, should definitely rule him out.

02 Aug 2016 11:00:49
Eds, you said I think that the club are looking at the LB Taylor from Leeds. It's being reported Taylor has handed in a transfer request, could/ will push Liverpool toward a bid?

Or has nothing changed?

{Ed001's Note - I have no idea and can't answer questions like that really. It would be pure supposition.}

Question was asked last summer:

{Ed002's Note - Last summer Gremio's Luan has been subject to enquiries from Leicester, Rennes and Milan but no offers have been made by any of these sides. Barcelona were keen to take him as a fourth choice striker but were put off by a very significant asking price and a request for him to stay at Gremio through to January - hence their moving for Valencia's Alcacer (who ironically will likely be replaced by a player from Barcelona) . Others who watched the player in the Olympics including Manchester United, Arsenal, Benfica, Liverpool and Juventus do not see value in the asking price but will likely keep an eye on his progress. An offer from China at the end of 2015 failed due to significant wage demands from the player's representative. }

Don't know if anythings changed.

{Ed001's Note - Luan Viera then, cheers. We have continued to track him, I know that much off the top of my head.}

Why is it a stupid move? He's only just match fit and back from injury. The only injury Newcastle have in Ojos position is Rolando Aarons who has been out for an age.

Chelsea loaned Newcastle Atsu and he can't get a real game for them and he plays in those forward areas, Ayoze Perez and Mitrovic aren't regulars for Newcastle. Where is the guarantee Ojo would get on the pitch?

Everyone plays better when Mane is on the pitch. He seems to stretch teams at the back which gives Origi more room to play in.

Origi like most of our players seems to do well against the bigger teams I think, his advantages don't lie with the quick passing we get with Firmino and Coutinho and he's pretty much our only striker that is good in the air.

He is still young, he'd be a great option off the bench the fact we have to rely on him so heavily because of injuries puts his limitations in the spotlight. Give him some more time 22 is still really young. I'd be more inclined to have a go if he didn't put a shift in but he clearly does.

In all fairness, an article came from Melissa Reddy before this transfer out saying Klopp had changed his mind of the type of midfielder necessary for our team and his focus has switched from Dahoud to a midfield in the mould of Naby Keita (well exactly Naby Keita in this instance) for our midfield.

I think you're crazy, we wouldn't be able to afford him. And the way he's performing it's not long before Barcelona and Madrid look to pick him up.
