Ed002, some Fabian Ruiz rumours circulating, do you think it has any legs? He was great at Euros but a sub at PSG.

Neves had a great start of the season and Ruiz may not find playing time, a great backup for the position if LFC cannot manage to land Varela, I prefer him to Rabiot personally.

He was on RM books, loaned to Betis for a season I believe, I raved about him on here when RM v Betis, he ran all over the CM area, the stand out player, it was from that I learned he was on loan from RM, I suggested him to play on the left of our 3 CM.

I'm pretty sure Ruiz started his career at Betis and was there since he was a kid. I might be remembering wrong through.

Eds, with the growing tension around Rodrygo's social media post do you see a potential Liverpool offer for him next summer if Salah does not stay at the club? I know that you have said before that he is of interest to the club.
He looks as most likely to depart from the current Madrid squad.

Do you know why Liverpool wouldn't be interested? Cost/ wages? I don't see a lot of RW of Salah's calibre out there, and we don't have any obvious replacements in house who look anywhere near ready. Do LFC have alternative targets they're interested in?

Dhfc, last season Quansah started as 5th choice and now he’s ahead of everyone except Virgil and at least level with Konate. 5th choice should always be an academy prospect in my opinion.
Virgil has played 32-38 league games in 5 of his 6 full seasons so He’s rarely ever injured in reality. Konate missed 5 games last season and seems to be over his hamstring issues. Quansah has never missed a game in his young career. So That’s 3 players who will all want to start and have no current or recent injury concerns. Inacio seems to be favourite to sign if we dip into the market and I’m not aware of any injury issues with him either but correct me if I’m wrong there. Gomez missed 1 game last season with a cold, if he stays. And I think van den Berg played 32 out of 34 Bundesliga games last season, if he stays. So any 4 of them is plenty of senior options in my opinion.
What happened in 20/ 21 season was a freak occurrence. You don’t normally need 5 or 6 CB’s good enough to start 10-20 games in a row. I’d personally give Amara Nallo the 5th choice spot. Nallo is good enough to take some strain off our senior players by playing in domestic cup games.

With Slot saying that Diaz will likely stay this season I guess that the Gordon swap+money is now off the table.

However, his agent is talking to Michael Emenalo and other clubs but I doubt Liverpool will want anymore HG players to leave although they did offer him to Newcastle as part of a deal for the HG Gordon, something which would have suited the plyer who wants more game time. Aston Villa and West Ham offer options, although Aston Villa are pushing ahead with the transfer of the versatile Geertruida and interest will likely go if they complete that transfer.}

There is no glaring hole in deffence if Gomez is staying. He is a better option than many of the suggested new shiny toys in the market.

Ed002, do you think there will be a bid for him today? Idk how trustworthy are those Argentine journalists calling for the deal when they state a wrong release clause for him but every act this window except Zubimendi's has been broken out by foreign journalists- Mamardashvili by Valencia media and Chiesa by Romano and you of course have been stating the whole window that the interest is there. I know that you do not like to comment on possibilities but is Liverpool likely to pay the release clause?
