Watched Ars v Bou

It's fantastic what Iraola has done with that team!

Even after losing Huijsen, Zabarnyi, Kerkez, Semenyo, Ouattara since last season, they play fantastic, progressive football.

Against Arsenal they had fantastic shape, crazy work ethic across the pitch and a clear plan. They didn't look one bit scared of playing the current top of the table team at their own stadium.

Broke and attacked fast in a disciplined way when they needed to and defended hard when they had to. The whole team is crazy fit and you can tell they all fight for each other and for the manager.

A well deserved 2-1 to them. 👏

I would not be worried at all if for some reason we couldn't get Alonso and we went in for Iraola. For a moment he took me back to prime LFC under Kloppo.

11 Apr 2026 14:51:10
Said we should move for him last year before Alonso was available. Alex Scott is a talent we should be all over for midfield.

Agree6

11 Apr 2026 15:01:30
Rather Alex Scott than Macca.

Agree4

11 Apr 2026 15:05:15
Keegans, he was great in the game. Very confident and calm under the pressure for a fairly young player. Kroupi is a talent too and their FBs were excellent.

Agree1

11 Apr 2026 15:19:27
Richard Hughes is a fan of him & brought him to Bournemouth (even though we're not fans of Hughes), although Hughes might depart in summer. I suppose not beyond the realms of possibility is the fact that Iraola's contract is up in summer is reason Slot is still here.

I suppose one down side is he's never managed a big club, but of course gotta start somewhere.
I'd be happy with either Alonso or him. But TBH I'd rather Mr Blobby be in charge next season than Slot.

Agree4

11 Apr 2026 15:21:44
Iraola is great. If Arsenal had him at the helm they'd be champions.

Agree5

11 Apr 2026 15:32:16
He is the closest to Klopp's style imo.
He would be my pick.
Sad that the reports suggest he's off to ManU.

Agree4

11 Apr 2026 15:37:35
If Arsenhole had Homer Simpson as manager, they would have been champions by now... that's how bad everyone else has been, but Lego Head is so obsessed in the dark arts that they actually forget about what's important at times.

Agree3

11 Apr 2026 16:20:11
Nothing against Alonso and would be happy to have him as our manager next season. But all I can say is that Iraola will make us enjoy football again. It may be frustrating at times, but the football is definitely going to be progressive, and I have no doubt about it.

Agree2

11 Apr 2026 22:47:36
Aren't Bournemouth below us in the league after 32 games?

Agree3

11 Apr 2026 14:39:47
I know our season has been a car crash (let's face it from the first game against Bournemouth when one of our fans racially abused Semenyo the omens were not good). But watching the capitualtion of Arsenal is magnificent.

The quadruple is on, the quadruple bottle. City will win their remaining 8 games and win the league. It's what they do. How many times have we had to sit hoping they drop points in April and May and they simply do not.

They just keep on winning. I can't stand 115 charges FC but the Arseandall fans have been intolerable this season. City will win a treble and Bayern will win the CL. I cannot imagine the excuses the Arsenal fans will have for that. It's beautiful to watch. Martin Keown stubling for answers post match is so funny. As Liverpool are so awful right now it's the only joy I've had this season.

11 Apr 2026 14:57:22
Was watching Ars v Bou and the commentator said, according to historical statistics, April is Arsenal's worst month under Arteta and City's best under Pep!

I would die hearing that if I was an Arsenal fan!

Agree5

11 Apr 2026 14:59:53
There are 60,000 people inside Anfield. I don't think the actions of one idiot are reflective of the club at all. The club always acts accordingly when it happens.

Agree3

11 Apr 2026 15:26:19
City will definitely win the league. Always fancied them to do so. Arsenal will Champions League.

Agree2

11 Apr 2026 15:50:29
I can't see Arsenal beating either Bayern or PSG.

Agree8

11 Apr 2026 13:10:51
Great interview with Rio on Sky, asking him questions. Seems we have a huge talent on our hands.

11 Apr 2026 12:46:48
Just how much of a c*** up was it not bringing in Guehi and Semenyo in January? Both doing fantastic at City.

11 Apr 2026 14:57:27
And they would have been awful in this team more than likely. Good for them

Agree1

11 Apr 2026 15:02:52
They're good compared to our recent activity in the transfer market, but pretty meh compared to our historic activity. We can definitely do better if we get our act together.

Agree1

11 Apr 2026 22:50:07
Leoni will be a lot, lot better than Guehi.

Hi ed001

Would it be worth trying to get Livramento in the summer. Good strong player and go play both full back positions. May cost a bit but think would be worth it. Appreciate yours and posters thoughts. Also hope get a positive performance and win today.

{Ed001's Note - had a few too many injuries for my liking.}

11 Apr 2026 14:04:46
Agreed, Ed. He's an excellent player but he's missed 30 games this season alone, and has had some concerning injuries since turning pro.

Agree1

11 Apr 2026 14:40:56
Thanks Ed for reply, would be good to find a utility player for at least a couple of positions in defence. Need a couple of player's in the team who can tackle and run but can play 50 games a season.

Agree1

11 Apr 2026 16:50:37
Geertruida is still my choice as the utility defender.

Agree1

Morning Reds and Edds

I'm on holiday in Egypt. The hotel although very nice does not show the games. I watched the PSG game on the room tv which is crap and a screaming commentator in Arabic

Do any of you know a way I can pick up a commentary of the game? A radio app perhaps that works in Egypt?

Thanks. Ps I hope Harry Willson isn't playing today. Every time I see him play I wish he was still a Red.

1-0 to us if Willson stays in London.

YNWA.

{Ed001's Note - try the TOD app mate or BeIn Connect. Not sure which one you have there in Egypt.}

Can you not use a VPN and then watch on Sky Sports.

Agree1

11 Apr 2026 12:33:24
Do yourself a favour and don't watch/listen to it... If I want to get bored or have my day ruined I just watch Liverpool at the moment. So sad to say that after the glorious Klopp years! I have no affinity to Slot and this team and I cannot wait for the season to be over!

Agree2

11 Apr 2026 13:19:17
I usually sync up and watch/listen RedmenTV or Anfield Agenda on YouTube!

Thanks, guys. Sync up a VPN. 🤣🤣 I'm 630msl.

If we go for Iraola, or even if we don’t, I would love us to make cheeky enquiries about Zabarnyi at PSG. He has had a disappointing season, but I’ve always rated him very highly.

I’d break the bank for him if he wanted a return to the PL. However, he was very keen on PSG and his fortunes will probably improve. He was torlet against Lyon.

11 Apr 2026 13:59:13
He did well for Iraola at Bournemouth.

Agree1

11 Apr 2026 15:24:07
I agree 100 percent with your reckoning of Iraola, RK. This is democracy manifest.

Agree0

11 Apr 2026 09:29:57
Anyone taking bets on us losing to a 92nd minute goal?
Standard Slotism.

11 Apr 2026 09:39:10
I think we will get beat today, 2-1 to Fulham.

Agree8

11 Apr 2026 09:48:37
If we get a shot on target and more than 26%, then it's an improvement on Wednesday.

All joking aside, we desperately need to win this one, but I'm not confident we'll do that.

Agree2

11 Apr 2026 09:56:18
I'm gonna watch this game on TV, go the game on Tuesday, and call it a season.

I think I've done well lasting this long. I'm checking out 5 months later than the manager and players anyway. 😂

Agree18

11 Apr 2026 10:09:35
I'm opposite to you, LFC8. I've just given my ticket up for Tuesday. Going later. Will be at CL semi-final when we get through!

Agree3

11 Apr 2026 10:18:03
I'll give it this season but I won't watch every single game next season either live or on TV if Slot and Hughes are still knocking about.

Agree4

11 Apr 2026 10:28:01
Deffo a late Fulham goal in the offing. We're 2nd highest (NUFC highest) conceders of late goals, and Fulham are joint highest scorers of late goals. All according to the BBC.

Agree2

11 Apr 2026 10:30:44
Have to win today.

Champions League football is a must next season.

Slot or no Slot, we need Champions League football.

Have to get going in the league.

Agree3

11 Apr 2026 10:43:35
Can't see anything other than a draw tbh!

We're toothless & Fulham are a dangerous outfit with no end of season pressure!

I.

Agree1

11 Apr 2026 10:52:39
For some unknown reason, I'm going for a 2 nil win. My logic is we can't get any worse than the game against PSG, n Fulham aren't PSG. We desperately need all 3pts. This shower have to put the effort and pride in till the end of the season.

Agree1

11 Apr 2026 10:57:04
It will be good for Xabi to come in with low expectations after a woeful season. The only way will be Up, and we'll see who has the work ethic for his style.
My sense is that both Eki and Isak will be moved on after 1 more season.

Agree1

11 Apr 2026 11:02:28
Some of the posters need to get their big boys pants on and stop this constant dirge of negativity and stop sounding like the United fans that they ridiculed when they were complaining about other teams not letting them win every game. Yes, we've had a disappointing season, yes, we have a manager who's not up to the job, yes, some of the players are not playing up to their capabilities.

It will improve, we will get a manager who inspires the team and new signings will reinvigorate the team. Support the club, not just the individuals who are just passing through, and show a bit of optimism and hopefully make the site a little less tedious.

Agree10

11 Apr 2026 11:17:09
We'll win, 3-1 I think.
I'll be there, 2 for Isak (one penalty).

Agree1

11 Apr 2026 11:19:30
Unfortunately, believers now doubters. A draw today at best, buy think 2 nil Fulham. Sad times.

Agree4

11 Apr 2026 11:38:48
I think we'll win all our remaining home games.

Agree4

11 Apr 2026 11:49:06
Rome 1977, you're a pessimist mate, but fair play to you buddy.

Agree0

11 Apr 2026 11:19:54
Yes, we've had a disappointing season, yes, we have a manager who's not up to the job, yes, some of the players are not playing up to their capabilities

Jesus Kemlyn stop your negativity and put your big boy pants on.

Agree5

11 Apr 2026 12:12:56
I think we will sneak a win today. An unconvincing one.

Agree1

11 Apr 2026 12:44:54
Going with 3-1 to Fulham, booing at halftime and mass walk outs after 70 minutes, more booing at full time.

Agree4

11 Apr 2026 13:07:34
I hate the idea of booing, but it's the only way to let whoever is in charge know that the supporters aren't happy with the current direction of the club. From reading press reports, it feels like FSG are happy with Slot, no idea how true that is though...

Agree1

11 Apr 2026 13:26:20
We definitely need to win this game by any means necessary.

Agree1

11 Apr 2026 13:26:58
Slot has us playing the most ineffective slow passive football imaginable. That the five flukey wins out from the start of the season and its relegation form. Hodgson was sacked for that and so should Slot be. Our midfield makes the least amount of tackles, puts the least amount of hard yards in and doesn't press opponents.

It's no wonder we're up s*** creek without a paddle. Fulham know how to take points off of us, and the awful thing is that Slot has no ideas to counter it.

Agree2

11 Apr 2026 12:29:09
Put my big boy pants on!? Are you trying to say I'm childish?

That's quite offensive Kemlyn and you are now banned from my Tree House

Agree3

11 Apr 2026 15:28:54
My big boy pants are Tenaman with some lederhosen on top.

Agree1

11 Apr 2026 22:55:27
How'd the game turn out for everybody?

You can tell Rio is an understudy for Gakpo. Get the ball, 30 seconds of step overs, cut inside and shoot.

Agree0

11 Apr 2026 09:07:55
LFC potential manager options should Arne Slot leave, which depends on final league position at this moment.

- Xabi Alonso: Clear frontrunner. Perfect stylistic fit — high-pressing, possession-dominant football with tactical flexibility. Knows the club inside out as a former player and wants the job.

- Sebastian Hoeness: Highly rated. Young, dynamic, and data-driven. Builds intense, attacking teams with strong organisation.

His Stuttgart success shows he can develop players and overachieve.

- Julian Nagelsmann: Elite-level coach. Innovative tactician with excellent man-management. Brings modern, flexible systems and has Premier League-level ambition.

- Andoni Iraola: In-form Premier League performer. Organised, high-pressing style with attacking full-backs. Proven ability to improve players and get results on a budget.

11 Apr 2026 09:59:40
Yeah, you lost me at calling Nagelsmann elite.

Agree11

11 Apr 2026 09:47:31
Racey

I think for me we have to get a manager who has proven top level experience and has won trophies, who plays the same sort of football we saw with Jurgen

I know Ed has a different perspective but for me it's Nagelsmann with Xabi a close runner

Agree1

11 Apr 2026 10:09:34
Agree with everything except Nagelsmann. He's very overrated and the opposite of excellent man-management, in my opinion... He can be toxic.

I'd be ok with any of the other 3 mentioned. Alonso, I'm not convinced he'll want to come if we still have Hughes and Edwards in their positions.

He might want more assurance on him having greater authority on transfers. That's just my assumption, not ITK.

Agree4

11 Apr 2026 10:09:41
Don Carlo may be available if, as seems likely, Brazil fail to win the World Cup. Not sure that he is the right man to bring out the best in the current team, nor that he has the drive that maybe he had, ten years ago, when he appeared to be in the frame, with Jurgen, to take over.

He is, however, one of the greatest managers ever and is a proven winner.

Agree0

11 Apr 2026 10:31:32
Iraola for me.

Agree3

11 Apr 2026 11:00:10
Alonso now, Hoeness after him in 10 years time.

Agree1

11 Apr 2026 11:10:20
Chat GPT summary much?

Agree2

11 Apr 2026 11:33:15
Nagelsmann won't be available until late summer at most. Plus he's a bit of a knobhead.

Iraola, I'm not convinced by. It's a big step up managing a mid table club with no expectations to one of the greatest clubs in world football, and very few have successfully made that jump.

Xabi knows the club, the fans, he's built a league title winning side from nothing and but for the fact that Madrid is a cesspit of the worst cretins, he'd have been a success there. He's the best candidate available and it's not really very close.

Agree8

11 Apr 2026 14:42:13
I'd be ok with any one of those four managers tbh.

Agree0

11 Apr 2026 14:46:52
Slot, anyone!!!
